Obama, man of his word

White House officials tell ABC News that in his remarks tomorrow President Obama will indicate a willingness to work with Republicans on some issue to get a health care reform bill passed but will suggest that if it is necessary, Democrats will use the controversial "reconciliation" rules requiring only 51 Senate votes to pass the "fix" to the Senate bill, as opposed to the 60 votes to stop a filibuster and proceed to a vote on a bill. More at the abcnews blog:

Oh really?  That sounds like fair play to me ... you know, just like the Democrats always claim.  They're for "the little guy" ... they're on "your side."  Now, what was it Obama was saying not long ago?  Oh yeah ...

Oh yes, a trustworthy man of uncompromising principles. I like a man that keeps his word.  A man that says what he means and means what he says, don't you?  Now what are the chances the media will be all over this?  Will they be harping and harping on it, 24 hours a day for weeks?  Or will it simply slide off into the sunset to facilitate the amnesia and political stupor of the American sheep?
