Food Lion is pissing me off

Here is a copy of the email I sent them today. (Sep 20, 2009)
I love Food Lion but I cannot stand it when the employees have to say "Welcome to Food Lion" -- and then, once I'm in the store it's "Welcome to the Deli" and so forth. This is not only distracting to me but I'm embarrassed for your employees as well. I'm also embarrassed for the person who had the brilliant idea. Please knock it off.

Also, I DO NOT like to be solicited for your charities at checkout. It just shows what you really think of your customers when you do that ... it seems you couldn't care less if we're embarrassed at having to say "no." True charity is anonymous. If your company wants to donate then do so but don't brag about it ... that's disgusting.

I received a reply (below.) Upon receipt of the reply, I replied right back. That's why my words are mixed in here with their reply to me. This is exactly the way I sent it back to them. Notice I didn't use the word "jackass" even once.

Mr. Evil Klown (Real name redacted)
Address redacted
Address redacted

Dear Mr. Klown:

Thank you for your recent email regarding the circumstances you encountered with us. I very much appreciate your contacting our company.

Your taking the time to make me aware of your thoughts and ideas is greatly valued. We are always anxious to hear from our customers. Consumer involvement helps us to identify ways that we can improve on meeting our customer's needs. Please be assured that your comments will be kept under review for future consideration.

We appreciate you sharing your feelings regarding our fund raising promotion. We are sorry if you have felt pressured to donate. But not sorry enough to stop asking me to donate? Our associates are passionate about supporting charitable causes and helping our communities. I can assure you, you are wrong. Your "associates" are NOT passionate about having to ask every last customer if they'd like to donate. In fact, I'd be willing to bet they HATE IT and resent Food Lion for demanding they do so. I mean, is this an outright lie or are you people delusional? The part I like best is reading "Food Lion donated ..." in the newspaper when we all know your customers did the donating. We expect this to be conducted in a manner that does not pressure, embarrass or otherwise discomfort our customers. I see ... you "expect it." And exactly HOW can you expect asking for donations ... in the checkout line ... in front of other people ... to be free from pressure, discomfort, and embarrassment (for both customer and "associate" alike?) This is another outright lie. You must really think I'm stupid if you think I'm going to buy the fact that you don't realize what you're doing. Please accept our apologies for not having fulfilled that expectation on your last visit. I'd be glad to accept your apologies if you stopped with the solicitation of "donations" for which you plan to claim credit. I just LOVE it when companies donate to charity using other people's money and then use the donation to get free press about their "generosity." Who brags about giving to charity? It's contemptible. Yes, I know, you people think it's great press/community relations ... they told you that in school, right?

Food Lion takes pride in being great neighbors in our communities. We are grateful for the tremendous support of our customers in helping us give back to the communities we serve. We select the charities we choose to support very carefully. 100% of the money raised remains in the community.

Again, we apologize that our service on your last visit did not meet your expectation or ours. We value your feedback and will consider this carefully when developing charitable campaigns in the future. Um, you forgot to address the "Welcome to Food Lion ... Welcome to the Deli" business. Let me guess ... your associates INSIST on doing that too ... am I right? Seriously, I really like my local Food Lion (and the people who work there) but if you don't stop this behavior I'm going to look for another grocery store. There is another store just about 1/2 mile further away from me but I'd really rather not go there. That's why I'm taking the time to write you these letters. I can promise you this much ... if I do start shopping somewhere else, I'm not coming back. Also, let me just say that I am not the only customer who hates these policies. I've actually discussed this with many of my friends who are eager to hear of the results of my conversations with you.

Lastly, I'm not naive enough to think this letter is going to do any good. The problem is that your management is sure that they are right and I am wrong. They are sure that the continuation of these policies will not result in decreased business for Food Lion. Even if they weren't, there is NO WAY they're going to let themselves (geniuses) be pushed around by their idiot customers, right?

Anyway, that's enough. This is the last letter you'll get from me. I've already spent FAR too much time trying to convince you to listen.

Health care, recession, unemployment, global financial crisis, Iran's secret nuclear site and war games that have the world on edge and now Gen. McChrystal wants 40,000 new troops in Afghanistan or we will definitely lose the war. All these pressing matters will have to be put on the back burner, because an issue of national importance has arisen that only the president of the free world can address; The 2016 Olympics.

This Thursday Obama and his wife will fly to Copenhagen and make their bid to host the Olympics in Chicago, and fly back on Friday afternoon. Chicago would be competing with Rio De Janeiro, Madrid and Tokyo.

Why is Barack going to Copenhagen, especially when his wife was already set to go on her own and make this bid, when he has so many pressing issues? Maybe he's realizing that his plans for Socializing the nation is crumbling or maybe he can't handle the job and is looking for other things to do other than leading the nation. Either way this is not why we elect a president, to gallivant around the world like a salesman, he is elected to run a country. I think making a bid for the Olympics should be at the bottom of his list, if on it at all, of things to do. Thank you Obama for finding yet another way to lose the respect of the country.

its hard to kiss the lips at night

If you don't like country music this should still be funny for you.
Its been around for a few years (I think) and you probably heard it before but I still laugh when I hear it.

Tax increase urgently needed

WASHINGTON -- A tiny car company backed by former Vice President Al Gore has just gotten a $529 million U.S. government loan to help build a hybrid sports car in Finland that will sell for about $89,000.

The award this week to California startup Fisker Automotive Inc. follows a $465 million government loan to Tesla Motors Inc., purveyors of a $109,000 British-built electric Roadster. Tesla is a California startup focusing on all-electric vehicles, with a number of celebrity endorsements that is backed by investors that have contributed to Democratic campaigns.

The awards to Fisker and Tesla have prompted concern from companies that have had their bids for loans rejected, and criticism from groups that question why vehicles aimed at the wealthiest customers are getting loans subsidized by taxpayers. More here:

Oh man, this is rich. They're squandering your hard-earned money like it's a new hobby. They're giving it away for global warming ... but only to people who are good friends with Al Gore and the dipshitocrats. They can't throw your money away fast enough.

It's ok though ... cuz we have plenty of money to lend ... we're not in a financial crisis or anything. I'm going to keep voting for liberals .... they're so much smarter than me.

Throw the bastards out

I borrowed the title from a Willie Nelson quote, and its pretty obvious where the poster came from. I for one will not vote for any incumbent, since I have taken the pledge to defend the constitution.

Another way to spend the stimulus money

The UK's largest haul of Anglo-Saxon treasure has been discovered buried in a field in Staffordshire.
Experts say the collection of 1,500 gold and silver pieces, which may date to the 7th Century, is unparalleled in size and worth "a seven-figure sum".

Amateur treasure-hunter, Terry Herbert, unearthed the gold artefacts from a farmer's field last July using his metal detector.

I believe Herbert, was unemployed when he made his find which gives me an idea.
Obama, could purchase metal detectors, with part of the stimulus package, for all of the current unemployed citizens and put them to work in different parts of the country to find items of value. They would of course have to split any valuable finds 50 - 50 with him. This could then be counted as another success story due to the stimulus package and would lower the unemployment roles immediately

Children Who Get Spanked Have Lower IQs
Guess you CAN'T knock some sense into em.

Spanking can get kids to behave in a hurry, but new research suggests it can do more harm than good to their noggins. The study, involving hundreds of U.S. children, showed the more a child was spanked the lower his or her IQ compared with others.

"All parents want smart children," said study researcher Murray Straus of the University of New Hampshire. "This research shows that avoiding spanking and correcting misbehavior in other ways can help that happen."
One might ask, however, whether children who are spanked tend to come from backgrounds in which education opportunities are less or inherited intelligence lower.
But while the results only show an association between spanking and intelligence, Straus says his methodology and the fact that he took into account other factors that could be at play (such as parents' socioeconomic status) make a good case for a causal link. Po people like to take it out on their kids.

The Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation in Maryland studied nationally representative samples of two age groups: 806 children ages 2 to 4, and 704 ages 5 to 9. The researchers tested the kids' IQs initially and then four years later.
Both groups of kids got smarter after four years. But the 2- to 4-year-olds who were spanked scored 5 points lower on the IQ test than those not spanked. For children ages 5 to 9, the spanked ones scored on average 2.8 points lower than their unspanked counterparts.

Whether or not spanking equates with dumber kids is not known, and may never be known. That's because the only way to truly show cause and effect would be to follow over time two groups of kids, one randomly assigned to get spanked and another who would not get spanked. Any volunteers? Barring that method, which is unfeasible, Straus considers his study the next best thing, as he looked back at a nationally representative set of kids who were followed over time.

If spanking does send IQ scores down, Straus and others offer some explanations for what might be going on.

"Contrary to what everyone believes, being hit by parents is a traumatic experience," Straus said. Especially when they piss themselves. "We know from lots of research that traumatic stresses affect the brain adversely." Also, the trauma could cause kids to have more stressful responses in difficult situations, and so may not perform as well cognitively.

Even though spanking has been shown to cause negative consequences, Gershoff said many parents still fall back on the behavior-shaping tool. As for why, she says it's a quick fix, though its seeming success is short-lived and the negative consequences often outweigh the positives. Parents also might have been spanked themselves and so continue the tradition. Like Christmas and Thanksgiving.

And you thought dumb people having dumb kids was gentetic.

Brave Deposed Honduras President

TEGUCIGALPA -- It's been 89 days since Manuel Zelaya was booted from power. He's sleeping on chairs, and he claims his throat is sore from toxic gases and "Israeli mercenaries'' are torturing him with high-frequency radiation.

"We are being threatened with death,'' he said in an interview with The Miami Herald, adding that mercenaries were likely to storm the embassy where he has been holed up since Monday and assassinate him.

"I prefer to march on my feet than to live on my knees before a military dictatorship,'' Zelaya said in a series of back-to-back interviews.

Zelaya was deposed at gunpoint on June 28 and slipped back into his country on Monday, just two days before he was scheduled to speak before the United Nations. He sought refuge at the Brazilian Embassy, where Zelaya said he is being subjected to toxic gases and radiation that alter his physical and mental state. More here:

Huh? March on feet than live on knees? Very brave ... meanwhile, he won't step foot out of the Brazillian embassy where he is being bombarded with gases and radiation. Very brave indeed. When does the feet-marching start?

Brenda Earls of Gaffney, SC was going around her town placing American Flags in the lawns of business' and homes in honor of Christopher Fowlkes. He was the son of one of Brenda's neighbors, and had watched him grow up.

Christopher, a 20 year old Marine, had become the latest casualty of the War on Terror, when he died in a hospital after an explosion in the Helman Province. When she and the neighbors heard the news of his death in Afghanistan, Mrs. Earl went on a crusade to ensure that he was remembered.

One business that she placed flags in front of was the Bank of America, the very branch she did her banking. When returning home one day from going around town placing memorials, she noticed that the bank did not have any flags out front. So assuming she had just missed them, she began to place new ones in the ground. When suddenly the bank manager came out and was told she had to remove the flags. And when she inquired why, she was told the bank had a policy that stated they could not put up any flags, including the U.S. Flag.

Mrs. Earls couldn't believe what she was hearing, I mean the Bank of AMERICA would not allow a U.S. Flag on their property, even a little one placed to honor a local boy who had lost his life over seas. Mrs. Earls, upon learning that she had placed flags there earlier but was soon removed, quickly went inside to retrieve the flags before they were thrown out. She has since closed her account, along with others in the town.

The bank later came out with a statement that the manager had misunderstood the policy, and the bank does proudly display the flag at all it's branch's. Oddly Enough Mrs. Earls, thinking this was an odd policy, had gone to another Bank of America in town and noticed that there was a flag pole but no flag.

This poses an interesting question, What possible policy could he have misunderstood when it came to the American Flag? This is the same bank that got an estimated 25 billion dollars in bailout money, and yet they can't even display an American Flag. Perhaps they should change their name to the Bank of the Un-America.

Bail out for news organizations?

The president said he is "happy to look at" bills before Congress that would give struggling news organizations tax breaks if they were to restructure as nonprofit businesses.

"I haven't seen detailed proposals yet, but I'll be happy to look at them," Obama told the editors of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Toledo Blade in an interview.

Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.) has introduced S. 673, the so-called "Newspaper Revitalization Act," that would give outlets tax deals if they were to restructure as 501(c)(3) corporations. That bill has so far attracted one cosponsor, Cardin's Maryland colleague Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D). More here:

Oh hell yes, Obama. Give my tax money to everyone trying to bankrupt America. Plenty of money for illegal aliens. Plenty of money for "Stimulus." Plenty of money for "Healthcare." Plenty of money for ACORN. Plenty of money for every communist with a fur hat ... but the war on terror? Ohhhh, that's a BIG problem, right, jackass?

Happy "Talk Like A Pirate Day"

Here's a pirate keyboard. If you can't read it, the top left key says "Avast" If you don't know about Talk Like A Pirate Day you can go here to learn morrrrrre. Here's a video with a quick lesson. Arrrrrrrrr.

And the question is?

What do you call a doofus of less-than-average intelligence who tries to pass himself off as a super genius to the general public?

A - Evil Klown?

B - The average liberal idiot?

C - A Jourrrrnalist (oops, I repeated myself)

D - A pathetic loser on Jeopardy?

Well, let's see what happinks when you combine three out of four of the answers listed above, shall we? I think we shall. Now you will know what happens when some jackass who thinks he's always right continues to blurt his idiocy when there are immediate and tangible consequences for doing so. It's only sooo sweet.

Slobbering moron on TV

While concluding a segment on racism involved in anti-Obama protests, MSNBC Hardball host Chris Matthews promoted the book of one of his guests, liberal historian Douglas Brinkley.

Brinkley’s book, Teddy Roosevelt: The Wilderness Warrior, did make the New York Times best seller list, coming in at twenty one. However, the list’s top ten was dominated by "right-wing crap." Michelle Malkin’s Culture of Corruption, takes the top spot. Bill O’Reilly’s A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity comes in at number six, with Mark Levin’s Liberty and Tyranny at number seven. Dick Morris’s Castrophe earned a number eight ranking.

It's so nice to see Chrissie Mathews being "fair and objective" once again. The thing that really cracks me up though is the part where he admits he puts books on his shelf so he can impress his idiot liberal friends. Hey, Chrissie ... if you'd read a book now and then, instead of "putting it on your shelf" you wouldn't be such a braying jackass. Hee Haw - Hee Haw.

The stimulus is WORKING!!

They're spending hundreds of billions of dollars to stimulate the economy, so Senate Democrats said Wednesday they might as well spend millions putting up signs to highlight where the money is being spent. Yes, of course ... we "might as well." What the hell, we're only talking tens of millions ... it's chicken feed.

The road signs, which let motorists know the paving and construction projects they see are being paid for by the $787 billion economic stimulus program, have popped up across the country. In a 52-45 vote, the Senate decided the signs should stay.

"Why on earth would you want to hide from the American people the fact that the recovery package we passed is putting people to work?" asked Sen. Barbara Boxer, California Democrat, who took the lead in defending the expenditure. She said stimulus spending is beginning to improve the economy and charged that Republicans and Democrats who voted to strip out the funds are angry about that success. Really, Barbara? Success? If this is success, I'd hate to see miserable failure. If only someone could have predicted this would fail ... some super genius from the future perhaps ... or me ... take your pick.

You know what I'm going to do now? I'm going to borrow an amount equal to my next year's income and spend wildly to see if it stimulates my family's economy. And I'm going to print up signs so my family and friends can see how smart I am and thank me profusely. Hey ... I predict it works great for a while. Of course, once I start paying back the money they might have to go without a few things here and there. I sure hope they're smart enough to get all the "nuance" and appreciate the "success" down the road ... because I define success as having a huge debt load.

"It's my sense that there's a frustration by the people who voted 'no' on the economic recovery act, the stimulus bill, there's a frustration that it's working. They predicted gloom and doom," Mrs. Boxer said. Really? Doom and gloom? What a bunch of dumbasses, right Barbara?

They're too stupid to see success. Hell, they wouldn't know success if someone balled up a huge wad of debt, wrote "success" on it and jammed it up their asses. All that work you do goes unappreciated - *sniff*

But Sen. Judd Gregg, the New Hampshire Republican who tried to excise the funds, called his amendment a no-brainer. He said it's common sense to get rid of tens of millions of dollars in spending. Whaaaa? A politician making clean sense and explaining it in one sentence flat?

"These are self-congratulatory signs; they're political signs. They're so that lawmakers can pat themselves on the back," he said. "But these signs cost money. Actually, when you add them all up, they cost a lot of money." Yes, that makes sense also. No wonder Dipshitocrats don't understand it. You say that to them and all you get is a blank stare.

Some localities have objected to the signs, arguing that they would rather spend the money on more projects. But Mr. Gregg said one community in New Hampshire was told no sign, no money for their original project. LMAO. "Put the sign up or you don't get the money ... got me? Jackass?"

"We do enough self-congratulating around here. They shouldn't make the taxpayers pay for it," he said. Again, this is so obvious it prolly gives a Dipshitocrat brain damage.

I love it ... the government exceeds its constitutional power over and over ... interferes in the free market FAR BEYOND the capacity of the market to respond ... SPENDS like drunken liberals ... and then blames the free market when there's a crisis. And what's their solution? MORE spending, MORE government, and MORE intervention in the market.

Actually FIX healthcare? Nahhhhh

Of COURSE there's no tort reform. That's because tort reform combined with the Fair Tax would put the United States even FARTHER ahead of the rest of the world in competitiveness, living standards, and freedom.

How in the hell did these jackass "environmentalists" EVER get granted "standing" in the courts so they could sue on behalf of you and me? How in the GD hell did THAT happen? Think about it, they go into court and file lawsuits ON YOUR BEHALF. The suits almost ALWAYS cost YOU money ... WTF? This crap is outrageous on its face and I'M SURE it's not what the framers of the Constitution had in mind.

Yep, all I want to do is knock them to their knees with a baseball bat, grab them by their ponytail, and then smack their teeth on the curb so hard their Birkenstocks fly off ... figuratively speaking, of course.

Jackass politicians have our court system and tax system so fucked up they should be brought up on charges. Incompetent fucking boobs. GAAAaaaaaa, I'm gonna have a scotch.

The government -- such a good nanny

Americans who slap $1 pricetags on their used possessions at garage sales or bazaar events risk being slapped with fines of up to $15 million, thanks to a new government campaign.

The "Resale Round-up," launched by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, enforces new limits on lead in children's products and makes it illegal to sell any items that don't meet those limits or have been recalled for any other reason.

The strict standards were set in the 2008 Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act after a series of high-profile recalls of Chinese-made toys.

The standards were originally interpreted to apply only to new products, but now the CPSC says they apply to used items as well.

"Those who resell recalled children's products are not only breaking the law, they are putting children's lives at risk,” said CPSC Chairman Inez Tenenbaum. "Resale stores should make safety their business and check for recalled products and hazards to children."

In order to comply, stores, flea markets, charities and individuals selling used goods — in person or online — are expected to consult the commission's 24-page Handbook for Resale Stores and Product Resellers (pdf) and its Web site for a breakdown of what they can't sell.

Violators caught selling anything on the enormous list face fines of up to $100,000 per infraction and up to $15 million for a related series of infractions. More here:

Thanks, big government, you're really helping now. I'm glad to see you're putting my money to good use. Please keep me on the straight and narrow. I sure am glad you told me about those Easy Bake Ovens ... those things were a real menace ... an outrageous danger. I now know the money you take from me is going for great things. I'll be sure to vote for every idiot lib on the ballot.

Michelle stomps big carbon footprint

Bold is mine.

There's nothing like the simple pleasures of a farm stand to return us to our agrarian roots.

Let's say you're preparing dinner and you realize with dismay that you don't have any certified organic Tuscan kale. What to do?

Here's how Michelle Obama handled this very predicament Thursday afternoon:

The Secret Service and the D.C. police brought in three dozen vehicles and shut down H Street, Vermont Avenue, two lanes of I Street and an entrance to the McPherson Square Metro station. They swept the area, in front of the Department of Veterans Affairs, with bomb-sniffing dogs and installed magnetometers in the middle of the street, put up barricades to keep pedestrians out, and took positions with binoculars atop trucks. Though the produce stand was only a block or so from the White House, the first lady hopped into her armored limousine and pulled into the market amid the wail of sirens.

Then, and only then, could Obama purchase her leafy greens. "Now it's time to buy some food," she told several hundred people who came to watch. "Let's shop!"

Cowbells were rung. Somebody put a lei of marigolds around Obama's neck. The first lady picked up a straw basket and headed for the "Farm at Sunnyside" tent, where she loaded up with organic Asian pears, cherry tomatoes, multicolored potatoes, free-range eggs and, yes, two bunches of Tuscan kale. She left the produce with an aide, who paid the cashier as Obama made her way back to the limousine.

The first lady had encouraged Freshfarm Markets, the group that runs popular farmers markets in Dupont Circle and elsewhere, to set up near the White House, and she helped get the approvals to shut down Vermont Avenue during rush hour on Thursdays. But the result was quite the opposite of a quaint farmers market. Considering all the logistics, each tomato she purchased had a carbon footprint of several tons.

Yes ... but never mind her carbon footprint ... it can't be helped. YOUR carbon footprint, however, CAN be helped. You know what would help it? A tax the size of Ted Kennedy's liver. These liberals are unbelievable. BAN DIHYDROMONOXIDE ... it's everywhere ... in our reservoirs, nuclear plants use it, farmers using it to increase crop yields, every living thing that is exposed to it dies -- BAN IT -- BAN IT!!!

Obama, in her brief speech to the vendors and patrons, handled the affordability issue by pointing out that people who pay with food stamps would get double the coupon value at the market. Even then, though, it's hard to imagine somebody using food stamps to buy what the market offered: $19 bison steak from Gunpowder Bison, organic dandelion greens for $12 per pound from Blueberry Hill Vegetables, the Piedmont Reserve cheese from Everson Dairy at $29 a pound. Rounding out the potential shopping cart: $4 for a piece of "walnut dacquoise" from the Praline Bakery, $9 for a jumbo crab cake at Chris's Marketplace, $8 for a loaf of cranberry-walnut bread and $32 for a bolt of yarn.

The first lady said the market would particularly appeal to federal employees in nearby buildings to "pick up some good stuff for dinner." Yet even they might think twice about spending $3 for a pint of potatoes when potatoes are on sale for 40 cents a pound at Giant. They could get nearly five dozen eggs at Giant for the $5 Obama spent for her dozen.

More here:

Close down Vermont Ave on Thursdays at rush hour? WTF? Ha ha -- what the fuck is wrong with idiot liberals.

Soda drinkers are witches - TAX THEM!!

Calling soda the new tobacco, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom will introduce legislation this fall that would charge a fee to retailers that sell sugary beverages.

Newsom would need voter approval to tax individual cans of soda and sugary juice, but only needs approval from the Board of Supervisors to levy a fee on retailers. His legislation would charge grocery stores like Safeway and big-box stores, but would not affect restaurants that serve sodas.

Newsom wouldn't say how much the stores would have to pay or how the city would spend the fees. When he first floated the idea in 2007, he said the money would go to his Shape Up San Francisco exercise program and for media campaigns to discourage soda drinking. More here:

Ha ha - keep voting for liberals/communists you fucking idiots. They're going to tax you on soda so they can advertise against the evil corporations that sell soda. And PIPE DOWN, WITCH ... before we get out the gasoline and burning-stakes. I mean, what were YOU going to do with your money anyway? Huh? Waste it, no doubt.

But don't worry, they'll probably stop with soda.
I sure hope they don't make Birkenstocks "the next tobacco," don't you?

His ass is TOAST

Illegals get health care? Banish the thought

President Obama said this week that his health care plan won't cover illegal immigrants, but argued that's all the more reason to legalize them and ensure they eventually do get coverage.

He also staked out a position that anyone in the country legally should be covered - a major break with the 1996 welfare reform bill, which limited most federal public assistance programs only to citizens and longtime immigrants.

"Even though I do not believe we can extend coverage to those who are here illegally, I also don't simply believe we can simply ignore the fact that our immigration system is broken," Mr. Obama said Wednesday evening in a speech to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. "That's why I strongly support making sure folks who are here legally have access to affordable, quality health insurance under this plan, just like everybody else.

Mr. Obama added, "If anything, this debate underscores the necessity of passing comprehensive immigration reform and resolving the issue of 12 million undocumented people living and working in this country once and for all."

Um -- don't you mean "For the third, or fourth, or fifth time and for all?" We've done this over and over and it's costing us a shitload ... but liberals never ask how much things cost ... noooo ... that's a sacrilege. Global warming? Cap and trade? Never mind the cost you jackass conservative. What? Cost/benefit analysis? What's that?

LMAO -- NO WONDER Obama said that illegals wouldn't be covered ... he planned on covering them all along ... he just couldn't do it so blatantly in the bill. Instead, he's going to "legalize" them all and cover them that way. No wonder Joe Wilson yelled out "YOU LIE."

Hey, now that Pelosi knows the truth, and that Joe Wilson was right, I wonder if she'll call on Obama to apologize on the house floor or vote to punish him.

Not long ago, Pew Research reported that trust in the media had dropped to its lowest levels in the 24 years that Pew has surveyed on the question. One media photographer says he can explain why. Pulitzer Prize winner David Hume Kennerly has been taking photos for decades, but says Newsweek shocked him with their use of a picture he took of Dick Cheney and his family preparing dinner. Kennerly tells what happened next:

Featured inside the magazine was a full-page, stand-alone picture of former Vice President Dick Cheney, knife in hand, leaning over a bloody carving board. Newsweek used it to illustrate a quote that he made about C.I.A. interrogators. By linking that photo with Mr. Cheney’s comment and giving it such prominence, they implied something sinister, macabre, or even evil was going on there.

I took that photograph at his daughter Liz’s home during a two-day assignment, and was shocked by its usage. The meat on the cutting board wasn’t the only thing butchered. In fact, Newsweek chose to crop out two-thirds of the original photograph, which showed Mrs. Cheney, both of their daughters, and one of their grandchildren, who were also in the kitchen, getting ready for a simple family dinner.

However, Newsweek’s objective in running the cropped version was to illustrate its editorial point of view, which could only have been done by shifting the content of the image so that readers just saw what the editors wanted them to see. This radical alteration is photo fakery. Newsweek’s choice to run my picture as a political cartoon not only embarrassed and humiliated me and ridiculed the subject of the picture, but it ultimately denigrated my profession.

The New York Times provided an opportunity for Newsweek to respond. VP Frank De Maria said that cropping has been an “accepted practice” in photography since its invention. He makes no apology for using the image to make a political point:

Is it a picture of the former vice president cutting meat? Yes, it is. Has it been altered? No. Did we use the image to make an editorial point — in this case, about the former vice president’s red-blooded, steak-eating, full-throated defense of his views and values? Yes, we did.

President Carter has great insight

"The National Hemorrhoid" - Ha ha - found the pic at Rush's site:

(CNN) -- Former President Jimmy Carter said Tuesday that racial politics played a role in South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson's outburst during President Obama's speech to Congress last week and in some of the opposition the president has faced since taking office.

"I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he's African-American," Carter told "NBC Nightly News." "I live in the South, and I've seen the South come a long way, and I've seen the rest of the country that shares the South's attitude toward minority groups at that time, particularly African-Americans."

"That racism inclination still exists, and I think it's bubbled up to the surface because of belief among many white people -- not just in the South but around the country -- that African-Americans are not qualified to lead this great country. It's an abominable circumstance, and it grieves me and concerns me very deeply," Carter said. More here:

Wow, lucky for me, Jimmy Carter, the great genius, has revealed that I'm a racist (witch.)

The lefties are good at this. First they define you as a witch (racist, fatty, smoker, evil corporation, big oil, bank, insurance company, etc) then they revile and vilify you. Usually they do this so they can tax the everloving shit out of you without a fight because it's easy to justify taxing a witch. I mean, after all, we're just lucky they don't burn us at the fucking stake, right?

If they're not pointing and hollering WITCH in order to tax you, then it's to make you shut up ... you know ... before they pull the stake and gasoline out.

By the way, was there EVER ... IN HISTORY ... a worse President than Jimmuh?

Just another dumb conservative

Banjo Man

From an e-mail I received, I do not know if the facts are right, but I think the whole cash for clunkers program is close to this explanation.

I guess I must be on the wrong page on this "clunker"stuff for some reason it never soundedright. But who was I to question the wisdom of the President of the United States? Well...I guess there's a good reason that I didn't vote for him. It just didn't seem right.

A vehicle at 15 mpg and 12,000 miles per year uses 800 gallons a year of

A vehicle at 25 mpg and 12,000 miles per year uses 480 gallons a year.

So, the average clunker transaction will reduce US gasoline consumption by
320 gallons per year.

They claim it has taken 700,000 "clunker" vehicles off the road – so that's 224 million gallons per year.

That equates to a bit over 5 million barrels of oil…

5 million barrels of oil is about one-quarter of one day's US consumption.

And 5 million barrels of oil costs about $350 million dollars at $75 per

So, we all just spent $3 save $350 million.

Not to mention that we just took a low-cost (or no-cost) car out of the hands of someone most likely with limited funds to begin with,

And strapped a nice 4,5, or 6 year car loan onto their backs....

Hmmmmmmmmm. How good a deal was that?

But, I'm thinking that they’ll probably do a great job with health care,

Obamanomics gets better than this.

In the cash for clunker program ... roughly 50% (actually 47%) was used for
purchase of
Japanese cars.

Japanese cars, on average, contain about 20% U.S. cost of manufacture.

Most of the other 80% is from Japanese sources.

Thus 80% of the clunker cash supplied by U.S. taxpayers went to Japan.

How stimulating is that ??

It sure stimulates me.

Swine Flu Info - Stop it in its tracks

"This study shows you're not contagious for a day or two" with H1N1 swine flu. "You're probably contagious for about a week," said Gaston De Serres, a scientist at the Institute of Public Health in Quebec, Canada, who presented one of the studies Monday at an American Society for Microbiology conference in San Francisco.

Levels of virus present in nasal mucus can give experts an indication of whether the flu can still be spread by coughing and sneezing. In the Canadian study, between 19 percent to 75 percent of people with H1N1 flu still showed signs of virus in their noses eight days after the first onset of symptoms. Two others studies -- one from Singapore, the other from Mexico -- produced similar results.

The meeting is the first major gathering of infectious-disease experts since swine flu first emerged last spring in Mexico and the United States, before circulating around much of the globe. The World Health Organization is currently reporting nearly 280,000 cases of infection, with at least 3,205 deaths worldwide.

In the United States, H1N1 swine flu now accounts for an estimated 98 percent of the flu virus in circulation, with more than 1 million cases of infection and an estimated 600 deaths. By way of comparison, regular seasonal flu hospitalizes more than 200,000 American each year and causes an estimated 36,000 deaths, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The CDC has been recommending that people infected with swine flu stay home and avoid contact with others for at least one day after they've been free of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications.

Nancy Cox, director of the CDC's Influenza Division, told the AP that keeping people out of work or school for extended periods of time may not be worth it, since the H1N1 virus continues to cause mostly mild illness, primarily in children and young adults. More here:

Well, this tells me four things:

1 - The media/government HATES it if you call it the Swine Flu -- so I'm going to call it the Swine Flu.

2 - It's a mild version of the regular flu that is constantly present on Earth.

3 - The ones most at risk are younger people because most older people have already been exposed to this virus at some point in their lives and that makes them immune.

4 - If someone you know has it, wait eight days after their symptoms APPEAR before kissing them ... or touching them ... or being in the vicinity. On second thought ... just tell them you're busy for the week ... they won't mind.

Media just can't figure it out

(Bold is mine.)

The public’s assessment of the accuracy of news stories is now at its lowest level in more than two decades of Pew Research surveys, and Americans’ views of media bias and independence now match previous lows.

Just 29% of Americans say that news organizations generally get the facts straight, while 63% say that news stories are often inaccurate. In the initial survey in this series about the news media’s performance in 1985, 55% said news stories were accurate while 34% said they were inaccurate. That percentage had fallen sharply by the late 1990s and has remained low over the last decade.

Similarly, only about a quarter (26%) now say that news organizations are careful that their reporting is not politically biased, compared with 60% who say news organizations are politically biased. And the percentages saying that news organizations are independent of powerful people and organizations (20%) or are willing to admit their mistakes (21%) now also match all-time lows. More here:

Well ... NO SHIT. Look at the graph ... how slowly the American people learn.

Hey, media jackasses ... I'm guessing this mirrors your profits graph. Will the media learn? The Klown says NAY. Liberals are INCAPABLE of learning. They'll go broke before they learn. I love it. Fox News is the only one that is CLOSE to fair when reporting political/environmental events and they STILL lean a little left if you ask me.

Another thing ... look how the graph starts out low and then goes to the toilet. Ha ha. Unreal. Of course, they're all geniuses and the rest of us are idiots.

Obama gets one right !!

ABC's Terry Moran set the Twitter-sphere all aflutter when he wrote:

We've reached out to Moran and will update this post when we learn more.

Now, an ABC spokesperson explains to POLITICO what happened:

"In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview. This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again."

The White House had no immediate comment. From Politico

The Police Do Care!

Guys it is just sad that this would happen to jack in the prime of his life!

Lexington Police Department reports finding a man's body in the Kentucky River just west of the Clays Ferry Bridge ... The dead man's name will not be released until his family has been notified. The victim apparently drowned due to excessive beer consumption. He was wearing black fish net stockings, a red garter belt, a strap-on dildo, and an Obama tee shirt. He also had a cucumber stuffed up his ass. The police removed the Obama tee shirt to spare his family any unnecessary embarrassment.

China says "Erm .. s'cuse me"

The US Federal Reserve's policy of printing money to buy Treasury debt threatens to set off a serious decline of the dollar and compel China to redesign its foreign reserve policy, according to a top member of the Communist hierarchy.

Cheng Siwei, former vice-chairman of the Standing Committee said Beijing was dismayed by the Fed's recourse to "credit easing"

"If they keep printing money to buy bonds it will lead to inflation, and after a year or two the dollar will fall hard. Most of our foreign reserves are in US bonds and this is very difficult to change, so we will diversify incremental reserves into euros, yen, and other currencies," he said.

Ohhhhh - NOOooooo!! Sounds like this guy took Economics 101. He's onto your dumbass, Barack.

Mr Cheng said the root cause of global imbalances is spending patterns in US (and UK) and China.

"The US spends tomorrow's money today," he said. "We Chinese spend today's money tomorrow. That's why we have this financial crisis."

Yet the consequences are not symmetric.

"He who goes borrowing, goes sorrowing," said Mr Cheng.

It was a quote from US founding father Benjamin Franklin. More here:

Hey, Obama ... keep printing money ... everything will be fine ... unless you think the US is due for a fall like Argentina.

Barack Obama is committing the same mistakes made by policymakers during the Great Depression, according to a new study endorsed by Nobel laureate James Buchanan.

His policies even have the potential to consign the US to a similar fate as Argentina, which suffered a painful and humiliating slide from first to Third World status last century, the paper says.

There are "troubling similarities" between the US President's actions since taking office and those which in the 1930s sent the US and much of the world spiralling into the worst economic collapse in recorded history, says the new pamphlet, published by the Institute of Economic Affairs. Libs hated it -- HATED IT !!!

As Barack Obama prepares a nationwide broadcast to America's students next Tuesday, it has been revealed that Democrats complained in 1991 when then President George H. W. Bush broadcast a speech from a Northwest Washington junior high school.

In fact, the House Majority leader at the time, Dick Gephardt (D-Mo.), said "The Department of Education should not be producing paid political advertising for the president, it should be helping us to produce smarter students." From NewsBusters:

Yes, Democrats HATE this kind of thing ... you know ... unless Obama does it. That's what I love about the libs ... they're always so honest ... forthright .... consistent in their positions. They're always thinking of the good of America ... they put politics last.

A couple of good ones

Adios comrade, one down, more to go

This contemptible fuckstick communist is OUT of the Obama administration. Don't let the door hit you on the way out, comrade.

(AP) - President Barack Obama's adviser Van Jones has resigned amid controversy over past inflammatory statements, the White House said early Sunday.

"On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me," Jones said in his resignation statement. "They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide." Yes, "They" -- the big, bad "they" are conspiring against him ... such a shame. Of course, YOU'D never mount a vicious smear campaign against anyone, right? Noooo, never.

The matter surfaced after news reports of a derogatory comment Jones made in the past about Republicans, and separately, of Jones' name appearing on a petition connected to the events surrounding the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks. That 2004 petition had asked for congressional hearings and other investigations into whether high-level government officials had allowed the attacks to occur.

Jones flatly said in an earlier statement that he did not agree with the petition's stand on the 9/11 attacks and that "it certainly does not reflect my views, now or ever." Of COURSE ... just because you signed the petition doesn't mean you agree with it, right? I mean, c'mon ... everyone knows an idiot liberal will sign a petition if someone drops a fucking hat ... you can't be held responsible for every petition you sign.

Fox News Channel host Glenn Beck repeatedly denounced Jones after a group the adviser (VAN JONES) co-founded,, led an advertising boycott against Beck's show to protest his claim that Obama is a racist. Wait ... what's this? ... a vicious SMEAR CAMPAIGN?

James Rucker, the organization's executive director, has said Jones had nothing to do with now and didn't even know about the campaign before it started. Of course not. He didn't knowwww. Don't be ridiculous.

Jones, well-known in the environmental movement, was a civil-rights activist in California before shifting his attention to environmental and energy issues. More here:

Is it my imagination or is every commie with a red flag an "activist" or a "community organizer?" How many more communists are in the Obama administration? Plenty.

More commies in Obama administration

The following was aired on the July 10 edition of Fox and Friends:

BRIAN KILMEADE, co-host, “Fox and Friends”: Phil, we have a czar, he’s a green jobs czar, he’s Van Jones, he’s got a deep history in communism.

PHIL KERPEN, AFP Policy Director: He does. He has a very checkered past. This is somebody who was involved in radical politics out in San Francisco, California. He was arrested during a demonstration/riot following the Rodney King verdict. And he said himself that he was radicalized in jail, that he found communism and anarchism. And then he started a pretty radical, kind of communist, socialist, utopian group that was supposed to end all racism though central planning. And then he decided that the real path the sort of progressive nirvana, was the this green jobs idea. I think its pretty instructive what his past is, I am not just trying to smear the guy, but I think it’s the same sort of philosophy, the idea that government ought to be reordering society in accordance with some utopian vision that failed with communism and socialism, and will fail with this green jobs idea. We are imposing a top-down vision.

GRETCHEN CARLSON, co-host: And more importantly for America Phil, is the fact that we already have an Energy Secretary, who by the way had to go through Congress to be approved. And the reason that these czars, you don’t know anything about them, is because they don’t have to go through that process.

Bold in following paragraph is mine:
In an April 12, 2009 World Net Daily article titled “Will a “red” help blacks go green?”Aaron Klein reports that Jones himself stated in a 2005 interview his environmental activism was a means to fight for racial and class “justice,” and that he was a “rowdy black nationalist,” and a “communist.” More at Newsbusters:

Mmm - Hmmm -- And what do communists like this jackass think of "Republicans?"
