Watch out, he's going to "expose it."

A top Republican senator has ordered an investigation into the Environmental Protection Agency's alleged suppression of a report that questioned the science behind global warming.

The 98-page report, co-authored by EPA analyst Alan Carlin, pushed back on the prospect of regulating gases like carbon dioxide as a way to reduce global warming. Carlin's report argued that the information the EPA was using was out of date, and that even as atmospheric carbon dioxide levels have increased, global temperatures have declined.

"He came out with the truth. They don't want the truth at the EPA," Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla, a global warming skeptic, told FOX News, saying he's ordered an investigation. "We're going to expose it."

Expose it? Sure you will Senator. I"m sure the mainstream/government media can't WAIT to get this information to the public. Oh, trust me, they'll be all over it. My guess is they don't do one story on it -- not one. If they do, it will have the overtone of discrediting the writer of the report.

Specifically, the report noted that global temperatures were on a downward trend over the past 11 years, that scientists do not necessarily believe that storms will become more frequent or more intense due to global warming, and that the theory that temperatures will cause Greenland ice to rapidly melt has been "greatly diminished."

Oh really? I wonder what happens to you when you disagree with the Gestapo ... erm ... I mean the EPA. Surely they wouldn't fire reassign you would they? Only a low down piece of shit would do that ... right?

"It was reassigning you or losing my job, and I didn't want to lose my job," Carlin said, paraphrasing what he claimed were McGartland's comments to him. "My inference (was) that he was receiving some sort of higher-level pressure."

"I don't want you to spend any additional EPA time on climate change. No papers, no research, etc., at least until we see what EPA is going to do with climate," McGartland wrote. More here:

Spicy peanuts

Here is the real paragraph from their ad:

Buy our Jumbo Peanuts Cajun in Shell

With this nut snack , we’ve brought that spicy Cajun flavor all the way from the bayous of Louisiana to Virginia peanut country. If you want to “kick it up a notch” this is the healthy snack for you. More here:

"With this nut sack ... ?" LMAO. Somewhere there's a bunch of peanut executives sleeping. Or maybe they wear helmets to work.

Michael Jackson

The guy in this pic knew Jackson for a long time. He wrote an article. I read the whole thing.

By the way, last night I watched a special on him ... it seemed to me he lied repeatedly. At one point, he swore the children were his biological children. Judge for yourself. There is a pic of the kids sans masks at the link.

Congressman talketh sense

Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) had a few choice words about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-Calif.) landmark climate-change bill after its passage Friday.

When asked why he read portions of the cap-and-trade bill on the floor Friday night, Boehner told The Hill, "Hey, people deserve to know what's in this pile of s--t." More here:

By the way, My congressman voted against the TARP (one of only 10 Democrats to do so, ) voted against the bailouts, and he just voted against the idiot "Global Warming" bill. Of course, Democrats didn't want to call it the global warming bill so instead, they named it "The American Clean Energy and Security Act" ... cuz ... who could vote against that ... right?

Anyway, I went to check on how my congressman voted ... all ready to send him a brutal letter ... and SHOCKER ... he voted against it. He often votes against the Democrats and I used to be consistently surprised when he did ... but not so much anymore. I went ahead and sent him a letter thanking him for his votes on those issues and telling him I wish he would support the fair tax.

Anyway, if you give a half a damn how your congressman voted, you can click
here. If you don't give a damn, get off my blog and stay off, jackass.

Talent audition gone bad! - Watch more Funny Videos

Obama - do you believe him yet?

Democrats narrowly passed historic climate and energy legislation Friday evening that would transform the country’s economy and industrial landscape.

“We passed transformational legislation which takes us into the future,” Pelosi said at a press conference following the vote, after she and other leaders took congratulatory phone calls from Obama, former Vice President Al Gore and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. More here:

Yes, and what happens when energy prices "skyrocket?" Everything else goes up too ... I SAID "EVERYTHING ELSE GOES UP TOO!!" So, way to go, liberals/Dipshitocrats. I want to take this opportunity to thank all the good Americans who vote for Dipshitocrats. They are truly the party of the "working man" ... if by "working man" you mean very rich people and groups who are working non-stop to crush America.

Farrah gets wish

Saint Peter: Welcome Ms. Fawcett. You have lived a good life and suffered with dignity at the end. For that you get one wish.

Farrah: I wish for all the children of the world to be safe.

Friday Pins (Brunswick County Style)

Twelve women were arrested at four locations just after midnight Friday during a late-night prostitution sting led by the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers arrested five women at Close Encounters in Calabash, three at Smile Spa in the Thomasboro area, three at the Sun Spa in Longwood and one at Playmates in Calabash.
The women were charged with a combined 26 misdemeanor charges, including solicitation, prostitution, crimes against nature and performing illegal massages. The managers of the Smile Spa and Sun Spa were also charged with maintaining a place of prostitution and aid and abet prostitution.
Kudos to the sheriff's dept. It only took ten years to figure out that Playmates wasn't a late night day care center.

Scarying stack of chips

Oopsie daisy - this stack of chips looks like doom to me. Luckily, she had prepared her doom so it was no shock to her system.

Let's give away 10 million crisp

Hey, you know what the US Government should do right now?

It should give away 10 million crisp to improve education ... in Cambodia.

I continue to be amazed by the idiots/bureaucrats in government. It's as if they couldn't care less if they appear to be complete and total morons. Nothing will stop them. It's as if they look for the absolute DUMBEST-ASS thing they could do ... and then do it. Seriously, they couldn't appear dumber if they hired Harvard grads to research how to do it. They're EXPERTS at being dumbasses.

As if THAT weren't enough to prove how stupid they are (not to mention careless with my money,) how about if we give A HUNDRED THOUSAND CRISP to breed some fucking toads in Wyoming?

DVD Extras: The Making of...

I had to go deep deep undercover to find this tidbit. Deep!

Dave Letterman's top 10 for tonight's show.

This is just appauling! How can these people not be in jail for these irresponsible comments? HA, who am I kidding. This is some funny shit.

What? What's the problem?

ATLANTA | S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford arrived in the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport this morning, having wrapped up a seven-day visit to Buenos Aires, Argentina, he said. Sanford said he had not been hiking along the Appalachian Trail, as his staff said in a Tuesday statement to the media.

Sanford, in an exclusive interview with The State, said he decided at the last minute to go to the South American country to recharge after a difficult legislative session in which he battled with lawmakers over how to spend federal stimulus money.

Sanford said he decided not to return via the Columbia airport to avoid the media. The State Media Company was the only media who greeted Sanford this morning. Huh? Don't you think it's a little late to "avoid the media?"

"I don't know how this thing got blown out of proportion," Sanford said.

Sanford said he has taken adventure trips for years to unwind. He has visited such places as the coast of Turkey, the Greek Isles and South America. He was with friends sometimes and sometimes by himself.

"I would get out of the bubble I am in," Sanford said. More here:

Yeah ... sure ... sometimes I plan on going hiking and then, out of the blue, I decide Buenos Aires ... you know ... by myself ... without telling my wife or staff. Then I just hang out by myself ... for a week. I do it all the time ... gets me out of the bubble ... very relaxing. No big deal. Nothing more to know here ... everything makes perfect sense ... move along.

LMAO - 20 minutes after I wrote this blog post, look what shows up on Drudge.

Gov. Mark Sanford admitted today that his secret trip to Argentina over Father's Day weekend was to visit a woman he is having an affair with. More here:
Gee, who would have thunk it. Quite the mystery. Way to go, Republican jackasses. Give the media more ammo with which to smear conservatives. I mean, WHAT KIND OF AN IDIOT thinks ... AS GOVERNOR ... you can just disappear for a week or so without anyone getting suspicious. Must have been some good pussy.

The "tolerant" left

A high school teacher in Kansas who claimed his contract was not renewed due to his conservative political views has been reinstated

Tim Latham, 44, who was told that his school-affiliated Web site was "too patriotic," will return this fall to the 2,000-student Lawrence High School in Lawrence, Kan., where he'll continue teaching American history and government for a second consecutive year. Since the contract renewal became official late last week, Latham, a teaching veteran of 20 years, said he's received countless well-wishes from students and teachers alike.

During a meeting last September with Assistant Principal Jan Gentry, Latham claims Gentry mentioned his school-affiliated Web site, which she called "too patriotic." The site had links to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the Air Force, the U.S. Army and other military-and history-related sites.

He claimed the critiques took a personal turn in October, when class lessons began focusing on the presidential race between Obama and John McCain. One unidentified student has complained to Gentry that Latham had been too critical of Obama.

"I had been called into [Gentry's office] and was told I was picking on Obama in class," Latham said earlier this month. "But I didn't cover anything else that wasn't already covered by anybody else in the news."

Latham also said that Gentry asked him about a "McCain-Palin" bumper sticker on his car.

"She said, 'I don't know how you could support that woman,'" Latham said. "That was the beginning of what was going on. They were trying to find a reason to get rid of me."

Hey, I wonder if the government media will cover this.

You can read the rest here:

You can send Mr. Latham a congratulatory email (as I did) here.

Oh Look!

There ARE pins pics on the internet that don't look like they were taken in a trailer park!

African Thunderstorm

I hope you enjoy this as much as I did

Run away bravely - I SAID BRAVELY !

LMAO @ this video. First the protesters throw rocks at the cops -- then the cops throw rocks back. Hilarity ensues. Stay with it to the end -- prolly about 1 minute or so -- maybe two:

If you've been living under a rock for a week, this is in Iran.

Thanks to Ace:

Ever hear of Norman Thomas ??

The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism,' they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened." -

Norman Thomas, Six time U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate.

Yes -- later he said:

“I no longer need to run as a Presidential Candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democrat Party has adopted our platform.”

Ha, and people say Socialists are idiots.

The great Obama !!

Hey - want to know why the Iranians have risen up in protest of the recent election? The totally objective and unbiased New York Times has the answer -- the story in the NYT starts like this:

WASHINGTON — Could there be something to all the talk of an Obama effect, after all? A stealth effect, perhaps?
The great Obama! Is there no end to his wonderful impact on the world? HA HA, jackasses -- go bankrupt with the rest of the USA. The great Obama!

Never mind this paragraph a little later in the article.

"... and a great many Iranians who talked to pollsters, said was actually not about America at all; it was about Iran and its own problems, notably a highly disputable vote count and the performance of its president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad."

Nah, that's no reason to change our opening paragraph. Disregard that. THE GREAT OBAMA!!! Did we mention that Obama is GREAT? Hey ... Sheeple ... get it through your thick skulls.

So I'm on Zogby's list for polls. When they take a poll they send it to me in email. This morning I received one on health care. I want to tell you it was biased as hell. The way they phrased the questions was ridiculous.

It reminded me of a quiz that was designed for you to "learn" as you took the quiz. It felt less like a poll and more like a test that led you to the right answer. Of course, I answered the "questions" in the exact opposite way it led me.

Toward the end of the poll this page popped up -- click it to enlarge if necessary.

"Are you a NASCAR fan?"

"How often do you shop at Wal-Mart?"

What kinds of questions are these? What do they have to do with health care? How is this relevant? I guess they think the average person taking the poll won't ask himself these kinds of questions.

Could it be that they want to say "NASCAR fans are against nationalizing health care?" Do they want to denigrate "Wal-Mart" shoppers? What is the purpose? I think I know the answer and it has to do with the "pollsters" smelling of shit. You make up your own mind.

"Do you consider yourself a member of the investor class?"

What is the "investor class?" Do we have "classes" in America? Well, if we don't, why does Zogby use that term? Do you suppose it was an accident? Do you think it's an accident when the media use that term? Wasn't it Marx who was always talking about class warfare? Weren't you supposed to HATE the upper classes ... everything was their fault and so forth? Doesn't Saul Alinsky teach class warfare in his book (Obama's favorite) "Rules for Radicals?" Ever notice how ALL the leftists/communists use this term to agitate and set the people against themselves? And yet, we don't have classes in America. Funny, huh?

I'll tell you this much. I've ALWAYS been suspicious of polls since they hardly EVER seem to reflect intelligent views. I wonder to myself ... how can there be so many idiots who believe such and such. How do they skew these polls? I think I've found out. I wonder how long it will take Zogby to stop sending me invitations to take their "polls."

Gorilla pulls knife but doesn't go ape

It may look like gorilla warfare, but officials say the knife-wielding primate photographed by visitors to the Calgary Zoo had no violent intent.

The photos show a gorilla, named Barika, clutching the blade and pointing it at another gorilla in her cage.

The knife was accidentally left behind by a keeper who entered the enclosure to prepare food, Cathy Gaviller, the zoo's director of conservation, education and research said Wednesday.

Within minutes of picking up the blade, Barika placed it on a chair and all of the gorillas were called out of the enclosure, Gaviller said.

While gorillas will use crude tools in captivity, they have no concept of using weapons and would never have thought to be violent with the knife, Gaviller said. From here:

Sad signs for the future

Top 12 indicators that Obama's plan isn't working:

10. I went to buy a toaster oven and they gave me a bank.

9. Hot wheels and Matchbox car companies are now trading higher than GM in the stock market.

8. Obama met with small businesses - GE, Pfizer, Chrysler, Citigroup and GM, to discuss the Stimulus Package.

7. McDonalds is selling the 1/4 ouncer.

6 People in Beverly Hills fired their nannies and are learning their children's names.

5. The most highly-paid job is now jury duty.

4. People in Africa are donating money to Americans.

3. Motel Six won't leave the lights on.

2. The Mafia is laying off judges.

And my most favorite indicator of all.

1. If the bank returns your check marked as "insufficient funds," you have to call them and ask if they meant you or them.

Must ... have .... rabbits

TIGARD, Ore. (AP) - Authorities said a woman obsessed with rabbits is in trouble again: In violation of probation terms, she was found holed up in a hotel room with more than a dozen rabbits. Officers said they had to break into the room Tuesday and found eight adults and half a dozen baby rabbits, one dead. The police say some were caged, some roaming.

They arrested 47-year-old Miriam Sakewitz.

She was arrested in 2007 with more than 250 rabbits in squalid conditions. In a plea deal, she was forbidden to have animals for five years.

Before her conviction, police said, she broke into a holding area to retrieve her rabbits. Four months after the plea deal, she was sent to jail for three days for having a rabbit. From here:

This woman wants rabbits and SHE MUST BE STOPPED!

What to think about the election in Iran ??

John Bolton rightfully throws a bit of cold water on all the unfounded hopes placed on Mousavi.

DrewM over at Ace's blog cautions:

"As always with the 'Stache of Justice, read the whole thing. "

[Bolten] The media’s endlessly incorrect narrative about struggles between “moderates” and “hard-liners” within the Islamic Revolution of 1979 will doubtless continue, because abandoning it now would be admitting the intellectual poverty of three decades of Western reporting. It would have been easier if outsiders had from the outset understood the debate between the regime’s moderates and hard-liners this way: Hard-liners like Ahmadinejad want to continue Iran’s nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs and boast about “wiping Israel off the map.” By contrast, the moderates want to continue Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs but remain silent, thus more effectively deluding many willing Westerners.

Make no mistake, as the post-election demonstrations have demonstrated, there is enormous opposition to Iran’s existing government structure, and indeed to the entire Islamic Revolution of 1979. Young people (those under 30 constitute approximately 70 percent of the total population) are unhappy and know they could have a different life if freed from harsh clerical rule. Economic grievances are massive, after 30 years of theologians mismanaging the economy. And ethnic discontent (only about 50 percent of the population is Persian) is widespread.

But giving effect to this discontent was never in the cards in the June 12 election, which was intended to bolster the Islamic Revolution, not to undercut it. Outsiders, including Obama, conflated the seething national discontent with the sham election process and simply misunderstood what was actually happening. Such dramatic misperception of political reality inside Iran, does not, needless to say, bode well for overall U.S. policy toward Iran’s nuclear and terrorist threats.

In fact, with careful outside support, the post-election outrage in Iran, with time, could grow sufficiently to reverse the Islamic Revolution of 1979 and replace it with a system of representative government. What may be the most positive outcome from what the defeated Mousavi called this “dangerous charade” is that Iranians — and Westerners — will now realize there can be no true democracy as long as the Islamic Revolution remains in power.

More at Ace of Spades:

In case you were unaware, John Bolten is a very smart guy ... he has a grip. This is why the libs wanted him out. Anyway, my conclusion is, after reading this, that it doesn't make a hill of beans to the United States which of those guys won. On the other hand, the problem with the election may cause the Iranians to reexamine their society and government in general.

Not bad for lefty humor

Whole lotta "seizin' goin' on

[LA Times] Reporting from Washington -- The Obama administration this week will propose the most significant new regulation of the financial industry since the Great Depression, including a new watchdog agency to look out for consumers' interests.

Under the plan, expected to be released Wednesday, the government would have new powers to seize key companies -- such as insurance giant American International Group Inc. -- whose failure jeopardizes the financial system. Currently, the government's authority to seize companies is mostly limited to banks. More here:

Hmmmm ... "the government would have new powers to seize key companies." Sure, sounds harmless to me. It's probably for our own good.

On the night of June 24, the media and government become one, when ABC turns its programming over to President Obama and White House officials to push government run health care -- a move that has ignited an ethical firestorm!

Highlights on the agenda:

ABCNEWS anchor Charlie Gibson will deliver WORLD NEWS from the Blue Room of the White House.

The network plans a primetime special -- 'Prescription for America' -- originating from the East Room, exclude opposing voices on the debate.

Late Monday night, Republican National Committee Chief of Staff Ken McKay fired off a complaint to the head of ABCNEWS:

Dear Mr. Westin:

As the national debate on health care reform intensifies, I am deeply concerned and disappointed with ABC's astonishing decision to exclude opposing voices on this critical issue on June 24, 2009. Next Wednesday, ABC News will air a primetime health care reform “town hall” at the White House with President Barack Obama. In addition, according to an ABC News report, GOOD MORNING AMERICA, WORLD NEWS, NIGHTLINE and ABC’s web news “will all feature special programming on the president’s health care agenda.” This does not include the promotion, over the next 9 days, the president’s health care agenda will receive on ABC News programming.

Today, the Republican National Committee requested an opportunity to add our Party's views to those of the President's to ensure that all sides of the health care reform debate are presented. Our request was rejected. I believe that the President should have the ability to speak directly to the America people. However, I find it outrageous that ABC would prohibit our Party's opposing thoughts and ideas from this national debate, which affects millions of ABC viewers.

In the absence of opposition, I am concerned this event will become a glorified infomercial to promote the Democrat agenda. If that is the case, this primetime infomercial should be paid for out of the DNC coffers. President Obama does not hold a monopoly on health care reform ideas or on free airtime. The President has stated time and time again that he wants a bipartisan debate. Therefore, the Republican Party should be included in this primetime event, or the DNC should pay for your airtime.

Ken McKay
Republican National Committee
Chief of Staff

From Drudge:

Gee, this makes it seem like the media are slightly slanted. Biased, even. Say it ain't so.

I guess that "presenting opposing views" (fairness doctrine) is only good for talk radio, not the major news networks. I'm sure the "sheeple" will have all the information they need once they've been spoonfed the Obama/Liberal pablum from the fair and objective media. Baaaa - Bleat.

Never enough taxes for the libs

The use of company-issued mobile phones could trigger new federal income taxes on millions of Americans as a "fringe benefit."

The Internal Revenue Service proposed employers assign 25% of an employee's annual phone expenses as a taxable benefit. Under that scenario, a worker in the 28% tax bracket, whose wireless device costs the company $1,500 a year, could see $105 in additional federal income tax. More here:

Yes - and, as always, it's FREE for companies to do all the ridiculous calculations as demanded by the IRS. That means their higher costs won't be passed along to us in the form of higher prices.

And YOU, scumball. How DARE you try to get away with not paying your taxes on personal use of the cell phone. Cough it up, shithook. We ought to put you in jail. We're the government and we're spending like drunken liberals. There is NO LIMIT to our hunger for your money. We're NEVER going to be happy.

Another MASSIVE govn't program

June 12 (Bloomberg) -- Health-care overhaul legislation being drafted by House Democrats will include $600 billion in tax increases and $400 billion in cuts to Medicare and Medicaid, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles Rangel said.

Democrats will work on the bill’s details next week as they struggle through “what kind of heartburn” it will cause to agree on how to pay for revamping the health-care system, Rangel, a New York Democrat, said today. He also said the measure’s cost will reach beyond the $634 billion President Barack Obama proposed in his budget request to Congress as a down payment for the policy changes.

Asked whether the cost of a health-care overhaul would be more than $1 trillion, Rangel said, “the answer is yes.” More here:

Uh, but don't worry, just because they've fucked up Social Security, Medicare, Welfare, and every other "program" they get their hands on is no sign they'll screw this up too. Just relax. If we don't like it we can always undo it ... just like all the other massive government programs that have been "undone."

I sure hope they only tax the evil rich (and corporations) for this program. I certainly don't want them to tax the poor ... cuz I'm always looking to poor people to employ me and I want them to be able to afford to pay me.

I think they could reduce health care costs by making the loser pay in lawsuits. I'd have to guess that 90% of the increased costs in health care are primarily because doctors/hospitals/insurance companies etc have to CONSTANTLY defend themselves against bullshit lawsuits. I mean think about it ... every two minutes on TV is a commercial by a lawyer telling you to contact them if you've been a "victim."

Anyway ... just remember, the lawyers are stealing YOUR money by suing the docs/hospitals/insurance companies and then they have to pass those costs along to you in the form of higher prices. Get it? They lawyers are making a slave out of you to enrich themselves. The lawyers always get 40-50% (or more) of these "settlements."

This is EXACTLY what happens with they "tax the rich." Stop buying the Democrat's bullshit. If you vote for these kinds of ideas, you're an idiot.

What? The Stimulus didn't work?

Biden tells "Meet the Press" that "everyone guessed wrong" on the impact of the stimulus, economy was worse off than anyone thought.

"No one realized how bad the economy was. The projections, in fact, turned out to be worse. But we took the mainstream model as to what we thought -- and everyone else thought -- the unemployment rate would be."

"Everyone guessed wrong at the time the estimate was made about what the state of the economy was at the moment this was passed." More here:

Really, genius? Cuz I recall guessing you jackasses were going to spend a trillion dollars with no impact at all except putting us further into debt. I recall that EVERY SINGLE REPUBLICAN in the House voted against this bill.

A nearly $820 billion stimulus package passed the House of Representatives Wednesday without a single Republican vote. More here:
So ... NO ... "Everyone" didn't guess wrong. As usual it was the Dipshitocrats who "guessed wrong." I have an idea ... STOP GUESSING WITH A TRILLION CRISP YOU JACKASSES. Take your John Maynard Keynes and cram him up your ass instead of cramming him up OUR asses all the time, idiots.

Hey ... BIDEN ... I have a "guess" for you. We're about to see inflation and unemployment go through the roof. Since you idiot Dipshitocrats keep blocking drilling, refining, and exploration, we're about to see gas/energy prices go through the roof.

Oh, woe is us ... who could have seen this coming?

Note: I recall taking myriad economics classes in school. The "professors" all talked like Keynes was their hero. Since I knew no better and there was NO conflicting information presented, I bought it. College = education, my ass.

Smokers = Shitstains

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Senate struck a historic blow against smoking in America Thursday, voting overwhelmingly to give regulators new power to limit nicotine in the cigarettes that kill nearly a half-million people a year, to drastically curtail ads that glorify tobacco and to ban flavored products aimed at spreading the habit to young people.

The legislation, one of the most dramatic anti-smoking initiatives since the surgeon general's report, would give the Food and Drug Administration authority to regulate the content, marketing and advertising of cigarettes and other tobacco products. More here:

Oh good. I guess "Freedom" doesn't really mean "Freedom." Instead it means "you're free to do as we say." It's unreal to see dipshit politicians steal freedom and money from people without repercussion. It's unreal to see them ruining industry after industry (tobacco, oil, pharmaceuticals, coal, auto-makers, on & on) all the while driving prices through the roof and bringing untold torment on the "free people."

You know, when I was in school, I was told that the government's main duty was to PROTECT MY FREEDOM! Funny, huh?

It's great to be in the "land of the free"

An advocacy group for online poker said Tuesday that the federal government has frozen more than $30 million in the accounts of payment processors that handle the winnings of thousands of online poker players.

The Justice Department long has maintained that Internet gambling is illegal, a view that the poker group challenges.

The Poker Players Alliance told The Associated Press that the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York instructed three banks — Citibank, Goldwater Bank and Alliance Bank of Arizona — to freeze the accounts.

Documents obtained by the AP show that a magistrate judge in the district issued a seizure warrant last week for an account at a Wells Fargo bank in San Francisco, and that a federal prosecutor told Alliance Bank to freeze accounts. More here:

You know what? I just LOVE IT when braying jackasses steal the freedom of others. Whenever I see this (and I see it a lot) "I have a strong impulse to see it tried on them personally."

The First Democrat elected after the Civil War, Grover Cleveland was the only President to leave the White House and return for a second term four years later.

One of nine children of a Presbyterian minister, Cleveland was born in New Jersey in 1837. He was raised in upstate New York. As a lawyer in Buffalo, he became notable for his single-minded concentration upon whatever task faced him.

At 44, he emerged into a political prominence that carried him to the White House in three years. Running as a reformer, he was elected Mayor of Buffalo in 1881, and later, Governor of New York.

Cleveland won the Presidency with the combined support of Democrats and reform Republicans, the "Mugwumps," who disliked the record of his opponent James G. Blaine of Maine.

A bachelor, Cleveland was ill at ease at first with all the comforts of the White House. "I must go to dinner," he wrote a friend, "but I wish it was to eat a pickled herring a Swiss cheese and a chop at Louis' instead of the French stuff I shall find." In June 1886 Cleveland married 21-year-old Frances Folsom; he was the only President married in the White House.

Cleveland vigorously pursued a policy barring special favors to any economic group. Vetoing a bill to appropriate $10,000 to distribute seed grain among drought-stricken farmers in Texas, he wrote: "Federal aid in such cases encourages the expectation of paternal care on the part of the Government and weakens the sturdiness of our national character. . . . "

He also vetoed many private pension bills to Civil War veterans whose claims were fraudulent. When Congress, pressured by the Grand Army of the Republic, passed a bill granting pensions for disabilities not caused by military service, Cleveland vetoed it, too.

He angered the railroads by ordering an investigation of western lands they held by Government grant. He forced them to return 81,000,000 acres. He also signed the Interstate Commerce Act, the first law attempting Federal regulation of the railroads.

In December 1887 he called on Congress to reduce high protective tariffs. Told that he had given Republicans an effective issue for the campaign of 1888, he retorted, "What is the use of being elected or re-elected unless you stand for something?" But Cleveland was defeated in 1888; although he won a larger popular majority than the Republican candidate Benjamin Harrison, he received fewer electoral votes.

Elected again in 1892, Cleveland faced an acute depression. He dealt directly with the Treasury crisis rather than with business failures, farm mortgage foreclosures, and unemployment. He obtained repeal of the mildly inflationary Sherman Silver Purchase Act and, with the aid of Wall Street, maintained the Treasury's gold reserve.

When railroad strikers in Chicago violated an injunction, Cleveland sent Federal troops to enforce it. "If it takes the entire army and navy of the United States to deliver a post card in Chicago," he thundered, "that card will be delivered."

Cleveland's blunt treatment of the railroad strikers stirred the pride of many Americans. So did the vigorous way in which he forced Great Britain to accept arbitration of a disputed boundary in Venezuela. But his policies during the depression were generally unpopular. His party deserted him and nominated William Jennings Bryan in 1896.

After leaving the White House, Cleveland lived in retirement in Princeton, New Jersey. He died in 1908. From here:

Holy shitski -- a ROBOT SNAKE !!!

A robot snake, capable of recording video and sound on the battlefield, is on the way to join the the IDF's hi-tech arsenal.

According to a Channel 2 report, click herethe spying robot, which is about two meters long and covered in military camouflage, mimics the movements and appearance of real snakes, slithering around through caves, tunnels, cracks and buildings, while at the same time sending images and sound back to a soldier who controls the device through a laptop computer.

Able to bend its joints so well that it can squeeze through very tight spaces, the new device will be used to find people buried under collapsed buildings. The snake is also able to arch its body, allowing it to see over obstacles through its head camera. More here:

Ok -- NOW -- electrify its body and make it shoot fire and lasers out of its head . Do I have to think of EVERYTHING? I mean ... C'MON, it's a ROBOT SNAKE ... it should be FEARSOME!!!

Hee Haw - Hee Haw

-- Newsweek editor, Evan Thomas responded to a question on whether the media's unfair to Bush on the TV talk show Inside Washington, February 2, 2007

"Well, our job is to bash the president, that's what we do."

BUT WAIT -- Here's -- Evan Thomas on Hardball, June 5, 2009.

"I mean in a way Obama’s standing above the country, above – above the world, he’s sort of God."

Hey, Evan Thomas - better tone down your "bashing" of Obama don't you think? Or perhaps you're not afraid -- it's "what you do" -- right? Jackass.

Don't worry libs, the legions of morons you've educated over the last 50 years won't suspect a thing. It's the conservatives you have to worry about. The ones that actually read and comprehend. No wonder you're going broke. Adios, comrade. "We're all socialists now" - right?

Here he is, bashing he hell out of Obama. "It's what he does."

... And the camels they rode in on

Settlers dedicate a Torah scroll in the West Bank outpost of Maoz Esther, which has been dismantled and rebuilt several times in recent weeks. Photo: AP

In defiance of US President Barack Obama's call on Israel to stop settlement activity, defiant settlers built a new outpost on Friday morning between Migron and Kochav Ya'acov.

One of the activists said of Obama, "He's an Arab Muslim and a gentile, he is fighting against the Jewish people and has declared that he will continue to do so. We already stated our intention to continue to build, no matter who is fighting us - Egypt, Germany or the US."

Among the 200 activists that gathered at the Maoz Esther site was Hebron-Kiryat Arba Chief Rabbi Dov Lior, who explained why peace was impossible in the Middle East.

"It's all illusions. With these savages, there was never peace, there is no peace and there will not be peace," he said.

"It's not because we don't want it, but because they are enemies of peace. We just have to hope that our entire country is cleared of terrorists, their supporters, their backers and their camels. They should all be sent to Saudi Arabia."From here:

"... and their camels." LMAO

Obama is the "great teacher" of us all

Meat munchers - UPDATE at the bottom

EXCERPTS: A row between the fast food giant Burger King and one of its major franchise owners has erupted over roadside signs proclaiming "global warming is baloney".

The franchisee, a Memphis-based company called the Mirabile Investment Corporation (MIC) that owns more than 40 Burger Kings across Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi, has described Burger King as acting "kinda like cockroaches" over the controversy. MIC says it does not believe Burger King has the authority to make it take the signs down.

The dispute began to sizzle last week, when a local newspaper reporter in Memphis, Tennessee, noticed the signs outside two restaurants in the city and contacted the corporation to establish if the message represented its official viewpoint. Burger King's headquarters in Miami said it did not, adding that it had ordered MIC to take the signs down.

He continued: "Burger King can bluster all they want about what they can tell the franchisee to do, but we have free-speech rights in this country so I don't think there's any concerns." More here: and here:

Ha ha - GO, MIC!! I'll bet his business is WAY up. He's right about one thing for sure ... Burger King bigwigs are scrambling from controversy like the cockroaches they are.

Just so you know:

One imagines that someone at Burger King realised that the "global warming is baloney" line didn't exactly chime with the views of John Chidsey, the company's CEO, who believes that climate change is "an overriding issue of importance for the global community, business community and people in general", as he stated in this short interview conducted at this year's World Economic Forum. (How he squares this concern with his company's drive-thru, meat-munching business model is another matter, though.) From here:

Ha ha - I love how the "reporter" doesn't give a shit whether Burger King is on his side about climate change or not -- Burger King (meat munchers) is still the enemy. This is what you get when you try to appease jackass libs.

Hey - John Chidsey - here's an "overriding issue of importance" for you ... I've eaten my last Burger (or anything else) from Burger King ... unless, of course, I see one of the "baloney" signs outside -- THEN, I'm having a burger.

UPDATE - More thoughts:

And another thing, John Chidsey ... they're coming for you. Wait until they get through taxing the meat from cows because "cows cause global warming." What do you think THAT will do to your prices? What do you think THAT will do to your sales ... genius.

Wait until the lib media starts blasting your "meat-munching" operations like they did to "big tobacco" and "big oil." What derogatory name will they assign to your business ... "big meat?" ... "big cardiac-ac-ac-ac?" What will it be?

They're out to destroy your industry you clueless moron. You and morons like you went along with the joke for too long ... it's too late ... you're all but finished, but nice voting, asshat. Hey, maybe you can sell more salads ... people just LOVE those.

When they start with the taxing, what do you think your investors are going to do? Do you think they'll be selling any stock they have that is affected by meat sales? My guess is they're going to divest themselves until we get the socialists out of office. It'll be longer than that though. It'll be a generation before we can rid ourselves of the activist libs on the Supreme Court. Maybe THEN we can begin to reverse some of the idiocy that's been done over the past 40 years. I'm guessing you'll be long dead before your industry can make a comeback.

See ya later, John Chidsey ... jackass ... you're what is known as a "useful idiot."
I'll be over here ... watching with glee ... as the libs break your ass.

Liberty and Tyranny

Mark Levin has written a new book ... "Liberty and Tyranny." It's also available on Kindle and Audio CD and Audio download. I shall download and listen to it this summer sometime.

Here is a quote on the subject from Abraham Lincoln:

"We all declare for liberty; but in using the same word we do not all mean the same thing. With some the word liberty may mean for each man to do as he pleases with himself, and the product of his labor; while with others, the same word may mean for some men to do as they please with other men, and the product of other men's labor.

Here are two, not only different, but incompatible things, called by the same name - liberty. And it follows that each of the things is, by the respective parties, called by two different and incompatible names - liberty and tyranny."

By the way, this book is a HUGE bestseller and yet is ignored by the mainstream media. Funny huh? What a shocker. Here are some excerpts from this article/interview.

While the state-controlled media continues to shun him, syndicated radio talk host Mark Levin's Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto is on track to sell a stunning one million copies, if it hasn't already done so. More than that number have now been printed by Simon and Schuster, its publisher.

And late today, it was revealed that the book will appear as number one on the New York Times Bestseller List for the ninth time in the past ten weeks. At Amazon, it remained in first place in books for over a month and has since generally found a home in the top ten or close to it (it ranks 12 at the moment).

But while conservative outlets have reviewed and discussed the book widely, the state-controlled mainstream media has almost completely ignored Liberty and Tyranny. Despite topping their sales list, you won't even find a review of the book in the New York Times. Don't bother checking other daily newspapers, either, as they've also found it unworthy of discussion.

Gee, that must be because, as jourrrrrnalists, they're so fair and objective.

Abraham Lincoln - Property & Freedom

Here are some more quotes from Abraham Lincoln:

"Those who deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves; and, under a just God, can not long retain it."

"A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure permanently half-slave and half-free. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved - I do not expect the house to fall - but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing or all the other."

"Whenever I hear any one arguing for slavery I feel a strong impulse to see it tried on him personally."

"Property is the fruit of labor ... property is desirable ... is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another; but let him labor diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built." 21. CHESTER ARTHUR 1881-1885

Dignified, tall, and handsome, with clean-shaven chin and side-whiskers, Chester A. Arthur "looked like a President."

The son of a Baptist preacher who had emigrated from northern Ireland, Arthur was born in Fairfield, Vermont, in 1829. He was graduated from Union College in 1848, taught school, was admitted to the bar, and practiced law in New York City. Early in the Civil War he served as Quartermaster General of the State of New York.

President Grant in 1871 appointed him Collector of the Port of New York. Arthur effectively marshalled the thousand Customs House employees under his supervision on behalf of Roscoe Conkling's Stalwart Republican machine.

Honorable in his personal life and his public career, Arthur nevertheless was a firm believer in the spoils system when it was coming under vehement attack from reformers. He insisted upon honest administration of the Customs House, but staffed it with more employees than it needed, retaining them for their merit as party workers rather than as Government officials.

In 1878 President Hayes, attempting to reform the Customs House, ousted Arthur. Conkling and his followers tried to win redress by fighting for the renomination of Grant at the 1880 Republican Convention. Failing, they reluctantly accepted the nomination of Arthur for the Vice Presidency.

During his brief tenure as Vice President, Arthur stood firmly beside Conkling in his patronage struggle against President Garfield. But when Arthur succeeded to the Presidency, he was eager to prove himself above machine politics.

Avoiding old political friends, he became a man of fashion in his garb and associates, and often was seen with the elite of Washington, New York, and Newport. To the indignation of the Stalwart Republicans, the onetime Collector of the Port of New York became, as President, a champion of civil service reform. Public pressure, heightened by the assassination of Garfield, forced an unwieldy Congress to heed the President.

In 1883 Congress passed the Pendleton Act, which established a bipartisan Civil Service Commission, forbade levying political assessments against officeholders, and provided for a "classified system" that made certain Government positions obtainable only through competitive written examinations. The system protected employees against removal for political reasons.

Acting independently of party dogma, Arthur also tried to lower tariff rates so the Government would not be embarrassed by annual surpluses of revenue. Congress raised about as many rates as it trimmed, but Arthur signed the Tariff Act of 1883. Aggrieved Westerners and Southerners looked to the Democratic Party for redress, and the tariff began to emerge as a major political issue between the two parties.

The Arthur Administration enacted the first general Federal immigration law. Arthur approved a measure in 1882 excluding paupers, criminals, and lunatics. Congress suspended Chinese immigration for ten years, later making the restriction permanent.

Arthur demonstrated as President that he was above factions within the Republican Party, if indeed not above the party itself. Perhaps in part his reason was the well-kept secret he had known since a year after he succeeded to the Presidency, that he was suffering from a fatal kidney disease. He kept himself in the running for the Presidential nomination in 1884 in order not to appear that he feared defeat, but was not renominated, and died in 1886. Publisher Alexander K. McClure recalled, "No man ever entered the Presidency so profoundly and widely distrusted, and no one ever retired ... more generally respected." From here:

Chavez calls Obama "Comrade"

CARACAS (Reuters) - Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez said on Tuesday that he and Cuban ally Fidel Castro risk being more conservative than U.S. President Barack Obama as Washington prepares to take control of General Motors Corp.

During one of Chavez's customary lectures on the "curse" of capitalism and the bonanzas of socialism, the Venezuelan leader made reference to GM's bankruptcy filing, which is expected to give the U.S. government a 60 percent stake in the 100-year-old former symbol of American might.

"Hey, Obama has just nationalized nothing more and nothing less than General Motors. Comrade Obama! Fidel, careful or we are going to end up to his right," Chavez joked on a live television broadcast.

During a decade in government, Chavez has nationalized most of Venezuela's key economic sectors, including multibillion dollar oil projects, often via joint ventures with the private sector that give the state a 60 percent controlling stake. More here:
