Danny Hembree. Convicted, and given the death penalty for the murder of 17-year old Heather Catterton in Gastonia, NC. Heads his sorry ass to prison to serve out the rest of his despicable life behind bars. But, no... this turd has to write a "letter to the editor" to laugh at the system that convicted him, and relish in his prison life - which must have been better that his life before. Color TV, Air Conditioning, three meals a day. Two of his murders, and countless others, are in the court system while he enjoys prison.
But...
North Carolina convicts murderers, puts them on death row, but cannot execute them. Because a physician's presence is mandatory before/during/after the execution, and the North Carolina Medical Board has threatened action to any MD that participates in an execution, no Doctor has stepped forth to be the guy. Makes me want to go to Med School.
And...
North Carolina has the Racial Justice Act. In a nutshell, it states, that if the victim is a white woman, she is in the least likely segment to be murdered because of her race, so the death penalty is off the table.
I am not a racist. I don't care where you came from. You kill somebody -- you should get killed back.

"Killed back" -- yes, and quickly -- not 20 years later.
And the North Carolina legislature can't just change the law so a doctor isn't mandatory? What's the "doctor" there for? To save him in case he's about to die?
