DAYTONA BEACH – Palin-mania easily surpassed Danica-mania at Daytona International Speedway on Sunday.

While Patrick got all the headlines for the better part of two weeks, she had no stake in the Daytona 500. Palin did, and as a VIP guest for the race, she ate up all the attention.

When she arrived for the drivers meeting, Palin was immediately mobbed. She briefly chatted with Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele, shook hands with supporters and smiled big.

She took a seat up front next to Harry Connick Jr., who sang the national anthem for the race. When NASCAR president Mike Helton acknowledged her as a special guest, she got the largest ovation from the room, packed from the front to the back with drivers, team members, support personnel and onlookers. Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon.

Well ... what difference does it make if he "lost the data."  I doubt that's true.  I think it's more likely that he FAKED the data.  So what do you do with a guy who's caused so much turmoil and wasted money/resources ... on purpose ... for personal gain?  If the Klown were in charge, he'd get the death penalty ... with torture first.  Yes, I think the torture would work like this:

For every 10K you stole/wasted you get one day of torture.  One "day" of torture would be broken down into four increments of 30 minutes each throughout the day.  Each morning the guard comes before breakfast and rolls a pair of dice.  If a seven comes up -- it's TORTURE DAY!!  After you've done all the torture you have coming, you're put to death ... in a humane way of course ... we're not animals.

NEW YORK (CBS) ―An interior designer is suing CNN anchor Anderson Cooper after she took an unusual fall at an old Manhattan firehouse that he is converting into a new home.

Killian O'Brien, of Brooklyn, said in her suit that she plunged 17 feet through the hole that once held the station's fire pole.

The pole had been removed, but the hole was uncovered.

The accident happened in September. Her lawyer says she is lucky to be alive. She is also suing the developer of the building.

Cooper's spokesman declined to comment.

The firehouse was built in 1906. It was the former home of a unit of the Fire Patrol, a private firefighting organization backed by the insurance industry. From wcbstv.com:

Just another in a LONG and ever-increasing series of lawsuits against YOU insurance companies. Notice how she's suing everyone in sight.  This is called "naming" someone in a lawsuit.  The more people/companies she "names," the more chance she has of getting PAID.

That's right ... getting PAID for being an idiot and falling through a perfectly visible hole in the floor.

And why don't the insurance companies fight these lawsuits?  Because it's cheaper to settle them and then raise your rates, that's why. That's why YOU PAY whenever one of these suits is filed. If the insurance companies could get repaid for their trouble and costs in defending lawsuits like this, they would defend themselves.  For this to happen, we need tort reform.

Note the lawyers getting rich on this kind of crap.  Tort reform would also work on medical malpractice suits.  Ask youself ... Who is making money off these suits?  Is it free?  If not, who is paying?

Utah calls bullshit on global warming

Utah's House of Representatives apparently has at least. Officially the most Republican state in America, its political masters have adopted a resolution condemning "climate alarmists", and disputing any scientific basis for global warming.

The measure, which passed by 56-17, has no legal force, though it was predictably claimed by climate change sceptics as a great victory in the wake of the controversy caused by a mistake over Himalayan glaciers in the UN's landmark report on global warming.

The original version of the bill dismissed climate science as a "well organised and ongoing effort to manipulate and incorporate "tricks" related to global temperature data in order to produce a global warming outcome". It accused those seeking action on climate change of riding a "gravy train" and their efforts would "ultimately lock billions of human beings into long-term poverty".

By the time the final version of the bill came to a vote, cooler heats apparently prevailed. The bill dropped the word "conspiracy", and described climate science as "questionable" rather than "flawed". From the Guardian:

The etymology of "sophisticated" is that it comes from the Sophists who established the philosophy of Sophistry. These people had a reputation for being intelligently tricky. I learned this 30 years ago and ever since have had an ingrained distrust for such people. Just say what you mean and mean what you say.

I don't care how simply you say it- just be sincere. I suspect and trust I'm not alone on this and for that reason, I have a strange feeling that Palin is going to be our next president or at the very least, vice president.

Remember how the libs whined about the patriot act?

Yes, the patriot act.  That was the one that authorized the government to (without an immediate warrant) listen in on phone conversations.  They still had to get a warrant but they could get it later.  Presumably if no warrant was allowed, the evidence could not be used.  There were also some "rules" about it.

It's more complex than this but I shall summarize:

1 - The phone call had to originate from another country.

2 - They had to have reason to believe one of the numbers belonged to a terrorist.

Ohhhhh, the libs screamed bloody murder about this ... on and on and on ... daily harping by the media. I'm sure you recall.

Well,  now the Obama administration is trying to get an OK to track your cell phone ... WITHOUT a warrant.  From what I can tell, they don't have to get a warrant later either.  Do I care?  Only because it doesn't require a warrant ... which means that it can be abused easier ... which means we're losing some freedom here.

Anyway, do you hear anything from the media about this?  Shall they harp on and on and on?  Of course not.  You know why?  Because the Dipshitocrats are doing it, that's why ... and anything the Dipshitocrats do is just fine an dandy with the media ... capisce?  They only care when conservatives do something like this.  Actually, it doesn't matter WHAT conservative intiatives come up, the media are against them.

Even though police are tapping into the locations of mobile phones thousands of times a year, the legal ground rules remain unclear, and federal privacy laws written a generation ago are ambiguous at best. On Friday, the first federal appeals court to consider the topic will hear oral arguments in a case that could establish new standards for locating wireless devices.

In that case, the Obama administration has argued that warrantless tracking is permitted because Americans enjoy no "reasonable expectation of privacy" in their--or at least their cell phones'--whereabouts. U.S. Department of Justice lawyers say that "a customer's Fourth Amendment rights are not violated when the phone company reveals to the government its own records" that show where a mobile device placed and received calls. If MSNBC and CNN are really wondering why FOX is getting all the good ratings, they really should watch the network for a little while and pay attention. The hosts of the shows rarely snicker, never condescend to people who don't agree with their points, and when they have more than one guest on the air, it's invariably someone with a differing opinion from the first.

This video is a painfully reminiscent of what it must be like when a cheerleader tries to join drama club. For the first time, the people in drama club get to be the ones to exclude the "popular people" and do everything to pour as much acid as they can muster.

I know that Chris Matthews isn't a journalist- he's an entertainer so I really shouldn't take him seriously at all. After watching this video, I don't see how anyone could take him seriously at all.

A foul-mouthed New Zealand surgeon has been reprimanded after swearing at a severely obese patient.

A 44-year-old mother filed a complaint about the doctor after a tense consultation with him last year, The New Zealand Herald reports.

The doctor said f--- at least three times to the Maori woman after she told him she didn't like the word "diet" and preferred the term "lifestyle".

POLK COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- The Polk County school district is giving away iPods to some parents.

The school district is using the device to reward parents of children with disabilities who fill out a 10-minute online survey. The district wants to know how well it's connecting with the parents and how to get parents involved in their children's education.

The district is spending about $350,000 in federal stimulus money for the iPods. From here:

 I know it's obvious that he's really talking about ONE "certain news organizations [sic]"- FOX. His use of singular verbs rather plural verbs makes this painfully obvious. If he weren't a Liberal, he'd just come out and say what he actually means instead of half-heartedly feign impartiality. Rather than coming across as diplomatic or tactful, he comes across as being a cowardly rat and that's probably closer to the truth.

What do you think would have happened if the security guards intervened?  The media would have made them all out to be criminals.  There would have been hearings at the city council and the lawyers would be swarming.  The funny things is, the same ones who would have swarmed the guards (security company) will instead swarm the city and the taxpayers will pay.

Common sense is gone ... replaced by the wisdom of predatory lawyers and facilitated by the liberals in the congress and the judiciary.  This is why the libs filibustered all of Bush's judicial nominees.  They were used to filling the judicial vacancies (which is crucial to forming society in their desired image) and when Bush started to make appointments to the bench, the libs filibustered.  The filibuster was never used to block judicial appointees until the libs started it. Republicans did not employ this tactic. Nor had the libs until Bush was elected.  When the Republicans had the option to stop it, they failed to act.
