Milton Friedman was an evil person who advocated for nothing less than global enslavement, which he disguised as a plan for freedom and prosperity. He spent his life as a whore for those who seek to enslave us all.
Nice to see that you censor comments, that makes you a likely propagandist since you can't have an open debate or accept a challenge. A propagandist and a cowardly one at that.
I "censor" the comments on posts that are more than two weeks old ... that is to say, I have to approve publishing them. It's helpful in controlling spam. But thanks for your thoughts, genius. It's obvious you know what you're talking about.
So according to you, Milton Friedman ... who wants to leave everyone alone and have a limited government (like the founders intended) ... he's EVIL ... wants to make us all slaves, right?
But the massive behemoth government which steals our money, drives us into debt, and shoves us around daily ... telling us what light bulbs to use, what toilets we can have in our house, driving fuel prices through the roof ... they are the guardians of LIBERTY!!
Right, good thinking you fucking dupe-nik.
I don't know if I watched these videos before, but I watched them today. I find it remarkable that it's so easy to make sense when you don't have a predisposed ideology.
Actually you are the fucked up moron who wants to pretend we are living in the 18th century with your "as the founders intened" BS - even they realized societies and countries change and evolve over times and that laws are interpreted differently as society changes. At that time only white land owning males could vote. Guess you want to go back to that since that's what the founders "intended". As for light bulbs and toilets - b/c a ban on incadescent bulbs doesn't mean you are living under tyranny. If you think that's tyranny you have no idea what tyranny is. And Friedman was whore for big money interests and nothing more.
Yes, meanwhile, who gives a damn what you think. All I want is for you idiot libs to leave me alone and let me be free ... but you won't. You can't. It's part of your nature.
Jefferson realized this and that's why he said the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of tyrants. He knew tyrants never view themselves as tyrants.
Anonymous- Just don't make the very ordinary mistake of letting your biased beliefs get in the way of recognizing the truth in what Mr. Friedman said.
You have no clue what you are talking about, they needed to install a ruthless dictator in every country where Friedman and his band of economic hit men tried their little experiment of neoliberalism. Not to be confused with social liberalism where they want government out of the private citizens personal life, neoliberalism or economic liberalism wants government out of corporations life, no regulations on employee safety, on wage, on pollution, on danger to the public. Neoliberalism is the economic model that the extreme right is backing yet most of their clueless followers know nothing about except the catch phrases. But the only way a completely privatized society works is when personal freedoms is stifled, look at when this economic model was forced on the various countries of south America, in each case a dictator had to be installed first.
First of all lmao @ your cubby holes "neoliberalism, social liberalism, economic liberalism etc etc." Pipe down you perpetual college wash-nik.
I have an idea, why don't you mind your own business and leave me alone? Why don't you go apply your genius "ideas" to yourself? Or do you REQUIRE my cooperation & money to implement YOUR ideas? When you require my money you require my labor ... just like a slave-master.
You see, I DO NOT need you (or your cooperation/money) to implement MY idea ... which is freedom. Isn't that funny?
I looked up "neoliberalism" just to make sure that my understanding of the term was accurate.
Neoliberalism is a market-driven[1] approach to economic and social policy based on neoclassical theories of economics that stresses the efficiency of private enterprise, liberalized trade and relatively open markets, and therefore seeks to maximize the role of the private sector in determining the political and economic priorities of the state. There is considerable ambiguity in whether the term refers to fiscal or monetary policies; to income distributive policies or to business cycle interventions; or even to degrees of political liberalization. As such, the term is not associated with any definite ideology and is usually used accusingly and derogatorily against others, rather than as a self-label.
Yep. I understood it correctly.
Anonymous's comment was unsurprisingly peppered with incendiary language such as "his band of economic hitmen" and "their little experiment". It's also unsurprising (okay... predictable) that Anonymous would use exaggeration and hyperbole rather than logic and fact to make his/her point. Neoliberalism does NOT want government "out of corporations [sic] life [sic], no regulations on employee safety, on wage, on pollution, on danger to the public", but that's just exactly what Liberals want you to believe.
It's much easier to argue against tyrannical monsters who are so extreme that they hold just such beliefs. It's much harder to argue against reasonable corporate entities who want to make a profit and realize that the best way to do so is to keep employees safe, pay them a fair wage, minimize pollution, and not endanger the public. Those guidelines are precisely how most corporations operate because it's the most profitable way to operate in the long run.
Once again, Liberals prefer the strawman attack to a logical and reasonable debate. Nice job, Anonymous.
Why is it that progressives and neocons both bitch about wanting freedom. Progressives prefer to be free to do what they want and neocons want to be free to inject their ideas of righteousness upon the rest of the world.
You can be free but I get to decide what freedoms you espouse.
@anonymous 10.29.11- you must be a Lib because you got that exactly wrong. Libs are adept at saying the opposite of the truth and hoping it sticks. Also, you're posting as Anonymous.
Funny how every country that's tried the "Friedman Experiment" ended up with increased poverty injustice, and eventually an economic collapse.
Well, if you say it's true, then that's it, right?
"Funny" how you libs just can't find it in your pea-brains to leave people alone. You think you're all big geniuses who MUST force your ideas on the poor, poor idiots.
"Funny how every country that's tried the "Friedman Experiment" ended up with increased poverty injustice, and eventually an economic collapse."
I'd prefer it if you'd back up your statement with specific facts rather than sweeping generalizations and absolute statements that can't possibly be accurate.
Evil-Klown... when it comes to Milton Friedman, you don't know your history and have no understanding of the Chicago school. Learn some history, then post informed comments. That's how adults play.
NEWSFLASH!!!! Anonymous5 posts anonymously making vague accusations with ambiguous sources to attempt to prove her point. Then she goes on to give indefinite direction followed by declaring a dubious yet condescending rule.
Well.done.
