WASHINGTON (AP) - Attorney General Eric Holder described the United States Wednesday as a nation of cowards on matters of race, saying most Americans avoid discussing unresolved racial issues. Uh, no shit, white peeps are sick and tired of being called racist (witch) at the drop of a fucking hat. Not wanting to lose our jobs or position in society, or provoke unnecessary hard feelings makes us chickenshits.
In a speech to Justice Department employees marking Black History Month, Holder said the workplace is largely integrated but Americans still self-segregate on the weekends and in their private lives. Speaking entirely for myself, I "segregate" myself from trouble- causing jackasses, of both colors, as much as possible.
"Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards," said Holder, nation's first black attorney general. Well, correct me if I'm wrong here but discussing "race" usually makes the white person wrong in the eyes of the media. Any little thing can be misconstrued and misrepresented leading to the loss of your livelihood. We've seen it over and over and we've finally "learned." Again, speaking for myself, I don't have the slightest interest in fighting, what is certainly to be, a losing battle.
Race issues continue to be a topic of political discussion, Holder said, but "we, as average Americans, simply do not talk enough with each other about race."
He urged people of all races to use Black History Month as a chance for frank talk about racial matters. Speaking for myself, I think "Black History Month" is a crock of shit. Remember the melting pot you talked about a couple of paragraphs ago? How much does "Black History Month" cost? Is it free?
"It is an issue we have never been at ease with and, given our nation's history, this is in some ways understandable," Holder said. "If we are to make progress in this area, we must feel comfortable enough with one another and tolerant enough of each other to have frank conversations about the racial matters that continue to divide us." More here:
Hey, Mr. Holder, I'm tired of talking about race ... it's the media and people like you that keep wanting to talk about race. I'm over it. If you want people to be equal, then let them be equal. Let the racists be racists ... they're ALWAYS going to be racists. Enough with them. Let's just let the chips fall where they fall. Oh, and let's also be brave enough to ignore (leave out) the facts of rampant black crime, anti-social behavior (not trying to melt in,) and speaking with a heavy idiot accent (think, "baby-daddy.") Is that frank enough for you?
