Last fall, Speaker Nancy Pelosi moved her district office into the new federal building in San Francisco. The move quadrupled the rent she pays, and her new $18,736 monthly bill is almost double the next-highest rental paid by a Member of the House. More here
Ha ha, these politicians squander your money. And when they "run out" they squander your kids' money, and when they "run out" of that they squander your grandkids' money. It kills me. They don't give one flaming damn.
Hey Nancy, GREAT NEW DIRECTION for America. I hear Greece and Europe are going in the same direction. WOO HOO!! Keep spending with abandon though, no worries, people in San Francisco are too stupid to boot your ass.

You don't understand. She needs the extra space since she's the Speaker of the House at what is perhaps the most important and historical time in the history of the U.S.
Of course, once she gets the boot in 2012, she'll keep the extra space because well, you know.
I remember a Fed. judge in Phila. that was assigned to review one of my case files involving search warrant approval. He was on the 3rd or 4th floor and when I returned approx. 1 month later he was on the 15 16th ? floor. I brought up the move and he informed me it was so he could watch the ships on the Delaware river from this floor. This was no small office with a number of law clerks, receptionists, law library, break rooms and his private office was 3 times the size of my living room. The best part all decisions were made by the law clerk. What a waste of our money and it continues on and on.
She needs the extra space to hold all that Botox she uses.
