It's called, officially, the "XM25 Counter DefiladeTarget Engagement System." Let's say you were approaching an enemy hidden behind a wall or around a corner of a building, about 200 yards away. This grenade launcher will laser measure the exact distance to the target, and then you can program the grenade at what distance to detonate. Fire above the guy behind the wall, have the grenade go off 5 feet past him, and... problem solved. Amazing piece of technology to keep us ahead of the bad guys.
