Update - Berkeley tree sitters

The short story:

So -- you might recall, about a month ago, the cops cut off the supply lines to the tree sitters. The college agreed to give them energy bars and water but that's all they've had to eat for a month.

Well, a couple of days ago, I guess the cops got complacent because some supporters strung a rope across a street and smuggled in a couple of more sitters and a bunch of food.

I mean -- WTF? The cops just took down all their supply ropes a month ago. How do you put in a month long effort and then lose all your work because the cops weren't watching? If they're going to do this, why is the city wasting money by putting the cops there in the first place?

Seriously, only in California could something this stupid be taking place.
