Animal rights protester in Chile gets properly handled.

This young lady decided to protest animal cruelty at a rodeo in Chile. She wound up getting lassoed and dragged out of the arena so the cowboys could continue their work.

Canada's growing problem

(from a friends e-mail alert

Fearing the Tea Party's movement to restore the Constitution and return to the Founding Fathers' principles, along with a conservative election victory this November in the US, Canada now faces an unusual illegal immigration problem....
From: The Manitoba Herald

The flood of American liberals sneaking across the border into Canada has intensified in the past week, sparking calls for increased patrols to stop the illegal immigration. The recent actions of the Tea Party are prompting an exodus among left-leaning US citizens who fear they'll soon be required to hunt and pray, and to agree with Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck.

Canadian border farmers say it's not uncommon to see dozens of sociology professors, animal-rights activists and Unitarians crossing their fields at night.

"I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood producer huddled in the barn," said Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield, whose acreage borders North Dakota. "The liberal weenie was cold, exhausted and hungry. He asked me if I could spare a latte and some free-range chicken. When I said I didn't have any, he stormed out before I even got a chance to show him my screenplay, eh?"

In an effort to stop the illegal aliens, the Canadians erected higher fences, but the liberals scaled them. They then installed loudspeakers that blared Rush Limbaugh across the fields. "Slowed them down a bit, but not real effective" was the response of locals.

Officials are particularly concerned about smugglers who meet liberals near the Canadian border, pack them into Volvo station wagons and drive them across the border where they are simply left to fend for themselves.

"A lot of these people are not prepared for our rugged conditions; here you have to work and actually produce something of value." An Ontario border patrolman was quoted, "I found one full car-load of 'em without a single bottle of imported bottled water."

When liberals are caught, they're sent back across the border, often wailing loudly as they fear retribution from conservatives. Rumors have been circulating about plans being made to build re-education camps where liberals will be forced to work, drink domestic beer and watch NASCAR races.

In recent days, a few of the smarter liberals have turned to ingenious ways of crossing the border. Some have been disguised as senior citizens taking a bus trip to buy cheap Canadian prescription drugs. After catching a half- dozen young "vegans" in grey wig disguises, Canadian immigration authorities began stopping buses and quizzing the supposed senior citizens about Perry Como and Rosemary Clooney to prove that they were alive in the '50s. "If they can't identify the accordion player on The Lawrence Welk Show, we become very suspicious about their age," an official said.

Canadian citizens have also complained that the illegal immigrants are creating an organic broccoli shortage and are renting out all the Michael Moore movies. "I really feel sorry for American liberals, but the Canadian economy doesn't run-up huge debts and we just can't support them," an Ottawa resident said. "How many art history and political science majors does one country need?"

In an effort to ease tensions between the United States and Canada , Vice President Biden met with the Canadian ambassador and pledged that the administration would spend and tax even more to re-assure liberals.

A source close to President Obama said, "We're going to have even more Paul McCartney concerts at the White House. And we might even put a picture of Obama bowing down to some Muslims on a Canadian postage stamp?"

The President is determined to reach out," he said.

An Investment Thought

The "A is A" family is very bullish on gold. I say buy as much as you can afford.

Tuesday Taste of the "Town"

Their menu here.

It’s a bar, plain and simple. “Cheers” style bar area and booths around the walls. It was kind of dark at 2PM, and filled with a crowd that deserves (and really requires) low lighting. Smoking is encouraged.

Very attentive. We sat at the bar, served by a very nice bartender. Like I said, it’s a bar, so it’s cluttered with bar equipment and Mega-Touch machines. If you want something, speak up or stand up.

I had a reuben and chips, EK had “the” Par Four – a cheeseburger and fries. My reuben was close to being one of the best I’ve had in the South, but for one fatal flaw. The sandwich maker did not drain the sauerkraut – so the whole sammy was a big juicy mess. Excellent bread, great corned beef, and the right amount of 1000 island dressing – It could’ve been a contender.

Decent sized burger with a good portion of fries. EK called it a winner, and he wiped out the plate. Less application of condiments – maybe I’m getting to him. Again, it looked overcooked to me, but I’m a medium rare meat guy. B.

Overall, I’m going with “OK”. But you absolutely cannot be a tobacco-phobe. Everybody smokes, and just as we were finishing (mercifully), some jackass lights up a HUGE cigar three seats down. The ambiance is all WV Mountaineers and most of the clientele is either from WV or admires them. I’d recommend getting the food to go, if you like breathing.

Parking is at a bit of a premium, but when somebody walks in and starts bitching about where “you’re parked” and “you need to move right now”, maybe you’re not a regular. Especially since EK's car was in another business’ parking lot next door.

Well, that’s it for the first round of the Cheeseburger Quest, now we’ll shake it up and try some pizza for a few weeks. The standings so far:

Andy’s: First Place (by a large margin)
Clubhouse: Second Place (with some issues)
Sharkey’s: Third Place (but only because there are only three)

Communism works (for those born to the right family)

SEOUL, South Korea – North Korea's Kim Jong Il made his elusive youngest son a four-star general in a major promotion seen Tuesday as confirmation that he is slated to become the country's next leader.

The announcement was published in state media hours before a historic Workers' Party meeting Tuesday where Kim, 68 and apparently in deteriorating health, was expected to grant son Kim Jong Un and other family members top posts in plans to take the communist dynasty into a third generation.

However, with Kim Jong Un still in his 20s and politically inexperienced, Kim Jong Il may tap his sister to oversee an eventually transfer of power, experts say.

Sister Kim Kyong Hui, 64, was among six people promoted to general along with Kim Jong Un, and her name was listed ahead of Kim Jong Un's in the Korean Central News Agency report

She and her husband, Jang Song Thaek, appointed a vice chairman of the all-powerful National Defense Commission in June, also are expected to win key political appointments that would allow them to act as advisers to the young Kim during his rise to power.
From the Associated Press

This seems fair to me after all he passed up older siblings to crown his youngest son, so he must be the most qualified for the position.

GM (genetically modified) foods coming soon

A genetically modified salmon, rear, and a non-genetically modified salmon, foreground. Photograph: AP

So I was speed-reading this article about genetically modified (aka GM) salmon when my eyes came crashing to a halt in this paragraph.

But amid the rush to spread GM's reach and scope, at least one government has recently had second thoughts. Muhyiddin Yassin, Malaysia's deputy prime minister, last week announced his government would not be releasing genetically modified male Aedes mosquitoes capable of sterilising female mosquitoes. "We must consider several aspects of the proposed release, including its impact on the environment," Yassin said. "In addition, the release of the mosquitoes must be endorsed by several international organisations."

More here:

Let me just say this ... I have no problem at all with GM food.

Yes, "several international organizations" must approve the release and possible eradication of mosquitoes.  I love how libs are always claiming the world is going to end if we use our knowledge in any way that alters nature ... as if the earth is going to care.

Hey, here we are, on the precipice of eradicating mosquitoes for good and is there any sense of urgency about it?  When is the proposal going to be "considered" by our great masters?  Is there a schedule?  Or is it just "whenever they're damn well good and ready?"

I predict there is nobody on earth who will take responsibility for  approving this.  They don't  shit about what might happen and they know it.  They'll just deny it under some  nebulous "we'll all die" scenario ... pussies.

Cheating crybaby

So a couple of weeks ago my congressman ran a political ad against his opponent.  The ad contained blatant lies and other intentionally misleading statements.  When his opponent responded, my congressman sends me an email containing the following:
Ilario Pantano's latest ad is a total distortion of Congressman Mike McIntyre's strong and consistent fight to abolish the Death Tax. Pantano is intentionally misleading the voters of Southeastern North Carolina.
Oh, boo hoo, *sniff sniff* how unfair.  I certainly hope nobody gets what they deserve in this fiasco.

By the way, my congressman came to his senses after there was a big uproar about his negative ad and he pulled the offending ad.

I don't think the current crop of incumbents really "get" the anger of the people.  It's amazing too because the message is simple ... stop pushing us around and stop stealing our money ... that's it ... and it would be nice if you could reform the tax system while you're at it.

Piece of crap terrorist denied big-shot status at college?

In a very unusual move, University of Illinois trustees Thursday denied giving emeritus status to controversial retired professor William Ayers.

The vote, at a U. of I. board meeting in Urbana, was unanimous and came after a passionate speech by board chair Christopher Kennedy, who invoked the 1968 assassination of his father, Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, in saying that he was voting his conscience.

The other trustees, without comment, also voted against the appointment.

Ayers, the Vietnam War-era radical, had been an education faculty member at UIC since 1987. He retired effective Aug. 31 and then sought the emeritus faculty status, a largely honorific title that includes some benefits such as library privileges.

A co-founder of the Weather Underground anti-war group, Ayers was frequently in the media spotlight and, as such, was one of the university's best-known faculty members.

While trustees regularly vote on emeritus appointments, they rarely comment about them.

But in an emotional statement, Kennedy discussed his reasons for voting against Ayers' request.

"I am guided by my conscience and one which has been formed by a series of experiences, many of which have been shared with the people of our country and mark each of us in a profound way," Kennedy said.

He said he could not confer the title "to a man whose body of work includes a book dedicated in part to the man who murdered my father."

Kennedy was referring to a 1974 book co-authored by Ayers, "Prairie Fire," which was dedicated to a long list of people including Robert Kennedy assassin Sirhan Sirhan and "all political prisoners in the U.S."

More here:

Why shucks, being an anti-American piece of shit terrorist just ain't what it used to be in terms of making one a big shot on campus, eh, Billy?

This dumbass was making bombs and blowing things up but he calls the Tea Party people violent Nazi's ... right, Billy? Let me put my feelings this way, Billy ... I sure hope you don't actually get what you deserve.

Oh crap, he lived ... oh well, we almost got rid of one

When police were called out to a robbery at their local Wal-Mart , the suspected thief appeared to vanish into thin air.

For about 40 minutes on Wednesday morning, officers in Alliance, Ohio searched the area for a suspect who was accused of trying to sneak about $1,000 worth of merchandise out of the superstore's side door.

Then the police got a call from an man claiming to be his friend.

Alliance Police Lt. William Morris told Fox 8 News that the caller told police that his friend, James Brienzo, 37, had used his mobile phone to get help.

He was 'hiding in a dumpster behind a Wal-Mart in Alliance and he was hiding from police and it was just picked up and dumped in a trash truck and they were mobile and he needed help.'

Emergency operators also took a 911 call from a frantic Brienzo, begging them to find the truck. 'I'm in the back of a trash truck that keeps compacting me!' Brienzo said as dispatchers urged him to calm down.

Police say Brienzo was literally being compacted along with between six and eight tons of rubbish mostly discarded cardboard.

Yet ANOTHER reason to hate and revile Governor Chris Christie

Hate and revile him- you know- if you're a Lib.

Libs and advertising.

When you let idiots do their own thinking, this is what you get:

America, stop listening and start watching.

This is a humorous video I came across today at IHTM. Notice how delusional this woman is. Notice how she blames everybody but herself. Notice how she's oblivious as to the fact that it's illegal to be an illegal immigrant who has been residing in the country for 20 years. Notice how it's perfectly okay with her that her expenses are inexplicably paid for (she claims that God pays her expenses but we all know that Libs don't believe in God). Notice how she sees absolutely no correlation at all between the fact that her nephew is the president of the United States and the fact that she's no longer being forced to leave the country. Of course to her, he's not her nephew but her "child"- "Don't you bring my child into this".

Now, you might say that it's a step in the right direction that the media is even reporting this story at all but that's my point. That's all they're doing and that's all that'll happen. The greatest accomplishment of the crooked and the sneaky is to state the truth but then do exactly as they please to serve their own selfish needs.

It has been said so many times that it's trite but if you really want to judge a man's character, don't listen to what he says, watch what he does.

I agree with John Stewart.

I thought Obama would do a better job too.

More here.

My favorite part of the interview was where Bill O'Reilly asked John Stewart if he "bought into the whole Messiah thing when he was campaining?" and Mr. Stewart retorted, "I don't buy the Messiah thing with the Messiah" (because Mr. Stewart is Jewish see).

Extinction is inevitable yet Libs still flail to make it stop.

Unsurprisingly, Blockbuster video has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Frankly, I don't know what they're trying to protect. They were about 10 years late to the latest phase (streaming video) of video delivery to consumers and about 5 years late to the phase before that (mailing videos with no late fees).

Anyone can agree that their demise was inevitable. Blockbuster was perhaps the only one who thought Netflix was a flash in the pan joke. By the time they realized that this was their competition, so many consumers had already made the switch that there was nothing Blockbuster could have done to get them back.

Instead of wisely throwing in the towel, they chose to follow in Netflix's footsteps 5 years late. Copying the eating habits of a competing species in an environment with limited forage is never the way to compete. Today, they announced the inevitable. They're going extinct.

They failed to adapt quickly enough, they failed to anticipate future trends, they failed to adjust to a rapidly changing environment. As a direct result of these three failures, they went out of business. Toes up. Dead.

If this company was an off-white, spotted owl, the Libs would be all over it. They'd be claiming that we must preserve their environment. They'd be picketing to stop the evil corporation Netflix for the damage they've done to this poor, defenseless creature. They'd raise and spend millions on their quest. And Blockbuster would still become extinct. But they it isn't and they don't.

I know it's a lot easier to fall in love with a fluffy little ball of feathers than it is a brick and mortar corporation but really, they're two birds of a different feather. In the brutal world of nature, it's adapt or die and it's not only inevitable that species will become extinct, it's by design.

In "God is Not Great" written by Christopher Hitchens (perhaps the only book I've been tempted to throw away like last week's People magazine), he whines that God is not great because 99% of all species that ever existed are now extinct. He claims that a truly great God would never let that happen.

Clearly this guy doesn't get the concept of God (or of a fish aquarium either). It certainly never occurred to him that God likes change. Clearly though, humans (ok- mostly Libs) don't like change. They want to keep things exactly as they are so they can control them. What Mr. Hitchens is missing is that God is still in control even in the midst of chaos but his little pea brain can't understand that so he calls it weakness.

I long for the day that Libs see animal species the same way I see corporations- it's survival of the fittest. Imagine what a gazelle would look like if there were no predators? I seriously doubt it would be so spry and elegant as it is. The reason our world is blessed with so many beautiful animals is that all the stupid, fat and slow ones are gone. This is by design.

The Klown still trying to get in the fight

So a few days ago I clicked on the "Volunteer Opportunities" button on Ilario Pantano's website (congressional candidate in my district.) A few days passed with no answer and I wrote about it in the blog a few posts below this one. (Still haven't had an answer.)

However, it looks like Wombat tried and got an answer (below.) I noted that Wombat used gmail. "Coincidentally" one of my emails was "kicked back" to the campaign due to someone entering my email address as Gmail instead of Hotmail. Seriously, these peeps need help.

As you can imagine, the campaign is running wide open and volunteer opportunities abound.

We need volunteers in the office at 2250 Shipyard Blvd, Suite 10, Wilmington, NC, Monday-Friday, 9am-8pm. Saturday hours are 9am-3pm. We also have opportunities outside of the office if you are interested.

Volunteers are needed for sign prep and distribution, phone calls, door to door precinct walks, direct mail prep, and hand addressing envelopes, just to name a few.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns regarding volunteer opportunities.

Thank you for your interest and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Ok, this is a little over an hour's drive from my house so I probably won't be volunteering in the office ... but I probably wouldn't mind driving up there to pick up signs, literature to hand out, knocking on doors, etc etc.

Meanwhile ... "hand address" envelopes? Sure, just let me jump in the old Way-Back machine, Sherm. Have they heard of software that prints out addresses onto address labels? Perhaps not. Or, maybe they think that hand-addressing is classier? Anyway, I may be giving them a call shortly. I'll keep you posted. I'm sure you're all on the edge of your seats.

By the way, if you live in North Carolina's 7th congressional district, and you want to volunteer, here's the info:

My congressman receives an honor

Well, whaddya know ... with six weeks to go before the election, suddenly, they've decided to "honor" my congressman.  Who are "they," you ask?  Is is a public civic group?  Is it someone whose life was impacted by the affirmative action of this congressman? Why, no ... it's a "Democratic" state senator.  What a shocker.

This is probably ALL on the up & up, wouldn't you say?  The timing is probably just a coinkydink.  Surely these trustworthy politicians wouldn't pull a cheap stunt like this just to keep their jobs, would they?  Nah, they're "public servants" and their only interest is serving with humility and protecting our freedom and property.

I better attend this honorable "honoring" so I'll know how great my congressman is.  I wonder how much it's costing me.  Baaaa - Bleat.

Jimmy Carter - Maybe It's Alzheimer's?

From an interview with the "very conservative" Brian Williams of NBC News.

I-- I feel that my role as a former president is probably superior to that of other presidents. Primarily because of the activism and the-- and the injection of working at the Carter Center and in international affairs, and to some degree, domestic affairs, on energy conservation, on-- on environment, and things of that kind. We're right in the midst of the-- of the constant daily debate.

And-- and-- and the Carter Center has decided, under my leadership, to fill the vacuums in the world. When-- when the United States won't deal with troubled areas, we go there and we meet their leaders who can bring an end to a conflict, or an end to human rights abuse, and so forth. So I-- I feel that have an advantage over many other former presidents in being involved in daily affairs that have shaped the policies of our nation and the world.

BRIAN WILLIAMS: And do you think you're treated differently because of that?

JIMMY CARTER: Yeah, sometimes. And I can understand that. For instance, we-- I just got back from a trip to North Korea. We haven't had a-- a day of peace talks with North Korea since 2009. And this is one of the-- needs in the global affairs, is to bring about denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, and also to have a permanent peace agreement between the United-- among the United States and-- South Korea and North Korea.

We go there. I go to Pyongyang. I meet with their leaders. I talk to them. I bring back their messages to the State Department and to the White House. And-- and I think we fill, you know, a legitimate need. But I can see how it makes sometimes the incumbent president uncomfortable to have me doing things of this kind, when political niceties don't let-- him or his administration do them.

BRIAN WILLIAMS: There goes Jimmy Carter again.

JIMMY CARTER: That's true.

This POS still thinks that he matters, let alone that his presidency (or post presidency) even compares to those who followed?? His legacy will be of a gas crisis, 15% mortgage rates, and the inception of terrorism from the Middle East. May he just STFU. But I could be wrong

Words Mean Things...

Tuesday Taste of the "Town"

Their menu here.

It’s a 1950’s era theme, one big black and white room, with pictures of Elvis, old gas station signs, that sort of kitsch. Very white and very bright, and pretty clean.

Confused is the word that comes to mind. Our server, upon hearing the complexity of EK’s burger condiments, realized mid-order that her memory skills were insufficient. She came back with a writing implement, and all was well. Don’t be in a hurry, as it takes surprisingly long for your food to arrive – but oddly, we never saw our original waitress again.

Excellent, juicy, hot burgers with a well steamed bun. We both had double cheeseburgers. I had the onion rings which were crispy, hot, and not over-battered. Overall, a bit greasy, but what’s not to like about that?

EK devoured his burger and fries (after adding mass quantities of ketchup – as is his wont - but alas, there was no mustard on the table). So far, very early in the Quest, this is the best burger yet. A-

I say highly recommended. This is a surprisingly large chain in NC, and it’s easy to see why. Simple, with very tasty food. Next time I’ll try their “frozen custard” – I’m guessing it’s just soft-serve like Dairy Queen.

This happened after our departure, actually. The food, while seeming to be of average size proportions, was so gut-filling that it spoiled our concomitant happy hour – neither of us even wanted (or needed) a second beer. Which, I must tell you, is a “WTF? Event” in and of itself. The single burger will suffice in the future.

My congressional district race - North Carolina 7th

Mike McIntyre

My current congressman is Mike McIntyre. He's a "Democratic" who has been in office since 1997. He has surprised me a number of times by voting against the stimulus, against the bailouts, etc etc but he still votes with Pelosi a lot. What I'm trying to say is, it could be worse, much worse, but at least he isn't a HUGE lefty.

One of my main problems with him is he does not support the Fair Tax. I have written him many times about it but he has chosen to stick with the status quo which means taxing everything that is visible and invisible. I think the Fair Tax would go a long way in taking power from government and stopping their ability to spend and create new agencies every time one of those morons drops his bottled water.

So what are the chances of electing a conservative in this district ... let's just take a gander at the history, shall we?

Yes, so ... just after the Civil War about 140 years ago ... I guess we're "due." Also, it cracks me up that they call the Democrats "Democratic." Of course, Wikipedia is a lefty site so they'll take every opportunity at the brainwashing, similar to the mainstream media.

His opponent this time around is Ilario Pantano. To tell you the truth, I wasn't very excited about the race given the history and all ... I sort of gave it the "what chance do we have" attitude and didn't pay him much attention.

A couple of weeks ago I noticed a political ad run by McIntyre. It claimed his opponent supported "putting a 23% tax on everything you buy" (a clear reference to the Fair Tax and a blatant, disgusting, misrepresentation and lie.) That was it. I decided this race needed my attention.

Ilario Pantano

I checked out his website and decided to use the "Contact" link to send an email asking about his position on the Fair Tax. I wait a week, no answer. So I email back again with the following:
About a week ago I used this form to ask whether you supported the Fair Tax or not. I never got a reply. I'm not impressed.

This time I got a response ... here is:

Evil Klown, my original reply to you on Ilario's behalf got kicked back and I didn't follow it up because I thought that in light of all the raucous hoopla surrounding Ilario's stance on the Fair Tax (McIntyre has been running false advertising about it) and our own response ads, I thought your email was unserious. We get a lot of that.

So when I went back to check on your contact info, I noticed that you spell "klown" with a "k" - and I had typed it in to my email wrong. (And I also got lost for 45 minutes last week when my nav system took me to Lazy Trl, instead of Lazee Trl. The cutesiness is killin' me! ;)

To answer your original question: yes, IP is in support of the FairTax. You can see his position noted here: 2010 NC Statewide_Candidate_Scorecard_Post

Sorry for the delay in properly responding to you. I, for one, am impressed you persisted.

Heidi Thiess
E-Campaign Director

Update: And it just got kicked back again because I tried sending it to gmail instead of hotmail. I am havin' a hell of a Monday! Oy.

Ok, nav system? Lazy Trl vs Lazee Trl? I finally figured out she meant the navigation system in her car.  She lives in Texas and her ability to distinguish between "K" vs "C," "Hotmail" vs "Gmail" etc is somehow extending itself to her navigation system and causing a lot of inexplicable results ... "Oy."

Also, I say "hell" all the time but never in correspondence with an unknown person. I mean, is it just me? I'm going to have to call a huge "nay" on that.

Ok, so he supports the Fair Tax -- cool -- I'm getting more excited about things. I still know we probably won't win but that's cool. I want to feel like I've tried. So I use his website again to click on the "Volunteer Opportunities." You know, I figure I can plant signs, knock on doors, make phone calls ... SOMETHING so I feel Like I've made an effort rather than just talking shit all the time.

Well, that was two or three days ago and I haven't heard anything yet. Amazing huh? What else, there was something else ... oh yeah ... when you go to his website there's a section called "10 things you can do." So I checks 'er out and a couple of the things are to check out his Facebook page and his Twitter etc ... so I checks 'em out.

My first impressions? A bit of a religious nut. Why? Because the first thing that pops out at me when visiting these pages isn't policy but religion. Check them for yourself to see if I'm being overly sensitive.

Anyway, nosir, don't like it. Why? Because, in my opinion, people who think it's necessary to blast their religious beliefs at every opportunity also think YOU should be following their religion. And congressmen with massive power can make that happen to varying degrees. Try to buy a beer around here on Sunday morning and see how you do ... the Taliban doesn't like that idea and it ensures YOU will follow their religious beliefs.

Ok, so ... Pantano supports the Fair Tax and wants to cut spending and stop the massive growth of government. Bottom Line - given the alternatives, I am going to vote for Pantano. I might even do some volunteer work for him if I ever hear back from his campaign.

Incompetent boobs squandering money

The Los Angeles City Controller said on Thursday the city's use of its share of the $800 billion federal stimulus fund has been disappointing.

The city received $111 million in stimulus under American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) approved by the Congress more than year ago.

"I'm disappointed that we've only created or retained 55 jobs after receiving $111 million," says Wendy Greuel, the city's controller, while releasing an audit report.

Erm, isn't that about 2 million curp per job?  Let me just say this, if I were to come into 2 million curp tomorrow, I can think of about three businesses I could start within a month which would put about 15 people to work.  Now, if a complete idiot such as myself could do it, what's stopping the geniuses and masterminds?  More here:

You think I'm kidding about the lefties being geniuses? Take a listen to one of their leaders in the following video. How can you argue with his rock-solid logic? Keep voting for them.

Ok, these are good action

Lately there's been some discussion and prattle about M&M's creepy commercial about their pretzel M&M's.  It occurred to me they might be good but not good enough to actually plunk down some money to try them.

I saw some reviews and people kept saying they liked Flipz chocolate covered pretzels.  Still ... not that interested.

So this morning I was in a CVS Drug Store buying some occasion cards and these happened to catch my eye ... hmmmm, quothe I .... peanut butter chocolate pretzels.  I couldna resist trying them.

VERDICT:  Highly recommended (with caveat) - DO NOT let them melt.   I knew from reading the previous reviews that this is a potential problem with these snacks. I took mine straight home and put them in the fridge.

Possible trouble brewing?

My friend's wife brought home a new shirt.

The Democrats have a new logo and I have a new t-shirt.

They think that a new logo will change anything. It won't. Also, you'd think they'd have a better art department the way they fawn over "artists".

More on their logo here.

Dear Mr. President:
During my shift in the Emergency Room last night, I had the pleasure of evaluating a patient whose smile revealed an expensive shiny gold tooth, whose body was adorned with a wide assortment of elaborate and costly tattoos, who wore a very expensive brand of tennis shoes and who chatted on a new cellular telephone equipped with a popular R&B ringtone.

While glancing over her patient chart, I happened to notice that her payer status was listed as "Medicaid"! During my examination of her, the patient informed me that she smokes more than one pack of cigarettes every day, eats only at fast-food take-outs, and somehow still has money to buy pretzels and beer. And, you and our Congress expect me to pay for this woman's health care? I contend that our nation's "health care crisis" is not the result of a shortage of quality hospitals, doctors or nurses. Rather, it is the result of a "crisis of culture" a culture in which it is perfectly acceptable to spend money on luxuries and vices while refusing to take care of one's self or, heaven forbid, purchase health insurance. It is a culture based in the irresponsible credo that "I can do whatever I want to because someone else will always take care of me". Once you fix this "culture crisis" that rewards irresponsibility and dependency, you'll be amazed at how quickly our nation's health care difficulties will disappear.

If you agree...pass it on.

Meanwhile, Libs everywhere are screaming "RACIST!" even though he mentions race nowhere in the note.

The Meat Dress

OK - I'm not a Lady Gaga fan. But wearing a "dress" covered in raw meat at the VMA's, and then rebuffing PETA for getting pissed off about it - I think that's pretty cool. Maybe I'll be a fan.

Nope. Not gonna happen - I've seen better looking "female impersonators". And her music is, well, just awful.

But I really dig the meat dress.

Tuesday Taste of the "Town"

Several weeks ago, the Klown approached me with a "Quest": to seek out the best of certain types of restaurant/bar food in our area; specifically cheeseburgers and pizza. I readily agreed, it sounded like fun. Go out to lunch once a week and muse on our findings. Here is a quick synopsis on our first foray into cheeseburger heaven (and often more like purgatory). I'm sure the format will change a bit over time, as I may add some bells, whistles, and links. Apologies (or perhaps congratulations) to those of you who are outside our dining zone.

It has the feeling of a beach house, even though it’s not right on the beach. Big place with several different dining areas. We sat in the bar area at a tall table.

Absolutely awful. We had two different male servers, neither knew what the other was doing. See “WTF?” below.

I had a fish taco – it really was pretty decent for fried “somekindafish”. Fries are too big for my liking.

EK said it was “OK” – it looked overcooked and small to me. EK likes those big steak fries. Of course, with all the ketchup and mustard he pours on, how could you tell?

I won’t go back. Kind of expensive ($3 bottled beer, unless you can stomach PBR). I never felt welcome. C-

Our dining companion (yes – she was cute), went to the bar to ask for a glass of water (literally 10 feet from our table). Five minutes later, I went to the “bartender” to check on the water status – I was told “I turned that over to your server – he didn’t bring it yet?” It showed up several minutes later. Weak.

Obama bans American oil drilling in Gulf, backs $1 billion loan to help Mexico drill in Gulf.

There is not much more to say about this so I'll just provide a link to IHTM.

Despite President Obama’s moratorium on U.S. deepwater drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, the U.S. Export-Import Bank intends to guarantee $1 billion in loans to PEMEX, the Mexican state oil company, to bolster the company’s oil drilling in the region.

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf- If you move the ground zero mosque, we will blow your faces off.

That's the message being sent- if you insist that we not build the mosque near ground zero as a thinly veiled monument to our conquest of your American capitalism, we will blow shit up. No- of course we don't support terrorism and of course we don't condone it but if you don't let us dance all over your infidel graves, we will retaliate zealously.

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf insisted today that moving the Islamic community center and mosque from the site near ground zero under the current circumstances would threaten U.S. national security.

“We have two audiences,” the Imam told ABC News’ Christiane Amanpour late Thursday afternoon. “We have the American audience and we have the Muslim audience. And this issue has riveted the attention of the whole Muslim world. And whatever we do, and whatever we say and how we move and the discourse about it is being watched very, very closely. And if we make the wrong move, it will only expand and strengthen the voice of the radicals and the extremists,” he said.

“There are any number of wrong moves. But the basic theme of the wrong moves is if there is a perception or the perception is created, real or not, that Muslims are under attack,” Rauf said. “Let’s say we moved under this current circumstance with this dialogue. What will be the headline tomorrow in the Muslim world?” the Imam asked rhetorically. “‘Islam under attack in America.’ That’s the theme of it. ‘Mosque forcibly removed by whatever.’ That will feed the radicals. So diffusing terrorism is a necessity for our national security,” he said.
I know what you're thinking. This is exactly like the neighbor you know all too well. They're clean and innocent and law-abiding citizens. They don't mind anything you do it's just that the local gangs... well they might have something to say about it if you go ahead and keep it up. Not a threat... just a warning... just giving you a little friendly advice.

This classic tactic is one of the most reprehensible acts of cowardice and demonstrations of a complete lack of character.

Inez Sainz complainz about harassment painz.

From FoxSports:

Ines Sainz, a reporter for Mexico's TV Azteca doing a story on quarterback Mark Sanchez, had footballs thrown in her direction by a Jets coach during practice, and players later called out to her in the team's locker room.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Sunday that the league and the Jets began looking into the situation when they were made aware of it Saturday night.
Ms. Sainz claimed, "Some people said I was dressed inappropriately when covering the Jets but I was dressed exactly like this! Some jeans and a button down white shirt is not inappropriate!" I guess she's so used to talking to Libs that she no longer can detect completely ridiculous statements. She actually has convinced herself that she did nothing wrong. Thank the Lord for a lack of tort reform because now the Jets are evaluating the situation and ascertaining what it is that they did wrong and how they can prevent it from happening in the future.

Oh by the way, this is the outfit in question:

A cursory search on Google images demonstrates that this outfit is nothing new or unusual for this professional journalist.

I can't help but think that her choice of clothing isn't coincidental. I suspect that she realized early on that if she dressed a particular way that she might gain easier access to a particular venue or take priority over other professionals when pursuing an interview.

The fact that female professionals deserve the same level of respect as their male contemporaries is not in dispute. However, that respect goes both ways. To expect that you can enter the field at a sporting event- or even a practice- dressed in anything less than business professional is at best delusional.

It's my expectation that nothing is going to come of this but the fact that it's getting any press at all is ludicrous. Of course she has the right to dress any way she wishes and she has the right to be treated with respect but that doesn't mean that she's right for doing it. Sometimes, you actually have to think for yourself if you want to lead a drama-free life. Of course, a big stink is being made of this incident because Libs want to do everything within their power to destroy individual thought and individual responsibility.

We will stand up to radical islamists! (Unless they object).

Pastor Terry Jones announced on NBC's "Today" show Saturday that they've decided not to burn Korans:

"We will definitely not burn the Koran, no...Not today, not ever," Jones said. "Even though we have not burned one Koran, we have gotten over 100 death threats...We feel that God is telling us to stop, and we also hope that ... maybe that will open up the door to maybe be able to talk to the Imam [Feisal Abdul Rauf]."

Found at NewsBusters.
Uh... right. You want to protest Radical Islamists but when the inevitable death threats start rolling in from the religion of perpetual outrage peace, you back down. Great job. Reinforce their bad behavior and then wonder what went wrong. When are people going to realize that Radical Islamists have a knee-jerk reaction of making death threats whenever anyone hurts their feelings.

It's as if they're all graduates of the Francis Soyer Charm School:

Furthermore, they will attempt to the best of their ability to follow through on these ridiculous threats and will likely get the full support of other Radical Islamists and the passive support of Muslims everywhere.

Thankfully, we have people like this on our side. These Lib geniuses decided to create a facebook page to show hatred for America support for Radical Islam on 9/11.

Join us! If you are also horrified by the recent outrageous fear mongering of the right wing against American Muslims then here is a way to push back. I am not a Muslim but I plan to wear the hijab on 9/11 as a gesture to American Muslims that they are full citizens of this country and deserve the same rights as the rest of us. Concerned men might wear skull caps in solidarity with us women. From Moonbattery.

Just so you're not left out.

The Koran burning - Hullabaloo, Brouhaha, or Donnybrook?

Well, I've been hearing stories lately ... of some preacher who's planning to burn some Korans. Apparently this is going to radicalize some Muslims and make them hate us. Shucks, just when everyone loved us too. This preacher has really thrown a turd in the punch bowl, eh?

If only it weren't for this preacher and his Koran-burning ways everything would be fine with the Muslim world.

I also love how our president (and other bozo politicians) BEGS the guy not to burn the Korans. I love how General Petraeus acts like he's afraid for our troops ... as if, ALL OF A SUDDEN,  OUT OF THE BLUE, the people they're at war with are going to try to kill them.  I mean, if we had known that, we'd have brought weapons with us.  LMAO @ "Shitcan the free speech 'reverend', it might get some people killed."

Yes, everyone knows that the US President/government/military can and SHOULD be able to control the speech of the citizens, so, if it doesn't then it's ok for Muslims to take it out on the troops and/or other US citizens.

Let me ask this .... does the president ever condemn Muslims for burning the bible or burning the American flag? Do ANY politicians complain when Muslims are using RPG's to blow through the doors of a church and then burn all the bibles and break all the crosses?

There's a problem here folks and Koran-burning isn't it.  We need to do like the President says and just shut up.  Some people are trying to say that Muslims are threatening you. Don't worry, those Muslims aren't serious ... it's just a joke.

Just remember this.  If you EVER have anything to negative say about Muslims, you are "provoking" them and you deserve what you get. Don't claim you weren't warned.

Video - potential brown out

A commenter at J-Walk linked to this video. It was implied the shot was "over the sow's head" (on purpose.) I find that hard to believe ... unless the bear was really MUCH further away than the video implies (which I am inclined to believe.)

Otherwise it looks to me like he missed the bear and decided not to shoot again once he saw it was bolting. Anyway, hitting a charging (at you,) zig-zagging bear with a pistol? I mcdoubt it.

Rush Limbaugh, Pastor Terry Jones Were High School Classmate
Terry Jones, the Florida pastor threatening to burn a Koran tomorrow on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, was a high school classmate of Rush Limbaugh....
MSNBC's Keith Olbermann was one of the first to call attention to the Limbaugh/Jones nexus when he posted news of it on Twitter overnight: " 'Rev.' Terry Jones was classmate of none other than Rush Limbaugh (Cape Central class of '69). Coincidence?"
President Obama attended a church led by Rev. Jeremiah Wright for 20 years and that's "irrelevant" but a high school classmate of Rush Limbaugh is at all interesting? First of all, high school lasts 3 years (and 4 years in some places). Also, Mr. Limbaugh graduated high school over 40 years ago and there's no evidence at all that he even knew Terry Jones. "Great job", Olbermann. You really did your homework. For your next trick maybe you can find your ratings.

Black is the new black.

"I can't feel my face" is the new "I can't breathe".

And the funniest comment award goes to "This is why we can't have nice things."

The religion of peace speaks but does not threaten.

“If we move from that location, the story will be the radicals have taken over the discourse, the headlines in the Muslim world will be that Islam is under attack. Our national security now hinges on how we negotiate this, how we speak about it. The battlefront is between moderates of all sides… and the radicals on all sides,” he said.

Moving the project to another location would strengthen Islamist radicals’ ability to recruit followers and will likely increase violence against Americans, the imam said
The religion of perpetual outrage peace expresses kind and polite feelings that any attempts to stop an expression of freedom of religion- a concept that made this country great- would be viewed unfavorably in the community of the religion of peace. These are not violent people and only wish to cooperate with all citizens of the U.S. and to do what will make everyone happy to the best of their abilities.

They are a religion of peace and tolerance and therefore don't understand the resistance to their plans to build a mosque to honor the lives lost on 9/11. They're confused but willing to understand the arguments against this religious cultural center. Everybody knows that Muslims have spent centuries breaking new ground in the area of cultural tolerance and have developed a rock solid reputation for changing their ways to accommodate those with whom they disagree.

I personally think that we should use these people as a model of what a good American is and we should do everything in our power to convince our friends and families to do exactly as the wise and revered Imam advises. Let's face it- they are the only ones who truly know what's best for us.

Yours Truly,
Wombat the Lib.

Will the communing never cease?

Any idiot can see that the lion was giving the food a "what are you looking at?" look right before dining. Clearly the "trainer" should have received more training before getting into the diorama with Mr. Crankypants. What I also found humorous was the female lion trying to talk him out of his zealous pursuit of entertainment. She must have been his wife because every married man knows full well that wives hate it when they think we're having fun.

Climate change logically explained and dissected. Libs everywhere are outraged.

This is actually the sequel to a video that has over 7,000,000 views but explains the theory better. You might already have heard the arguments the speaker makes but he does so clearly and concisely and (horrors) logically. If you'd like to enhance your enjoyment of the video, take the time to read the comments on youtube. Libs everywhere are outraged at the audacity of using logic and sense to make an argument.

Homeless people are outraged!

Homeless people are outraged that McDonald's has raised its prices forcing them to find dining resources elsewhere. This really distressed me until one of my favorite TV commercials came on.

American Exceptionalism

During his public life, Barack Obama has often referred to his biracial background and itinerant childhood and has said, "In no other country on Earth is my story even possible." True.
But earlier this year, while attending the European summit of the Group of 20 major economic countries, the president was asked if he believed in American exceptionalism. He replied, "I believe in American exceptionalism, just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism, and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism."
Not exactly the way Mr. Reagan would have answered.

Good article from The Washington Times.

He's Always Been A Big Fan

Yet he's a bit weak on any names. Guess they didn't air the games in Kenya.

David Barton's U.S. Capitol tour.

They want you to somehow forget how this country was made. They especially want you to forget how important Christianity was to the founding of this country. They want you to believe not only will we be "just fine" without religion, we'll be better off without it. I do not agree.

Etymology of terms

Sometimes I wonder where the hell terms come from. Here are some recent examples of my wonderings.

Vaudeville:  The origin of the term is obscure, but is often explained as being derived from the expression voix de ville, or "voice of the city."

The term vaudeville, referring specifically to North American variety entertainment, came into common usage after 1871 with the formation of Sargent's Great Vaudeville Company of Louisville, Kentucky. It had little, if anything, to do with the Com├ędie en vaudeville of the French theatre. More here:

Numerary:  is a civil designation for persons who are incorporated in a fixed or permanent way to a society or group: regular member of the working staff, permanent staff, or member, distinguished from a supernumerary.

The term "numerary" and its counterpart, "supernumerary," originated in Spanish and Latin American academy and government; it is now also used in countries all over the world, such as France, the U.S., England, Italy, etc.

I was reading something the other day and came across this numerary word.  It made me think of my days in the army ... when we pulled guard duty they would put all the guards in formation and do an inspection.  The guy with the highest marks (best shined boots, brass, etc etc) was designated as the "Supernumerary."

Supernumerary: is an additional member of an organization. A supernumerary is also a non-regular member of a staff, a member of the staff or an employee who works in a public office who is not part of the manpower complement. Thus, a supernumerary could be an extra member or a temporary employee in addition to the permanent staff, or permanent members of a society

The supernumerary was then relieved of his duty and all he had to do was sit around and watch tv for the 24-hour duty call ... unless one of the other guards got injured or otherwise incapacitated, in which case the supernumerary would take over.  Anyway, I always wondered where that term came from.  Half of me thought the mucky-mucks were making it up or had an inside joke with it or something.  I never cared enough about it to look it up.

I did make supernumerary a time or two during my stint. One of the tricks was to ensure you didn't have any loose threads on your uniform ... particularly where your name tag or unit patches etc were sewn on your uniform.

Propeller recorded with a cell phone camera?

Hey, remember how stupid Bush was?

Of course you do ... and if you ever forget, the media will still remind you once in a while (if they ever take a break from telling you how stupid Sarah Palin and the Tea Party People are.) While Bush was in office, every time he made a mistake was an opportunity for the media to point it out and say how stupid he was.

Anyway, in case you didn't know, Obama just had the oval office remodeled (I guess it was really in bad shape so we had to spend a kazillion bucks to take care of it.)

A mistake has been made in the Oval Office makeover that goes beyond the beige.

President Obama's new presidential rug seemed beyond reproach, with quotations from Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy and the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. woven along its curved edge.

"The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." According media reports, this quote keeping Obama company on his wheat-colored carpet is from King.

Except it's not a King quote. The words belong to a long-gone Bostonian champion of social progress. His roots in the republic ran so deep that his grandfather commanded the Minutemen at the Battle of Lexington.

For the record, Theodore Parker is your man, President Obama.

Just add it to the list of "If Bush had done it...."

The Tea Party Is The Enemy - GET THEM!! GET THEM!!

Soros and the foundation left have launched a website designed to go after the growing Tea Party movement. will post video interviews and blog entries gathered by folks on the false left who never grow weary of demonstrating their outrage over the very idea of a grassroots political effort overthrowing establishment Democrats and Republicans in the district of corporate criminals. will be sponsored by the NAACP, Think Progress, New Left Media and Media Matters for America. Think Progress is a George Soros operation connected to John Podesta’s Center for American Progress. Podesta is Clinton’s former chief of staff. Media Matters for America is the brainchild of a MoveOn consultant and Podesta’s Center for American Progress. Soros is a major supporter of MoveOn.

More here:

Yes, those GD Tea Party people.  What do they think they're doing trying to oust the communists Democrats?  Why are they trying to stop the government from running up the debt even further?  Why do they want to stop the coming hyper-inflation (or, now that I think about it, deflation might even come first.) What do they have against the government telling us what kind of toilets & light bulbs we can use

One thing's for sure, George Soros has determined that the Tea Party people (that is to say ... YOU) are the enemy.

There's another thing too.  Aren't all these groups "non profits?"  I thought non-profits had to be non-partisan to get the tax exemption, didn't you?  Why doesn't the IRS investigate these groups to ensure they meet the requirements?  Too busy investigating Sarah Palin and the rest of those "right-wingers?"

Seriously folks -- we need to gain control of this government and start throwing every disgusting communist jackass out on the streets.  People like this have been  squirreled away inside our government  as bureaucrats and they can't be fired.  Therefore we just need to start eliminating "agencies."
