I Know How She Does It.

She doesn't know how she does it. Evidently, other people have remarked that they don't know how she does it. But I know how she does it!

She takes on way more than she can handle so that when she inevitably decides that she's had enough and wants to do exactly what she damn well wants to do, she can blurt, "LISTEN! I'VE BEEN LIVING IN A 100 YEAR OLD HOUSE WITH MY HUSBAND AND FOUR CHILDREN WHO RANGE IN AGE FROM ONE TO SEVENTEEN! I'VE AUTHORED A BOOK! I'M A FREELANCE WRITER AND DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL MEDIA AT A PUBLIC RELATIONS FIRM! IF I WANT TO TAKE THE NIGHT OFF AND IGNORE MY FAMILY'S NEEDS FOR ONE NIGHT I'M GOING TO GD WELL DO IT AND SHUT YOUR PIE HOLE IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT IT!"

Meanwhile, nowhere does it state that her house isn't a shit hole. Nowhere does it state that she's happily married nor that her children are happy (or even healthy). Nowhere does it state that her book is critically acclaimed or even any good at all. Nowhere does it state that she's either a paid freelance writer or a good freelance writer. Nowhere does it state what a Director of Social Media does or whether it's an accomplished or worthwhile PR firm. It does state, however that she's ignorant of how she does it.

This is where I step in to help. She and her life are an overinflated, self-important pile of crap. Clearly, she's going for quantity over quality here. I see it happen time and time again. Rather than doing one thing well, people spread themselves so thin just so they can proclaim, "I DO IT ALL".

The painful truth is that they don't do any of it well. They figure that like someone trying to pull the wool over the eyes of the help at the hotel that they'll remember the frequency of the tips and not the quality of the tips. (I know- Liberals are very proud of the fact that they never tip at hotels. Thanks for sharing.) The truth of the matter though is that nobody says anything about your overdoing it because they don't want you to burst into a million bloody, body temperature pieces of human flesh as your whole world comes caving in around you.

Yes, you are doing it all and you're wasting your time and your life doing it. You will never matter to anyone the moment you die and you'll leave as much impression on the world as the last impression I made on the last puddle into which I stepped. Congratulations.

I don't remember how I came across this blogette but she talks ad nauseum about her oldest child's long running problems with drug addiction (aka lack of self-control but as she calls it "a disease"). She also talks about how when he started smoking pot at 14 years old, she mostly ignored it because he was just experimenting and all kids his age are doing it.

She explains that just like every Lib parent out there, she elected to stand idly by and try to be a friend to her child instead of being a parent. She chose excessive permissiveness instead of appropriate rules, guidelines and restrictions which would have kept her child as safe as can be reasonably expected. Now she's paying the price by watching her son in a hospital bed trying to recover from his latest overdose. Of course, she goes on and on about how difficult this has been for her without much mention at all of what he might be experiencing. Again, this is classic Lib behavior- it goes against their nature to acknowledge that the individual who is actually suffering is any worse off that the Lib herself.

If you have the time, read the link and pay particular attention to the comments where the "I'm OK, You're OK" club chime in to share her misery and let her know that their hearts bleed for her. One or two might mention a prayer for her son but you'll have to read carefully to find any. Remember- she's the one who's taking on more than she can handle. She's the one who has to deal with a son who's had an overdose. She's the one who has to deal with the fact that chronically selfish and immature behavior on her part led her directly into the situation she's in today.

I'm surprised that she didn't proclaim, "I'm not going to let this get me down because I'm not a VICTIM!" because damn right you're not a victim. You're the cause of all your problems. Nobody else is to blame, honey. Of course, this truism goes for the rest of you too.

CBS/AP) Golf Channel reporter Win McMurry replaced an "s" with a "c" during a broadcast on Sunday when describing Tiger Woods' withdrawal from the last round of The Players Championship due to a bulging disk. "(Woods) says he's been playing with a bad neck for about a month and thinks it could be a bulging dick," said the blonde (LIKE THAT MATTERS) broadcaster. She quickly corrected which part of the golfer's anatomy was bulging.

I'd call that a "Freudian slip." Or maybe just honesty. For the record - she is blonde - and pretty hot.

The International Monetary Fund ... the IMF.  That means our tax money will go to bail out more irresponsible dipsticks ,,, and then it will flush down the toilet when they inevitably continue down the same path.  Just like California ... we'll bail them out and bail them out and they'll never learn ... because, why should they?  And when I say "them," I'm talking about irresponsible people/governments.

Remember when we had to bail out Fannie-Mae due to its irresponsible behavior?  How do you think that worked? WASHINGTON (AP) - Fannie Mae has again asked taxpayers for more money after reporting a first-quarter loss of more than $13 billion. Oh my, what a shocker to really stupid STUPID people.

I started thinking about this and how the saying "socialism doesn't work because you eventually run out of other people's money."  Well, what about when they run out of other people's money and then borrow on other people's credit?  This is what they are doing.  We don't have the money to be bailing people out ... we're in debt up to our eyeballs as it is.    Right now, 10 cents of every dollar you give the government goes to paying interest on the debt ... and they're borrowing money faster than ever in history.

Of course, a depression will only affect the evil rich, right?  I've been wondering lately ...how far they can drive us into debt before the economy collapses completely and/or another revolution starts.  I sure hope we don't have to find out.

Detroit Free Press editor caught on tape vandalizing $5M pedestrian link in Detroit, span marred less than 24 hrs after it opened

Good grief. The Gateway Project in downtown Detroit is a huge construction project that affords pedestrians easy access to the Ambassador Bridge to Canada. Part of the project is a $5 million span called the Mexicantown Bagley Avenue Pedestrian Bridge. Less than one day after it opened, it was totally vandalized by spray paint and carving of bench wood. One of the vandals was caught on tape and is a Detroit Free Press copy editor! From The Detroit News, which until not long ago was owned by the same liberal media group that owns the freep (see update #3 at the bottom of this post): Vandals mar new pedestrian bridge in Detroit. Check out this video of who we learn later is the freep copy editor, and note that she says "I shouldn't do that" as the camera approached her (I suspect she saw it coming from her peripheral vision):

"Email From the Utah Tea Party: Term Limits Began Today." Explained.

So Instapundit posted this yesterday and I couldn't figure out exactly what he meant. I googled the expression and only found a slew of reblogs without any further explanation. Maybe the meaning is so obvious to everyone that there's no need to explain it but I asked a few cogs I know and since they weren't 100% sure either, I started to dig for a definitive answer.

The Term Limit for a U.S. Senator is "unlimited 6-year terms". In other words, they can be re-elected any number of times for 6 years at a time. This is contrasted to the Term Limit for a U.S. President which limited to two 4-year terms. [This is a simplification of the actual Term Limits].

The Utah Tea Party evidently sent out a one line email saying, "Term Limits Began Today."

Evidently, what they meant is that incumbent Senator Robert Bennett was not re-elected for a fourth term in Utah Republican Primary. The Tea Party movement has taken credit for defeating him.

Bennett, 76, is the first incumbent to lose his party's support this year. He spent 18 years in the Senate.

Bennett was under attack for supporting the bailout of financial firms and co-sponsoring a health care bill with a Democrat.

I'm Not Going To Spend Much Time On This One.

I just want to gripe a second about the nature of this post I found on TYWKIWDBI. The truth is that in essence, I agree that treating inmates like animals doesn't do a gd thing to "rehabilitate" anyone. All it does is give the lowest common denominator a sense of wicked satisfaction that someone is getting what they deserve. Frankly, I doubt that there are very many truly innocent people serving any real time in prison. The fact is that if you want to push the envelope of legal behavior, eventually you're either going to get caught or you're going to get blamed for something you didn't do even though you've gotten away with other illegal acts more times than you can count.

Before I go on digressing though, I'd like to direct your attention to the article from TYWKIWDBI. It points out how lovely prisons in Norway are and contrasts them to sexual abuse in American prisons. Fine- prisoners in American prisons get sexually abused on a regular basis there's little dispute to that fact. However, I wonder why they contrast living conditions with sexual abuse statistics? It's possible that both of their arguments are true but they're not related.

Norwegian prisons vs. American prisons

About a year and a half ago I wrote a post about Norwegian prisons -

"I don't suppose the prisoners have access to the internet," I say. Leif looks at me. "But of course," he says. And in their cells? "Yes." Leif explains that firewalls have been set up to ensure security is maintained. "But they must be able to access the internet," he says, "to help in their education and also so that they know they are still connected to the world."

This week the Norwegian site nrk has a report on the new Halden prison, the photogallery from which has been reposted at Izismile in an easier-to-view format.  Elusive Moose reports on the conditions faced by the prisoners:

The brand new facilities include a gym, a training room, a sound studio, a chapel, a library, several workshops, a family visiting unit, a football pitch and a school, where inmates will get the opportunity to study and gain a range of professional qualifications aimed at facilitating their release into society.

The cells themselves are bright, and are arranged in small units of 10 and 12 cells, joined to a common living area, where inmates will prepare food and socialise in very much the same way they would in any communal building. All cells have flat screen TVs and en-suite bathrooms, and some kind of view – what’s more, the windows don’t have iron bars.

Now, contrast that to American prisons:

At least 60,500 federal and state prison inmates were sexually abused at their current facility in the preceding year alone, according to a 2007 nationwide study by the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS)...

Disturbingly, many corrections officials continue to deny that sexual abuse is a problem in their facilities. Such indifference is reinforced by misguided public perceptions that prisoner rape is inevitable, or, even worse, a joke...

These comments come from an excellent editorial entitled "It's Time to End the Epidemic of Prisoner Rape."

This annoys me because they  could probably make a very convincing argument that living conditions in American prisons could be improved upon and that by doing so, the inmates would be more likely to be rehabilitated in a meaningful way. The problem though is that they have gotten so used to the idea of disregarding facts and logic with the intent of serving their lunatic ideologies. When they're in a position of making a meaningful and logical argument that would actually improve society as a whole, they have absolutely no idea how to do it.

It's not my nature to help but here's how I'd pose the argument. I'd argue that living conditions in Norway are superior to living conditions in America and then I'd list measurable, quantitative reasons why. Next, I'd demonstrate a higher level of rehabilitation in Norwegian prisons compared to American prisons and I'd show statistics proving this (if it were in fact true). Statistics I would include would be rates of sexual abuse, rates of inmate violence, rates of inmate drug use, rates of gainful employment after inmates are released, rates of crimes committed after inmates are released, and rates of return to prison.

Of course, if they followed my lead, they might accomplish something and then they'd have to worry about accomplishing something else. And that's just not how Liberals operate.

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) - Venezuela's annual inflation rate has surpassed 30 percent after consumer prices surged in April.  Oh really?  Who could have seen this coming?  Yes, this comes as quite a shock to us all.

The Central Bank and National Statistics Institute on Friday reported a 5.2 percent increase in consumer prices during April, driving up the annual rate to 30.4 percent.

President Hugo Chavez's government has been struggling against the highest inflation rate in Latin America and a weakening economy in general.  Seriously?  This is the first I've heard of it.  The media doesn't think it's so bad ... they NEVER mention it.

Prices increased 11.3 percent from January to April, up from 6.7 percent inflation in the same 2009 period.

Venezuela's economy shrank by 3.3 percent last year amid a downturn in its all-important oil industry. It's the nation's first recession since 2003.  A downturn in the oil industry?  Didn't Obama just give them a few billion so they could drill offshore or something?  I guess it doesn't take these communists socialists very long to go through a few billion. (Or, as Ann Coulter calls it "million, with a B.")

The country imports most of its food, and Chavez on Friday announced the government will create an import-export corporation aiming to break with the private sector's "hegemony." It wasn't immediately clear how the new state entity would operate.  LMAO.  OF COURSE his answer is ... MORE GOVERNMENT.

Have you ever noticed ... that's ALWAYS the solution of the communist socialist.  The government is tormenting them (for their own good, of course) beyond belief ... causing them untold hardship ... and what's the solution?  BIGGER GOVERNMENT - SPEND MORE MONEY - TAKE MORE FREEDOM - KILL THE PRIVATE SECTOR!!

Police officer threatens the most brutal of beatings

That's right ... the MOST brutal of beatings is when you get the "effing Mexican piss" beaten out of you.  You can click here to watch the video.  Apparently the guy's name was "Homey."

My comment?  I don't think this is all that bad.  They said the cops kicked him in the head.  I don't buy it.  My guess is the cops told him to hold still and he didn't listen.  When the cop went to stop him from moving his hand the cop accidentally brushed his melon with his boot.  We also don't know what happened to cause the guy's injuries around his face.  Who knows if one of the cops had to wrestle with the guy before he decided to give up.

Also, if the cop was so wound up he threatened the guy like that there's probably more to the story, capisce?  If a cop told me to get on the ground and hold still, that's what I would do.  I'd be willing to bet the cops wouldn't find it necessary to yell at me or threaten me.  I also doubt I'd be walking away from the encounter with a bruised face.

I mean, people are getting robbed, these cops come flying to the rescue, ... trying their best to get the bad guys and what happinks?  Some "free lance" doofus catches half of it on tape and everyone with an IQ below 50 breaks their back from jumping to conclusions.

Notice the jackass lib "consultant" jumping with them.  That's how he gets paid, testifying at trials.  I sure hope he never gets what he really deserves cuz that would be poetic justice too bad.

Have you noticed, there's never an outrage by the media when criminals beat citizens and/or cops and/or kill them.  Noooo, that's perfectly fine.  Noooo reason for outrage and marching in the street.

None of those videos revealed the racial hatred Rep. Carson conveyed to reporters that day and none of the videos showed a mob rushing or in any way impeding the congressmen.

When Rep. Carson gathered reporters around him to spread the myth of racial slurs being hurled “fifteen times” he painted the protesters not just as racists, but as a terrorist threat. We know this, because Kerry Picket of the Washington Times recorded Rep. (Newser) – The family of a New Jersey woman killed by a crocodile while snorkeling in India's Andaman Islands say she'd be alive today if tourists had been warned that man-eating crocodiles are a serious danger there. Lauren Failla, 25, was killed by a 12-foot crocodile near a resort where she was vacationing with her boyfriend. Her sister was killed in a rock-climbing accident 4 years ago.

"Her father made a point of saying she was not a big risk-taker, always a little reserved, all the more since her sister's untimely death," Failla's cousin told the Daily Record. "To me, this is such a big wake-up call to our romantic notions about nature. Nature gives and she takes away—rather indifferently. It is human beings that must protect other human beings." Indian authorities need to realize that "a crocodile sanctuary and tourist destination cannot co-exist," she added.
