The Democrats have a new logo and I have a new t-shirt.

They think that a new logo will change anything. It won't. Also, you'd think they'd have a better art department the way they fawn over "artists".

More on their logo here.

Dear Mr. President:
During my shift in the Emergency Room last night, I had the pleasure of evaluating a patient whose smile revealed an expensive shiny gold tooth, whose body was adorned with a wide assortment of elaborate and costly tattoos, who wore a very expensive brand of tennis shoes and who chatted on a new cellular telephone equipped with a popular R&B ringtone.

While glancing over her patient chart, I happened to notice that her payer status was listed as "Medicaid"! During my examination of her, the patient informed me that she smokes more than one pack of cigarettes every day, eats only at fast-food take-outs, and somehow still has money to buy pretzels and beer. And, you and our Congress expect me to pay for this woman's health care? I contend that our nation's "health care crisis" is not the result of a shortage of quality hospitals, doctors or nurses. Rather, it is the result of a "crisis of culture" a culture in which it is perfectly acceptable to spend money on luxuries and vices while refusing to take care of one's self or, heaven forbid, purchase health insurance. It is a culture based in the irresponsible credo that "I can do whatever I want to because someone else will always take care of me". Once you fix this "culture crisis" that rewards irresponsibility and dependency, you'll be amazed at how quickly our nation's health care difficulties will disappear.

Respectfully,
ROGER STARNER JONES, MD
If you agree...pass it on.

Meanwhile, Libs everywhere are screaming "RACIST!" even though he mentions race nowhere in the note.

The Meat Dress

OK - I'm not a Lady Gaga fan. But wearing a "dress" covered in raw meat at the VMA's, and then rebuffing PETA for getting pissed off about it - I think that's pretty cool. Maybe I'll be a fan.

Nope. Not gonna happen - I've seen better looking "female impersonators". And her music is, well, just awful.

But I really dig the meat dress.

Tuesday Taste of the "Town"

Several weeks ago, the Klown approached me with a "Quest": to seek out the best of certain types of restaurant/bar food in our area; specifically cheeseburgers and pizza. I readily agreed, it sounded like fun. Go out to lunch once a week and muse on our findings. Here is a quick synopsis on our first foray into cheeseburger heaven (and often more like purgatory). I'm sure the format will change a bit over time, as I may add some bells, whistles, and links. Apologies (or perhaps congratulations) to those of you who are outside our dining zone.

SHARKY’S RESTAURANT
OCEAN ISLE BEACH, NC

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
It has the feeling of a beach house, even though it’s not right on the beach. Big place with several different dining areas. We sat in the bar area at a tall table.

SERVICE:
Absolutely awful. We had two different male servers, neither knew what the other was doing. See “WTF?” below.

FOOD:
I had a fish taco – it really was pretty decent for fried “somekindafish”. Fries are too big for my liking.

CHEESEBURGER & FRIES:
EK said it was “OK” – it looked overcooked and small to me. EK likes those big steak fries. Of course, with all the ketchup and mustard he pours on, how could you tell?

OVERALL EXPERIENCE:
I won’t go back. Kind of expensive ($3 bottled beer, unless you can stomach PBR). I never felt welcome. C-

WTF? EVENT:
Our dining companion (yes – she was cute), went to the bar to ask for a glass of water (literally 10 feet from our table). Five minutes later, I went to the “bartender” to check on the water status – I was told “I turned that over to your server – he didn’t bring it yet?” It showed up several minutes later. Weak.

Obama bans American oil drilling in Gulf, backs $1 billion loan to help Mexico drill in Gulf.

There is not much more to say about this so I'll just provide a link to IHTM.

Despite President Obama’s moratorium on U.S. deepwater drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, the U.S. Export-Import Bank intends to guarantee $1 billion in loans to PEMEX, the Mexican state oil company, to bolster the company’s oil drilling in the region.

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf- If you move the ground zero mosque, we will blow your faces off.

That's the message being sent- if you insist that we not build the mosque near ground zero as a thinly veiled monument to our conquest of your American capitalism, we will blow shit up. No- of course we don't support terrorism and of course we don't condone it but if you don't let us dance all over your infidel graves, we will retaliate zealously.

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf insisted today that moving the Islamic community center and mosque from the site near ground zero under the current circumstances would threaten U.S. national security.

“We have two audiences,” the Imam told ABC News’ Christiane Amanpour late Thursday afternoon. “We have the American audience and we have the Muslim audience. And this issue has riveted the attention of the whole Muslim world. And whatever we do, and whatever we say and how we move and the discourse about it is being watched very, very closely. And if we make the wrong move, it will only expand and strengthen the voice of the radicals and the extremists,” he said.

“There are any number of wrong moves. But the basic theme of the wrong moves is if there is a perception or the perception is created, real or not, that Muslims are under attack,” Rauf said. “Let’s say we moved under this current circumstance with this dialogue. What will be the headline tomorrow in the Muslim world?” the Imam asked rhetorically. “‘Islam under attack in America.’ That’s the theme of it. ‘Mosque forcibly removed by whatever.’ That will feed the radicals. So diffusing terrorism is a necessity for our national security,” he said.
I know what you're thinking. This is exactly like the neighbor you know all too well. They're clean and innocent and law-abiding citizens. They don't mind anything you do it's just that the local gangs... well they might have something to say about it if you go ahead and keep it up. Not a threat... just a warning... just giving you a little friendly advice.

This classic tactic is one of the most reprehensible acts of cowardice and demonstrations of a complete lack of character.

Inez Sainz complainz about harassment painz.

From FoxSports:

Ines Sainz, a reporter for Mexico's TV Azteca doing a story on quarterback Mark Sanchez, had footballs thrown in her direction by a Jets coach during practice, and players later called out to her in the team's locker room.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Sunday that the league and the Jets began looking into the situation when they were made aware of it Saturday night.
Ms. Sainz claimed, "Some people said I was dressed inappropriately when covering the Jets but I was dressed exactly like this! Some jeans and a button down white shirt is not inappropriate!" I guess she's so used to talking to Libs that she no longer can detect completely ridiculous statements. She actually has convinced herself that she did nothing wrong. Thank the Lord for a lack of tort reform because now the Jets are evaluating the situation and ascertaining what it is that they did wrong and how they can prevent it from happening in the future.

Oh by the way, this is the outfit in question:

A cursory search on Google images demonstrates that this outfit is nothing new or unusual for this professional journalist.

I can't help but think that her choice of clothing isn't coincidental. I suspect that she realized early on that if she dressed a particular way that she might gain easier access to a particular venue or take priority over other professionals when pursuing an interview.

The fact that female professionals deserve the same level of respect as their male contemporaries is not in dispute. However, that respect goes both ways. To expect that you can enter the field at a sporting event- or even a practice- dressed in anything less than business professional is at best delusional.

It's my expectation that nothing is going to come of this but the fact that it's getting any press at all is ludicrous. Of course she has the right to dress any way she wishes and she has the right to be treated with respect but that doesn't mean that she's right for doing it. Sometimes, you actually have to think for yourself if you want to lead a drama-free life. Of course, a big stink is being made of this incident because Libs want to do everything within their power to destroy individual thought and individual responsibility.

We will stand up to radical islamists! (Unless they object).

Pastor Terry Jones announced on NBC's "Today" show Saturday that they've decided not to burn Korans:

"We will definitely not burn the Koran, no...Not today, not ever," Jones said. "Even though we have not burned one Koran, we have gotten over 100 death threats...We feel that God is telling us to stop, and we also hope that ... maybe that will open up the door to maybe be able to talk to the Imam [Feisal Abdul Rauf]."

Found at NewsBusters.
Uh... right. You want to protest Radical Islamists but when the inevitable death threats start rolling in from the religion of perpetual outrage peace, you back down. Great job. Reinforce their bad behavior and then wonder what went wrong. When are people going to realize that Radical Islamists have a knee-jerk reaction of making death threats whenever anyone hurts their feelings.

It's as if they're all graduates of the Francis Soyer Charm School:

Furthermore, they will attempt to the best of their ability to follow through on these ridiculous threats and will likely get the full support of other Radical Islamists and the passive support of Muslims everywhere.

Thankfully, we have people like this on our side. These Lib geniuses decided to create a facebook page to show hatred for America support for Radical Islam on 9/11.

Join us! If you are also horrified by the recent outrageous fear mongering of the right wing against American Muslims then here is a way to push back. I am not a Muslim but I plan to wear the hijab on 9/11 as a gesture to American Muslims that they are full citizens of this country and deserve the same rights as the rest of us. Concerned men might wear skull caps in solidarity with us women. From Moonbattery.

Just so you're not left out.

The Koran burning - Hullabaloo, Brouhaha, or Donnybrook?

Well, I've been hearing stories lately ... of some preacher who's planning to burn some Korans. Apparently this is going to radicalize some Muslims and make them hate us. Shucks, just when everyone loved us too. This preacher has really thrown a turd in the punch bowl, eh?

If only it weren't for this preacher and his Koran-burning ways everything would be fine with the Muslim world.

I also love how our president (and other bozo politicians) BEGS the guy not to burn the Korans. I love how General Petraeus acts like he's afraid for our troops ... as if, ALL OF A SUDDEN,  OUT OF THE BLUE, the people they're at war with are going to try to kill them.  I mean, if we had known that, we'd have brought weapons with us.  LMAO @ "Shitcan the free speech 'reverend', it might get some people killed."

Yes, everyone knows that the US President/government/military can and SHOULD be able to control the speech of the citizens, so, if it doesn't then it's ok for Muslims to take it out on the troops and/or other US citizens.

Let me ask this .... does the president ever condemn Muslims for burning the bible or burning the American flag? Do ANY politicians complain when Muslims are using RPG's to blow through the doors of a church and then burn all the bibles and break all the crosses?

There's a problem here folks and Koran-burning isn't it.  We need to do like the President says and just shut up.  Some people are trying to say that Muslims are threatening you. Don't worry, those Muslims aren't serious ... it's just a joke.

Just remember this.  If you EVER have anything to negative say about Muslims, you are "provoking" them and you deserve what you get. Don't claim you weren't warned.

Video - potential brown out

A commenter at J-Walk linked to this video. It was implied the shot was "over the sow's head" (on purpose.) I find that hard to believe ... unless the bear was really MUCH further away than the video implies (which I am inclined to believe.)

Otherwise it looks to me like he missed the bear and decided not to shoot again once he saw it was bolting. Anyway, hitting a charging (at you,) zig-zagging bear with a pistol? I mcdoubt it.

"Coincidence?"?

Rush Limbaugh, Pastor Terry Jones Were High School Classmate
Terry Jones, the Florida pastor threatening to burn a Koran tomorrow on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, was a high school classmate of Rush Limbaugh....
MSNBC's Keith Olbermann was one of the first to call attention to the Limbaugh/Jones nexus when he posted news of it on Twitter overnight: " 'Rev.' Terry Jones was classmate of none other than Rush Limbaugh (Cape Central class of '69). Coincidence?"
President Obama attended a church led by Rev. Jeremiah Wright for 20 years and that's "irrelevant" but a high school classmate of Rush Limbaugh is at all interesting? First of all, high school lasts 3 years (and 4 years in some places). Also, Mr. Limbaugh graduated high school over 40 years ago and there's no evidence at all that he even knew Terry Jones. "Great job", Olbermann. You really did your homework. For your next trick maybe you can find your ratings.

Black is the new black.

"I can't feel my face" is the new "I can't breathe".

And the funniest comment award goes to "This is why we can't have nice things."

The religion of peace speaks but does not threaten.

“If we move from that location, the story will be the radicals have taken over the discourse, the headlines in the Muslim world will be that Islam is under attack. Our national security now hinges on how we negotiate this, how we speak about it. The battlefront is between moderates of all sides… and the radicals on all sides,” he said.

Moving the project to another location would strengthen Islamist radicals’ ability to recruit followers and will likely increase violence against Americans, the imam said
The religion of perpetual outrage peace expresses kind and polite feelings that any attempts to stop an expression of freedom of religion- a concept that made this country great- would be viewed unfavorably in the community of the religion of peace. These are not violent people and only wish to cooperate with all citizens of the U.S. and to do what will make everyone happy to the best of their abilities.

They are a religion of peace and tolerance and therefore don't understand the resistance to their plans to build a mosque to honor the lives lost on 9/11. They're confused but willing to understand the arguments against this religious cultural center. Everybody knows that Muslims have spent centuries breaking new ground in the area of cultural tolerance and have developed a rock solid reputation for changing their ways to accommodate those with whom they disagree.

I personally think that we should use these people as a model of what a good American is and we should do everything in our power to convince our friends and families to do exactly as the wise and revered Imam advises. Let's face it- they are the only ones who truly know what's best for us.

Yours Truly,
Wombat the Lib.

Will the communing never cease?

Any idiot can see that the lion was giving the food a "what are you looking at?" look right before dining. Clearly the "trainer" should have received more training before getting into the diorama with Mr. Crankypants. What I also found humorous was the female lion trying to talk him out of his zealous pursuit of entertainment. She must have been his wife because every married man knows full well that wives hate it when they think we're having fun.

Climate change logically explained and dissected. Libs everywhere are outraged.

This is actually the sequel to a video that has over 7,000,000 views but explains the theory better. You might already have heard the arguments the speaker makes but he does so clearly and concisely and (horrors) logically. If you'd like to enhance your enjoyment of the video, take the time to read the comments on youtube. Libs everywhere are outraged at the audacity of using logic and sense to make an argument.
