Feb. 20 (Bloomberg) -- A glitch in satellite sensors caused scientists to underestimate the extent of Arctic sea ice by 500,000 square kilometers (193,000 square miles), a California- size area, the U.S. National Snow and Ice Data Center said.
The error, due to a problem called “sensor drift,” began in early January and caused a slowly growing underestimation of sea ice extent until mid-February. That’s when “puzzled readers” alerted the NSIDC about data showing ice-covered areas as stretches of open ocean, the Boulder, Colorado-based group said on its Web site. More here:

The Klown is hearing a familiar tune -- it's CIRCUS MUSIC. The thing is, facts don't matter to the libs. They aren't interested in science, they are interested in making laws that weaken capitalism and in making government as large as they possibly can. Never mind they screwed up by an area the SIZE OF CALIFORNIA.
It's starting to make more and more sense now why "scientists" are backing this. Where do you think these people get most of their money? This is how they make their living, by getting funds from the government. The bigger the government, the better their chances of extending their funding or in getting new projects approved. In my mind, I am rapidly starting to equate "scientists" with lawyers. It's disgusting.

and don't forget no matter the outcome of the research, there is always more funding needed to complete it.
