The New York Times called this a "Hateful Film"

In classic Lib fashion, the NYT describes the truth as inciteful and hateful. Even though this film clearly states that muslims are not the concern- only that radical islamists are, the NYT and their ilk choose to lump them all into one group just as they do for every minority. For them, it's never about judging individuals on their individual merits and individual character, it's about judging a group or defending a group universally. Something tells me they were busy trying to impress their colleagues rather than paying attention when MLK spoke.

Life in the echo chamber is like a group of cool kids skipping class to go do something... cool while one of them stays behind and takes notes for them all to share later. Of course, the stay-behind is so busy daydreaming about what her friends are doing that she never really pays attention to what's said, doesn't have the capacity to understand it, and decides that it doesn't really fit what she knows to be the truth. For any or all of these reasons, she and her group believe it as gospel and base all of their resulting beliefs and ideas on a badly tainted resource.

From there, the malformed idea takes on a life of its own and soon enough, there's a large following with poisoned minds insisting that their way is not only the right way, but also the only way. Because thinking about its veracity is too difficult or too painful, the find it easier to shout their arguments, ignore logical arguments with which they disagree, and when all else fails, throw food.

The New York Times, quoting the radical Islamic organization CAIR, has lambasted the NYPD for using the critically-acclaimed documentary The Third Jihad: Radical Islam's Vision for America in counterterrorism training. The Times published two news articles (First, Second), an editorial entitled "Hateful Film" and a virulently anti-NYPD OP-ED all within a week. The articles were filled with inaccuracies and definitely had a pro-CAIR, anti-NYPD slant.
