Whew, lucky Obama fixed health care

The state has given Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield the go ahead to raise premiums by as much as 47 percent for some members, and says health care reform is the reason why.

Attorney General Richard Blumenthal sent a letter to Insurance Commissioner Thomas Sullivan on Oct. 6, asking what he called "excessive" increases were approved without full consideration of all the facts. His letter mentioned rate increases for both Anthem and Aetna.

"I find myself in an unprecedented place and time, as do my counterparts throughout the country, in overseeing one of the most far-reaching policy initiatives enacted by the federal government in recent history," Sullivan said in the letter. "It is unfortunate that this reform, while addressing insurer behavior, has provided little to no reform of the escalating costs of the health care delivery system."

More here:

Hey, you know what else Obama and the Democratics won't do?  They won't do tort reform as part of health care reform.  That is to say, they're going to keep letting lawyers harass the ever loving crap out of companies in attempts to shake some coin from their pockets.  Meanwhile, who pays for these lawsuits?  The doctors?  No.  The insurance companies?  No ... YOU ... YOU pay for them with your insurance premiums and your doctor bills.  That's right, sheep .... the joke's on you.

Yes, you know what I like?  I like it when 51% of the people force the other 49% to do something against their will.  Especially when the 51% are incompetent boobs Democratics.

Obama dismissing cases against illegal aliens

I DEMAND you give me what I want, American jackasses.

In the month after Homeland Security officials started a review of Houston's immigration court docket, immigration judges dismissed more than 200 cases, an increase of more than 700 percent from the prior month, new data shows.

News of the dismissals, first reported in the Houston Chronicle in late August, caused a national controversy amid allegations that the Obama administration was implementing a kind of "backdoor amnesty" — a charge officials strongly denied.

In recent weeks, some immigration attorneys reported the dismissals have slowed somewhat, while others reported they now have to ask ICE trial attorneys to exercise prosecutorial discretion in order to have their cases dismissed. Others, however, said they are still being approached by government attorneys seeking to file joint motions for case dismissal.

"They're still doing it," said immigration attorney Steve Villarreal. "They're just doing it quietly."

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials declined this week to discuss specifics of the docket reviews and dismissals, which are also going on in several other cities, including Dallas and Miami.

Ha ha, that's right, sheep.  Obama is in your government. letting the criminals go free.  You sheep said you didn't want amnesty so he's not giving them amnesty ... it's just that he's not prosecuting them ... he's letting them go free ... see how different that is from amnesty?  Yes, I'm sure you get it now, you idiot sheep.  Keep voting for, baaaaaa,  Democraaaaats.

The monkey story

Received in email today from a friend

Start with a cage containing five monkeys. Inside the cage hangs a banana
on a string and a set of stairs under it. Before long, a monkey will go to
the stairs and start to climb toward the banana.

As soon as he touches the stairs, all of the other monkeys are sprayed with
cold water. After a while, another monkey makes the attempt with same result;
all of the other monkeys are sprayed with cold water. Pretty soon,
when another monkey tries to climb the stairs, the other monkeys will
try to prevent it.

Now, put the cold water away. Remove one monkey from the cage and replace
it with a new one. The new monkey sees the banana and wants to climb
the stairs.

To his shock, all of the other monkeys beat the snot out of him. After another
attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries to climb the stairs he will be assaulted.

Next, remove another of the original five monkeys and replace it with a new one.

The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous newcomer
takes part in the punishment with enthusiasm.

Likewise, replace a third original monkey with a new one, then a fourth, and
then the fifth. Every time the newest monkey takes to the stairs, he is attacked.

Most of the monkeys that are beating him up have no idea why they were not permitted to climb the stairs OR even why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey.
Finally, after replacing all of the original monkeys, none of the remaining monkeys
has ever been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, no monkey ever again approaches the stairs to try for the banana.

Why not?

Because, as far as they know, that is the way it has always been done around here.

And that, my fellow Americans, is how Congress operates – and precisely why
we need to REPLACE all of the original monkeys this November.

Park 51 - O'Reilly style

I'm not a huge O'Reilly fan - I do think he is entertaining. This just shows the Libs strategeries - yell, repeat, or bail. Or, when completely out-gunned - make bunny ears.

My Giants, my poor, poor Giants

Bold is mine:

The San Francisco Giants are a Major League Baseball (MLB) team based in San Francisco, California, which currently plays in the National League West Division. One of the older baseball teams, the Giants have won the most games of any team in the history of American baseball. (I didn't know that.)

The Giants have not won a World Championship since 1954, and have never done so in San Francisco, for the third-longest championship drought among MLB teams behind those of the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians (who were defeated by the Giants in the 1954 Series).  This is brutal.  I recall growing up in the bay area and being a huge fan of the Giants ... but they never really won anything.  I stopped watching most pro sports long ago but I still watch the Giants or the 49r's if they make the playoffs.

The Giants have won only three pennants in San Francisco. (Since 1958)

TODAY: The Giants are the 2010 champions of the National League West and are currently in the playoffs for the first time in seven years. In the first round of playoffs they defeated the Atlanta Braves to reach the National League Championship Series where they face the Philadelphia Phillies.

As far as World Series go:

1962: Lost Game 7 to the New York Yankees.  It ended dramatically when a potential game-winning hit by Willie McCovey was caught.

1989: Lost to the Oakland A's - 4 games to 0 ... SWEPT!  How embarrassking.  (Loma Prieta Earthquake interrupted game 3.  This was when the Bay Bridge caved in a bit.)

2002: Giants led the Anaheim Angels 3 games to 2 and then lost 2 in a row - WOO HOO!

More here:

Many years ago, for reasons I will not go into here today, I started sending a rubber chicken to the Atlanta Braves when they made it into the World Series (didn't matter who they were playing.)  I told them in an enclosed letter to beat themselves about the heads & shoulders with it until they learned how to treat their fans.  I did this to put sort of a hex on them.  It worked the first year but not the next time ... so I stopped sending the chickens.  They never did write me back even though I enclosed my name and address etc.

This year I really wanted to send another chicken to the Braves because they were in the playoffs for the division title against the Giants.  I rethought the idea because ... last time I sent them a chicken, they won.  Anyway, I forgot about the chicken and, lo, the Giants beat the Jackass Braves.  Sweet.

OK -- NOW -- GO GIANTS!!!!

Tuesday Taste of the "Town"

PIZZELLI’S ITALIAN OVEN
LITTLE RIVER, SC

FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Nice and clean, smells like good Italian food, a medium sized dining area, and a spacious bar. We chose to dine in the bar. There were 4 or 5 folks already seated, and they turned out to be a very interesting group.

SERVICE
Very attentive bartender, friendly, and fun. No complaints whatsoever.

PIZZA
We ordered two large pies, (there were three of us today) a supreme with several toppings, and our “control pizza” – pepperoni and mushrooms. Both arrived pretty quickly, hot and looking good. The crust was thin and crispy – very tasty. Toppings were fresh and delicious (except for my pet peeve – refer to my rant in WTF? below), cheese was stringy and abundant, and tomato sauce tasty and not overly spiced. I really liked this pizza. A-

OVERALL EXPERIENCE
Very enjoyable lunch – I will definitely go back. From the staff to the atmosphere it was the best yet. Of course this is only our second foray into pizza.

WTF? EVENT
Mushrooms. Yes – mushrooms. Specifically – canned mushrooms. You are running a pizzeria for Christ’s sake – it’s not a Domino’s or some crappy slice joint in Asbury Park. USE FRESH MUSHROOMS, DAMMIT. At the very least, if you (for some unknown reason) feel compelled to use canned, at least sauté them before you throw them on the pie. You don’t use canned onions or canned peppers or canned tomato sauce or… well, you get my point. BUY FRESH MUSHROOMS.

God Bless America.

No Gooooo --- No GOOOOO!!!!

A contract worker examining a Raymore sewer drain was swept through the 24-inch pipe this morning — then found alive about 90 minutes later after traveling more than a mile through the system.

A city worker and firefighters heard the 27-year-old man scream for help, popped open a manhole and found him about 9:30 a.m., curled up in a fetal position at the bottom of a 12-foot-deep chamber.

Rescue workers called in an air ambulance to take the critically injured man to a hospital. They loaded him into the helicopter about 10 a.m., nearly two hours after he vanished into the sewer in the 600 block of West Foxwood Drive.

He was suffering from hypothermia, and he may have ingested sewage, said South Metropolitan Fire District Chief Randy Adams.

If you're in the area, check this out

CASHIERS, N.C. – A unique annual phenomenon is about to take place again on a North Carolina mountainside where the autumn light creates a shadow shaped like a bear.

The shadow of the bear shows up from mid-October through early November as the sun sets behind Whiteside Mountain in southern Jackson County. It's best seen on clear days around 5:30 p.m., with the show lasting for about a half-hour. Tourists and photographers hoping to see it often gather at the Rhodes Big View overlook along Highway 64, a little more than 4 miles from the town of Cashiers.

The Jackson County Visitors Center describes the phenomenon as a bear-like shadow coming "out of hibernation" at a time of year when the mountain is covered with colorful fall foliage. The image is created by a series of small, bumpy peaks on the mountain that block the sun's rays and cast shadows on the slopes and valley below as the sun sinks lower in the sky. The same phenomenon happens again in late winter for a few weeks beginning mid-February.

The area is about 75 miles southwest of Asheville, N.C., near the borders of South Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia.

For more details on visiting the area, go to http://www.MountainLovers.com or call 800-962-1911.

The season of the extra dumbasses

WASHINGTON (AP) - A top White House adviser says President Barack Obama and the leading House Republican would be good role models if both quit smoking, but he's leaving hazy whether the two would work together on such a campaign.

Asked about such an effort Sunday on CBS's "Face the Nation," White House aide David Axelrod said the administration wants to work constructively with Republicans on any issue. But he refused to commit Obama to joining with House Minority Leader John Boehner to give up cigarettes.

Instead, Axelrod suggested that Democrats are doing more than Republicans to rein in the tobacco industry. Rein in?  Rein in from what?  From being taxed out of existence?  From being sued out of existence?  From being regulated out of existence?  From eliminating all the jobs in the companies? From where exactly are the Democratics reigning them in?

Last month on CBS, moderator Bob Schieffer asked Boehner about quitting smoking with Obama. The Ohio Republican simply said that he appreciated the suggestion.

More here:

From my point of view this is an absolute no-brainer for Boehner.  He should quit and then challenge Obama to match him ... "for the good of the country" of course.  The problem is, Boehner doesn't have a brain.  He's a ruling-class Republican and, IMHO, he needs to be thrown out on his ass.

By the way ... in the ad above ... "the season of extra smoking." Didja like that one? ROFL!!

Congress - they don't even TRY to hide their thievery anymore

WASHINGTON—Chris Miller nearly doubled his $3,500 stock investment in a renewable-energy firm in 2008. It was a perfectly legal bet, but he's no ordinary investor.

Mr. Miller is the top energy-policy adviser to Nevada Democrat and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who helped pass legislation that wound up benefiting the firm.

Jim Manley, a spokesman for Mr. Reid's office, initially defended Mr. Miller's purchase of shares in the company, Energy Conversion Devices Inc. He said the aide had no influence over tax incentives for renewable-energy firms, and that other factors boosted the stock.

Mr. Miller isn't the only Congressional staffer making such stock bets. At least 72 aides on both sides of the aisle traded shares of companies that their bosses help oversee, according to a Wall Street Journal analysis of more than 3,000 disclosure forms covering trading activity by Capitol Hill staffers for 2008 and 2009.

More here:

Really? Wow -- that's some serious "luck" there, isn't it? Congress steals my money to "grant" to these red "green" companies so they can start up ... and then ... when the congressman writes legislation to benefit them, their stock goes up. Coincidentally, the congressional aides "just happened" to have invested in these companies. Don't worry though, folks ... it's all just a coincidence.  Everything's on the up and up ... nothing to see here, move along.

Because, why should they hide their thievery? It's not as if you're smart enough to get them out of office ... LMAO ... keep bleating, you idiot sheep.

Whew - the Fed is "Buying assets"

Following Friday’s disappointing jobs report, market participants are now virtually certain that the Federal Reserve will announce that it will resume buying assets at the conclusion of its November meeting and do so in a sizeable way, according to an exclusive CNBC Fed Survey.

More here:

Do you know what this means?  No?  I didn't think so.  I'm not sure either .... but what I THINK it means is the Fed is going to buy treasuries.    When the government wants to borrow money, it sells treasuries which guarantee a certain amount of interest.  If nobody wants to buy them, the Fed buys them ... i.e. you and me ... WE buy them.  So that means we're borrowing money to pay our own debt.

Pretend you were in debt over your head and your credit card bill came due and you couldn't pay it ... so you borrowed some money on another credit card to pay that bill ... that is what the Fed is doing.  Do you think this is a good idea?  If you do, you'll probably vote for Democratics. It's almost the same thing as printing money to pay bills. Do you think that printing money is free? If you do, you'll probably vote for Democratics.

If you ask me, this is EXACTLY why the government people took us off the gold standard ... so they could print money willy-nilly without having to get direct approval from the voters.

Go stock market, go!!!  Everything will be fine.  LMAO!

Well said.

Also, we got to see him force Phil to shut his piehole.
