Obama keeps telling us we're in an economic "recovery"

Putting pressure on an already lousy job market, the mass layoff is making a comeback. In the past week, Cisco, Lockheed Martin and Borders announced a combined 23,000 in job cuts. (See: Another Retailer Bites the Dust: Borders Doomed by Amazon Deal, Davidowitz Says) Those announcements follow 41,432 in planned cuts in June, up 11.6% from May and 5.3% vs. a year earlier, according to Challenger, Gray & Christmas.

Ha ha, and the sheep just keep believing Obama ... "Bbaaaaaa, bleat, we're recovering, give him a chance you racist!!!"  Yes, recovering.  I like how my electric company is recovering.  Hey, Obama/Democratics ... please keep blocking drilling and please keep hammering away at the coal companies ... put them out of work ... my electric bill has only gone up 40% since 2005, I have plenty of more money for you to squander by giving it to your windmill (green energy) buddies.

Meanwhile, state and local governments have cut 142,000 jobs this year, The WSJ reports, and Wall Street is braced for another round of cutbacks. This week, Goldman Sachs announced plans to let go 1000 fixed-income traders.

Now see, THIS is the true test of when the shit gets thick .... when the GOVERNMENT starts laying off people it's time to start stockpiling food.

If these trends continue, we may soon be talking about losses in the monthly employment data -- not just disappointing growth, says Howard Davidowitz, CEO of Davidowitz & Associates

Hey, Davidowitz ... what does it matter?  They'll just keep redefining the unemployment numbers to fit whatever number they want.  I'll bet if they figured "unemployment" now the same way they did during the great depression the number would be more like 18-20 percent - or higher.  It seems to me that everyone is either having a hard time or knows someone who is affected.  And who is responsible?  Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac -- the GOVERNMENT!!!  The great geniuses ... the Harvard/Yale/Ivy League boys.   They're jokes.

I love how people vote for these "geniuses" and then get their asses handed to them on a rail while waving goodbye to more and more liberty with every session of congress.

"Everything in business is confidence," Davidowitz says. "You lose confidence and businesses can't deal with that [and] who could have confidence with what's going on in Washington?" More here:

No sir, genius.  Confidence doesn't come BEFORE prosperity, confidence comes afterward ... and then makes it easier to keep the ball rolling, but that's it.

"Everything in (legitimate) business" is long-term profit.  Business has to be reasonably sure that the government isn't going to change its tax structure every time a member of congress has sex with an intern.  When business sees this they are reluctant to invest/hire because "who knows what those jackasses are going to do next?"  And they have a duty to their investors ... and if they don't grow their companies their stock will go down and they will bankrupt the company ... so they look to try to hold on until "things improve" or they move jobs and everything they can out of the reach of these idiots country.

Yes, and then congress quickly gets busy trying to punish them for moving jobs etc out of the country.  They point to the evil companies and holler witch.  Why, (harumph) they just can't understand why those evil companies won't stay here, sit still, and let the government put its boot on their throat and bankrupt them.  It's just so hard to understand, isn't it?

"Summer of Recovery" my ass.  And we're only a few short months away from winter.  Tell me, does the economy get better in the winter?  Ha ha, morons, keep voting for Democratics.  As we speak they're busy blocking "Cut, Cap, & Balance" in the Senate (because Democratics control the Senate.)

See this is the problem with letting government have too much power.  Eventually the geniuses bring everyone down with them.  It's not like things are voluntary ... like you could "follow the geniuses" if you wanted to and let other people go their own way ... no, the generous Democratics FORCE everyone to do as they command ... and they take you down ... and they're always blaming the evil rich ... have you noticed?  Meanwhile, are the "evil rich" forcing me to do anything?  Is there some rich guy who is blocking the drilling and harassing the coal industry? Is there some evil rich guy who is giving my money to someone else without my permission?  I wanna find the evil rich bastard who says I have to switch my light bulbs to those squiggly dog-pile-looking bulbs that cost triple and don't work.
