Failure to break record

A Sri Lankan man has died while trying to set a record for the longest time spent buried alive, police said Monday.

Police said Janaka Basnayake, 24, buried himself over the weekend with the help of family and friends in a trench sealed with wood and soil in the town of Kantale, about 137 miles (220 kilometers) north of Sri Lanka's capital, Colombo. A local newspaper reported that the trench was 10 feet (3 meters) deep.

Basnayake was buried at around 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Police said that when he was brought to the surface at 4 p.m., he was unconscious and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. More here:

Yes, quite the mystery.  We all just have to accept it, life is strange ... sometimes unexplainable things happink.

The recent Rush Limbaugh kerfluffle

Bold is mine:

NEW YORK – A flower company is the seventh advertiser to pull its ads from conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh's radio program in reaction to his derogatory comments about a law student who testified about birth control policy.

ProFlowers said Sunday on its Facebook page that it has suspended advertising on Limbaugh's program because his comments about Georgetown University student Sandra Fluke "went beyond political discourse to a personal attack and do not reflect our values as a company."

The six other advertisers that say they have pulled ads from his show are mortgage lender Quicken Loans, mattress retailers Sleep Train and Sleep Number, software maker Citrix Systems Inc., online data backup service provider Carbonite and online legal document services company LegalZoom.

Limbaugh called the 30-year-old Fluke a "slut" and "prostitute" last week after she testified to congressional Democrats in support of national health care policies that would compel employers and other organizations, including her university, to offer group health insurance that covers birth control for women. More here:

Really?  Is that what happened?  He called her a slut and a prostitute?  No other explanation at all from this honest jourrrnalist?

Hmmmm, somehow I'm not sure I believe this jackass totally honest, objective, and forthright jourrrrnalist.  Let's just check up on this statement, shall we?  Here you go, judge for yourself.

Is he actually serious in calling her a "slut and prostitute?" Or was he just using the terms to invoke some humor and provoke looking at the whole thing from another angle?

It seems to me his position is that she wants other people (including me) to give her money because she is having sex (and doesn't want to get pregnant.)  Yes, I agree, it was a stretch for a joke that not even Limbaugh could make without breaking.  Still, do you think he was actually serious?  If so, you're a brainwashed sheep.

In this case though, I think Rush realized that he tried to stretch the concept too far for the "joke" and it didn't work, thus the apology.

And when Rush went ahead and apologized ... was is good enough?  Uh, not if you're a conservative.  Which cracks me up ... cuz the lefties are always calling for apologies but then, when they get one, it's not good enough ... so why do it?  Because sometimes it's the right thing to do.
Emboldened by Rush Limbaugh’s public apology over the weekend to a law school student whom he had called a “slut” and a “prostitute,” critics of the radio talk show host are intensifying their online campaign against his advertisers.
By the time he apologized, online protesters had been organizing for days on social networking Web sites and liberal hubs like Daily Kos. They called on companies like ProFlowers to remove their ads from “The Rush Limbaugh Show” and appeared to be having some success, as companies like Sleep Train said they had suspended advertising.More here:
I know business is business and I don't blame these businesses one bit for pulling out of the show.  However, you have to ask yourself ... why were they there in the first place?  Trying to attract lefties?

I mean, I'm sure the righties don't care about this ... only the mainstream media gives a damn.  And they will encourage/inflame the lefties against the righties for any reason any time it is possible to do so.  And I ask myself, are these companies interested in right and wrong -- or are they willing to shed their principles for some temporary money? (Assuming they had any principles.)

So here's the call.  This whole "kerfluffle" is a creation of the media.  It'll be gone in a couple of days ... why?  Because even the expert lefties can only keep on with the phony outrage for so long.  Plus, it's not as if the media won't throw them another bone soon.

Gee, I wonder if Rush will have a tough time selling the ad space. I'm thinking "Pull your finger out of a bucket of water and see the hole it leaves." If I were Rush, I wouldn't allow those jackass companies back on (unless I was contractually obligated, of course,)  One thing is for sure, I won't be buying a gd thing from the following companies.

And here's the call with this kind of bullshit.  The lefties are very organized.  Notice the company is responding to "tweets" for chrissakes.  More like "Twitts."
Apparently Sleep Train's customers had been providing input to the retailer via Twitter. A brief Tweet posted on Friday thanked customers for their "concern and input," and added "We are currently pulling all ads with Rush Limbaugh." More here:
Now, do you see any "righty" groups organized to send tweets and engage in other nonsense in order to display phony outrage, get a lefty fired from his/her job ... or just make life in general difficult for them?  No, because righties know the difference between right and wrong ... and further, they make an effort to actually do the right thing.

Perhaps we need to get better at organizing and fighting these people ... you know ... when we're not at work.

Once again ... these companies withdrew in order to make the lefties happy ... so let them depend on the lefties for their business.

Awesome parenting skills here - his daughter must be so proud

WINTHROP (CBS) — Medway-Ashland’s girls high school hockey team lost their appeal of their playoff loss Friday, after a parent was tossed from the game for aiming a laser pointer into the eyes of their goalie.

Winthrop beat Medway-Ashland 3-1 on Wednesday at Larsen Rink. The score was tied 1-1 in the third period when the father of a Winthrop player was caught pointing the laser at the Medway-Ashland goalie.

"It’s kind of like when you look at the sun and then you look away you see that spot and you can’t see for a couple of seconds. You shake your head and try to get it out of the system and just keep focusing, but it’s difficult,” Medway-Ashland goalie Kathryn Hamer told WBZ-TV.

Winthrop assistant superintendent Lisa Howard went into the stands and ordered the parent out of the arena.

Winthrop will play Braintree as scheduled Saturday.

I included the sentence above because ... "Braintree?" How would you like to say you attend "Braintree" school? Why didn't they make it "Braintree-Got Rocks School?"

Winthrop superintendent John Macero said the father has been barred from all events involving Winthrop High School.

“I don’t know what the person was thinking,” Macero told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 Friday. More here:

You don't?  Let me help you.  This cheater was interested in his daughter's team "appearing" to win ... not in actually winning ... just the appearance of winning ... because, to an idiot lib, it's the same thing as winning.  That's why he did it, no mystery at all.

I feel sorry for the daughter ... can you imagine having to go to school after that?  I hope she's got good self-esteem ... and not the fake "entitled" self-esteem that lib parents instill into their offspring ... I'm talking about the earned kind.  If not, this will be an excellent opportunity for her to hone some.

Disgusting Tea Party protesters go violent ... rob victim

OAKLAND (CBS SF) — Three Occupy Oakland protesters have been charged with robbery and hate crimes for an incident at a bank action on Feb. 22, police said.

The three protesters allegedly encountered a woman walking in the 4000 block of Piedmont Avenue while protesting at the Wells Fargo bank at 151 40th St.

The woman told police that the protesters were calling for a riot and she told the protesters not to riot in her neighborhood.

The three protesters then allegedly surrounded her yelling and battering her and calling her slurs based on their perception of her sexual orientation, police said.

Her wallet was taken during the incident, police said, before she broke away from the group and called police. More here:

Oops, I apologize ... it wasn't Tea Party people, it was the "Occupy" people with the violence, destruction, and general infliction of themselves on polite society ... again.  Beg pardon ... easy mix-up.

MYFOXNY.COM - A chaotic scene unfolded outside Middle School 72 in Jamaica, Queens, on Wednesday night as several men who wanted to attend a tutorial workshop for the upcoming FDNY entrance exam were turned away.

These men said it was because they were white. The Workshop was being hosted by the Vulcan Society, a fraternal organization of black firefighters, which apparently only let in people who got a special e-mail.

Fox 5 spoke to a few people who were turned away. They didn't want to be identified, but they said it appeared that only African-American hopefuls were admitted to the event.

A federal judge has ruled the FDNY discriminated in hiring and ordered reforms. But these candidates said they are being unfairly punished. More here:

Descrating of Qurans causes tight turbans and wadded pajamas

Five U.S. soldiers allegedly misinterpreted orders on disposing of Qurans they had confiscated from prisoners at a detention camp near Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan, the Los Angeles Times is reporting, citing anonymous officials.

Several of the enlisted men, who have not been identified publicly, are expected to be disciplined as a result of the destruction of the Islamic holy book last month, two officials familiar with the findings of a military investigation told the Times.

The burning of Qurans, which U.S. officials have said was accidental, triggered a violent backlash. More than 30 people have died in rioting and six U.S. military personnel have been killed, prompting evacuations of Western military and civilian advisers and envoys. More here:

I see, so they've got their turbans all tightened up because the soldiers "desecrated" the Qurans.

So let me ask this ... is writing in the Qurans considered "desecrating?"  What about using the "holy book" for purposes like passing notes to your fellow prisoners?  You know, using your religion to hide nefarious activity ... is this "desecration?"

Because isn't this exactly what the prisoners were doing?  Yes, they were using them to pass notes to their fellow jihadis desecrating them.  I guess that's perfectly ok though, right?

These people get all indignant about being holy but they toss bombs and then run and hide in their mosques.  Hypocrite much?  I say screw them.

However, I have to ask the person(s) in charge ... what are you doing hiring and paying your enemies?  The enemy shouldn't have been anywhere NEAR that place.

"But Klown, these weren't enemies, they were just local workers.  And we hire them to promote good relations between the US and Afghanistan"

Yes, working well isn't it? But just to show you there's no hard feelings, I'll keep calling them enemies.

Ok for cops to be let off for DUI ... not ok for YOU though .. YOU have to pay

Earlier, around 2 a.m., the Niles officer stopped the off-duty Dailey for speeding and failing to stop at a red light, McCarthy said. The suburban officer suspected Dailey was intoxicated, officials said, and Dailey, who announced he was a Chicago Police officer, allegedly admitted he’d been out drinking.

The Niles officer then told Dailey he couldn’t stay behind the wheel and offered several options of how he could get home, McCarthy said.

Dailey refused all suggestions but finally agreed to call a cab from the Traveler’s motel across the street, McCarthy said.

While in the motel’s vestibule, Dailey was spotted making a call on his cell phone before he went back to the suburban officer and asked if he could drive himself home, McCarthy said.

The Niles officer, parked at a gas station, repeated that it wasn’t safe for Dailey to drive so Dailey went back to the motel, saying he would make arrangements for a ride, McCarthy said. Again, Dailey dialed his cell phone, McCarthy said.

A short time later, the Niles police officer heard about a 50-person bar fight at the Cheers bar on his police radio, McCarthy said.

Several officers were dispatched to the scene and many squad cars were traveling at a high rate of speed to get to the bar swiftly, McCarthy said.

Niles police eventually traced the 911 calls about the bar fight to Dailey’s cell phone, McCarthy said.
Dailey allegedly maintained he was getting phone calls from others about the scuffle and had seen the fight.

But a review of Dailey’s cell phone records show the only calls made to the Niles dispatch center at the time came from Dailey’s mobile, McCarthy said. More here:

What a crock of shit.  If this had been you, you'd be going to jail ... probably getting fired  from your job ... losing about $10,000 over the next few years in increases on your insurance ... and mo' besides. But hey, you're a witch, so you deserve it ... pipe down, witch.

On Wednesday police in Waterloo, Ont., arrested Jessie Sansone, 26, a resident of nearby Kitchener, when a teacher at his daughter's school voiced concern over the drawing, Insp. Kevin Thaler of Waterloo Regional Police told Postmedia News.

The school contacted Family and Children's Services, which then called police, said Thaler.

During questioning, Thaler said the child, along with her siblings, provided police with a "detailed description" of a gun that was stored in the home and was accessed by the children.

"The kids were scared," said Thaler. "It is a four-year-old that we're taking the information from, but the fact is that this disclosure was very descriptive and very alarming to the officers investigating this."

It was a typical day for Sansone, who had no idea when he arrived at Forest Hills school to pick up his children, including four-year-old daughter Neaveh, that three police officers were waiting to arrest him.

Informed he was under arrest for possession of a firearm, Sansone said he never was told the details of why he was being arrested.

Thaler said the arrest was made "because it was the end of a school day."

"The officers' concern was . . . the need to secure and locate the firearm," he said.

While he sat in a police cell, Sansone said officers took his wife, Stephanie, who is pregnant, and his four children to the station for more questioning.

At some point during the investigation, police became aware that the gun was a toy pistol, information that was confirmed when they found it in the family's home later that day, said Thaler.

"The child had every belief it was real," said Thaler. "The indication from the kids was that it was dad's (gun)."
Sansone denied that his children thought the gun was real or belonged to him.

"It's a toy pistol," he said. "It's completely transparent. It doesn't even resemble a real gun, at all." More here:

Democratic Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper introduced his lieutenant governor, Joe Garcia, as a “sex star” at an elementary school literacy event and quickly amended his remark, saying he meant to call him a sex “symbol.”

According to the Denver Post, the event was held at Colfax Elementary School in Denver before about 40 children. “Now I get to introduce that rising sex star — symbol. I mean, symbol — not star,” said

Hickenlooper, according to audio captured by the radio station KOA. “This might go down as one of my most difficult press conferences in the history of the office.” From here

Ok, everyone who thinks it's appropriate to mention sex at an elementary school, raise your hand?  Anyone ... Anyone?  Bueller?

And I always love it when the media proudly refers to Democrats as "Democratic."  Cracks me up.  As if mob rule is desirable.  Idiots.

Dog attacks police .. I hope it wasn't a pit bull

ST. PETERSBURG, Florida (AP) - A police officer shot and killed a dog while responding to a disturbance call in a St. Petersburg neighborhood.

Police say Officer Jeremy Hayes fired three times at the dog Thursday afternoon when it charged at him. The dog, named Phero, died on the sidewalk.

The Tampa Bay Times reports police described the dog as a pit bull terrier.

The newspaper reports police were called after an argument broke out between two people who lived near Vachon at the apartment complex. It was not known how the dog got out. More here:

Tsk.  More bad luck ... this just perpetuates the false reputations of pit bulls.

I'll take some

TOKYO – Japanese researchers have invented a speech-jamming gadget that painlessly forces people into silence.

Kazutaka Kurihara of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, and Koji Tsukada of Ochanomizu University, developed a portable "SpeechJammer" gun that can silence people more than 30 meters away.

The device works by recording its target's speech then firing their words back at them with a 0.2-second delay, which affects the brain's cognitive processes and causes speakers to stutter before silencing them completely. More here:

The libs - they hate Sheriff Joe Arpaio - HATE HIM

This crazy old sheriff ... he locks up criminals in tent cities in Phoenix Arizona ... where it's often over 110 degrees in the daytime ... libs hate that.

He makes criminals wear pink underwear ... libs hate that.

He feeds the criminals bologna sandwiches ... libs hate that.

He tries to arrest illegal aliens ... libs hate that.

Yep, the libs hate just about everything about Sheriff Joe.  And since they hate him, they think everyone should hate him.  He had a press conference recently ... about Obama's birth certificate ... and while I think this whole area of "investigation" is a waste of time I was reading the article and ran across something interesting.

Activists protested outside of the auditorium where Sheriff Arpaio held his press conference, accusing him of running a corrupt department. A few miles away, outside the Phoenix main library branch, a man was collecting signatures to back Lt. Mike Stauffer, a Scottsdale police officer and a Republican who is challenging Sheriff Arpaio in the upcoming election.

“We hate him here,” the man gathering signatures said of Sheriff Arpaio. More here:
I love how the media always refer to these peeps as "activists."  If it were me, I'd replace the word "activist" with "idiots."

However, if you're a conservative, you can't be an activist ... no ... instead you're a Nazi or a "hate group."

Anyway, back to the "activist" and his "we hate him here" statement.  Uh, isn't that inaccurate ... if not an outright lie?  I call it a lie because, the fact is, the sheriff keeps getting elected right?  So how is the statement "we hate him here" not just blatant idiocy?

I find it funny how the jourrrrnalist felt it necessary to include the "acccccctivist's" position but not the position of the electorate ... which keeps electing him.  And just how popular is the sheriff?

Election results from here:

Yeah ... "we hate him here."  The jourrrrnalist should have responded with a "shut up you idiot."

With libs, hate means never wanting to stop hating

Sarah Palin’s SuperPAC — SarahPAC — is out with a new video that directly takes on HBO’s forthcoming movie, “Game Change,” which the former Alaska governor has alleged is based on a “false narrative.”

Palin’s two-and-a-half-minute video, dressed up as a mock movie trailer, is titled “Game Change we can believe in.” "HBO Fiction” gets jumbled to read “BHO Fiction,” an apparent reference to the president’s initials. The trailer splices together a series of laudatory statements about Palin said by McCain strategists Steve Schmidt and Nicolle Wallace during the 2008 campaign - a clear pushback to the doubts expressed by Schmidt and Wallace’s characters in the upcoming HBO film.  More here:

Ok, here's the story.  HBO is making this movie to make Sarah Palin look bad ... yes, I knew you'd be shocked.  In the article you also find out that many of the actors etc donated a lot of money to Obama ... yes, another shocker.

But, you have to ask yourself ... why are they doing it?  To make money?  Hmmmm.

And what does HBO say the movie is about?
... the film, which debuts on March 10, focuses squarely on the McCain campaign’s decision to pick then Gov. Sarah Palin as its vice presidential nominee and the subsequent internal strife and frustration that resulted for all parties involved. More here:
Ok, YAWNNNN.

In order to make money, lots of people will have to give a damn about why John McCain picked Sarah Palin as a running mate and I don't think anyone cares.

I think there are three reasons for this film.
1 - People in the entertainment industry (in general) hate conservatives ... but they hate Sarah Palin the most.  I've NEVER seen the flock bleat louder them hate someone more.
2 - They think there are plenty of morons out there who will pay to keep their hatred of Sarah Palin fresh.  That's right ... for a lib there's nothing like a good hate-on.
3 - They are convinced someone might ask her to be VP again so they are trying to keep brainwashing the sheep ... as if sheep had brains ... maybe I should call it brainstem washing.

Idiot libs about to be taken by surprise - again

Forget the modest 3.1 percent rise in the Consumer Price Index, the government's widely used measure of inflation. Everyday prices are up some 8 percent over the past year, according to the American Institute for Economic Research.

The not-for-profit research group measures inflation without looking at the big, one-time purchases that can skew the numbers. That means they don't look at the price of houses, furniture, appliances, cars, or computers. Instead, AIER focuses on Americans' typical daily purchases, such as food, gasoline, child care, prescription drugs, phone and television service, and other household products.

The group maintains that this index better measures the real-world impact of price changes, particularly for people on a budget. And, largely as the result of the recent run-up in gas prices, this "everyday price index" (EPI) suggests that Americans are being pinched far more tightly than the official inflation measure would have you believe. More here:

Oh really?  What next?  We find out that unemployment is closer to 20%?  Well we'll all be shocked, won't we.  What we need is the government geniuses idiot-libs solving more of our problems for us ... they're doing just great so far.

Anyway, it's not really fair to blame them totally for this inflation ... after all, all the geniuses said there was nothing to fear.  If only ... IF ONLY there were some clairvoyant, all-knowing, all seeing being out there who could have warned us.  OH, WOE IS US!!!!

Hmmm, turns out there's more than one great genius in the world.

The developed economies of the world have opened the money spigots, hardly the policy response one would expect if there were truly signs of an economic recovery underway.

The massive money and credit creation is sitting in the banking system like dry tinder just waiting for a spark to set it ablaze. How quickly it happens is anyone’s guess, but once it does we are likely to be enveloped in a worldwide inflation unlike anything before ever witnessed. More here:
Once again, this is the "thing" with idiot-libs.  They force you to go along with their "policies."  And then you have to pay the consequences when they inevitably and spectacularly fail.  And then the libs refuse to accept responsibility ... claiming there is no "linkage."

And this is the crux of the biscuit ... why do they have to claim "no linkage?"  Think about it.  First of all, if they weren't FORCING you to comply with their ideas, they would have no reason to claim "no linkage" because it wouldn't matter, would it?  No, it wouldn't ... there would be no argument in the first place.

But what's the bottom line?  the bottom line is they MUST include you in their plans and policies .. they refuse to leave you alone ... and you're supposed to keep quiet about it.  If you object to them forcing you to go along with their idiocy then they label you a stupid, greedy, racist and the media goes right along with them.

That's right ... if you want to be left alone, you are a stupid, greedy, racist. If you want to force others to conform to your will then you are a selfless, compassionate genius, worthy of respect and praise.

Why can't the great genius libs ever do anything on their own?  Why can't they ever point to their success and say "see, do it our way ... it's your choice but you can see the results of our way?"

No, they never do that, do they?  Instead they force you ... they steal your money and liberty under the guise of "saving the planet" or something ... but it's always a good reason, isn't it ... supported by all the "scientists."  Yes, their reason for stealing your freedom is always very "science-tific."

Caught a witch stealing stuff off gravesites ... a WITCH!!

Bold is mine:

AMADOR COUNTY (CBS13) – A registered sex offender has been arrested after sheriff’s detectives say he was stealing items from a cemetery and giving them away to neighbors as gifts.

Earlier this month, the Amador County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a man was stealing mementos and flowers from grave sites and from the mausoleum at Sunset View Cemetery in Jackson.

Amador County Sheriff’s detectives identified the subject as a registered sex offender Jimmy Ray Goodall, 59, of Linden and formerly of Amador County. More here:

The entire article is nine paragraphs long and they mention "sex offender" three times.  Interesting.

You know what else is interesting?  They never say what he actually did to earn the new witch-title of "sex offender." No, sheep, you don't need to know all the facts.

That's right, they lump all kinds of things under that heading, from rapists to peeps who engage in mooning.  That way, whenever they mention "sex offender" you'll think "witch" and get your panties in all KINDS of wads ... like a good sheep.

Meanwhile, this guy just looks like a creep to me.
