Words are soooo important

It's official. The U.S. is no longer engaged in a "war on terrorism." Neither is it fighting "jihadists" or in a "global war."
President Obama's top homeland security and counterterrorism official took all three terms off the table of acceptable words inside the White House during a speech Thursday at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington think tank.
"The President does not describe this as a 'war on terrorism,'" said John Brennan, head of the White House homeland security office, ... More here:
Exactly ... because the communists always like to change the language. This is because they're morons who think it actually makes a difference if they change the wording of something. They love semantics. Anyway, fast forward to today when they need more money for Afghanistan:
Robert Gibbs (White house press secretary) -- "You can't under source the most important part of the war on terror ... " More here:

Hee Haw - Hee Haw - We're objective

Television will go overboard on covering Ronald Reagan's funeral events, say Dan Rather of CBS and Tom Brokaw of NBC. ABC's Peter Jennings isn't so sure.
"They will be overcovered," Rather says. "Even though everybody is respectful and wants to pay homage to the president, life goes on. There is other news, like the reality of Iraq. It got very short shrift this weekend."

21-Gun Salute or a 3 Volley Salute
21-gun salute
This article is about the cannon salute. For the three-shot rifle salute given at military and law enforcement funerals, see 3-volley salute.
Gun salutes are the firing of cannons or arms as a (military or naval) honour.
The custom originates in naval tradition, where a warship would fire its cannons harmlessly out to sea, until all ammunition was spent, to show that it was disarmed, signifying the lack of hostile intent.
As naval customs evolved 21 volleys came to be fired for heads of state, with the number decreasing with the rank of the recipient of the honour. Multiples of 21-gun salutes may be fired for particularly important celebrations.
3-volley salute
The 3-volley salute is a ceremonial act performed at military and police funerals as part of the drill and ceremony of the Honor Guard. It consists of a rifle party firing blank cartridges into the air three times. The custom originates from the European dynastic wars, where the fighting ceased for the dead and wounded to be removed, then three shots were fired into the air to signal that the battle could resume.[1]
A rifle party usually has an odd number of members, from 3 to 7. The firearm used is typically a rifle, but at some police funerals, shotguns or handguns are used. The party usually stands so that the muzzles are pointed over the casket, or some distance away if the funeral attendees are too close to it. If the service is being performed indoors, the firing party stands outside the building, often near the front entrance.[2] On the command of the NCO-in-charge, the party raises their weapons and fires three times in unison.[2]
Modern United States military parties use modified M1, M14 or M16 rifles with their semi-automatic gas action disabled, as manually cycling weapon between shots is part of the drill.[2] The M1 and M14 are generally preferred over the current issue M16 because the appearance of these older rifles is more traditional and the charging handles are more easily operated in a dignified, ceremonial manner.
The three-volley salute is not to be confused with the 21-gun salute (or 19-gun or 17-gun, etc) which uses a battery of artillery pieces
A myth common in the United States of America relative to the origin of this tradition is that the year 1776 inspired the 21-gun salute because the sum of the digits in 1776 is 21 (i.e., 1+7+7+6 = 21). However, this is not true. Beginning in the colonial period, the United States fired one shot for each state in the Union as its national salute. This practice was partly a result of usage, because John Paul Jones saluted France with 13 guns at Quiberon Bay in 1778 when the Stars and Stripes received its first salute. The practice was not officially authorized until 1810, when the United States Department of War declared the number of rounds fired in the 'National Salute' to be equivalent to the number of states -- which, at the time was 17. The tradition continued until 1841 when it was reduced from 26 to 21.

Charles Rangel is a piece of shit

The documents also show the embattled chairman of the Ways and Means Committee -- who is being probed by the House Ethics Committee -- failed to reveal a staggering $3 million in various business transactions over the same period. More here:
I love it. I'd say "he doesn't know any better" but this is the guy who's in charge of WRITING THE TAX CODE. Good job, Rangel, you braying jackass. Now, you or I would go to prison for this. Do you think he'll go to prison? Do you think he'll remain as a member of congress in 2010?
I read the article above and also this article but, somehow, they neglect to prominently mention his party affiliation. One leaves it out altogether and the other waits until the 10th paragraph to let you know. I'll give you one guess as to his political party.
Somehow, for the mainstream media, party affiliation is only an important fact when a Republican has done something wrong. THEN it will usually be in the first sentence of the article. Isn't that funny?

Don't get sucked into this one

Spammers somehow managed to make "white people stole my car" appear on Google Trends and lead people to websites filled with spam and viruses (Truemorist recommends that you avoid clicking on most of the links that come up when searching for "white people stole my car" for the safety of your computer and your very soul). How the spammers achieved the "white people stole my car" coup is still unclear. Maybe they used robots, maybe they used specially-trained monkeys .... in any case, a handy little tool called Google Insights indicates that they've been going at it since August 19. More here:
Please, give criminals my money

A federal watchdog is now probing how the cons were cut the checks. The same cash also may have been sent to fugitive felons, people kicked out of the country and even individuals now deceased.
It’s all part of the massive American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 - and what is becoming an accounting nightmare for red-faced feds. More here:
"Red-faced Feds?" I don't McThink so. As I've repeatedly said, you can't humiliate idiots.
Way to go, government bureaucrats ... you've done it again. I just love how the government slings my money with reckless abandon. They could give a shit less. We should put the government in charge of everything ... the hell with freedom. MORE GOVERNMENT ... BIGGER GOVERNMENT ... GROW IT AND NEVER STOP.
The Klown's "Feel-good" story
Daniel Wood, 31, was allegedly sniffing gas from an aerosol can as he ran through traffic when he was chased by two officers in Lancaster, Ohio.
One officer caught Wood and got him on the ground, where Wood continued to resist, according to the police report. Yes, because it's perfectly ok to ignore commands from police and then fight them, right?
Another officer shouted a warning, then zapped Wood with the Taser, the report said.
Wood immediately burst into flames that covered his torso. Ha ha. AWESOME!
The officers were forced to drop their weapons and beat out the flames. Can you imagine what these cops were thinking? I'm guessing thoughts of lawyers and court appearances were running through their heads.
Wood said: 'My complete right half of my upper body is burned. Awe, that's a shame Mr. Wood. We need to identify the party responsible for that and bash his teeth with a crowbar.
'I have bandages from my wrist all the way up my arm and across my chest.' *Sniff
He admitted he had been inhaling vapours from a chemical cleaner in an attempt to get 'high'.
Wood had been resisting arrest by attempting to bite the officers and lashing out with his feet. From Dailymail.
Such a shame ... and it was probably his very first run-in with the law. Bad luck if you ask me.
Jackass has brayed his last
Senator Edward M. Kennedy, who carried aloft the torch of a Massachusetts dynasty and championed a liberal ideology during almost a half century in the Senate, but whose personal and political failings may have prevented him from realizing the ultimate prize of the presidency, died Tuesday night at his home in Hyannis Port. He was 77 and had been battling brain cancer. More here:Adios, jackass. You did a lot of harm to freedom in America.

Whatever happened to the dumb snatch?
Media Embraced Cindy Sheehan's Anti-Bush Push in 2005; ABC Anchor Now Says: "Enough Already" When Cindy Sheehan arrives on Martha’s Vineyard tomorrow (Tuesday), to protest against President Barack Obama, will the news media be as drawn to her as they were in the summer of 2005 when she was condemning George W. Bush?
Last week, ABC anchor Charles Gibson declared “enough already” when asked on Chicago’s WLS Radio about Sheehan’s plan to travel to Obama’s island vacation spot to protest the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. When she camped near Bush’s Crawford, Texas ranch four years ago, that was hardly the view of Gibson and his colleagues. At the time, NBC’s Kelly O’Donnell aptly dubbed her “a media magnet.”
During the next week, Gibson and ABC continued to cover Sheehan. On August 17, 2005, when Sheehan left Crawford, Gibson reported, “We're going to turn next to the standoff that is playing out near President Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas. Cindy Sheehan, you know, the mother who lost a son in Iraq, is now on the move, but she's still standing her ground. ABC's Geoff Morrell is in Crawford with the details…” The next day, Gibson reported, “All across the country last night, people held candlelight vigils in support of Cindy Sheehan…”
Yeah, the honest and forthright media couldn't get enough of this Birkenstock-wearing, tie-dyed hippy dumbass when she was protesting a Republican president. Now that a Dipshitocrat is in office they can't be bothered. I guess we're all shocked. The mainstream media is sickening.
The government has PLENTY of money
The commission is planning two days of workshops in December — titled “From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?” — to examine the state of the news industry. More here:
Yes, this is what the Federal government ought to be doing. Spending money like drunken liberals and trying to find new ways to interfere in the free market. Hey, Mr. Leibowitz, I have an idea ... why don't you people in the government get real jobs and stop sucking our wallets dry ... bunch of harebrained idiots.
Of course, I can understand their concern about their declining ability to control the information now that people are getting more and more of their news from the internet. That's GOT to be disconcerting to idiot liberals. The Klown says "You're doomed, shitstains. The party is almost over."

See ya later, jackass - Heee Hawwww
Nevadans favored Tarkanian over Reid 49 percent to 38 percent and Lowden over Reid 45 percent to 40 percent, according to the poll.
Reid's status makes him an icon of the Democratic Party and ties him to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and President Barack Obama, both of whom are losing ground among centrist and right-leaning voters in the country. More here:

Another sickening sex predator
According to the statement, the victim's mother confronted Andreini at Andreini's home in Helper on July 3 after finding out the teacher was supposedly having sex with her son. Andreini admitted to the boy's mother that she had sex with the teenager on several occasions at her home, according to the statement. More here:
Wow. Inflation is a bitch. When I was doing the teachers in Junior High, I never charged more than $10. Of course, I'm a do-gooder philanthropist.
