Teenagers rampaging ... who could have seen it coming?

A mob of skateboarders vandalized businesses and cars in Hollywood, then tossed rocks and bottles at police officers who responded to the scene. Michelle Valles reports for the NBC4 Special Edition News at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012.

The mob of skateboarders and skate fans who ran amok through Hollywood on Saturday night, captured on a YouTube video by a driver caught in the middle of the mayhem, garnered national attention.

Skaters were seen vandalizing businesses and throwing bottles, while bystanders are seen running — resulting in the deployment of more than 100 Los Angeles police officers in riot gear.

Gee, I sure hope nothing happens to the poor, mistreated skateboarders.  If the cops catch the vandals, I hope they let them out of jail right away ... with a really stern warning ... like they usually do.  I wouldn't want anyone to actually learn a lesson.

Ha ha, just kidding about the lesson learning.  If criminals learned lessons, there wouldn't be so many repeat criminals, now would there?  Answer: "No, there wouldn't."

So it looks like the answer is very elusive to our intellectual betters.  And I guess we'll all just have to endure this behavior because there is no possible way to deter it.
