On Thursday’s Countdown show, MSNBC host Keith Olbermann tied Fox News to the recent threats against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as he quoted the mother of the accused, Greg Giusti. The MSNBC host teased the segment at the top of his Countdown show, "The mother of the man accused of threatening Nancy Pelosi says he was driven to it in part by Fox News," and later opened the segment: "The man arrested yesterday on charges of threatening House Speaker Nancy Pelosi about passage of health care reform got his ideas from Fox News. We know this because in our fourth story tonight: the defendant`s mother says so." ["We know this because his mother says so." That's about as credible as quoting a balloon vendor. It's like a pattern with these people.]
Soon an audio clip of Giusti's mother, Eleanor Giusti, was played:
Greg has frequently gets in with a group of people that have really radical ideas, and that are not consistent with myself or his, the rest of the family, and which gets him into problems. And apparently, I would say, this must be another one that somehow he`s gotten on to, either by, I say, Fox News, or all of those that are really radical, and he, that`s where he comes from. [Translation, please. I mean is this supposed to be the best source you can find? How about quoting someone who doesn't speak like they've just experienced a traumatic brain injury?]

Olbermann Ties FOX News to Anti-Pelosi Threats.
I Need a Little Help Here.
What's the name of the logical fallacy for this? The author found some some obscure fact that no reasonable person would know and uses his adversaries ignorance of this one fact to proclaim that she is completely ignorant. I mean it's one thing to mock someone who doesn't know that Pi=3.14 but it's another thing entirely to mock them for not being able to recite Pi to 26 digits- particularly if they're not a mathemagician.
This idiot is making a mountain out of a mole hill and crowing about it with abandon.
Here's the result of my comment on the post. I will report if it ever gets posted. Don't hold your breath though.

I owe NewsBusters an apology
April 08, 2010 1:17 pm ET by Simon MaloySometimes, in this crazy world of internet journalism, mistakes are made, erroneous information is passed on, and things that once seemed incontrovertibly true are revealed to be false. When that happens, the proper thing to do is issue an apology, take your lumps, and move on. And it turns out that when it comes to my extensive reporting on the crack bias sleuths at NewsBusters, I've been way off-base for quite some time now.
You see, several times now I have pointed out among the various NewsBusters contributors wild inconsistencies and ridiculous hypocrisies that, in my estimation, could have been explained in only one of two ways -- either the NewsBusters don't read their own blog, or they just don't care if they contradict each other willy-nilly. In my view, it was so improbable that they didn't actually read their own blog that the more likely explanation was that "[t]hey'll readily sacrifice what little credibility they have just to make a lame attack on a political figure they don't like."
Turns out I was wrong. They really don't read their own blog.
NewsBuster Kathleen McKinley provided confirmation of this fact as she reprinted a Twitter-fight she got into with CNN's Roland Martin. When, during the exchange of tweets, Martin mentioned one Matthew Balan, McKinley responded: "Who is Matthew Balan[?] Since he's 'my boy' I should know him."
Matthew Balan is a news analyst for the Media Research Center and -- you guessed it -- a regular contributor to NewsBusters. So not only does she not read the work of her fellow NewsBusters, she doesn't even know who they are...
As a fun postscript, McKinley offered this nonsensical update to her NewsBusters post:
It turns out that Matthew Balan is a news analyst for the Media Research Center who covers CNN. I guess since I write for NewsBusters and it is run by The Media Research Center, I'm supposed to know everyone there even though I live in Houston. Being that Matthew is bi racial, isn't is bit insulting for Mr. Martin to call him,"my boy."So please accept my apologies, NewsBusters. All this time that I've been calling you hypocritical hacks, I should have been calling you ignorant. It's a mistake I won't repeat.
If Mr. Martin were white and a conservative, I suppose we could make a big deal out of it, and force him to apologize. Even being black and a liberal, it's still insulting. But is it really something to go nuts over?
No.
Which was my entire point.
Here's the result of my comment on the post. I will report if it ever gets posted. Don't hold your breath though.

Classic Lib Tactics.
Since they can't possibly compete in ratings, instead they hate it and attack it viciously. They make arguments like "desperate times call for desperate measures" without ever examining the fact that they're desperate people and furthermore that desperate people are rarely if ever noble people. There is nothing noble nor admirable about these people and the only time you'll see a Democrat in a database of heroes is when it's a Democrat only database. These people experience no embarrassment, they feel no shame.

Mysterious and Tragic.
(CNN) -- Tragedy struck at a Pennsylvania circus Friday after a startled elephant stomped its trainer to death, police said. [Listen, if a startled animal might stomp you to death, don't startle it. You know- no sudden movements. It might have been a Muslim elephant- they're particularly easily outraged.]
People at the Irem Shrine in Wilkes-Barre, which has been hosting the James Hamid Circus all week, rushed to help but not before the trainer sustained life-threatening injuries, said police Lt. Steven Oshefski.
It was unclear what spooked the elephant, but the pachyderm was calmed by those on the scene.
The victim is not being identified until next-of-squashed pumpkin have been notified, Oshefski said.
The incident was classified as a workplace accident and the investigation has been turned over to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
A balloon vendor at the circus told CNN affiliate WBRE that the death was shocking.
"In the 30 years I've been doing my vending, I've never heard an animal killing their trainer and all [well then, it must never have happened except that I've been a balloon vendor for ZERO years and I've heard of countless cases of exactly that happening. Maybe he was just too busy looking up at all the pretty balloons to notice.]," said Ed Conrad. "So something must have happened." [They quoted a balloon vendor. A BALLOON VENDOR. Not only that, but he stated he's been a balloon vendor for 30 YEARS. I suspect they might have been able to find a more expert witness. I'm not saying this guy is a moron. I'm sure it takes excellent grades and years of hard work to achieve the position of balloon vendor. Not only that, but he must have been fighting off all the people scrambling for his job the whole time.]
Oshefski said the elephant came into contact with electrical wires, but it was unclear what exactly startled the animal. [Another mystery. I can't imagine what might have caused him to be startled. If only there were some clue... some indicator... something to give us an idea of what might have startled him. SOMETHING.]
Animal rights activists decried the use of animals in circuses.
"It should come as no surprise that elephants and other animals sometimes snap and attack circus employees and members of the public," said Robbyn Brooks of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). [I agree with PeTA on this one. However, I also think meat is delicious.]
"PETA has obtained shocking photos and video of circus trainers as they beat elephants and subject them to violent training methods using barbaric devices such as bullhooks," Brooks said.
Circus members observed a moment of silence for the elephant handler who died, WBRE reported. The circus, however, made a decision almost immediately after the death that the performance would go on.

Democrats' Golf Rules
From the Myrtle Beach Sun News - April 3rd - A Letter to the Editor:
LMAO @ "Pelosis"
Recently I had the pleasure of playing golf with my regular foursome when we introduced "Stagg Rules" into the game. Basically, we eliminated mulligans and gimmes from the game. As most know, a mulligan, if agreeable with your opponents, is a second opportunity to re-hit your tee shot if you are not successful on your first attempt, and a gimme is a demonstration of generosity by one's opponent to allow you to pick up your ball on the green with the assumption that you would sink the putt easily, and thereby speed up play.
In "Stagg Rules," when a player declares "Stagg Rules in Effect," mulligans are automatically replaced with Pelosis. No one in the group is allowed to object once Pelosis are declared. A Pelosi is similar to the mulligan except there is no limit on the number of Pelosis you can use off the tee, in the fairway or around the greens. Once you are satisfied with one of your many efforts, you may select the one you like and proceed to your next shot.
Normally, an average golfer will see a dramatic improvement in fairways and greens hit in regulation under the Pelosi rule. But the real good news comes with the abolition of gimmes, which we have replaced with Deems. No longer will you be at the mercy of an ungentlemanly opponent who never gives a putt longer than 6 inches. Once you are on the green within the flagpole's length from the hole (about 8 feet), you may Deem your putt to be a gimme, pick up your ball, and move on to the next tee.
At first, my group was skeptical of my "Stagg Rules" declaration, but let me tell you, when we added up our scores and everyone came in 10 under par or better, there were smiles all around. I'm beginning to think this Obama guy's thinking ain't all that bad. Can't wait to tee it up again.

How libs end up on the wrong side of every issue
This video is very entertaining but it's an hour long. He doesn't even start until the six-minute mark. Watch as much as you want ... skip ahead if you want. I listened to the whole thing as an mp3 the other day and I thought I'd pass it along to you hoppage.
Colombian Devil's Breath
We heard harrowing tales from victims and perpetrators alike, sat with prostitutes who calmly explained administering the drug to unsuspecting johns, and visited the home of a man who confessed in chilling detail to murdering someone who had dosed him with the drug. It was difficult to believe at times, but we spoke to countless law enforcement officials and medical professionals who verified all that we'd heard, and who also expressed their frustration and fear with what they saw as a growing problem.
Part II here. (I couldn't embed it for some reason).
From CNN.
Nothing from Snopes on this yet. Until they report, I'd view this with a skeptical eye.

Ha ha - I'm getting over on the tax system ... NOT!
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Tax Day is a dreaded deadline for millions, but for nearly half of U.S. households it's simply somebody else's problem.
About 47 percent will pay no federal income taxes at all for 2009. Either their incomes were too low, or they qualified for enough credits, deductions and exemptions to eliminate their liability. That's according to projections by the Tax Policy Center, a Washington research organization.
Most people still are required to file returns by the April 15 deadline. The penalty for skipping it is limited to the amount of taxes owed, but it's still almost always better to file: That's the only way to get a refund of all the income taxes withheld by employers.
In recent years, credits for low- and middle-income families have grown so much that a family of four making as much as $50,000 will owe no federal income tax for 2009, as long as there are two children younger than 17, according to a separate analysis by the consulting firm Deloitte Tax.
Tax cuts enacted in the past decade have been generous to wealthy taxpayers, too, making them a target for President Barack Obama and Democrats in Congress. Less noticed were tax cuts for low- and middle-income families, which were expanded when Obama signed the massive economic recovery package last year.
The result is a tax system that exempts almost half the country from paying for programs that benefit everyone, including national defense, public safety, infrastructure and education. It is a system in which the top 10 percent of earners -- households making an average of $366,400 in 2006 -- paid about 73 percent of the income taxes collected by the federal government. More here:
Well, if you ask me, I call bullshit on the whole thing. The government can raise taxes on corporations and the "evil rich" all they want but the corporations and evil rich will just raise your prices on goods and services to pay for it. That means YOU pay ALL taxes. It's just a huge shell game designed to fool the people into thinking they don't have to pay taxes if they're poor. Get it? If you don't, you're an idiot.
Yes, the government can seek to control prices and then all you'll get is black market, shortages, and inflation ... ask Hugo Chavez, or anyone else who has ever tried it in history.
Yes, we need SOME taxes but we don't need to fund every whim of every liberal jackass on the planet. I notice the founding fathers had no federal income tax when they wrote the constitution. I guess "smarter" people figure the founders must have "forgotten."
I ask you this. Do you think even ONE state would have ratified the constitution if they thought they would eventually become mere appendages of a behemoth federal government? It's nothing but a massive (and growing) tumor on the bodies of the states ... with the power to tax the citizens of the states at will.
An Olde Problem
A man is exactly six feet tall. How tall of a mirror, mounted vertically on a wall, is required for him to see himself entirely?
I am NOT a slave !!!
Cary Feldman
If you get into a car accident and 911 is called, you may get billed for the emergency response. Cash-strapped communities are sending out bills to cover the costs of fire trucks responding to crashes. As CBS 2 Investigator Dave Savini reports, often times it does not matter whether you caused the accident or are the victim.
Cary Feldman received one of these bills last summer. He was driving his motor scooter in Chicago Heights when he was struck from behind. He was fine, but someone else called 911, and a fire truck was sent to the scene.
Feldman says it was unnecessary.
"There was no fire, there was no explosion, there was no debris," Feldman said. "From what I saw, they came, they saw, and they left."
The fire department then sent him a $200 bill for that fire truck response.
"We're paying taxes for these services," said Feldman. "We don't need to have a second tax." More here:
Ha ha - of COURSE you need second tax. As far as I'm concerned you need a third and fourth tax as well. Keep voting for idiots and see if they ever get tired of snagging your cash. (for the public good, of course.) But you're not really a slave, right? You get to keep almost 50% of your money (for now) so just shut the hell up and pay, dumbass.
Think about this:
1. Cows
2. The Constitution
3. The Ten Commandments
--------------------------------------------------------------
COWS
Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that during the mad cow epidemic our government could track a single cow, born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she slept in the state of Washington? And, they tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country. Maybe we should give each of them a cow.
--------------------------------------------------------------
THE CONSTITUTION
They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq ... Why don't we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it has worked for over 200 years, and we're not using it anymore.
--------------------------------------------------------------
THE 10 COMMANDMENTS
The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments posted in a government building is this --you cannot post 'Thou Shalt Not Steal' 'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery' and 'Thou Shall Not Lie' in a building full of politicians .... it creates a hostile work environment.

There Are Two Things Wrong With This Picture.
This photo came across my desk because the OP thought it was strange how the little girl in the bottom of the photo seems to be disinterested in the impending doom. I, however, find it more interesting that the only other person in the photo without his hands up is also the one getting cracked in the jaw by the flying bat. I suggest he writes a note to himself simply stating, "next time, put up your arms to protect your head and don't worry about how gay it'll make you look on the internet".
Harry Reid's Double Secret Campaign Tour.
Poor Harry Reid.
The Democratic Majority Leader and coward from Nevada won’t announce his bus tour stops ahead of time out of fear of protesters…
And, yet somehow they find him anyway.
Protesters picket outside TJ’s Pizza Shack in Fernley as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) makes a campaign stop Tuesday, April 6, 2010. (Las Vegas Sun)
Harry Reid is taking a bus tour across the state of Nevada to rev up the minority of residents who can stand him. But, he won’t announce his arrival time.
The Las Vegas Sun reported:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid swung through the state’s Republican heartland Tuesday and was greeted with a small but polite band of residents from the opposition.
Among the few dozen mostly supportive Democrats gathered at the 88 Cups cafe were a foursome of conservative activists who had been trying for two days to pinpoint the senator’s arrival time.
Harry wouldn’t announce his arrival time. But that’s OK.
They found him anyway.
Harry Reid canceled a fireside chat last weekend at a Mormon meeting place after protesters threatened to show up.
