I have to go on record as agreeing with the "yuck" on Krispy Kreme. I never saw the attraction.
When I moved to Chelsea, I was very super excited that there was a Krispy Kreme store just a block and a half away. I lived there for 9 years and visited Krispy Kreme twice. The second time was "just in case" the first time was a lark.
