Tax Day Tea Party Myrtle Beach Style

On April 15, along with Myrtle Beach, there were over 850 Tea Parties hosted across the country. Now unless you surf the web quite frequently, chances are you didn't even know it was coming or possibly knew it happened. The media seemed to turn a blind eye to the event, giving it no more then a headline scrolled across the bottom of your screen. But that didn't stop 100's of thousands of people to gather across the country for a common cause, stop spending our money.

The fact that so many raised there voice's, should be a wake up call to those in Washington. But instead I'm sure we were looked at as wack jobs, hippies or dare I even say it Terrorist's. But you know what, if fighting for what you believe to be right for the people and the nation makes me a terrorist then so be it. I still think this is a great country, and the potential to make it even greater is there. But we need to start with the basics, the Constitution.

Thomas Jefferson once said, "On every question of construction, carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed." Words to live by. This document as old and dated as it is, is still our basis for a nation. The rights given to the individual, state and nation is pretty straight forward and should not be twisted in any other direction than intended, just to fit some agenda. We need to take back our government, we are the United states of America, not the Divided state of Congress. Take a stand and let your voice be heard. Send a letter to your Senator, Representative or even the President. Don't let this day fall to the way side and become a footnote in history books, make it a chapter.
