World's largest flower

Rafflesia arnoldii is found only in the rainforests of Benkulu, Sumatra Island, Indonesia and Malaysia. It’s the largest single flower on earth, and grows as a parasite on a particular species of vine, wrapping thread-like strands of tissue around its host in order to bleed it of water and nutrients.

I saw this in the midst of channel surfing the other day.  I only watched it for ten seconds or so but I figured I'd look it up later.

More pics and info here:

LOL @ Everybody has figured out how to scream "racism."

(Reuters) - Arab-American groups have sharply criticized a Coca-Cola Super Bowl ad depicting an Arab walking through the desert with a camel, and one group said it would ask the beverage giant to change it before CBS airs the game on Sunday before an expected audience of more than 100 million U.S. viewers.

"Why is it that Arabs are always shown as either oil-rich sheiks, terrorists, or belly dancers?" said Warren David, president of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, or ADC.

Coca-Cola released an online teaser of the commercial last week, showing the Arab walking through a desert. He soon sees cowboys, Las Vegas showgirls and a motley crew fashioned after the marauders of the apocalyptic "Mad Max" film race by him to reach a gigantic bottle of Coke.

In its ad, Coke asks viewers to vote online on which characters should win the race. The online site does not allow a vote for the Arab character.

"The Coke commercial for the Super Ball is racist, portraying Arabs as backward and foolish Camel Jockeys, and they have no chance to win in the world," Imam Ali Siddiqui, president of the Muslim Institute for Interfaith Studies, said in an email. More here:

See?  This guy is right.  The first thing I thought of was "Arabs are backwards camel-jockeys with no chance of winning."

You know what else occurred to me?  Arabs wear sandals all the time, right?  That means they have serious foot-odor problems.  And what's with wearing the sheets all the time?  Those guys are prepared for bed ... that's prolly why they call them "Bedouins."  Yes, yes, it's starting to make sense now.

Know what else they're always ready for?  Well, let's just say if a picnic breaks out, they won't be left sitting on bare ground.  I learned all this just from the news coverage of this commercial ... and they say racism serves no purpose.

Whole lotta bangin' goin' on

WASHINGTON, January 30 (RIA Novosti) - A controversial new sex app called “Bang With Friends” claims to facilitate sexual encounters with users and their Facebook friends without the embarrassment of rejection.

“Anonymously find friends who are down for the night,” the company website said. “Your friends will never know you're interested unless they are too!”

The Bang With Friends app, aimed at 20-somethings, was created by three college-aged men from California, who are withholding their identities, according to US media reports.

The app, launched a week ago, only alerts users of a potential hookup if both parties express interest by selecting what is called the “Down to Bang” button.

And naturally, there are "critics."  Critics are people who are much smarter than you.  They don't pay your bills or anything like that but they know what's best for you.

But critics of “Bang With Friends” told RIA Novosti, putting the physical first is the reason for the demise of the majority of marriages and relationships in the United States.

“Back in the day people would court, they would go out with different people without exploring the sexual relationship because it allowed you to get to know what you may or may not have in common,” said Kristen Crockett, a Washington based relationship coach. More here:

Yes, "back in the day, blah blah."  And they did this for a couple of very good reasons too.
1 - They didn't have a Facebook.
2 - There weren't so many libs back then so more people were sensitive to embarrassment.

Petition the White House, you say?

You may be aware of a site the president has set up for petitions. At first they said they would respond to any petition getting 25,000 signatures. After a couple of fiascoes, they upped the number to 100,000.

Anyway, Wombat alerted me to a new one.

Replace his secret service agents with "GUN FREE ZONE" signs. I like it. Here's the text.

Eliminate armed guards for the President, Vice-President, and their families, and establish Gun Free Zones around them Gun Free Zones are supposed to protect our children, and some politicians wish to strip us of our right to keep and bear arms.

Those same politicians and their families are currently under the protection of armed Secret Service agents. If Gun Free Zones are sufficient protection for our children, then Gun Free Zones should be good enough for politicians.

Click here to sign the petition.

Note: As I was doing the research for this post, I ran across "The Top Ten Most Ridiculous Whitehouse Petitions" (or somthing like that.)  And one of them got my attention.

Save money by consolidating the Department of Defense and the Census Bureau into a single Department of Kicking Ass and Taking Names.” More here:

Sir, PLEASE, realize where you are!

Found it over at Bits and Pieces:

Government is big business ... slush fund for handing out to their buddies

Image from an article about how some celebrity chefs are dealing with the "Health Department."

Yep, the old "Health Dept" is really looking out for you.

But they need more money, see.  So they're thinking of doing "inspections" more often.  You know, sort of like lowering the blood-alcohol limit.  It's great, isn't it?  Once you find a witch, there's no limit to what you can fine/tax her.  Nope, nobody will defend a witch, and the government knows it.

After all, these fines aren't costing US (the customers) any money, right?

Smartwater, it's not just for libs anymore

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – As a mist showers down onto a man from a spigot on the ceiling, some might think it’s a shower, but it’s not. It’s SmartWater.

You could call it a crime fighting spray. Under a special light, you’ll see why. It leaves a harmless chemical staining the skin and clothes, explains SmartWater Founder Philip Cleary.

The spray is similar to DNA – in that it’s unique to each customer ...

For home use, SmartWater can be sprayed on to your property. If someone takes it and tries to sell it; it will be marked with spray that links it back to you.

“I think you just put a dab somewhere inconspicuously, now my [property] is marked with the smart water, it’s got my code on it. If they show up at a pawn shop, now it’s traceable.” More here:

Well, that sounds promising.  But I can't help wondering if he may not have a trademark issue.

That's right, if it says you'll be smart for buying/consuming it, then hurry up and buy it.  Plus, all the beautiful people are buying it, right?  I mean, just look at this pic for proof.  What are you waiting for ... are you some kind of idiot?

Hey cops, stop loafing and start arresting those hookers

Just a random pic I found on the web.

A regional narcotics task force arrested a 71-year-old Westport woman on prostitution charges after police say she arranged to have sex for money in a Glastonbury hotel.

Sygun Liebhart, 71, of 80 Easton Road, Westport, placed an ad on the website Backpage.com promoting herself under the “escort” section as “Lola,” according to police.

Liebhart met with an individual at Homewood Suites, 65 Glastonbury Boulevard, and made a deal to perform sexual acts for money. Members of the East Central Narcotics Task Force then placed Liebhart under arrest. More here:

You see?  THIS is why I love paying taxes.  If there's one thing I can't abide, it's two people making a peaceful contract with one another without government approval ... NOSSIR.

In addition to that, I want to be sure we ALL conform to whichever religion is prevalent at the time the "laws" are made. Personally speaking, burkas can't get here fast enough for me.

Anyway, this is good because it keeps highly paid police officers busy when there's no crime ... you know, sort of the equivalent of street sweeping.

Let's try begging the criminals not to hurt us

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — San Francisco city officials preparing for the 49ers’ Super Bowl game against the Baltimore Ravens are hoping to avoid a repeat of the violence and vandalism that marred World Series celebrations last year.

A total of 36 people were arrested during post-game celebrations in October after the San Francisco Giants’ World Series victory against the Detroit Tigers, 23 of them for felonies. Celebrants lit a number of bonfires in the middle of Mission Street, broke windows and, in one notorious incident, set a Muni 8X-Bayshore Express bus on fire at Market and Kearny streets.

Soooo, these 36 people that were arrested ... was this their first brush with the law?  Or were they criminals on parole, probation, early release or other such liberal crap that lets jackasses out to roam the streets?

It appears the jourrrrrnalist didn't care enough about that to research it ... or mention it ... or even ask about it.  These kinds of questions don't occur to the brainwashed moron lib.

Mayor Ed Lee went as far as suggesting bars serve something other than hard alcohol during the game.

Good idea, don't serve beer during the Superbowl, that sounds profitable ... and he's from what planet again?  Oh, right, San Francisco.

But, hey ... let's not inconvenience jackass criminals by requiring they stay off our streets.  Instead, let's punish law-abiding taxpayers by telling them they shouldna have beer during the Superbowl.

THIS, is the rock-solid logic of the brainwashed moron ... intellectual better ... lib.

Police are working with other city departments and will have additional officers on hand to target potential problem areas and protect public safety, including the Mission District, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

Well now, it appears there's a rogue conservative loose in San Francisco ... this part actually makes sense.

“We want to show the nation that our fans are high class and that we won’t tear down the city,” Esparza said.

See?  This guy is pleading with the criminals ... "c'mon, let's SHOW 'EM how high class we are."  Mmmm-hmm, that sounds like reasoning that criminals really take to heart.

Anyway, LOL ... AAWL (as always with libs) they are VERY concerned about what other people think.  It's very crucial ... top-of-mind, for them.

What's this? The Communist Party agrees with Obama ... again?

It should come as no surprise that the Communist Party USA is on board with President Obama’s plan to attack Americans’ right to keep and bear arms as a means to “end gun violence.” A cardinal feature of communist regimes, like all dictatorships, is the prohibition of private ownership of arms, creating a monopoly of force in the hands of the State.

In a January 18 article, People’s World, an official publication of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA), declared that “the ability to live free from the fear or threat of gun violence is a fundamental democratic right — one that far supercedes any so-called personal gun rights allegedly contained in the Second Amendment.” More here:

Dianne Feinstein, she's better than you

Not everyone will have to abide by Senator Dianne Feinstein's gun control bill. If the proposed legislation becomes law, government officials and others will be exempt. More here:

Well of COURSE they're going to exempt themselves.  Just like they exempt themselves from most laws applying to the "masses" (as Marx called them.)  After all, these laws are for the sheep and do not apply to our intellectual betters.

I remember when first I learned of this kind of bullshit.  I was studying federal labor laws ... and how they require overtime if you work more than 40 hours in a week, etc etc ... and the professor filled us in ... congress exempted itself from those laws.

Oh yes, you see, because their work is special ... they have to be able to run those pages all around the building with abandon.  They can't be worrying about little things like "labor laws."  No, no ... those laws are for the masses ... not the genius leaders.

If I recall correctly, congress finally decided to follow these laws themselves but it was too late ... I was already jaded.  And as time passed I noticed how congress CONSTANTLY exempts itself (and handpicked intellectual betters) from many (if not most) laws.

It's funny how the media never seems to think that it's important to tell you about that.

In retrospect ... not such a good idea

SAN YSIDRO, Calif. (KDKA) – A Pennsylvania woman’s trip south of the border ended in a very unusual arrest.

Court documents say 22-year-old Samantha Kurdilla, and James Perry were walking in the pedestrian area of the San Ysidro Port of Entry on January 15, when a narcotics dog signaled an alert to its handler.

According to court documents filed in U.S. District Court, the dog alerted to Kurdilla’s “groin area.”

Prosecutors allege that Kurdilla had a condom with 100 grams of cocaine inside her vaginal cavity. More here:

After the arrest, Perry was heard to say "Of all the luck ... Who would ever have thought a dog would stick its nose into a woman's crotch?"

Poor guy, bothering nobody, helps a kid ... too bad he's a witch

D.C. police are investigating whether a man will face criminal charges for shooting a pit bull that was attacking a child in his neighborhood.

Yes, they're "investigating." Hey, they might have found themselves a witch.

The incident unfolded Sunday afternoon, after three pit bulls attacked an 11-year-old boy as he rode his bicycle through the Brightwood neighborhood of Northwest, according to a police report.

When the man, a neighbor, saw the boy being mauled by the dogs, he went inside his home and got a gun. The man killed one of the dogs. The gunfire attracted the attention of a police officer in the area near Eighth and Sheridan streets, where the attack occurred. The officer responded and shot the other two pit bulls as they continued to attack the boy.

The police report, which did not identify any of the people involved, said the boy suffered severe lacerations. The Washington Post, which first reported the details of the shooting, quoted the boy’s uncle as saying the boy was also shot in the foot.

Metropolitan Police Department spokeswoman Gwendolyn Crump said Wednesday that the entire case, including whether the man legally owned the gun he used to kill the dog, is under investigation. While public opinion might be supportive of the man’s actions, he could still face significant charges depending on the outcome of the investigation, criminal defense attorney Daniel Gross said.

Gee, I wonder what the "outcome" will be.  Oh yes, we're all in suspense.

“In this case, it would likely be the U.S. attorney’s office, and their discretion is sometimes less than local prosecutors,” Mr. Gross said.

OH, the US attorney ... the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ... whew, at least we know they're there to protect our liberty, right?  That's one of the legitimate functions of government, right?  Nothing to fear.

Notice Jefferson doesn't reference "hunting" in his reasoning for the 2nd amendment, aka, one of your unalienable rights.

A little trip to North Korea exposes iron grip of government

"Our trip was a mixture of highly-staged encounters, tightly-orchestrated viewings and what seemed like genuine human moments," she wrote. Here's a link to her very interesting blog post:  It looks better in IE but it's tolerable in Firefox.

"We had zero interactions with non-state-approved North Koreans and were never far from our two minders."

While much of the blog posting is taken up with the sort of observational musings common to any first-time visitor to Pyongyang, it had some interesting insights into the official side of the delegation's trip.

In particular, it fleshed out the main photo-opportunity of the entire trip when they visited an e-library at Kim Il-Sung University, and chatted with some of the 90 students working on computer consoles.

"One problem: No one was actually doing anything," Schmidt wrote.

"A few scrolled or clicked, but the rest just stared. More disturbing: when our group walked in... not one of them looked up from their desks. Not a head turn, no eye contact, no reaction to stimuli.

"They might as well have been figurines," she added.

Sophie Schmidt's description of the "unsettling" e-library visit suggests the delegation was all too aware that it was being shown a facade.

"Did our handlers honestly think we bought it? Did they even care? Photo op and tour completed, maybe they dismantled the whole set and went home," she wrote. More here:

Yes, the "iron grip" of the tyrannical North Korean government ... she recognizes it right away.  And yet, she's blind to it in our own government.

I mean, what is so tyrannical about the North Korean government?  Do the people feel repressed?  Or are most of them very proud to live there?  My guess would be they have a national pride just like every other country.

Why can she recognize a government presentation as "fake" when she's in North Korea but accepts our government's "presentations" as truthful and forthright?

I guess the "difference" we have to keep in mind is that our politicians are busy stripping our freedoms for our own good ... "the greater good."

The North Koreans claim to do the same ... except they're lying ... sinister and evil, right?  And, their country is poor and the US is rich by comparison ... for now.

Hey, Sophie, does the American government think we're "buying it?" Do they even care?

Hey, don't QUESTION the liberals ... relax, the media will tell you what to think

Fans are up in arms about Beyoncegate, but the singer “didn’t think there was anything wrong” with lip-synching the national anthem at the presidential inauguration Monday, US Weekly reports.

“She did sing,” the source insists. “She just used a track." More here:

Yes, you got that logic, didn't you, sheep?  Good, now go back to chewing your cud ... don't EVER question the liberals ... ever.

But don't worry, if you somehow forget that advice and begin to question a liberal, the media will be there, telling you what and how to think.  And no wonder it's so easy to convince you ... with logic such as "she DID sing, she just used a track."

That aside, what do you think of a superstar who decides to lip synch instead of taking a chance the performance might not be "perfect?"

Think about that whole mindset. It's their ego.

Of course, they present it as if they respect YOU ... "I didn't want to make a mistake and ruin it for YOU.  Because, you idiots don't think I'm human.  You simply wouldn't understand if I actually made a mistake singing in freezing weather ... you simply aren't smart enough or worldly enough to understand ... so I spared you by lip synching."

Yes, what a pantload.  But should you really be surprised?  The media tells you who you will like (who is cool) and from whom you will buy music so don't worry about this little lie ... idiot.

The only thing I'm left wondering about is when they're going to make these divas start jumping around like jumping beans while they're singing.  What?  Don't question it, it's the most natural thing in the world.  Just look.

I think one of the rules is you can't jump in time to the music either ... it has to be out of time to be super cool.  It's funny you know ... because, before the media told us they were cool, we USED to call them "flailing retards."

Now I know who Congressman Dana Rohrabacher is, AND, that he's not a woman

Congressman To Clinton: "The Only Person That's In Jail Right Now Is The Filmmaker"

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher Wednesday alluded to the fact that no one involved in the Benghazi terrorist attack has been arrested while the the man who made the anti-Islam film “Innocence of Muslims,” was arrested by California police for a parole violation

The administration originally said the video was the cause of the attack.

What?  They said some idiot's film was the cause of the attack in Benghazi?  And they said it over and over and over (for weeks) when being repeatedly questioned?

I didn't know that, did you?  Ah well, as Secretary Clinton said, "what difference does it make,"  right?  Let's all just forget about that and go back to chewing cuds, shall we?  Yes ... nice and comfy.

Inauguration Day - so enchanting, wasn't it?

On Inauguration Day Monday, CNN led the way on cable news in both total and demo viewers, in primetime, total day and during the part people really tune in to see: the President’s speech.

That said, the “big three” cable news channels were down substantially in the ratings from the 2009 inauguration. Whereas approximately 17 million people watched Obama’s address on CNN, MSNBC and Fox News in 2009, only around 7 million watched on those three channels in 2013. More here:

Hey, I wonder if George Washington had his wife standing next to him when he took the oath of office.  I just don't get why these jokers think it's necessary to have your wife there?  I mean, what's the call?  Are you trying to prove something?  If so, let me know what it is ... otherwise I'm going to think you're trying to shove some propaganda down my throat.

Ok, meanwhile, did the inauguration take two or three days?  I forget.  Maybe it just SEEMED like a week because, no matter where I turned, there it was ... with the TV jourrrrrnalists fawning like schoolgirls all over this guy ... and, purely coincidentally, "proving" how they aren't racists at all.

So funny, isn't it?  These jourrrrrnalists don't even realize how stupid they appear.

Yes, I could post another thousand examples of this news coverage fawning crapola.

Tsk, the libs are going to lose one

NEW YORK (AP) -- Opponents of the city's limit on the size of sugary drinks are raising questions of racial fairness alongside other complaints as the novel restriction faces a court test.

The NAACP's New York state branch and the Hispanic Federation have joined beverage makers and sellers in trying to stop the rule from taking effect March 12. More here:

Q: What is the thing a jourrrrnalist liberal fears MOST of all?
A: Being called a racist

Yes, jourrrnalists are Democratics idiot-libs ... and they ALWAYS support Democratics and denigrate Republicans.

However, as Wombat recently pointed out, one of the reasons the jourrrnalists libs seem so much more enamored with Obama is because it's their opportunity to prove, day after day, they aren't racists ... and that is CRITICAL to all idiot-libs jourrrrnalists.

Seriously, it's as if they're slapping you in the face with it on a daily basis.

Anyway, the Klown predicts the Democratics idiot-libs will fold on this one.

By the way, wouldn't it be great if the idiot-libs went ahead and started fighting each other on everything now?  Because they will eventually end up there ... they have no damn sense ... they don't have any principles whatever.  That means they will eventually find fault with everything ... and everyone, including themselves.

And finally, is it just me?  Or is everything boiling down to these three things:
1 - The libs lecturing us with "It's not about _____, it's about _____."
2 - "Conservatives/Republicans are uncool and evil."
3 - "We're not witches racists ... but we're on the lookout for them and we find them everywhere."

Jackie Chan mistakes well-meaning politicans for corrupt pieces of crap

Jackie Chan may have stirred up a maelstrom in the US, but in Asia, he's laughing all the way to the bank.

Last month, the 58-year-old action star claimed in an interview that the US is "the most corrupt" country in the world, and argued that Chinese citizens should keep criticisms of their country to themselves.

"If you talk about corruption, the entire world, the America, has no corruption? [It is] the most corrupt in the world," he said in a Dec. 13 broadcast on Hong Kong-based Phoenix TV. More here:

What's this? America corrupt?

Nah, just because our politicians are borrowing and taxing and squandering money by the trillions, it's no sign they're "corrupt?" I mean, C'mon, it's not as if they're buying votes and funneling money to their friends, right?

No, no, Mr Chan, perish the thought, they're squandering dollars by the trillions for OUR OWN GOOD.

That's also why they've been operating the government without a budget for the last four years ... so they can REALLY squander money. Do you see the difference? Good. You stand corrected. *brushes off hands*

Texas A & M invites great genius to speak

The Constitution's Second Amendment was created to bolster slavery and capture land from Native Americans, award winning actor Danny Glover told a group of students at a Texas A&M sponsored event on Thursday. More here:

Of course it was, genius.  Everything is about slavery and racism.  Why can't everyone learn this?  WE must CONSTANTLY be focused upon it ... just like our founders were when they wrote the second amendment in the constitution so they could bolster slavery.

Never mind they put a date certain in the constitution to end slavery ... that was just a trick... to fool the stupid negroes.  Boy did they fall for it too.

What does this tell you about Texas A & M?
