PROFESSOR JACOBSON: So Now All These People Will Apologize To Sarah Palin About Margaret Thatcher, …

A week ago The Guardian reported that Margaret Thatcher was refusing to meet with Sarah Palin, attributing a quote to an "ally" of Thatcher as follows:

Lady Thatcher will not be seeing Sarah Palin. That would be belittling for Margaret. Sarah Palin is nuts.
The blogosphere, including some conservative and libertarian haters of Palin, erupted in joy, with loads of snark and derision directed at Palin.

It turns out that the Guardian story was a hoax, as reported by Nile Gardiner

From Legal Insurrection.

Lefties apologize? ... you ask, non-ironically ... as if they give a flaming damn about accuracy.

Since you brought it up, have you noticed how the lefties in the media think apologies are big news? Seriously, they're always asking if someone "will apologize." And always, an apology will make no difference at all. It cracked me up to see how many time Anthony Weiner used the word "apologize" in his little address the other night.

Anyway, if someone apologizes spontaneously you can tell if they're truly sorry for their behavior/statements etc.

When someone apologizes after they're caught I usually get the feeling they're sorry alright ... sorry they got caught.
