One man was killed and another seriously wounded in a shootout inside a Miami Burger King on Tuesday, officials said.
Police said a man wearing a ski mask walked into the store at Biscayne Boulevard and 54th Street and demanded money from a clerk.
A customer, who has a concealed weapons permit, pulled a gun, said Officer Jeff Giordano, a Miami police spokesman.
The customer and robber exchanged fire.
The robber was shot dead at the scene.
The customer, who had several gunshot wounds, was taken to Ryder Trauma Center in serious but stable condition, said Lt. Ignatius Carroll, a Miami Fire Rescue spokesman.
At about 4 p.m., officials got several 911 calls reporting people shot inside the Burger King. From here:
Note to the journalist:
When someone is shot dead in the commission of an armed robbery, they don't like to be called "armed robbers" in the news. They prefer "non-repeat criminal." It's much more sensitive and politically correct.
Also, I wonder if the brave customer had seen too many TV movies. I wonder if he told the robber to "drop it" or something. This is the stupidity of the liberals. Why do you have to "warn" a robber to drop a gun? I mean .... HE HAS A GUN ... it's not as if he might be just an innocent person who "just happened" to be pointing a gun at a store clerk ... you know ... by sheer accident. I say shoot him (preferably while he's not looking at you) or take your chances of being shot by a criminal jackass.
Now watch the libs put the customer on trial for his life. I can hear it now. "He was just stealing money. You scared him and made him shoot. It wasn't his fault."
What else could come out of this? The price of your lunch/dinner could go up. Why? Because when the ACLU gets done with this, Burger King will be sued for millions because they should have seen this coming and done something about it. Burger King, McDonalds, Wendys, etc will all have to put signs on the door - "no guns." Then they'll have to have the regional managers check these signs now and then to be sure they're up. They'll also have to pay for employee training so they can show the court they did all they could ...in case of another lawsuit. But it still won't be enough for the libs. They'll get sued next time too.
