They had to be libs

The smartest genius I know.

Neil deGrasse Tyson is a perfect example of a super-genius. I say this not because he's smart- there are a lot of smart people out there. I say this because he can express complex ideas simply. I have met him and I was awestruck at the simplicity with which he explained ideas that had confused me for decades.

His best point is made at 32:53 when he says that blindly discounting something you don't understand is as lazy as blindly accepting it.

The interview starts at 6:30. I'd recommend watching the whole thing but do as you please.

The actual 99% don't rely on "mic checks" we rely on votes.

Who is Michael Clifton? Well, he's no John Galt. Read a little something about him here. Evidently, he whined to youtube about a copyright violation since the video in question made him look like an idiot. Perhaps there's hope for him yet.

Looks like newsbusters has another copy of this video which is beyond the censorship of Mr. Clifton.

If only we were better learners.

And by "we", I mean you.

From the Financial Times (full article here).

Germany is the only country in Europe that can act to save the eurozone and the wider European Union from “a crisis of apocalyptic proportions”, the Polish foreign minister warned on Monday in a passionate call for more drastic action to prevent the collapse of the European monetary union.
Have you ever seen the movie "Breaking Away"?

Go ahead and watch it. I'll wait right here.

Well in the final chapter, there's a bike race and it's monumental because for the first time in history, "the cutters" (aka the townies) are going to be allowed to race against the wealthy, rich, elitist college kids (aka the wealthy, rich, elitist college kids). It's an opportunity for which they've begged and pleaded much in the same way that the countries in Europe pined for an EU (as long as Germany joined).

The Cutters though, they just show up cold. When you're offered the opportunity of a lifetime; a chance to right all the wrongs put upon you and your kind for generations; to finally show your intellectual betters that you're every bit as good as they are; to strike a blow for the middle-class everywhere,  you show up completely unprepared. Except. Except for the fact that you have an ace up your sleeve.

Because "it's the American way" to show up wholly unprepared and to fly by the seat of your pants and by sheer force of will and lots of concentration to win anyway. This works 100% of the time... in Libland (aka Hollywood, CA) so of course it works in real life. That's what they'd have us believe anyway.

Well, Dave is their secret weapon. He has been training like a BOSS for the past year in his futile attempt to beat the Italians who have come to Bloomfield, IL to race in what appears to be a road race with no less than 90 bicyclists. Although he's physically ready to easily keep their pace, he is tossed to the side of the road like an unwanted cigarette butt when he threatens them with his ability. Really, they just shove a bike pump into his front wheel and he goes pitch-poling off the road. This breaks his spirit but he's no quitter- not after his friends beg him to bail them out of this hot water they've gotten into much in the same way that the countries in Europe pined for an EU (as long as Germany joined).. This is all starting to sound like the EU, isn't it?

Once the race begins, the rules are simple. There are 4 men to a team and each team member must race at least one lap. The race begins and each of the other 3 team members ride for a lap or two and then hand the bike off to Dave to finish the race. Essentially, they're handing the ball to the 1%er and sitting back in their lawn chairs sunning themselves. Pretty soon, they don't even bother to cheer for him as he passes. Socialism at its best.

Well, as is the wont of Hollywood movie productions. It's not enough that he win the race. There must be a struggle. He's hurt in a crash and can't continue. His teammates wave him on because they're way too tired and out of shape to do any good for the team so he's on his own. Eventually, he stops anyway because he has no choice and the 3 Cutters fight over who's going to go next. Things look bleak at this point... extra bleak (aka current events in the EU).

Ultimately, Dave has to man up and take up the slack the others had accumulated and decides he must get his feet taped onto the peddles and finish the race do or die. And so he does.

While I draw many similarities with this movie and the current economical conditions in the EU, the big difference is that what's happening in the EU is real and "Breaking Away" is just a movie. Germany may resent the fact that it was drawn into the EU in the first place and may be hoping above hope that they could figure some way out of this without a complete global economic collapse, but the fact is, they're the only one on their team capable of carrying this team to the finish line.

The other EU nations can complain all they want about the superiority and elitism of Germany (and perhaps the UK) but the fact remains that when they need help (as they always, mysteriously, do), they'll be calling on Germany to help. It's the ant and the grasshopper all over again. And these Liberals pride themselves on being "well read".

The UK (wisely) left themselves out of hot water by refraining from participating in the EU in the first place so now Germany is stuck. The only hope remaining for a team of ne'er-do-wells who know neither responsibility, sacrifice, nor hard work. Even if they do somehow pull a rabbit out of a hat and survive all this, their future does not look too promising. Even in the movie, they all went back to their loser life-styles while Dave went on to attend college. Something tells me Germany can expect the same fate and as for the others? Good.Luck.

This is hysterical all the way thru

Absolutely classic ... Great job here by Samantha Bee. This means I have to give her a free run at conservatives without whining about how biased she is. Wombat pointed out that nobody she was talking to "got it" because, if they were capable of getting it, they wouldn't be there in the first place. LMAO @ "Is my nose bleeding? "

Wombat also pointed out that when she asked "does the drum circle know we're here?" They all pretended not to hear her ... Wombat surmised they were all waiting for signs of approval/disapproval from the group before acting ... and this behavior (seeking approval and acceptance of the group) is one of the hallmarks of idiot libs.

And  I'll just add my two cents.  Why do libs seek approval of the group?
I think two of the reasons are:
1 - They have a very weird need to be accepted ... to be in (what they perceive as) the "cool crowd."
2 - They aren't confident they know the difference between right and wrong so they're willing  to substitute their own judgement with the judgement of the group ... i.e. to be "right" by consensus.

Ha ha, "someone" sent me this in email

Its a smackdown

Its a little long and he makes his point over and over but in the end he boots her off the porch.

Is it really getting this bad

Colin Powell thinks the Tea Party is the "problem"

So the communist objective jourrrrnalist, Christiane Amanpour interviews Colin Powell a few days ago.
AMANPOUR:  ... but what about the fact that, in fact, it is one of the political parties, although -- or rather the big political influence, which is the Tea Party, which quotes left and right the Founding Fathers? They say compromise is a dirty word, and they try to point to the Founding Fathers and the Constitution.

POWELL: They compromised -- the Founding Fathers compromised on slavery. They had to in order to create a country. They compromised on the composition of the Senate, of the House, of the Supreme Court, of a president -- what are the president's powers? Can you imagine more difficult compromises today?

Compromise is how this country was founded, and unless two people in disagreement with each other don't find a way to reach out to one another and make compromises, you don't get a consensus that allows you to move forward  But the Tea Party point of view is not a point of view that will eventually produce a presidential candidate who will win..

The whole interview (with video) here at Newsbusters:

Right, soooooo, no ... I'm not going to be able to let this go.

First of all, I'm not interesting in compromising my principles, POWELL.  That's the unique characteristic ... the defining quality ... the very NATURE of a "principle." Of course, I don't expect a dumbass lib to know a damn thing about principles (or anything at all to do with logic, fact, and reason.)  This is how I keep my sanity.

Secondly, they didn't compromise on slavery.  They wanted to END SLAVERY.  That's not really a "compromise."  Did they not insert, into the constitution, a "date certain," for banning the importation of slaves?  Why, yes, I think they did.  Was anyone of note  expecting the immediate cessation of slavery?  No, everyone knew it would take time.  If you call that a "compromise" then you and I remember history a little differently.

See, the Tea Party is the same way ... they've "compromised" for decades and they're tired of it.  Sayyyy,  what if the Tea Party says they want taxes cut by  two trillion bux ... would the Democratics offer a trillion?  No?  So they wouldn't be willing to "compromise?"  See this is what he's saying ... if you don't agree with HIM, then you won't "compromise."

Oh, and by the way, since you insist on calling it a compromise, how did it work out?  Perhaps you'll recall a little war in the late 1800's killing over a half million people because some people still wanted to "compromise" and others did not ... the "others" being the northern states.  What about that time, POWELL?  Should they have "compromised" then? ... you braying jackass.

Please help this Christmas (are we allowed to use the word Christmas?)

It's cuz he's black, isn't it?

What isn't wrong with this picture?

Notice the serious, somber, pissed-off demeanor of this poor, oppressed beret-wearing Liberal. Complete with his pin of righteousness and his ribbons of feigned significance hanging prominently. He stands in abject defiance of earning your own keep. He proudly declares that he has done quite enough. He has elected all the right politicians. He has done favors, scratched backs and made payments under the table. He has done everything a good socialist has been asked to do and now it's time to pay him back. NOW.

What's that you say? The government isn't going to take care of him and people like him? They're on their own? But but but this isn't what they ASKED for. They just wanted to kick back and take it easy and get a whole bunch of free stuff. They got the government they always wanted and now they feel jilted. Left by the wayside. Neglected, ignored and forgotten. It's as if it comes as a complete surprise to them that by creating a government which thrives on self-service, selfishness and personal advancement has somehow and mysteriously left them without any rewards to reap.

It's as if it's history repeating itself all over again. They did all they could to bring these people to power. Even though they have a long-standing history of breaking promises they have somehow and mysteriously broke yet another promise. It turns out that even though it happens time and time again in every socialist society, it's also happening here- the people who get the power only want more power and the people they used to get there feel somehow... used.

It's a complete mystery to them that doing favors, under the table dealing, and "one hand washes the other" politics leads ONLY to corruption and squandering of money. Weirdly and mysteriously, all that money ends up in the hands of the powerful. So there these people stand. Left out. Dejected. No better off than they were before they sold out.

And now they're angry. They ignored the facts, they ignored reality and now they pay the price of their own greed and stupidity. Of course, it goes without saying that after having lived a life in denial, they're unable to accept personal responsibility for their dismal situation and commence with finding someone to blame for their misfortune.

Hey, I didn't know that

So Mexico has a state named "Tabasco."  We should be friends with them because we have a hot sauce named "Tabasco."  What a strange coinkydink.

I looked at that map and wondered "How many states does Mexico have?"

Answer?  31 states and a separate "Federal District."

I also wondered what the names of the other states were and if we have any other stuff named after Mexican states ... turns out, we do.  Here's the link to more info should you find yourself giving a damn.

Feel smarter now?  Don't thank me, it's what I do.

News Flash - The Muslim Brotherhood wants to kill jews

Arab hate: A Muslim Brotherhood rally in Cairo's most prominent mosque Friday turned into a venomous anti-Israel protest, with attendants vowing to "one day kill all Jews."

Some 5,000 people joined the rally, called to promote the "battle against Jerusalem's Judaization."

Speakers at the event delivered impassioned, hateful speeches against Israel, slamming the "Zionist occupiers" and the "treacherous Jews." More here:

Oh no, I wish they wouldn't call for the killing of ALL JEWS, don't you?  Yes, because then the mainstream media is going to expose the "religion of peace" by blasting it all over our news for days ... oh wait, no they won't.  Never mind.

I think we should vote on this but then you would have to use math?

The guy who became tired of pussy

Yes, seriously -- he said "enough with the pussy ... I MUST think of something to ward it off .... what can I do ... WHAT CAN I DO?"

... and then it came to him in a flash.

fri pins

UPDATE on the new climategate email release

A little pic illustrating how the mainstream media helps uncover fraud like this

A new batch of 5,000 emails among scientists central to the assertion that humans are causing a global warming crisis were anonymously released to the public yesterday, igniting a new firestorm of controversy nearly two years to the day after similar emails ignited the Climategate scandal.

Three themes are emerging from the newly released emails:
(1) prominent scientists central to the global warming debate are taking measures to conceal rather than disseminate underlying data and discussions;
(2) these scientists view global warming as a political “cause” rather than a balanced scientific inquiry and
(3) many of these scientists frankly admit to each other that much of the science is weak and dependent on deliberate manipulation of facts and data.

More of the article with examples here:

Tsk, tsk, tsk ... who would have ever guessed?  I sure hope the US congress doesn't start having hearings on this, don't you?  Oh, no, no ... we wouldn't want these people punished at all, would we?  After all, the only thing they did was try to steal your liberty under the guise of their "science" ... but it was for your own good, doncha know.  I mean, so what if they lied ... their heart was in the right place.

When you think about it, most of the tyrants throughout history were only acting in the people's interests, right?  I mean, when people are free, there's no telling what the idiots might do.  Ramming around ... making mistakes left and right ... let's face it, they need help and guidance from a benevolent hand ... yes, benevolent and powerful.

I wouldn't stop with them though, I'd want to punish those in congress who gave the go ahead to squander our money on this total crock of crap.

Oh oh -- they're REALLY getting the rich people now

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Duke Energy has agreed to a 7.2 percent rate increase for its customers in North Carolina, cutting its initial proposal in half.

The Charlotte Observer reports that the utility agreed in principle on Tuesday to the limited increase with the N.C. Utilities Commission's Public Staff, which represents customers. The agreement gives each of Duke's major customer classes - residential, industrial and commercial - the same 7.2 percent increase. More here:

Ha ha, don't worry ... this rate increase doesn't apply to you, right?  Those poor Duke Energy customers/saps.  Once they get their increase the other companies will probably not even take notice.  They won't apply for their own rate increase, will they?

Keep voting for Democratics people who are blocking coal, natural gas, etc etc. -- it's working out just fine.  They're peeling you for all you're worth.

Gaaaaa, poor victim was victimized - barely dodges getting his brains victimized out

Bold is mine:
HOUSTON (KHOU) - A Katy, Texas mom who sent nude photographs of herself to her friend's 16-year-old son pleaded guilty Friday to online solicitation of a minor.

Lori David, 38, was sentenced to five years' probation.

Investigators said David and the victim's mother were jogging buddies, and the victim was a classmate of David's son at Katy Taylor High School.

The victim told investigators that David befriended him while she was volunteering at the school, and asked to be his friend on Facebook.

The victim said he and David then began communicating via Facebook, e-mail and text message on a regular basis, and their conversations were often sexual.

According to court documents, David sent the teen two lewd photos of herself on October 14, 2010.
Investigators said David was completely nude in both photos. She was arrested at her home on November 4, 2010, and was later released on bond.

David was visibly shaken in court Friday. At times, she trembled and cried while she stood before the judge.
The judge told David that she will have to register as a sex offender for 15 years, and she's not allowed to have contact with children unless they are related to her. More here:

Yes, yes -- "sex offender,"  that sounds right, fair, and accurate to me.  Missing in the story is how "authorities" came to find out about this witch sex offender.  I guess we'll never know ... yep ... a mystery.

Lest we forget what the story is "all about", please join with me now in a prayer for the speedy recovery of the poor, poor, victim.

Oh oh, here we go again

A fresh tranche of private emails exchanged between leading climate scientists throughout the last decade was released online on Tuesday. The unauthorised publication is an apparent attempt to repeat the impact of a similar release of emails on the eve of the Copenhagen climate summit in late 2009.

Yes, remember that?  From reading this article it looks like the hackers held back a ton of other emails and are now releasing them ahead of another "climate summit."

These climate peeps are funny, aren't they?  Preach and preach about doom and gloom and they're all full of shit.  Then, when their predictions don't come true (melting polar caps etc) they pipe down and hope you get amnesia.  When they get busted for "hiding the decline" they pipe down for a while and wait for amnesia to hit the idiot libs.  Hey, hey ... sky is falling!!

Who loves the OWS "movement?" (More like a bowel "movement")

President Obama hugs an increasingly unpopular, vulgar, and lawless movement. The Hill reports that after President Obama was heckled by protesters at an event in New Hampshire, he said:
“I appreciate you guys making your point; let me go ahead and make mine,” Obama said before continuing his speech. “I'll listen to you, you listen to me, OK?”

A few minutes later, Obama acknowledged the Occupy protest movement again, saying: “You are the reason I ran for office.”
Oh really?  How 'bout the Tea Party?  Were THEY the reason you ran for office?  I think you ran for office to give billions of bucks to your idiot lib buddies and donors like Solyndra.

Yes ... more with video here.

Make sure you watch the video from time to time

Its good to know your pilot

Wombat found this but, for some reason, didna blog it ... so I helped.

Monday, November 21, 2011

Interest in OWS is flat. Dissatisfaction with violence of OWS grows.

As you might have guessed if you think for yourself, OWS is mostly a bunch of hippies (sorry, Bill Maher) doing what they do... wasting a lot of their time, annoying a lot of non-hippies, and not effecting hope OR change (sorry, Mr. President).

The poll finds that 56% of Americans surveyed are neither supporters nor opponents and 59% say they don't know enough to have an opinion about the movement's goals.

The survey, however, does show an increase from 20% to 31% in disapproval of the way the protests are being conducted.
 Full article HERE.

The psychology of protesters.

Sultan Knish has stated this well...

The Occupiers don't know how lucky they are, because despite all their degrees they have forgotten how revolutions, real revolutions, end. They end when the people holding up the ridiculous signs, the petty criminals and the mentally unstable, whom no one took seriously, become the secret police for one of those charming outsiders who wandered in and now owns the place. The fellow with the dark eyes who excels at taking control of meetings and driving out people who don't agree with him. Who despite his poor literacy speaks so magnetically that it seems impossible to believe that's he's a lunatic who dreams nightly or killing everyone who ever offended him.

Read the whole post HERE. No really, read the whole post.

It's amazing to me that Liberals listen to other Liberals at all.

Yay! A game for pins lovers everywhere

LOL - so I screwed up this game but I enjoyed playing it anyway.  I was 3/4 of the way thru it before I discovered that you're voting for the girl who gets the most votes -- not just stating your preference.  Anyway, at the end my score was 12 out of 20.

So I played again (and they give you some new pics.)  But THIS TIME I scored a 12 ... yeah ... uh huh ... soooooo. (That's right - 12 both times.)

You just click on the name of the one you like -- Click here to play - good luck.

Idiot liberals finally achieved the pinnacle and "banned" perfect logic

EU bans claim that water can prevent dehydration

Brussels bureaucrats were ridiculed yesterday after banning drink manufacturers from claiming that water can prevent dehydration.  More here:

Yes, and you know what else? The sun has nothing to do with it when the earth heats up and cools down ... nothing at all.

Anyway, all you libs ... the next time you get thirsty don't drink water. It won't help.

Hey, keep banning things with a-ban-don ... Idiots.

By the way, I probably shouldn't have said "achieved the pinnacle" in the headline because just as soon as I think that liberals can't get any dumber, they prove me wrong.

Another so-called "Pillar of Society".

Remember this guy? This true hero was peacefully protesting only to suffer police brutality at the hands of stormtroopers wielding truncheons and chemical weapons and ended up a bloody pulp.

This picture has gone viral and has been retweeted countless times. Of course, they only report the part that serves their ideology. The rest of the story goes largely unreported:

Actually, young thug Brandon Watts stood on a wall at Zuccotti Park and threw AAA batteries at police. (very dangerous and painful) Then he charged the police officers and stole one of their hats. The New York Police caught him as he ran back into the park, but Brandon began to fight back, police said. He was wrestled to the ground and continued to fight back for several minutes. That’s when he busted his head on the concrete, causing a gash to gush blood down his face.
As always though, do your own research, think for yourself, and if something sounds too good to be true, look a little deeper. Libs will hate it if you do that.

The ego's on these people.

I get it. Times are tough. Brutal even. UNBEARABLE. Bill Whittle said this all very well HERE.

These misdirected spoiled-brats are desperate for meaning... a cause... a revolution for our generation. They will stop at nothing in their futile attempts to convince us (and mostly themselves) that they are fighting the good fight. That they are morally righteous. That they are the shining light of the brave new world. That they are Pillars of Virtue!

I suppose this all works on them and people like them. Much in the same way that young girls actually believe that they are royal princesses, these people believe they're incarnations of Che Guevara [you remember Che- he's the guy who was purported to say "Shoot, coward, you are only going to kill a man." but actually said, "Do not shoot! I am Che Guevara and worth more to you alive than dead."Anderson, Jon Lee (1997). Che Guevara: A Revolutionary Life. New York: Grove Press. ISBN 0-8021-1600-0.) aka "same thing" to a Liberal.] and other legendary freedom-fighters of yore.

Let's face it- revolutions are a lot less interesting when you know the truth. Especially revolutions by Liberals. It's easy to tell stories of greatness when you're witnessing the actions of great people. However, when the people acting are incapable of the selflessness, courage and strength of character which are requisites of real heroes, they're forced to make things up (all in the name of advancing their ideologies, of course).  As we all know though, the truth will always come out and they'll be exposed for the fools that they are. Just not to other Liberals or the MSM. They've already moved on to greener pastures... fresher stories.... the new black, etc.

You might think that their motivation is moving on (no pun intended) and letting go but it seems to me that it's more about sweeping their mistakes under the carpet and hoping that nobody notices. They'll admonish you for "living in the past" while ignoring the fact that if you can't acknowledge your mistakes, you're doomed to repeat them.

It's this lack of foundation and this lack of permanence that bothers me most about Liberals and people like them- they will never build anything of worth, they will never accomplish anything of merit. They only "keep busy" and spin their wheels on endeavors which amount to nothing but make great bragging-material with which to impress their friends at cocktail parties. I can't think of anything less "noble" than that. Except perhaps, renting a fancy car to impress old classmates at your 25th high school reunion.

Nevertheless, Occupiers continue with the self-aggrandizement with garbage like this:
"Iconic image of martyrdom"? Ridiculous.

Here's a commentary on the topic from Facebook:

"Well in the same vein that you can't cheat an honest man, a peaceful protestor doesn't experience police brutality. It's always the ones who don't see the line who cross it. I'm not suggesting that anyone sit idly by and do nothing. I'm just suggesting that the ones who go out and get their heads bashed in are praying for that result so they can prove their dedication."

Well said. Personally, I suspect she didn't know what she was in for. I suspect that in spite of numerous warnings, she and the people with her figured "hey- what's the worst that could happen?" While all the people who were actually paying attention backed off and listened to the directives of the police, she and the others stood there and got taken by complete surprise and instead of feeling the normal emotion of discomfort, shame and embarrassment, they feel heroic.

Of course, their crowd is so desperate to join the ranks of true heroes that they automatically reinforce this ridiculous idea.

OWS: A Reader's perspective.

Yesterday, posted regarding OWS. I linked to a blogger who described similarities between OWS and the Tea Party. I'm trying to be not-like the people who found every reason to vilify the Tea Party even when their points were inaccurate or didn't make any sense. I'm trying to be more open-minded and tolerant of those with whom I disagree. I'm trying to see the other side of things in the hopes that through understanding their arguments, I can help come up with a solution.

Unfortunately, this isn't a fairy tale and my name isn't Alice so that doesn't seem particularly likely to happen.

John Thomas (a frequent commenter on this blog) provided some insight that I'd like to bring to the forefront of this blog because unlike the anti-Tea Party crowd, he has made some legitimate, realistic and accurate points about OWS. Here it is in its entirety. Keep in mind that it was written as a comment on a post and not an actual post so its off-the-cuff construction is perfectly acceptable.

I completely disagree. There is virtually no common ground between the TEA Party and these dregs of society. The TEA Party's "Platform" envelopes the entire graph above. The TEA Party types (not politicians trying to capitalize on it) could sum up their beliefs with: "Less government, no hand-outs, more accountability equals more freedom and opportunity". The Occu-tards aren't angry that "Corporations have too much power", they're angry that they don't get cradle to grave entitlements (free stuff on the backs of the producing class) or 100K a year to do whatever job they "Choose to take" from these corporations. They want (and openly call for) a Communist style state that will magically take everything away from people they don't like and give it to them. It's simply a lust for "Revenge". They're so stupid that they believe under Communist control, they'll be "Free" and "Equal". Their "Education" has failed them. They are complete, useful idiots. They are America's lost and worthless generation. They are mostly filthy, face-tattooed, stoned, mis-educated white trash that has never had to actually struggle for anything in their life. They grew up thinking that they could look and act anyway they want and simply cry and stamp their feet if they didn't get it. It worked with Mommy, Daddy and school teacher, why won't it work outside of the school and home? Everything has been provided to them, but it's just not enough, they want your stuff too.

I would like to point out though that he likely meant "They are complete, useless idiots." rather than what he wrote but I left it unchanged in the quote above. Either way, keep the comments coming. Your words are heard and welcome here- even if you express opinions with which we disagree.

I stand corrected by Klown: The term "useful idiot" has been around for a long time.

It is said that this is the term that Lenin gave to people who supported him but didn't really understand him (although this has never really been substantiated.)

A Liberal with whom I frequently agree.

"IN recent years, we’ve been treated to reams of op-ed articles about how we need better teachers in our public schools and, if only the teachers’ unions would go away, our kids would score like Singapore’s on the big international tests. There’s no question that a great teacher can make a huge difference in a student’s achievement, and we need to recruit, train and reward more such teachers. But here’s what some new studies are also showing: We need better parents. Parents more focused on their children’s education can also make a huge difference in a student’s achievement"

Full article HERE.

An occupier who makes sense.

Again from Twitter, I came across this blogger's post:

That the occupy movements lack definition is a feature, not a bug. Because occupy has no centralized leader or mission, everyone is allowed to project their own meaning onto it. I’ve seen occupy as a manifestation of anxiety over the influence of organizations in our lives. I believe it’s the same anxiety felt by people who identify with the Tea Party (which I found repulsive, probably based on my own classism).
I think he has a point here and I hope more Occupiers follow his lead. The Tea Party and OWS have a lot in common even if they have very divergent methodologies for making their point. I've been saying all along that Big Government is every bit as bad as Big Corporations are. The fact that the two are so closely intertwined should be alarming to anyone paying attention. This message is unfortunately being squandered by the anarchy and disorder all too obvious in OWS.

Take a look at this guy's blog though and read for yourself. Sure, he's leaning to the Left but enough of what he says makes enough sense to make it a worthwhile read.

Liberals have always been about "the show".

I have always asserted that Liberals are driven by an overwhelming compulsion to appear cool and smart when they brag to their friends who are desperate for a glimpse of life outside their greyish, ordinary world. Here's a "jackass" who went to Occupy Toronto with an infrared camera and found that 90% of the tents were empty. I didn't realize there was work in Canada ridiculing Libs (or I wouldn't have spent so much time avoiding the place) but these guys are certainly adept at it. I think the whole movie is worth watching but the IR part starts at around the 5:30 mark.

Some of the Liberal logic I've read on Twitter..

"The reason we have crime is because of white collar crime"

"I do think the City itself and even Bloomberg ... brought Occupy Wall Street on themselves."

Here's one of my favorite "hot topics"- Police pepper spraying students at UC Davis. Of course the video doesn't show the full story. However, it clearly shows students locking arms and blocking a sidewalk and a police officer clearly showing the crowd that he's holding pepper spray and that he intends to use it. We can see that the students blocking the thoroughfare are prepared for this by the fact that they're trying to tuck their faces into their $200 fleeces.

The truth-loving left has characterized this in several different ways and they wonder why they have no credibility among those who think for themselves:

Nice show of solidarity RT : Remarkably casual use of chemical weapons on humans in US
"chemical weapons"? Sure technically it's true but a reasonable person would recognize quickly that it's "misleading".

Amazing. students chanting "you can go" before 2nd round of tear gas, and the cops leave. RT (Comically, this tweet included a link to a video on

And then back to the normal whining and grousing...
has been Demonizing since day one and it's done 24/7 just like they have done to Preside...
A plea to police across the nation; Please stop beating us, stop spraying us, stop hurting us. Take a breath and stop the violence.  (How about you stop violating the rights of others in the name of your first amendment rights and THEN the police will leave you alone?)
. once again proves her unbelievable badassery in the face of corporate stooges.
"Unbelievable badassery [sic]" I guess that's what they call it when a Liberal expresses an intelligent, thoughtful opinion without swearing, shouting, chanting, or drums. If they're going to be lionizing people for being literate and eloquent, I'm going to join them just to get the recognition I so richly deserve. Now clearly, you should know on which side of the argument I'm on but I feel it's important to hear from the other side as long as it's presented in a reasonably clear and coherent fashion.

Yes they appear to be about the same?

Poor little rich boy.

Isaac Wilder during happier times.

And so now, at the unmarked underpass entrance, Wilder’s looking for his backpack, and his Freedom Tower. And $5000 in cash. This is all the money he has.

Isaac Wilder recently.
I'm sorry but $5,000 in cash lost? Either he's a rich kid, a drug dealer, or a fool (as if any two of the three are mutually exclusive). Why anybody would ever walk around with more cash than they could afford to lose is beyond me. Then again, there is much I don't understand of the workings of hippies and communists. Perhaps he didn't think his money would be safe in a bank. Perhaps he was protesting corporate greed by keeping "all the money he has had" in a backpack (if that's where it even was). Either way, he was wrong. Either way, he should just report the lost to _____ I'm sure they'll understand and reimburse him promptly even if he somehow and mysteriously cannot produce a receipt.

Two sides to every story.

Based on the comments HERE, some only see police brutality with a uniformed officer pulling a woman by her hair.
Nobody mentioned the strap clearly in his hands and given the calm demeanor on her face, he wasn't pulling her hair at all. I'm all for taking a stand for what you believe but don't let your ideologies get in the way of the truth.

Think "capitalism" instead of "Romans"

By Gary Wolfram
William Simon Professor of Economics and Public Policy
Hillsdale College

Whenever I watch media coverage of another Occupy Wall Street event I am reminded of an exchange between Jewish protesters in the 1979 Monte Python movie Life of Brian. One of the protesters asks another what the Romans have brought to the area and the conversation goes like this:
Question: All right, but apart from the sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?
Answer: Brought peace?
Response: Oh, peace - shut up!
Every semester I ask my students: "What would you rather be? King of England in 1263 or you?" Turns out, students would rather be themselves. They enjoy using their iPhone, indoor plumbing, central heating, refrigerators and electric lighting. All of these things are available to the average person in America today and none of them were available to the aristocracy when the West operated under the feudal system.

How is it that for thousands of years mankind made very little progress in increasing the standard of living and yet today half of the goods and services you use in the next week did not exist when I was born?

I try another experiment with my students. I tell them they are about to be born and they can choose whatever country in the world they would like to be born in. The only caveat is they will be the poorest person in that country. Every student picks a country that is primarily organized in a market capitalist system. No one picks a centrally planned state. No one says, "I want to be the poorest person in North Korea, Cuba, or Zimbabwe," countries which are at the bottom of the Heritage Foundation's Index of Economic Freedom. More here:

Making fun of women, yes, that's GOTTA sting

These guys have a couple more at youtube. Just don't watch the ones that aren't making fun of girls, cuz they SUCK.

A little bit of nostalgia for you.

Remember this? Remember how comical it was when Democrats called the Tea Party "the angry mob"? Now that they're faced with an actual angry mob- an angry mob of their own party, they've gone clownfish on us and are trying like mad to go unnoticed as if they have nothing at all to do with any of it now that it's decayed rapidly into a free-for-all.

It's no wonder why these people have no credibility.

I wasn't even close on this one

A ladder is leaning against a tree. On the center rung is a pussycat. She must be a very determined pussycat, because she remains on that rung as we draw the foot of the ladder away from the tree until the ladder is lying flat on the ground. What path does the pussycat describe as she undergoes this indignity?
I found this at the Futility Closet ... click on over for the answer:
Note: Once there you have to click where it says "Click for answer" (lower right.)

Those stupid, violent, racist, Tea Partiers are at it again

Later in the video, he then goes on to say “No more talking. They’ve got guns, we’ve got bottles. They’ve got bricks, we’ve got rocks…in a few days you’re going to see what a Molotov cocktail can do to Macy’s.”

Did you see this in on the news? Of course not.
Do you think you would you have seen it if it were done by the Tea Party?

Is there a problem, officer? Is this sort of thing frowned upon?

On Friday, a student at Schaumburg Christian School, located at 200 N. Roselle Rd., reported to another teacher that LaDuke appeared to be masturbating while seated at his podium during class.

Investigators determined that, while seated at a podium in class on Friday, LaDuke unzipped and lowered his pants and masturbated while students were present in the classroom.  More here:

What's the world coming to when a teacher canna  pound his pud behind the podium anymore.  Also ... who "sits behind a podium?"  I thought you called that a desk.  Anyway, good thing it wasn't a Christian schoo ... D'OH!!

Hey, hey, ho, ho, ... what rhymes with "GAAAA?" We don't know

New York City police in riot gear swept into a Lower Manhattan park early today to remove Occupy Wall Street demonstrators who had been camping there for more than eight weeks to protest income inequality.

The action followed similar moves that shut camps in Oakland, California, and Portland, Oregon. New York police and the park’s owners told protesters at 1 a.m. local time to remove items such as tents and sleeping bags, after which city workers cleared remaining belongings, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said. More here:

Yes, but "OOPS!"

From a different story:

Hours later, the National Lawyers Guild obtained a court order allowing Occupy Wall Street protesters to return with tents to the park. The guild said the injunction prevents the city from enforcing park rules on Occupy Wall Street protesters. More here:

Is it just me or does it feel like "the people of America against the lawyers and judges" in this country anymore?  I mean, these jackasses took over a public space, harassed bystanders and passersby, and caused small businesses adjacent to their "encampments" to lose business ... for MONTHS!  Who is going to pay the small businesses back their rent money and lost profits?  Where is the judge that is going to rule that OWS has to pay them back?  I'll tell you where ... nowhere.

We have simply GOT to do something about the runaway judicial branch in America.  I thought there were three co-equal branches of government ... not a ruling elite in black robes.  I'm a big fan of Herman Cain but something tells me Newt Gingrich has addressed this problem and has a solution.  I'm too lazy to check it out right now but feel free to check it out for yourself.

Oh the heck with it, I couldn't stand it so I quickly found something.  This speech was a few years ago. The video should start at the 5:19 mark and the first minute or two after that should tell you all you need to know about Newt's position on the judiciary. I don't know if he has something in his current "presidential platform."

That's right, teach those greedy corporations a lesson they won't forget

As more retailers try to turn Thanksgiving Thursday into Black Friday — some employees are fighting back.

More than 80,000 people signed an online petition on asking retail giant Target to reverse its decision to open its doors on Thanksgiving Day — and allow workers to spend the holiday with family and friends.

There are hundreds of comments on the petition supporting retail workers’ rights to Thanksgiving Day off, including this one from Caroline Hemenway: “This is absurd! Corporations are treating their workforce like serfs and fomenting a toxic consumer culture. Pure, unadulterated greed.” More here:

Heh, well ... I support workers getting together, voluntarily (in a constructive manner) to affect company policies; however,  I do not agree with Ms Hemenway's sentiments.

Hey, Ms Hemenway ... Target offered you a job.  Do you know what a "job" is, Ms Hemenway, because, I don't think you do. Allow me to explain.  A "job" is work that a business wants performed. The business offers a wage in return for the work.  In other words, you do the work they have and they pay you.  Sometimes, as a result of changing conditions, the job requirements change ... and if you hate it that much you are free to quit.

It's not up to you to decide when the work gets done, it's up to the company.  Why?  Because the company is taking all the risks ... they own the "job" ... end of story.  If it screws up, there is no profit.  If there is no profit, there is no "job."  Capisce?

And why is the company "greedy" but you are not "greedy?"  Sounds to me like you want to call the shots, take none of the risks, and get paid to boot.  Sounds like you think the company OWES it to you to allow you to do the "job" at your leisure.  Sounds like pure, unadulterated greed to me.

My guess is you're one of those pieces of crap negative co-workers who is constantly running the company down (behind their back) while accepting their wages and benefits.

If you work on a holiday, do you get paid extra or do you turn down the extra money ... you know ... because, after all, you aren't "greedy" are you, Ms Hemenway?  Do you accept the company match on your 401K?

I sincerely hope some good comes of this for you, Ms Hemenway.  I hope a competent manager sees your comments and figures out a way to fire your ungrateful ass extract you from the "toxic consumer culture" you so despise.  I would see this as a critical part of his/her job ... as part of his/her commitment and responsibility to your co-workers.

I love Dalai Lamer jokes. Big hitter, the Lamer.

Heard it on the Neal BOORTZ show

Copied and posted here from his web page

Here’s the deal. You live in Michigan. Michigan is a “forced-union” state where you can be forced to join a union in order to work. If you elect not to actually join the union, you have to pay union dues anyway. Quite a deal --- for unions; and for Democrats too, by the way, because Michigan unions throw almost 100% of their financial support behind Democrats every election. No surprises yet.

So let’s put our heads together and see how we can take Medicaid money and turn it into contributions to Democrats? Legally, of course! Really … there just has to be a way to do this. And as a matter of fact, there is! I don’t really know who cooked this mess up, but it was served by former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm! A Democrat, of course.

Here’s how it works. You are a parent of a mentally disabled adult child. You accept Medicaid payments from the State of Michigan. Governor Granholm. As I understand the story, Governor Granholm --- and remember that she is a Democrat --- initiated a program whereby all adults in Michigan who accept Medicaid dollars for the care of their disabled adult children are deemed to be providing care for their children as employees – yes, as employees – of some government outfit called the Michigan Quality Community Care Council.

OK … so why is it so goll-durned important for the Democrats to designate these parents of disabled adult children as government employees? Well, that would be because if they’re government employees they have to pay dues to the government employee’s union! And that would be the wonderful Service Employees International union – the purple-shirted goons of the SEIU. So now that you’re an official government employee – though all you’re doing is taking care of your own children – the SEIU now deducts $30 a month from your Medicaid payments for dues. Isn’t that just great! There’s certainly nothing else you could use that $30 bucks for, is there?

How much does this add up for SEIU in any given year? Try about $6 million bucks. Is it any wonder unions work so hard to keep Democrats in office? On average, over 90% of political contributions to Democrats or to support Democrat and liberal ballot measures like last week’s pro-government union vote in Ohio. Want figures? From 2007 to 2008 the SEIU gave just 3.12% of it’s political contributions to Republicans. 96.67% of donations went to Democrats or Democrat ballot initiatives. How much money are we talking about? $9,900,000 from the union itself, and another $25 million plus from subsidiaries and employees of SEIU. So you know where much of that $6 million is going, don’t you? Yup .. right into Democrat campaigns and in support of Democrat ballot initiatives.

Suddenly it makes these making these caregivers government employees makes sense, doesn’t it? At least from a Democrat perspective.

Gov. Rick Snyder, R-Mich., director of the Department of Human Services ended that program. "[We] will stop all funding and, because these providers are not state employees, will also cease collecting union dues,” DHS director Maura Corrigan said at the time.

Michigan's state House has already passed a bill to prevent this sort of rent-seeking by public-sector unions, but it has stalled in the state Senate.

Gay man attacked by disgusting, intolerant, violent Tea Partier

A cast member of the gay reality TV show “A-List Dallas” tells The Daily Caller that he was punched to the ground and bloodied Friday night by someone vandalizing his car because he’s a gay conservative associated with commentator Ann Coulter.

Taylor Garrett, a Republican consultant in Texas who stars in the reality series on the channel LOGO TV, said in an interview that he was attacked outside a birthday party in Dallas after finding a vandal scratching “F–k Coulter” on the side of his car.

“I was at a party and one of my friends arrived and I had a present for him, so I went back to my car to get the present,” he recalled. “When I walked out to my car, I saw someone squatting next to my car.”

After asking the vandal what he was doing, Garrett said the large man stood up and decked him in his left eye. Garrett fell to the ground. He also scraped up his body by falling into some glass that was next to his car, Garrett said. The attacker got away.

“I would’ve thought people would have been a little more tolerant considering that our community advocates for tolerance, but it has been nothing but mean spirited attacks, especially after the Ann Coulter scene,” he said. More here:

That's one of the great things about libtards.  Not only are they all geniuses but they're so tolerant as well.  Yes, very introspective bunch.

Democratics starting to be sorry they aligned with OWS?

Gene Simmons made a speech recently

This mess is our fault — corporations have no responsibility.

Capitalism is the best thing that ever happened to human beings.

The welfare state sounds wonderful but it doesn’t work.

Governments hand out more money than they have to support welfare and they land in debt.

Then they have to borrow money — and then there’s interest on top of that.

That’s bad business. And it has created a culture of entitlement.

When I was growing up my mother went to work. There was no welfare. If you worked, you made money.
If you didn’t work, you had to figure it out — you’d go and wash dishes.

The new breed of 20-year-olds don’t want to do those jobs.

So people from other countries come over and are thrilled to get the chance to wipe the floors.

Kiss are the only business-savvy band about and I make no apologies for that.

We sell everything from condoms to caskets — we’ll get you coming and we’ll get you going.

We outsell The Beatles and Elvis put together.

People say things like: “Oh, you make so much money. What do you need any more for?”
Well, actually, b*tch, I never asked for your opinion. I’ll let you know when I have enough money.
More here:

I agree, Gene.  That's the thing about idiot libs ... they're always thinking about what they can get out of other people.  They can't worry about themselves and leave other people alone ... that's impossible for an idiot lib.  You see, the libs are great geniuses but they cannot keep their genius to themselves ... no, they must involve others in everything they do.
