Trouble lurking - the end is near

Jim DeMint & Lynn Jenkins

(Jim DeMint, R-SC) The conservative senator took to Twitter on Tuesday amid reports that the area is due to receive another 10 to 20 inches of snow this week:

It's going to keep snowing in DC until Al Gore cries "uncle"
Forget it, Jim. Al Gore is a lib and as such is incapable of learning.  If he could learn, he'd be a conservative.  Libs are also incapable of humiliation, which is why he'll go to his grave swearing that global warming is real and caused by humans.

The South Carolina senator was not the first Republican to use the snowstorm to make a political point. Rep. Lynn Jenkins (R-Kansas) said that absence of votes in the House is a plus for taxpayers.

You got that right, Lynn.  It would be different if every time they voted the gave us some of our liberty back.  As it is, the jackasses are voting our liberty away as fast as they can.

Yes.

Great Responses... No, Not Really.

The BBC’s Andrew Neil absolutely grills Chief Scientist at the UK’s Department for the Environment, Professor Robert Watson. And who is Watson? Well, Al Gore called him “Hero of the Planet.”
What kind of garbage is this? Does anyone believe these responses at all anymore?

"We've identified the problem and we're working on making sure it never happens again". Yet nobody is punished (aside from the sacrificial lamb/scapegoat) and nothing is done to ensure it never happens again. This is likely due to the second overused excuse.

"I wasn't employed in that capacity at the time so I didn't know and shouldn't have known that the problem existed." This is another lame excuse wherein the person on the hot seat not only absolves him/herself of any past responsibility but also any future person guilty of the same shortcomings. By the time the issue comes to light, there will be a new person in that position who'll claim the same thing.

Of course, the person who is actually in the position of responsibility and accountability at the time of the "incident" will be shuffled into a similar but different position mostly so they can claim that they're no longer responsibility for such matters.

Does all of this sound confusing? I think it's confusing by design. Just think of it as one big shell game where nobody wins except the shells.

An Ayn Rand Revival?

I personally know a few hipster poseurs who think Ayn Rand is "the greatest". They're not teenagers. They're not idealists. I imagine I'd be a fan of hers too... if I read. Nevertheless, I found Cathy Young's analysis of Ms. Rand's work to be interesting because I think that while she criticizes Ms. Rand for being overly capitalistic and stark and lacking in compassion and humanity, Ms. Young takes an ironically opposite stance.

Clearly, Ms. Young is writing to her audience and I'm sure they appreciate her left-wing argument. I've always contended that extremists on either side of the argument are not the truth but are a great conduit to the truth. Somewhere between the two extremes lies the truth. I think this article helps elucidate the truth quite well for any reader who understands Ms. Rand's work.

Ayn Rand, the controversial Russian-born American writer, would have turned 105 years old on February 2. This anniversary takes place amidst a Rand mini-revival, sparked by the Obama Administrations push to expand government and resulting fears of socialism on the march. There has been a spike in sales of Rand's books, particularly Atlas Shrugged, the 1957 novel depicting a quasi-totalitarian future America in which the best, the brightest and the most productive go on strike in protest.

Some bloggers have bandied about the idea of such a strike under Obama going Galt, after John Galt, the leader of the revolt in the novel. Rand has recently appeared on the cover of Reason, the libertarian monthly (where I am a contributing editor) and of GQ where she was the target of a profane, vitriolic rant.

Who is Ayn Rand, and what does her renewed popularity mean? A refugee from Soviet Russia who fled Communist dictatorship in the 1920s, Rand called herself a radical for capitalism rather than a conservative. Her vision, articulated in several novels and later in nonfiction essays as the philosophy of Objectivism, earned her a sometimes cult-like following in her lifetime and beyond it.

Such a crying shame

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - U.S. Rep. John Murtha, an influential critic of the Iraq War whose congressional career was shadowed by questions about his ethics, died Monday. He was 77.

Good riddance.  I thought we'd NEVER get rid of the braying jackass.

And What About the Pope?

Surface Irritation

And we all thought he was a lib...

The great global warming collapse

Remember all the gullible libs idiots who took pics like this as proof of global warming?  They were all fakes /hoaxes... read more if you don't believe me.  Once they were proven to be hoaxes, remember how the media jumped ALL OVER IT and exposed the shysters?  No?  I don't either.

Excerpts from this article at theglobeandmail: (Bold is mine)

And now, the science scandals just keep on coming. First there was the vast cache of e-mails leaked from the University of East Anglia, home of a crucial research unit responsible for collecting temperature data. Although not fatal to the science, they revealed a snakepit of scheming to keep contradictory research from being published, make imperfect data look better, and withhold information from unfriendly third parties. If science is supposed to be open and transparent, these guys acted as if they had a lot to hide.

Despite widespread efforts to play down the Climategate e-mails, they were very damaging. An investigation by the British newspaper The Guardian – among the most aggressive advocates for action on climate change – has found that a series of measurements from Chinese weather stations were seriously flawed, and that documents relating to them could not be produced.

Meantime, the IPCC – the body widely regarded, until now, as the ultimate authority on climate science – is looking worse and worse. After it was forced to retract its claim about melting glaciers, Mr. Pachauri dismissed the error as a one-off. But other IPCC claims have turned out to be just as groundless.

For example, it warned that large tracts of the Amazon rain forest might be wiped out by global warming because they are extremely susceptible to even modest decreases in rainfall. The sole source for that claim, reports The Sunday Times of London, was a magazine article written by a pair of climate activists, one of whom worked for the WWF. One scientist contacted by the Times, a specialist in tropical forest ecology, called the article “a mess.”

Worse still, the Times has discovered that Mr. Pachauri's own Energy and Resources Unit, based in New Delhi, has collected millions in grants to study the effects of glacial melting – all on the strength of that bogus glacier claim, which happens to have been endorsed by the same scientist who now runs the unit that got the money. Even so, the IPCC chief is hanging tough. He insists the attacks on him are being orchestrated by companies facing lower profits. More here:

Ok, now what would an honest politician do with these facts? Let's say I'm a politician that used to support the global warming agenda. I think right about now I'd be coming out saying "wait a minute ... some HUGE problems have appeared ... I'm going to reexamine my position on this ... it appears we may have wasted untold BILLIONS of dollars."

Instead, what do you think will happen. Let me tell you what will happen ... I saw it in the 70's. They'll all stand around with big-toe-in-the-sand for a while and nobody will say SHIT. The media will allow the whole thing to quietly vanish and in another 20 years or so, they'll try it again ... only THIS TIME ... the science will really REALLY be settled. No ... REALLY!! PLEASE LET US TAX THE EVER-LOVING-SHIT OUT OF YOU ... PLEEEEEEASE!!!

Hey, have you heard anything about the polar ice caps melting lately? Remember when they were all certain that soon the poles would be without ice?  THEY WERE WRONG!  Has anyone stepped up to the plate and admitted it?  Anyone taking responsibility?  *Looking around*  "Anyone?  Anyone?  No?  Shocker.  I think it would take a real shitstain not to admit they were wrong, don't you?

Important Message From The President Regarding Health care and You.

Global warming "scientist" almost does us all a favor

THE scientist at the centre of the “climategate” email scandal has revealed that he was so traumatised by the global backlash against him that he contemplated suicide. Ohhh, poor baby.  I really feel sorry for him, don't you?

Professor Phil Jones said in an exclusive interview with The Sunday Times that he had thought about killing himself “several times”. He acknowledged similarities to Dr David Kelly, the scientist who committed suicide after being exposed as the source for a BBC report that alleged the government had “sexed up” evidence to justify the invasion of Iraq.

In emails that were hacked into and seized upon by global-warming skeptics before the Copenhagen climate summit in December, Jones appeared to call upon his colleagues to destroy scientific data rather than release it to people intent on discrediting their work monitoring climate change.  What?  He "appeared" to have done so?  Uhh, no ... he DID so.  Way to go, "objective" jourrrrrnalist.

Jones, 57, said he was unprepared for the scandal: “I am just a scientist. I have no training in PR or dealing with crises.”   Really?  How about "training" in lying and cheating and stealing?  How about "training" in morals and decency and honesty?  Did you get any of that when you were growing up?  No?  How about school ... any of that kind of "training" there?  Nothing about knowing the difference between right and wrong?  No wonder you could attempt to pull off this hoax with no feelings of guilt. And you know what?  I'll bet he STILL doesn't feel guilty.  He only feels fear of people coming to kill him.

The incident has taken a severe toll on his health. He has lost more than a stone in weight and disclosed he is on beta-blockers and using sleeping pills. He said the support of his family, and especially the love of his five-year-old granddaughter, had helped him to shake off suicidal thoughts: “I wanted to see her grow up.”
He remains at risk, still receiving death threats from around the world including two in the past week: “I was shocked. People said I should go and kill myself. They said that they knew where I lived. They were coming from all over the world.” More at timesonline:

Well now ... what SHOULD happen to someone who willfully causes the fraudulent spending of billions of dollars?  What SHOULD happen to someone who fraudulently causes  corportations to lose billions of dollars in profits ... causing untold numbers of layoffs and losses in pension money due to lower stock prices?   I know what I think should happen to this guy.  He's nothing but a terrorist with a college degree.

Robert F Kennedy Jr is either stupid or he's a liar

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who flies around on private planes so as to tell larger numbers of people how they must live their lives in order to save the planet, wrote a column last year on the lack of winter weather in Washington, D.C.
In Virginia, the weather also has changed dramatically. Recently arrived residents in the northern suburbs, accustomed to today's anemic winters, might find it astonishing to learn that there were once ski runs on Ballantrae Hill in McLean, with a rope tow and local ski club. Snow is so scarce today that most Virginia children probably don't own a sled. But neighbors came to our home at Hickory Hill nearly every winter weekend to ride saucers and Flexible Flyers.

In those days, I recall my uncle, President Kennedy, standing erect as he rode a toboggan in his top coat, never faltering until he slid into the boxwood at the bottom of the hill. Once, my father, Atty. Gen. Robert Kennedy, brought a delegation of visiting Eskimos home from the Justice Department for lunch at our house. They spent the afternoon building a great igloo in the deep snow in our backyard. My brothers and sisters played in the structure for several weeks before it began to melt. On weekend afternoons, we commonly joined hundreds of Georgetown residents for ice skating on Washington's C&O Canal, which these days rarely freezes enough to safely skate. More at the WashingtonExaminer:
HEE HAW -- HEE HAW!! Pipe down, you jackass.

Yes, folks, the OLLLLDDDDDD days of snow in Virginia are gone now ... thanks to the likes of Exxon-Mobile (according to this doofus.) I mean, even if global warming were true, can a couple of degrees really matter in terms of the amount of snow in and around Washington DC? I mean, how damn stupid do they think you are? Answer: Mighty damn stupid.

Meanwhile, they just had a blizzard of EPIC proportions.  Do you think you'll be hearing anything from the braying jackass?

Look what I found

Yes you too can learn BO and surprise Professor Abbi. You will be able to make fun of your neighbors and teachers without them knowing what the f**k you're saying.

You would be in great demand by the United Nations since they are too stupid to know they would never really need your services. You could make up words all the time and spell them any way you want (how fun would that be). You could claim your Andaman island was taken by "Evil Capitalists" (done in your native tongue of course) and receive reparations for your horrible life.

I can't even imagine the amount of FREE (that means no taxpayer money is involved) money that would come pouring in from all the gov grants they would throw at you to video yourself speaking the language.

So get your copy of BO, before someone else gets it first.

Many Years Ago

When I was a youth, watching Saturday morning cartoons, they had these "Schoolhouse Rock" PSA's in between shows. This one is the reason to this day I have the Preamble memorized, but I have to sing it in my head. They might still run PSA's on Saturday mornings, but they are probably about global warming, or being green, or some such crap. On a different note, this one must be the reason I like cheese so much.

Woe is us ... for some reason

Excerpt from this article:

The last member of a 65,000-year-old tribe has died, taking one of the world's earliest languages to the grave. Ohhhhhh ... NOOOOOoooo!!!  For some reason, this sounds ominous.

Boa Sr, who died last week aged about 85, was the last native of the Andaman Islands who was fluent in Bo.

Named after the tribe, Bo is one of the 10 Great Andamanese languages, which are thought to date back to the pre-Neolithic period when the earliest humans walked out of Africa.

Boa Sr, who died last week aged about 85, was the last native of the Andaman Islands who was fluent in Bo

"Since she was the only speaker of Bo, she was very lonely as she had no one to converse with," Professor Abbi told the Times.  Oh really?  I'm guessing it wasn't that big of a deal to her ... you know ... since she didn't bother learning another language over the last many years.  Either that, or you're lying ... "professor."

Professor Abbi managed to speak with Boa using a local version of Hindi and Great Andamanese, which is a mixture of all ten tribal languages.  Oh, so she could speak an amalgam of ten different tribal languages.  I guess she was the only one around who could do that as well so she STILL didn't have anyone to talk to.  How sad. I guess it was just you and her for the last ... how many years was it  ... that you neglected to teach her the language of her neighbors?

With the death of Boa Sr and the extinction of the Bo language, a unique part of human society is now just a memory,' he said.

'Boa’s loss is a bleak reminder that we must not allow this to happen to the other tribes of the Andaman Islands.' More here:

Yes, and it's "bleak" because?  Is it because you won't have anything to bleed the government's money with "study" anymore?  Seriously, what profit-making entity is paying for the study of this crap?

And we shouldn't "allow" WHAT to happen to the other tribes? Several of them ban contact with outsiders ... yet YOU want to "help" them, right?  What are you going to do ... make them have more sex?  Are you going to personally oversee all the sex and procreating that goes on in the tribes?  Are you going to set up minimums or something?  You jackass ... why don't you mind your own business.  Oh, I forgot, you don't have any business except bleeding the taxpayers "studying."

Anyway, I could be wrong in my thinking here.  Somebody straighten my dumbass out.

Lucky we spent money when the libs said so ... WHEW!!

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The number of newly laid-off workers filing initial claims for jobless benefits rose unexpectedly last week, evidence that layoffs are continuing and jobs remain scarce. Yes, it was completely "unexpected."  Watch them swoon tomorrow when the sun comes up.

The rise is the fourth in the past five weeks. Most economists hoped that claims would resume a downward trend that was evident in the fall and early winter. More here: Yes, the fourth in the past five weeks ... and it SHOCKED everyone ... that is, everyone who has shit for brains.

Oh woe is us. Who could have known that a liberal government would tax and spend with abandon, ruining the currency and the economy as well. Who would have known you can't spend your way out of debt?  WHO? WHO COULD HAVE SEEN THIS COMING?

What? The ponzi scheme didn't work out?

Don't look now. But even as the bank bailout is winding down, another huge bailout is starting, this time for the Social Security system.

A report from the Congressional Budget Office shows that for the first time in 25 years, Social Security is taking in less in taxes than it is spending on benefits.

Instead of helping to finance the rest of the government, as it has done for decades, our nation's biggest social program needs help from the Treasury to keep benefit checks from bouncing -- in other words, a taxpayer bailout. More here:

Yes, for decades the congress has squandered our social security money instead of investing it.  They spent it with abandon.  They used that money for anything they damn well pleased.  WOE!!  WHO COULD HAVE GUESSED THEY WOULD DO THAT?  They stole your money for your whole life and NOW where is it?  Where would it be if they had let you invest it?

A while back I figured out that an average person would have had about $650,000 in the bank if he had invested (at a modest 8% return) the same money the government stole out of his paycheck.  As it is, you retire at 67 and they want to give you about $18,000 a year.  AND, when you die, you can't leave the rest to your wife/children.  GREAT FUCKING PLAN, COMMUNIST JACKASSES!!
