Mark Levin on citizenship for illegals and the 14th amendment

I think this is the clearest explanation you will EVER hear on the subject of citizenship as it relates to the 14th amendment.  Mark goes all the way back to the original authors of the 14th amendment as well as the Civil Rights Act of 1866 to explain what they meant.  He uses their own words and writings to show EXACTLY what they meant when they were writing it.

Here's an outline of what I thought were some of the more important points:

1 - The 14th amendments says "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States ..."

If they meant "all persons" then why did they include the words "subject to the jurisdiction thereof?"

Also, the word "jurisdiction" here does NOT mean the jurisdiction of the law (i.e. legal jurisdiction) it means "political" jurisdiction (as in allegiance.) This is made clear by the framers of the amendment.

2 - If a LEGAL tourist has a baby here, is that baby automatically a citizen? Answer - NO! If a LEGAL diplomat (or spouse) has a baby here, is that baby automatically a citizen? Answer - NO!

3 - Jacob Howard ... the AUTHOR of the citizenship clause of the 14th amendment said "This will NOT ... OF COURSE ... include persons born in the US who are:

a) Foreigners

b) Aliens

c) Who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers accredited to the government of the US ..."

4 - It defies logic (except to liberals) that an ILLEGAL act committed by the parents can automatically confer American citizenship on their children. That is just stupidity.

Anyway, this punishment he's going to meet meat mete out is really going to be something because people have met some severe punishment in the world.  I can think of some right off the top of my head:

1 - Being cut up with a chainsaw

2 - Tossed into a live volcano

3 - Being drawn and quartered

4 - Having your bones ground to make bread for a giant

I could go on and on - what could he have in mind?  I'm scared, aren't you? How would you feel right now if you lived in South Korea?  How would you feel if you lived in North Korea?  Why do the Chinese let this guy run off at the mouth?  He's keeps putting that whole area of the world in a tizzy.

Obama -- "I'm The President, BITCHES!!"

Ok, so about a year ago I noticed that Obama likes to remind himself that "he's the President."  I noticed him saying it all the time and it cracked me up ... as if he couldn't believe it himself so he had to keep saying it ... or, that he's so impressed with himself that he thinks he needs to keep reminding peeps so they can be impressed too.  Like a little kid who keeps telling everyone about his new bike.

Anyway, I started saving clips like souvenirs and finally made this montage ... please enjoy..  These are by no means the only ones, he does this all the time -- these are just the ones I could find without trying TOO hard.

I love the last clip here ... "Even though I'm the President of the United States, my power's not limitless." That's right jackass, and we're coming for you as soon as your term is up.

There is another thing he does (which all libs seem to do these days).  He "lectures" people.  The specific offending vernacular includes "It's not about _______, it's about _______."  I absolutely cannot STAND that phrase anymore.  Every pompous peckerwood with too much earwax uses it.  It makes me want to hit  the speaker in the teeth with a ball-peen hammer.

Perhaps the next Obama montage I do will show him using that phrase.  I swear he says it every time he speaks.  Pay attention, you'll hear ALL the libs doing it now ... as if they are college "professors" imparting their high & mighty knowledge to you plebes.

Obama, Mr "I'm the President" blames Bush

When we talk about this 'going back' thing, I notice that some Republicans say, 'Well, he just wants to bash the previous administration, he's looking backwards.' ... No, no, no. The reason we're focused on it is because the other side isn't offering anything new," Obama said in Austin.

Look, dumbass ... why should anyone offer anything "new?" There is no need for something "new." There is a HUGE need for something OLD, you jackass. That's right ... the "old" idea of smaller government and smaller taxes. Just because an idea is old it doesn't make it bad. Some of the best ideas ever are ancient. "Democratics" never let facts and logic get in their way.

The good news?  If the Earth is ever attacked by a facts and logic monster from outer space we have no need to worry.  The Democratics would be invulnerable to it.

spider mites

Above pics are Spider Mites and their webs. A friend found them while performing lawn services for one of his customers. He called me and I arrived with camera in hand and was amazed at the size of the webs. Where ever the webs were they appeared to be killing the vegetation. These were a type of water plant that were abundant along the edge of the property bordered by a small lake. The friend gathered some of the web in the pine cone pic which made it easy to see the inhabitants. If you blow up the pine cone pic you can see how small they are and numerous. My friend identified these small spiders (still not sure if these are just newly hatched ones or not) after researching them later in the day.
If found in your garden or yard area, you should take action since they can be very distructive to these areas including your trees. One common way to control them is the the following (copied from a web site)
Various insects and predatory mites feed on spider mites and provide a high level of natural control. One group of small, dark-colored lady beetles known as the "spider mite destroyers" (Stethorus species) are specialized predators of spider mites. Minute pirate bugs, big-eyed bugs (Geocoris species) and predatory thrips can be important natural enemies.
One reason that spider mites become problems in yards and gardens is the use of insecticides that destroy their natural enemies. For example, carbaryl (Sevin) devastates most spider mite natural enemies and can greatly contribute to spider mite outbreaks. Malathion can aggravate some spider mite problems, despite being advertised frequently as effective for mite control. Soil applications of the systemic insecticide imidacloprid (Merit, Marathon) have also contributed to some spider mite outbreaks.

Help, Help -- I can't tell when I'm being hoaxed

So, you know, even though I cannot stand socialists and wanted to believe the worst about Obama, I somehow had trouble believing that both of them graduated ivy league schools and still didn't know where to put their hand during the Pledge of Allegiance.  I don't know ... call me suspicious.  Anyway, I decided to check for a hoax and it took Google about one-half second to find the info.

I have to ask -- why do people do this?   What is it?

The Truth:   The photo is a computer manipulation from a picture taken of President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama during a commemoration ceremony honoring the victims of the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001.  The photo was simply reversed to make it appear as though they were using their left hands. The original picture was taken on September 11, 2009 on the South Lawn at the White House in Washington DC.

 

With the above side by side comparison we can see how a prankster manipulated photo with computer software.  Important details were missed in the process.

1 The hair of  First Lady was parted on the other side in comparison to the original photo.

What's this "Tea Party" that's so hated by the media?

The "Second Revolution" flag, first passed out during Scott Brown's Senate victory, is often used by Tea Party advocates.

Hmmm "Second Revolution Flag" -- I like the sounds of that.

Here are the main things with which the Tea Party people are concerned.   I couldn't find racism in here anywhere.  Perhaps I'm overlooking it - see for yourself.

1. Identify constitutionality of every new law: Require each bill to identify the specific provision of the Constitution that gives Congress the power to do what the bill does. 
2. Reject emissions trading: Stop the "cap and trade" administrative approach used to control pollution by providing economic incentives for achieving reductions in the emissions of pollutants.
3. Demand a balanced federal budget: Begin the Constitutional amendment process to require a balanced budget with a two-thirds majority needed for any tax modification.
4. Simplify the tax system: Adopt a simple and fair single-rate tax system by scrapping the internal revenue code and replacing it with one that is no longer than 4,543 words – the length of the original Constitution.
5. Audit federal government agencies for constitutionality: Create a Blue Ribbon taskforce that engages in an audit of federal agencies and programs, assessing their Constitutionality, and identifying duplication, waste, ineffectiveness, and agencies and programs better left for the states or local authorities.
6. Limit annual growth in federal spending: Impose a statutory cap limiting the annual growth in total federal spending to the sum of the inflation rate plus the percentage of population growth.
7. Repeal the health care legislation passed on March 23, 2010: Defund, repeal and replace the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
8. Pass an 'All-of-the-Above' Energy Policy: Authorize the exploration of additional energy reserves to reduce American dependence on foreign energy sources and reduce regulatory barriers to all other forms of energy creation.
9. Reduce Earmarks: Place a moratorium on all earmarks until the budget is balanced, and then require a 2/3 majority to pass any earmark.
10. Reduce Taxes: Permanently repeal all recent tax increases, and extend permanently the George W. Bush temporary reductions in income tax, capital gains tax and estate taxes, currently scheduled to end in 2011.

These are not the ONLY things the Tea Party is interested in but it seems to me to be their main focus. (And I agree with all of them.) The only thing I'm not really on board with is the "ear mark" stuff.  I'm afraid I don't know enough about ear marks to comment -- but it sounds good -- I'm just not sure this couldn't have been replaced in the "top ten" items with something more important -- ah, but I'm not going to quibble.  If I were  Republican lawmaker I'd sign on in a heartbeat.

The Tea Party Patriots have asked both Democrats and Republicans to sign on to the Contract. No Democrats have signed on, and the contract has met resistance from some Republicans who have since created "Commitment to America."

I have a question.  Why "resist" this platform?  If you want to go further, fine but what's the holdup with signing on to this idea? As far as I'm concerned, if you don't want to sign on then you need to go.  The Tea Party needs to challenge these jackasses in a primary and take them out.

Candidates who have signed the Contract from America include Utah's Mike Lee, Nevada’s Sharron Angle, U.S. Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.). Other Republicans who have signed on include Newt Gingrich and Dick Armey.

It seems that every time I hear the name of Jim DeMint it's because he's doing yet another awesome thing.

Often you''ll hear "We need to start a third party."  Sure, if you're interested in losing 99% of your elections for the rest of your lifetime then, by all means, start a third party.  If, on the other hand, you're interested in winning, then we need to ensure we elect conservatives in Republican primaries and general elections -- i.e. "Take the Republican party back."  Please ensure you vote for the candidate who has the endorsement of the Tea Party.

Should Have Worn A "Klown" Suit

A Bethlehem [PA] Township woman was charged early Saturday with putting on a red nose and clown suit Friday morning and robbing the KNBT Bank three miles west of her house.
Carolyn A. Williams, 43, of 4321 Embur Terrace was arraigned at 1:30 a.m. on charges of robbery, theft and receiving stolen property in the Friday heist in which she allegedly took more than $7,000 after telling a bank teller she had a bomb.
Williams, a mother of two, was sent to Northampton County Prison under $500,000 bail, according to township police Investigator Stephen B. Malitzki Jr.
Within minutes of the 10:35 a.m. robbery of the bank on 3933 Freemansburg Ave. in Bethlehem Township, police said they arrested Williams as she sat with a clown suit and cash in a parked car at the township Municipal Park Complex.
Williams said she was coerced into the robbery, and police are looking into the story to see if it is credible, said Bethlehem Township Police Sgt. Gregory J. Gottschall. He would not say who Williams claimed had forced her to commit the heist. "She wasn't clear about that," Gottschall said.

I guess she never saw that coming because she immediately back-pedaled by saying, "I wasn't walking with him but there were crowds so it's very easy to assume that this could happen and that not everyone would see it." Right because everyone would have to have seen it meanwhile the truth is that no one saw it. NOBODY. Nobody saw it, nobody filmed it nobody caught it on an audio recording. With all those crowds, not a single person except the man making the convenient accusation saw, heard, or recorded anything. But please, continue.

JJBE: "It's not like there were film crews film cameras filming there all day." That excuse is ridiculous. You don't need an official film crew to have valid evidence of any event occurring.

Virtually every person attending any event like the one described has some type of device for recording video- even if it's just a cell phone with video capability. Furthermore, if they do have such a device, you can pretty much guarantee they leave it running the whole time they're within earshot of any action. Also, the instant they capture anything at all interesting, they'll fire it off to any news network that might show it. Of course, this never happened here but that's probably because in the throngs of spectators, nobody had theirs turned on and recording.

As a side note, they could do without Minnie Pearl behind the podium.

Someone is in trouble - not! It was just a mistake.

MEXICO CITY — Authorities in Mexico say a newborn baby girl declared dead by doctors revived inside her coffin during her wake.

Hidalgo state Attorney General Jose Rodriguez says the parents heard a strange noise coming from the tiny casket. Opening it up, they found her crying and very much alive.

Rodriguez told state public radio Thursday that the doctor who pronounced the girl dead at a hospital in the town of Tulancingo is being investigated for possible negligence.

The baby, who was born prematurely Monday, is in stable condition at a different hospital.

More government helpfulness

It's hardly unusual to hear small-business owners gripe about licensing requirements or complain that heavy-handed regulations are driving them into the red.

So when Multnomah County shut down an enterprise last week for operating without a license, you might just sigh and say, there they go again.

Except this entrepreneur was a 7-year-old named Julie Murphy. Her business was a lemonade stand at the Last Thursday monthly art fair in Northeast Portland. The government regulation she violated? Failing to get a $120 temporary restaurant license.

Turns out that kids' lemonade stands -- those constants of summertime -- are supposed to get a permit in Oregon, particularly at big events that happen to be patrolled regularly by county health inspectors.

"I understand the reason behind what they're doing and it's a neighborhood event, and they're trying to generate revenue," said Jon Kawaguchi, environmental health supervisor for the Multnomah County Health Department. "But we still need to put the public's health first."

According to this chart ,which is a few months old, I pay about 2.5 cents more per kW-hour where I live than my state's average.
Looking at the sticker on my 16 year-old, (and fully functional) water heater, it claimed a "National Average" in 1994 of 8.4 cents per kilowatt-hour. (Now I'm paying about $0.13 per kW-Hr).
God protect us from electric vehicles - but it will make some coal miners rich.

Ever wonder why they call the south "Dixie?"

The states in dark red are almost always included in modern day definitions of the Southern United States, while those in medium red are usually included. Those cross-shaded are sometimes included due to their historic connections to the South.

     1. The word "'Dixie'" refers to privately issued currency from banks in Louisiana.  These banks issued ten-dollar notes, labeled "Dix", French for "ten", on the reverse side. These notes are now highly sought-after for their numismatic value. The notes were known as "Dixies" by English-speaking southerners, and the area around New Orleans and the French-speaking parts of Louisiana came to be known as "Dixieland". Eventually, usage of the term broadened to refer to most of the Southern States.

Israel just lost valuable sympathy points with this maneuver. Who knows- maybe they were never looking for the sympathy vote. Maybe they're just as intolerant of non-Jews as non-Jews are of Jews. Frankly, I don't have a dog in this fight so my interest is limited but I will say if you want to be left alone to live your life as you choose, you should do the same for others.

Climate Change Art Contest: Submit Your Creative Vision To Help Fight Global Warming

Yes. That's a real headline. It's from Huffington Post believe it or not. Who would have ever thought that a fine and respectable publication such as they would ever stoop to promoting man-made global warming. Okay, sarcasm doesn't translate very well via text but hopefully you get my point.

Seriously though, the worst part is that the actual contest is hosted by deviantart. If you're not familiar with that site, it's actually a good source of seeing new, good artwork from little-known or unknown artists. The fact that they're hosting a "fight global warming" contest only shows that nobody is perfect.

Here's what I love about this though. By creating this contest (and promoting it), they're making people feel empowered. The truth about global warming (or climate change) is that it's caused by sunspots. Unfortunately, this is something beyond our control so it's being ignored by the vocal minority as a possibility.

There is no money to be made by protesting sun spots. There is no money to be made by taxing the sun. There are no corporations or successful businessmen to revile. In other words, "what's the fun in that?". The only way that Liberals know how to effect social change is to make someone pay. It's not about actually making a difference or actually solving a problem, it's about "give until it hurts". They generate billions of dollars that go to waste because they've discovered that people love to spend money to make themselves feel better about themselves.

The truth is that none of us live saintly or perfect lives. Some of us do something about it and actually change and improve our behavior when we find flaws within ourselves. These select few are known as "conservatives", "Republicans", "Independents", or "Tea Partiers" aka "not Liberals" or "not Democrats". The collective term for the people who think is "Cogs"- short for "il cognoscenti" or "those who know". Cogs are contrasted by non-Cogs- or those who don't know.

We all know non-Cogs in our everyday lives. They're typically unaware, unknowing, and painfully vocal about their opinions. It's because of their noisiness and their overwhelmingly strong herding instinct that they have any influence at all. Unfortunately for the rest of us, they're the reason that people believe that humans have any control over climate change at all. Power and control are the Holy Grail of Liberals. They have convinced themselves that through power and control they'll achieve immortality. The big joke is that power and control are just an illusion. They are bait placed by God for the sole purpose of entertainment.
