Boehner must go

With no debt deal done and both sides racing an Aug. 2 deadline, Democrats and Republicans on Sunday readied separate backup plans to try to raise the government’s borrowing limit and cut spending.

House Speaker John A. Boehner, Ohio Republican, pitched his colleagues on a plan to raise the borrowing limit by about $1 trillion and match that with similar sized spending cuts — enough to last through the rest of the year, and leaving for later the heavy lifting on taxes and bigger spending items. More here:

Uh, Boehner, what are you doing?  You already offered to raise the debt ceiling (yet again) in exchange for a promise of cutting the spending, capping the spending, and balancing the budget (the "Cut, Cap, and Balance" legislation.) You passed it through the House of Representatives and that's all you need to do ... that's it.  I can't believe you're still screwing around with them.

The Democratics in the Senate rejected it. Now let them face the consequences.  The American people sent a whole contingent of Tea Party candidates to congress to do exactly what they did.  They elected you as Speaker ... but they made a mistake.  Stop trying to "help" the Democratics. Instead, make your case to the American people ... not once, but over and over again.

Here's why I like "Cut, Cap & Balance:"

1 - IT CUTS SPENDING.
If you haven't heard, the government is wasting, flushing and otherwise squandering all the money given to it by the evil capitalist pigs ... and then borrowing/printing more.  Of course, this is all free right?  There will be no consequences for us ... baaaaaa - bleat.

2 - IT CAPS SPENDING.
This is actually the best part because it FINALLY answers the age-old question that Democratics would never answer ... "How much is enough?"  This bill caps the spending the federal government can do as a percentage of GDP (I think it's something like 18%.)  I mean, seriously, they tax everything that moves and are constantly thinking up new things to tax every day.  Do you think the founding fathers meant for the government to tax every damn thing?  And it they don't tax it they "fee" it ... or "insure" it.  They're peeling you like a grape and then whining they need more money.  Do you think they need more money or less (as a percentage of GDP?)

3 - IT PRESENTS A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT that requires a balanced budget.
This is also critical because it's responsible.  Responsible people get cheaper credit.  Responsible people are taken at their word. Responsible governments have stable currencies.  Responsible governments don't steal from their people through the inflation that is caused by printing fiat money.  Here's what Ron Paul has to say about it. (Pssss, the media will tell you he's crazy and Palin is stupid.)
