Barbara Boxer going down?

Dumb snatch - aka Barbara Boxer

(Reuters) - Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer's edge over Republican challenger Carly Fiorina has dwindled to 3 points as she seeks re-election in November, with more Californians now holding an unfavorable view of the three-term senator, a poll released on Thursday showed.

Boxer, who once held a 30-point lead over Fiorina, the former CEO of Hewlett Packard and a political novice, is now ahead by a margin of only 47 percent to 44 percent, the Field Poll found. More here:

Well, this is good news and it's fun to think about but, believe me, Californians are morons.  They have double digit inflation, they pay/tax through the nose for gasoline, they have tens of billions in budget deficit problems - etc etc -- but they'll keep reelecting Boxer and Pelosi et al until they run the rest of us out of money and they STILL won't learn.  Brings a smile to my face to dream about it though.

Democrats doing everything possible to help economy

Bold is mine:

One of the less-publicized measures in the new health-care law, the tax imposes a 10 percent surcharge on the use of ultraviolet indoor tanning beds.

But outraged owners of tanning salons worry that the levy could deal a death blow to an industry already reeling from the recession.

"In 26 years of business, this is the worst I've seen it," said Scott Shortnacy, owner of the Arlington Solar Planet as well as six other branches in the Washington area. "Normally for people who tan, it's a part of their lifestyle. They keep doing it even in a recession. But everybody has been looking for ways to cut back on those areas. . . . Our sales are down 20 to 30 percent."

According to the Indoor Tanning Association, an industry trade group, most of the nation's 19,000 tanning salons are small businesses that are owned and staffed by women. Shortnacy said all but two of his several dozen employees are women. With business so slow, he opted against hiring the 10 to 15 seasonal workers he normally adds during the spring high season. More here:

Yes, the Democrats.  They're very, VERY concerned about the economy.  I know this because I heard Obama say he was going to do "everything in his power" to create jobs etc.  Meanwhile this tanning tax thing is just the latest job hammer following his recent shutdown of oil drilling.

Also, it would seem that this particular measure is going to be hitting women the hardest. Never mind about discrimination though because, as we all know, this tax was done by Democrats and, as such, cannot be racist.

Speaking of racism. Is it just me or does this seem to be a tax on white people?  It's a tanning tax.  Do you know any black peeps who use these machines?

Just another day of living in the bizarre world of liberal logic.

What We All Know Continues To Be Ignored and Yet the Problem Is Still Unresolved.

Weird, right? We all know the truth yet we disregard it. We disregard it for a variety of reasons- convenience, greed, guilt- the list is long. Yesterday, yet another incident occurred in a Chinese school where several children and teachers were assaulted by a man. The press would have you believe that this is due to two possible reasons. 1. The man was mentally ill. 2. He was driven by "social pressures" because of the widening gap between the Haves and the Have-nots in China.

Excerpts from Yahoo News:

Most of the recent school invasions have been blamed on people with personal grudges or suffering from mental illness, leading to calls for improved security.

Accounts in China's state-owned media have glossed over motives and largely shied away from why schools have so often been targets. Yet experts say outbursts against the defenseless are frequently due to social pressures.

An avowedly egalitarian society only a generation ago, China's headlong rush to prosperity has sharpened differences between haves and have-nots, and the public health system has atrophied even as pressures grew.

"We must create a more healthy and just society," said Zhou Xiaozheng, a sociology professor at Renmin University in Beijing.

While it's not known if Thursday's attacker knew about previous school stabbings, Zhou said such sensational, violent acts often draw copycats.

"Normally, with these kind of violent events we hope the media won't blow them up too much, because that tends to make it spread," Zhou said.

On Wednesday, a man in the southern city of Leizhou broke into a primary school and wounded 15 students and a teacher in a knife attack.

That attack came the same day a man was executed for stabbing eight children to death outside their elementary school last month in the southeastern city of Nanping.

China likely has about 173 million adults with mental health disorders, and 158 million of them have never had professional help, according to a mental health survey in four provinces jointly done by Chinese and U.S. doctors that was published in the medical journal The Lancet in June.

The attack in March shocked China because eight children died and the assailant had no known history of mental illness. At his trial, Zheng Minsheng, 42, said he killed because he had been upset after being jilted by a woman and treated badly by her wealthy family. He was executed Wednesday, just a little over a month after his crime.

After a 2004 attack at a school in Beijing that left nine students dead, the central government ordered tighter school security nationwide. Regulations that took effect in 2006 require schools to register or inspect visitors and keep out people who have no reason to come inside.

Other sources are singing the same song. A quick google search in News for "china kindergarten" will result in countless news stories on the topic. A quick tally shows that these incidents are neither rare nor abating. The first major incident was in 2004 but the 3 most recent all occurred this year in May, last Wednesday and yesterday. One might think there's a pattern of acceleration in the frequency of these occurrences.

The solutions proposed are seemingly obvious but ultimately futile. The real problem is much larger and unfortunately for all of us, it's the elephant in the room that everyone is trying so desperately to ignore. The real root of the problem is their cultural lack of respect for basic human rights. The standard of living for the majority of the people in China is so low that even if you've never known anything else, you'd still realize that something's wrong with it.

Those who toil in China are chronically subjected to working conditions that would drive any human being insane and it's not like they're taking these jobs to get rich. The workers are wasting their lives away working for wages that are so far below the poverty line that they can only dream of dying young and being relieved of this torture.

In China as in every communist country, the few govern the many and contrary to an actual Utopia, 99% of the money goes to 1% of the population while they simultaneously orate that they're doing this for the good of the people. This is the very same thought process demonstrated by President Obama, Speaker Pelosi et al regarding healthcare reform. Contrary to the blatant and obvious objections by the American people, they did what they knew to be best for us.

Now we're being told that the healthcare plan that was going to save $143 billion (that's like million but with a b) is actually going to cost $115 billion. Of course none of us are actually surprised but nothing we did to stop it actually worked. What makes this worse is that the Liberals defend this fact with arguments like "well, we knew it was actually going to cost money but saying it would save money was the only way we could get it passed".

To wind this up and to get to the point, the working Chinese are subjected to such sub-human treatment that it's no wonder they snap. To remain subjected to such treatment with no reasonable means of escape and to not zealously object would be abnormal behavior. In spite of all the evidence in front of all of us, it takes the MSM months to finally acknowledge that terrorist acts are not the work of home grown terrorists who object to big government and to admit that yes, indeed, they're Islamic extremists. The same will be true of these seemingly bizarre killings of school children.

I'm sure I'll be called a lunatic for suggesting this but the only obvious cause for these violent and heinous acts is that these people are trying to spare those children of miserable lives. Clearly, it's not their choice to make and obviously as Americans we can't imagine such a level of despair that we could even dream up such a "solution" but the more you understand about the actual standard of living in China, the more you'll see the likelihood of this scenario.

Special thanks to WAMK.

Depression for the USA?

People queue for a job fair in New York. The share of the US working-age population with jobs in June fell from 58.7pc to 58.5pc. The ratio was 63pc three years ago. Photo: EPA

With the US trapped in depression, this really is starting to feel like 1932

The US workforce shrank by 652,000 in June, one of the sharpest contractions ever. The rate of hourly earnings fell 0.1pc. Wages are flirting with deflation.

"The economy is still in the gravitational pull of the Great Recession," said Robert Reich, former US labour secretary. "All the booster rockets for getting us beyond it are failing."

"Home sales are down. Retail sales are down. Factory orders in May suffered their biggest tumble since March of last year. So what are we doing about it? Less than nothing," he said.

California is tightening faster than Greece. State workers have seen a 14pc fall in earnings this year due to forced furloughs. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is cutting pay for 200,000 state workers to the minimum wage of $7.25 an hour to cover his $19bn (£15bn) deficit.

Can Illinois be far behind? The state has a deficit of $12bn and is $5bn in arrears to schools, nursing homes, child care centres, and prisons. "It is getting worse every single day," said state comptroller Daniel Hynes. "We are not paying bills for absolutely essential services. That is obscene."

Roughly a million Americans have dropped out of the jobs market altogether over the past two months. That is the only reason why the headline unemployment rate is not exploding to a post-war high. More here - much more:

Woe is us. If only some super genius could have seen this coming.  This is gonna hurt all of us.  It's too bad that libs don't have to live with the pain of their policies instead of sharing with all of us.  Libs love to share, but they never share anything good.  Oh, they'll tell you they're sharing good stuff but I disagree -- their stuff sucks.

I can't wait until January when the tax hikes hit.  People are busy moving/shifting income into this year to avoid the tax increases.  What does that mean for next year?  If you can't figure it out, you'll probably be voting for libs and blaming Bush, big oil, evil corporations, etc etc.

Let's see, what did Omaba and Biden call this?  Oh yeah, ... "recovery summer." LMAO!

Gotta give Obama one thing -- he knows stupid-ass people when he sees them.

You'd cry too..

If you were so desperate to find something about which to care that you were compelled to have a hippygasm and then burst into tears. My favorite part? "What does it mean???" Well, I'd tell him but he'd probably call me a racist because it's just the diffraction of the sun's light in suspended water vapor. Yeah, but why is it round? Because your eyes are round. But a rainbow represents God's apology to us for the flood and his promise to never do it again. Uh yeah... no... God owes us nothing. We owe God everything. If they cared about stuff that mattered, they wouldn't get so emotional over stuff like rainbows. Fucking Libs.

Apple responds to threats of class action lawsuits regarding antenna strength.

Letter from Apple Regarding iPhone 4

Dear iPhone 4 Users,

The iPhone 4 has been the most successful product launch in Apple’s history. It has been judged by reviewers around the world to be the best smartphone ever, and users have told us that they love it. So we were surprised when we read reports of reception problems, and we immediately began investigating them. Here is what we have learned.

To start with, gripping almost any mobile phone in certain ways will reduce its reception by 1 or more bars. This is true of iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, as well as many Droid, Nokia and RIM phones. But some users have reported that iPhone 4 can drop 4 or 5 bars when tightly held in a way which covers the black strip in the lower left corner of the metal band. This is a far bigger drop than normal, and as a result some have accused the iPhone 4 of having a faulty antenna design.

At the same time, we continue to read articles and receive hundreds of emails from users saying that iPhone 4 reception is better than the iPhone 3GS. They are delighted. This matches our own experience and testing. What can explain all of this?

We have discovered the cause of this dramatic drop in bars, and it is both simple and surprising.

Upon investigation, we were stunned to find that the formula we use to calculate how many bars of signal strength to display is totally wrong. Our formula, in many instances, mistakenly displays 2 more bars than it should for a given signal strength. For example, we sometimes display 4 bars when we should be displaying as few as 2 bars. Users observing a drop of several bars when they grip their iPhone in a certain way are most likely in an area with very weak signal strength, but they don’t know it because we are erroneously displaying 4 or 5 bars. Their big drop in bars is because their high bars were never real in the first place.

To fix this, we are adopting AT&T’s recently recommended formula for calculating how many bars to display for a given signal strength. The real signal strength remains the same, but the iPhone’s bars will report it far more accurately, providing users a much better indication of the reception they will get in a given area. We are also making bars 1, 2 and 3 a bit taller so they will be easier to see.

We will issue a free software update within a few weeks that incorporates the corrected formula. Since this mistake has been present since the original iPhone, this software update will also be available for the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G.

We have gone back to our labs and retested everything, and the results are the same— the iPhone 4’s wireless performance is the best we have ever shipped. For the vast majority of users who have not been troubled by this issue, this software update will only make your bars more accurate. For those who have had concerns, we apologize for any anxiety we may have caused.

As a reminder, if you are not fully satisfied, you can return your undamaged iPhone to any Apple Retail Store or the online Apple Store within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.

We hope you love the iPhone 4 as much as we do.

Thank you for your patience and support.

Apple

LMAO. Basically, they're saying "if you don't like it, leave". I wish the U.S. would have the same attitude with all the Libs who do nothing but criticize and complain and try to sue at every possible opportunity. Apple products might be for Libs but they're certainly not by Libs and that's yet another reason to love the company.

Robert Byrd was NOT a racist - and Clinton isn't covering for him

"He once had a fleeting association with the Ku Klux Klan, what does that mean? I'll tell you what it means. He was a country boy from the hills and hollows from West Virginia. He was trying to get elected," former President Bill Clinton said of Sen. Robert Byrd. More here:

Yes, if by "fleeting association" you mean "full blown member with officer duties" then yes, he had a fleeting association.

Byrd joined the Ku Klux Klan in 1942 when he was 24. His local chapter unanimously elected him the top officer of its unit..

According to Byrd, a Klan official told him, "You have a talent for leadership, Bob ... The country needs young men like you in the leadership of the nation." Byrd later recalled, "suddenly lights flashed in my mind! Someone important had recognized my abilities! I was only 23 or 24 years old, and the thought of a political career had never really hit me. But strike me that night, it did."Byrd held the titles Kleagle (recruiter) and Exalted Cyclops.

In 1944, Byrd wrote to segregationist Mississippi Senator Theodore Bilbo:[17]
“ I shall never fight in the armed forces with a Negro by my side ... Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds. ”

— Robert C. Byrd, in a letter to Sen. Theodore Bilbo (D-MS), 1944,
From Wikipedia

Well, there's two things to learn and love about this whole thing.
1 - Democratics are never ... EVER, racists ... even if they are members of the KKK.
2 - Republicans are always racists no matter what.

Remember this little episode?:

Political controversy ensued following remarks Lott made on December 5, 2002 at the 100th birthday party of Sen. Strom Thurmond of South Carolina. Thurmond ran for President of the United States in 1948 on the Dixiecrat (or States' Rights) ticket. Lott said: "When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We’re proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all these problems over the years, either. More at Wikipedia:

Of course, Lott had to resign because he's not a Democratic ... he's a Republican and the media would have hounded him until he did so.  The reason it's perfectly ok to say what Clinton said is that he's a Democratic and, as such, cannot be a racist.  The media know this very well and won't say anything more about it.  'Nuff said - nudge nudge - wink wink.

Oh, let's not forget this little nugget by the "Democratic"  majority leader in the Senate, Harry Reid. (Bold is mine)

A book about the 2008 Obama campaign, ‘Game Change’ written by Time Magazine’s Mark Halperin and New York magazine’s John Heilemann is creating a proverbial political storm in Washington, D.C. The book airs the dirty-laundry of many in Obama’s inner political circles during his campaign for the Presidency. Among the revelations in the book (and there are many) is that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was anxious for Obama to run for president because he’s ‘light-skinned’ and ‘doesn’t have a Negro dialect unless he wants to’. From here

What?  This guy is a HUGE racist -- no, wait -- Ohhhhh, sorry -- he's a "Democratic" and, as such, is immune from being accused as a racist -- no matter WHAT he says.  The media will let him slide.

Anyway, I think we get the idea.  Only Republicans can be racists ... and let's face it, all of them are.

Mel Gibson -- hates juice AND naggers

In one of the most explosive, racist and vile outbursts by a celebrity ever caught on tape, Mel Gibson told the mother of his love child that the way she was dressed would get her "raped by a pack of n***ers," RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

It's a shocking and blockbuster development in the couple's bitter legal battle, and Mel's disgusting words are on audio tape. His racist, misogynist statement is one of the secrets lurking in his war with his former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. More here:

I sent this letter to Obama this morning

Dear President Obama,

I cannot believe that you want so many amnesties and increased immigration when we are experiencing record unemployment numbers. You need to help unemployed Americans by opposing amnesty and opposing unnecessary immigration increases, not championing them!

15 million Americans are out of work, and a further 10 million cannot find a full-time job, at a time when 8 million illegal aliens have jobs. Millions of American families are having trouble paying their mortgage and putting food on the table, but you seem to be more concerned with protecting individuals who have stolen American jobs and broken American laws.

Any comprehensive amnesty for illegal aliens is just plain wrong and goes against the wishes of the vast majority of the American people. 25 million Americans are either unemployed or cannot find a full-time job and they are depending on you to do the right thing and oppose amnesty. Why are you letting these Americans down by supporting amnesty?

Sincerely,
EK

The thing that cracks me up is that he can't tell the difference between an immigrant and a criminal ... can you imagine that?  And he's an ivy league genius.

Nancy Pelosi is a genius.

Whew, finally ... economic recovery is here

Don't you love it when Obama, Biden, and the MEDIA keep calling this "The recovery summer."

But ... while we're recovering:

Unemployment is going up.

Home sales are plunging (and the prices/your wealth with them.)

The value of our money is dropping and our "friends" at the United Nations are calling for dumping the dollar as the global reserve currency.

But in these hard economic times does Obama (and the Democrats) want to help you by stopping ILLEGAL aliens from taking your job? No ... Obama wants to give them amnesty (which he calls "immigration reform.") He probably assumes these people are "natural born Democrats" (and he needs to turn them into voters/citizens.)

I love how Obama decided to block new offshore drilling too. I love how he just put all those people out of work ... and didn't even blink. Not even a second thought. It's like he's crushing our economy on purpose.  And while he's blocking that he's doing everything he can to block drilling on land -- to block the production of coal -- to block nuclear power plants -- and on and on and on.

Let's see -- what could we do to make this even worse? Oh, right -- it's so obvious -- RAISE TAXES!!

In just six months, the largest tax hikes in the history of America will take effect. They will hit families and small businesses in three great waves on January 1, 2011: More here:

Oh woe is us -- we never saw this coming.  Who would have ever suspected Obama and the  Democrats would ruin our economy and raise our taxes at the same time -- all the while telling us how great the recovery is.

Happy Canada day?

Canada Day (French: Fête du Canada), formerly Dominion Day (French: Le Jour de la Confédération), is Canada's national day, a federal statutory holiday celebrating the anniversary of the July 1, 1867, enactment of the British North America Act (today called the Constitution Act, 1867), which united two British colonies and a province of the British Empire into a single British territory called Canada. Canada Day observances take place throughout Canada as well as internationally.

Frequently referred to as "Canada's birthday", particularly in the popular press, the occasion marks the joining of the British North American colonies of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and the Province of Canada into a federation of four provinces (the Province of Canada being divided, in the process, into Ontario and Quebec) on July 1, 1867. Canada became a kingdom in its own right on that date, but the British Parliament kept limited rights of political control over the new country that were shed by stages over the years until the last vestiges were surrendered in 1982 when the Constitution Act patriated the Canadian constitution.

I don't know about you but July 1st is eerily close to July 4th. Probably just a coincidence. I've also noticed another eerie coincidence in the proximity of Hanukkah to Christmas- weird, right? It's like when Circuit City opens a store a block away from Best Buy and we all know what happened there. We in the U.S. celebrate Independence Day with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, and concerts. Canada however, celebrates its "birthday" with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, and concerts. Probably just a coincidence.

We celebrate adopting the Declaration of Independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. This independence was earned by winning a war that lasted over 5 years.
Ultimately, the states collectively determined that the British monarchy, by acts of tyranny, could no longer legitimately claim their allegiance. They then severed ties with the British Empire in July 1776, when the Congress issued the Declaration of Independence, rejecting the monarchy on behalf of the new nation. The war ended with effective American victory in October 1781, followed by formal British abandonment of any claims to the United States with the Treaty of Paris in 1783.

The American Revolution initiated a series of social, political, and intellectual transformations in early American society and government. Americans rejected the oligarchies common in aristocratic Europe at the time, championing instead the development of republicanism based on the Enlightenment understanding of liberalism. Among the significant results of the revolution was the creation of a representative government responsible to the will of the people. However, sharp political debates erupted over the appropriate level of democracy desirable in the new government, with a number of Founders fearing mob rule.
That's a far cry from "celebrating the anniversary of the July 1, 1867, enactment of the British North America Act (today called the Constitution Act, 1867), which united two British colonies and a province of the British Empire into a single British territory called Canada."

It's no wonder Canada is infested with a whitebread, spineless cowards whose seemingly only goal in life is to zealously assert that Canada is superior to America at every opportunity- however slight.

Happy Canada Day to all my friends to the north but don't have too much to drink because your mother wants her apron and maid uniform cleaned and pressed by morning.

Biden (the genius) implies Republicans are Nazis

Vice President Biden is out with an alarmed e-mail cash appeal warning that the GOP will mount a “blitzkrieg” against Democrats in the fall.

Comparing GOP tactics to the fast-striking forces of Nazi Germany, Biden warns in a message sent by the DCCC today: “As things heat up, you can expect House Democrats will be hit with a GOP blitzkrieg of vicious Swift-Boat-style attack ads, Karl Rove-inspired knockout tactics, thinly veiled attempts at character assassination and tea party disruptions.” More here:

LOL -- he thinks the tea party is a "disruption."  We can only hope, huh boys?

Surely you can see how the Republicans are like Nazis.   Here are some of the ways:
1 - Republicans think the government to be as small as possible
2 - Republicans think the government should leave you alone
3 - Republicans want to reduce your taxes and give the government less money
4 - Republicans believe that the more money government has the more they can torment you.
5 - Republicans believe in private property rights and individual freedom

The Democrats though -- are very Democratic and aren't like the Nazi's at all.  For example:
1 - The Democrats look for every conceivable way/thing to tax
2 - The Democrats are always telling you how smart they are
3 - The Democrats love to demonize capitalism and "big" business (like BIG oil, BIG pharma, BIG tobacco, BIG insurance, BIG banking, ) -- yep, they hate anything "BIG" except government -- funny, huh?
4 - The Democrats love to tell you how to live your life:
--- You're disgusting if you smoke and we're going to tax the ever-loving-shit out of you
--- You're disgusting if you drink and we're going to tax the ever-loving-shit out of you
--- You're disgusting if you're fat and we're going to tax the ELS out of food you like
--- You're disgusting if you eat more salt than we approve of - and we're going to BLOCK you
--- Fast food is bad for you - we're going to mock you if you admit to eating fast food
---  I could go on and on and on -- you know -- like a genius Democrat -- like Biden.

Anyway, thanks, Biden ... for pointing out who the Nazi's are.  I'm not smart enough to think for myself.  I need "Democratics" to tell me how/what to think -- baaaaa -- bleat.

Yes, I refer to them as "Democratics."  You see, they HATE being called "The Democrat Party."  They INSIST on being called "The Democratic Party."  Why do you think that is?  I'll bet if you thought about it for more than 15 seconds you'd figure it out.

Anyway, from now on I'm going to call them "The Democratics" (at least for a while -- just to see if it puts  their Nazi  Knickers in a twist.)

A politically correct warrior isn't.

Returning from a mission, [a noncommissioned officer's] unit took casualties from an improvised explosive device that the unit knew had been placed no more than an hour earlier. “There were villagers laughing at the U.S. casualties” and “two suspicious individuals were seen fleeing the scene and entering a home.” U.S. forces “are no longer allowed to search homes without Afghan National Security Forces personnel present.” But when his unit asked Afghan police to search the house, the police refused on the grounds that the people in the house “are good people.”
