Government is cash-strapped

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) — A burglar was caught on camera smashing his way into a San Jose home, but the homeowners say police are forcing them to take justice into their own hands.

San Jose police say the couple’s case isn’t a priority, according to the homeowners, despite surveillance footage of the home showed a crystal clear image of the suspect throwing a rock through a door to Ryan Leiby’s home before going on to steal a watch collection.

Leiby, who thought he had done everything right by installing the cameras after a neighbor’s home was burglarized, was left feeling violated by the break-in.

“We made the precautions, but they didn’t quite work,” he said.

Armed with the video, Leiby went to San Jose police.  But, police told Leiby the cash-strapped department can’t afford to investigate property crimes, even with a clear surveillance image of the suspect. More here:

"Cash strapped."  Really?  Are they "cash strapped" enough they can't pull over DUI's and fine them into oblivion?  What about pulling people over for speeding so they can fine them into oblivion too?  What about patrolling the parking meters or ticketing jay-walkers? Too cash strapped for that?

Is it just me or are the cops merely the hand of the pickpocket?  Are they protecting your liberty and property?  Or are they taking your cash ... you know ... since they are cash-strapped.

Ever notice?  No matter how much the government takes, it's always cash strapped.

Ack, the festering Jew tumor is back!

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani lashed out at Israel in vitriolic terms on Wednesday, referring to Israel as a “festering Zionist tumor.”

Rouhani, who has been championed by Western media as a moderate reformer who could change Iran’s extremist ways, appears to be adopting a violent tone similar to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who has advocated for the complete destruction of Israel in recent days.

“Today, this festering Zionist tumor has opened once again and has turned the land of olives into destruction and blood and littered the land with the body parts of Palestinian children,” Rouhani was quoted as saying in a statement that was translated by the Brookings Institution. More here:
