GAAA - Worst nuclear disaster in world history

SANYA, China (Reuters) - Japanese authorities may be exaggerating the scope of the country's nuclear disaster to reduce the liabilities of insurance companies, Russia's nuclear chief said on Wednesday.

Japanese officials on Tuesday upgraded the severity of the emergency at the tsunami-damaged Fukushima Daiichi plant to a 7, putting it on par with the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster, the world's worst.

"It is hard for me to assess why the Japanese colleagues have taken this decision. I suspect, this is more of a financial issue, than a nuclear one," Sergei Kiriyenko said on the sidelines of a meeting of major developing economies in southern China.

"I guess that maybe it could be linked to the definition of force-majeure with regard to insurance. I would pay attention to that. It is a bit strange," Kiriyenko said without further elaboration.

Ha ha.  I love it when people, companies, and nations behave in a ridiculous manner in order to avoid lawsuits, don't you?  Well, we can't really blame anyone, can we?  After all, it doesn't really cost us anything, right?

Democrats beg Republcians not to "make mistake"

House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer has joined President Obama in conceding that he blundered by voting against an increase to the government’s debt ceiling.

“I have voted against the debt limit in the past. That was a mistake,” Hoyer (Md.), the second-ranking House Democrat, said in an unprompted admission to reporters on Tuesday.

His comment came two days after White House adviser David Plouffe said Obama made a mistake by voting against raising the debt ceiling when he was a senator.

Democrats are urging Republicans not to jeopardize the economy and the full faith and credit of the nation with talk of voting against raising the $14 trillion debt ceiling before the borrowing limit is reached in July. But the Democrats' own votes against raising that ceiling during George W. Bush’s presidency are coming back to haunt them.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee attacked Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), who voted against raising the ceiling in 2007, for “flip-flopping” on the issue when she called Republicans “profoundly irresponsible” for threatening to do the same thing.

Hoyer said he voted with other Democrats against lifting the debt ceiling when Republicans were in the majority to protest what he said were irresponsible GOP fiscal policies, such as tax cuts for the wealthy.

In the Senate, a spokesman for Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Reid has previously stated that he “believes he should have voted differently.”

Other Democratic senators stopped short of declaring their previous votes a mistake. Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) voted against the debt-limit increase in 2006 “to demand a course correction from the Bush fiscal policies that had turned record budget surpluses into record deficits with no end in sight,” Kerry spokeswoman Whitney Smith said.

Oh shut up you braying jackasses.
Christian conservatives often decry the silencing of faith by major network television.

But Sunday night on CBS’ hit reality TV series “Undercover Boss,” people of faith had their breath taken away by what they witnessed, sparking a Facebook and Twitter avalanche of support and praise.

On Facebook, Kini Se remarked, “Loved the episode of 'Undercover Boss' last night.  It is the BEST one yet.  It is great to see you praising the Lord on National television.  The entire time, I had tears running down my face.  It was real, it was true and inspirational.  God bless you and your family.”

Atlas Shrugged (The Movie)

Not only is this an interesting and well-written review of the soon (very soon - if you live near a big city) to be released movie, but it's an outstanding blog. I guess it's going to be made in three parts, but maybe if the first installment is popular (i.e. profitable) the rest of it could be made in an epic four-hour piece.

This judge doesn't take any shit off 70-year-old whippersnappers

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -- In a courtroom in Wichita, the day begins much as it has for the past 49 years: Court is in session, U.S. District Judge Wesley Brown presiding. But what happens next is no longer routine; it's a testament to one man's sheer determination.

As lawyers and litigants wait in respectful silence, Brown, who is 103, carefully steers his power wheelchair behind the bench, his stooped frame almost disappearing behind its wooden bulk. He adjusts under his nose the plastic tubes from the oxygen tank lying next to the day's case documents. Then his voice rings out loud and firm to his law clerk, "Call your case."

Brown is the oldest working federal judge in the nation, one of four appointees by President Kennedy still on the bench. Federal judgeships are lifetime appointments, and no one has taken that term more seriously than Brown.

"As a federal judge, I was appointed for life or good behavior, whichever I lose first," Brown quipped in an interview. How does he plan to leave the post? "Feet first," he says. More here:

Mmmm-hmmm.  On the surface, I love it ... you know ... as long as he isn't some dumbass lib clinging to power (as they are wont to do.)  If he's just a regular American then we're probably all benefiting from his experience.

It's been my experience that the older you get the less likely you are to believe a bunch of horseshit liberalism.  Not saying it's impossible ... just less likely.

Someone mentioned Kowtowing so I looked into it

I found this guy ... and he's pissing me off. He REFUSES to submit to government's authorit-EYE. THAT'S RIGHT ... nobody's gonna keep him down.

He is resisting. Notice his toes. He INSISTS on clinging to the last vestige of standing. Those toes should be pointing backwards and HE KNOWS IT ... BUT HE REFUSES TO GIVE IN!!!

Now listen to me, I know you resistor types are out there. Just keep this in mind.  I have an eye for detecting the myriad ways in which your resistance manifests itself ... and when the world is mine, your death shall be slow and painful ... capisce?

Anyway, I found him here:

WTF

"BAIL'EM OUT!!! ???? Hell, back in 1990, the Government seized the Mustang Ranch brothel in Nevada for tax evasion and, as required by law, tried to run it.. They failed and it closed.. Now, we are trusting the economy of our country, our banking system, our auto industry and possibly our health plans to the same nit-wits who couldn't make money running a whore house and selling whiskey?!"

"What the Hell are we thinking"

( copied from an email )

God, I love America!!

Earl: "Yes, let's chain a couple of cars together and THEN race them."

Jethro: "Ok, but only the guy in back gets the brakes ... oh, and he's gotta be hookered up backer'ds."

Got the idea for this post offa a lefty commenter (Bisbonian) over yonder at the J-Walk blog:

WHEW! Dangerous dick-strangler removed from high school.

Stacy Schuler turns herself in at the Warren County Courts Building in Lebanon, Ohio.

A gym teacher in Ohio who allegedly had sex with several high school football players now faces multiple counts of sexual battery.

Stacy Schuler, who has been on paid administrative leave since mid-January when the claims first surfaced, was indicted Friday on 16 counts of sexual battery and three misdemeanor counts of offenses involving underage persons, the Dayton Daily News reported.

The 32-year-old is accused of having sexual relations with students on five different occasions in 2010, officials with the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office told the newspaper.

Most of the incidents involved members of the Mason High School football team, authorities said. More here:

Oh those poor, poor, football players ...  just the thought of them being forced to undergo such mental trauma ... the mind boggles.  How, OH HOW, did they manage to keep sane?  I wonder if any of them managed to take photographic evidence of the rare and elusive male orgasm?

I don't know about you but I feel much better every time we stick one of these witches in prison.   Also, making them register as a sex offender and stealing their ability to make a living in their chosen profession is icing on the cake .... cuz ... GOTCHA, WITCH!!!

The Lottery - 'Splained in Simple Terms

I used to think letting meat "rest" was just some lib bullshit

I was researching it and found the following:

The first time I barbecued a brisket, I took it out of the WSM and sliced it immediately. I was surprised to see a rush of juices run out all over the cutting board! Afterward, I wondered why the meat was so dry?

My experience is an example of why it's important to let meat rest after cooking and before slicing.

The Mechanics Of Letting Meat Rest

In the book How to Cook Meat, authors Chris Schlesinger and John Willoughby state that as meat proteins are heated during cooking, they coagulate and squeeze out some of the moisture inside their coiled structures and in the spaces between the individual molecules. The heat drives this liquid toward the center of the meat. In the book CookWise, author Shirley O. Corriher reveals a bit more detail: as meat proteins cook, they begin to shrink. Up to 120°F, the proteins shrink in diameter only and there is little moisture loss, but above 120°F the proteins also begin to shrink in length, which really puts the squeeze on moisture. By 170°F, most of the moisture will be squeezed out of a lean piece of meat.

As meat rests, this process is partially reversed. The moisture that is driven toward the center of the meat is redistributed as the protein molecules relax and are able to reabsorb some moisture. As a result, less juice runs out of the meat when you cut into it. Willoughby claims that if you cut into meat right away, almost twice as much liquid is lost than if you let it rest before carving. Liberal piece of crap wants to steal your freedom

BIG IDEA:City Councilman Leroy Comrie, here yesterday, wants toys banned from Happy Meals.

Fast-food restaurants would be forced to yank toys from any kids meal with more than 500 calories, under the bill Comrie introduced yesterday ... More here:

Well, lookie here ... some dumbass liberal hypocrite wants to steal your freedom ... to save you, of course.  He's very interested in your welfare.  His only interest is in the "greater good" and the way things outta be (according to his genius, of course.)  Yes, you'll be shocked to discover he's a "Democratic."

Wombat pointed out the fact he has an interesting last name ... Comrie.  Perhaps he changed it from "Commie" because it was too "on the nose."

Hey, fatso, I wish we could "ban" you from consuming too many calories (we'll be deciding how many is "too many" ... for you) ...  and then we'll fine and harass your fat-ass in court every time you go over ... how would you like that, you jackass.

Surprise, some dipstick named Mohamed wants to kill Jews

Former International Atomic Energy Agency chief Mohamed ElBaradei, who had previously announced his intetions to run for the presidency of Egypt, said Monday that “if Israel attacked Gaza we would declare war against the Zionist regime."

Number 2 best April Fools day prank of all time?

According to the Huffington Post, this is the 2nd greatest April Fool's day prank of all time. They call it a "pretty impressive prank" as if convincing the listeners of NPR of anything is difficult. I mean, you take the most gullible audience of all time and then act like you put one over on them? Well done!

Other "greatest pranks of all time" here... Huffington Post. Note that these are the very same "greatest pranks of all time" as last year because it is the Huffington Post after all and why should they provide fresh and current content?

Media & Democratics steal your life -- bit by bit -- year after year

U.S. consumers face "serious" inflation in the months ahead for clothing, food and other products, the head of Wal-Mart's U.S. operations warned Wednesday.

... inflation is "going to be serious," Wal-Mart U.S. CEO Bill Simon said during a meeting with USA TODAY's editorial board. "We're seeing cost increases starting to come through at a pretty rapid rate." More here:

Oh my, what a surprise.  No way anyone could have predicted this.

Oh wait, turns out it was predicted ... here, here, here, here, and here.

Yes, even a stupid/evil Klown with no education knew it and yet the communists our intellectual betters in Washington missed  all the signs. Hey, I guess the media missed all the signs as well ... otherwise wouldn't they have been howling like banshees for the last couple of years as Obama and the Democratics squandered trillions?

Nope, instead the media are constantly telling us how smart the Democratics are and how utterly stupid the conservatives are.  The good news is the poor are well positioned to lose purchasing power as well as pay double for gas (since Obama took office.)

Hey -- you know whose fault this is?   That's right, the evil rich (and corporations) forced the government to print all that money out of thin air.  Those evil rich/corporations are also forcing themselves to abstain from drilling for oil.  They also have imposed stiff EPA regulations on themselves so it's no longer profitable to build refineries.  In addition to that, they're sure to waste tons of cash to conform with self-imposed EPA restrictions on transportation of oil.  (By the way, it's free to conform with regulations, did you know that?  That's right, doesn't cost a penny.)

Keep voting as the media tells you, as they steal your life right from under your nose ... baaaa bleat.
