Palestinian Refugee Camps

Uh -- is it just me -- or does it seem to you like these peeps spend their entire lives in "refugee camps." All of my life, I've heard the term "Palestinian refugee camp." Seems to me, if I hear the word "Palestinian" -- it's sure to be followed by "Gunman" or "Refugee camp."

I mean -- first of all -- why are they "taking refuge?" Are the camps safer than the houses in town? I don't get it.

Paul reported on gang crime in Los Angeles and commented, "If you have ever been robbed by a black teen-aged male, you know how unbelievably fleet-footed they can be."

"Given the inefficiencies of what D.C. laughingly calls the `criminal justice system,' I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in that city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal," Paul said.

Paul also wrote that although "we are constantly told that it is evil to be afraid of black men, it is hardly irrational. Black men commit murders, rapes, robberies, muggings and burglaries all out of proportion to their numbers."

Stating that lobbying groups who seek special favors and handouts are evil, Paul wrote, "By far the most powerful lobby in Washington of the bad sort is the Israeli government" and that the goal of the Zionist movement is to stifle criticism.

The horn curves downward and looks like the stalk of a pumpkin, reports the Yangcheng Evening Post.

Granny Zhao, 95, of Zhanjiang city, Guangdong province, says it first appeared three years ago.

"At first, it was only a mole, but it gradually grew and became like a horn," she said.

Zhao says the horn causes her little trouble except to affect her vision slightly: "It causes me no discomfort, but blocks part of my view."

But her family are hoping that medical experts can explain the phenomenon.

The week before Earth Day, professors teaching the lab portion of CORE 101: Science, Technology and Society required their students to watch Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth during class. Every student at RWU must enroll in this core class to qualify for graduation.

So some students started asking questions like "will there be an alternative viewpoint presented?"

First it was his world history class. Then he saw it in his economics class. And his world issues class. And his environment class. In total, 18-year-old McKenzie, a Northern Ontario high schooler, says he has had the film An Inconvenient Truth shown to him by four different teachers this year.

"I really don't understand why they keep showing it," says McKenzie (his parents asked that his last name not be used). "I've spoken to the principal about it, and he said that teachers are instructed to present it as a debate. But every time we've seen it, well, one teacher said this is basically a two-sided debate, but this movie really gives you the best idea of what's going on."

McKenzie says he has educated himself enough about both sides of the climate-change controversy to know that the Al Gore movie is too one-sided to be taught as fact.

Iraq War ... not safe enough for Prince

Prince Harry will not be deployed to Iraq due to concern about the number of "specific threats" made against his life, the head of the British Army announced this afternoon.
The 22-year-old prince, who is third in line to the throne, had been due to fly out to join the rest of his Blues and Royals squadron in the south of the country.

But his deployment has now been cancelled, although the Ministry of Defence has not ruled out sending him to the region in the future.

Sir Richard Dannatt, the head of the British Army, said in a statement that the risk to the prince and his men was "unacceptable".

"There have been a number of specific threats – some reported and some not reported - which relate directly to Prince Harry as an individual," he said.

"These threats expose not only him but also those around him to a degree of risk that I now deem unacceptable."
