Brenda Earls of Gaffney, SC was going around her town placing American Flags in the lawns of business' and homes in honor of Christopher Fowlkes. He was the son of one of Brenda's neighbors, and had watched him grow up.
Christopher, a 20 year old Marine, had become the latest casualty of the War on Terror, when he died in a hospital after an explosion in the Helman Province. When she and the neighbors heard the news of his death in Afghanistan, Mrs. Earl went on a crusade to ensure that he was remembered.
One business that she placed flags in front of was the Bank of America, the very branch she did her banking. When returning home one day from going around town placing memorials, she noticed that the bank did not have any flags out front. So assuming she had just missed them, she began to place new ones in the ground. When suddenly the bank manager came out and was told she had to remove the flags. And when she inquired why, she was told the bank had a policy that stated they could not put up any flags, including the U.S. Flag.
Mrs. Earls couldn't believe what she was hearing, I mean the Bank of AMERICA would not allow a U.S. Flag on their property, even a little one placed to honor a local boy who had lost his life over seas. Mrs. Earls, upon learning that she had placed flags there earlier but was soon removed, quickly went inside to retrieve the flags before they were thrown out. She has since closed her account, along with others in the town.
The bank later came out with a statement that the manager had misunderstood the policy, and the bank does proudly display the flag at all it's branch's. Oddly Enough Mrs. Earls, thinking this was an odd policy, had gone to another Bank of America in town and noticed that there was a flag pole but no flag.
This poses an interesting question, What possible policy could he have misunderstood when it came to the American Flag? This is the same bank that got an estimated 25 billion dollars in bailout money, and yet they can't even display an American Flag. Perhaps they should change their name to the Bank of the Un-America.

You forgot about the lawyers and trouble-makers. If they let her put a flag on the property then they'll have to let every jackass with a piece of cloth put theirs there too ... capisce?
Also, you forget the fact that putting something on someone else's property that they did not specifically allow you to put there is called vandalism.
