Al Gore walks the walk

In the interest of keeping posts fair and balanced, here's a video with Tom Brokaw interviewing Al Gore. We all know that Al Gore was spreading the word about global warming while living in an over-sized, energy-inefficient home. All the while, President Bush had been energy-efficient all along (without self-promotion or fanfare).

In this video, Al Gore explains that once word got out, he retrofitted his home to be more energy efficient. Whether or not this is true has yet to be determined, but here's the video.

My point here is that we all can improve our energy use. Just because we've wasted it in the past, we don't have to keep wasting it. I'm no tree-hugger, but I've always been energy conscious (mostly due to poverty).

deceiver.com is a little harder on Mr. Gore here.

They're probably closer to the mark than I. But I'm an eternal optimist so what can I say?
