Did we say that? We didn't mean that. Calm down, we'll talk later.

Under pressure from farming advocates in rural communities, and following a report by The Daily Caller, the Obama administration withdrew a proposed rule Thursday that would have applied child labor laws to family farms. Yes, remember that?

Critics complained that the regulation would have drastically changed the extent to which children could work on farms owned by family members. The U.S. Department of Labor cited public outcry as the reason for withdrawing the rule. More at The Daily Caller:

Heh,  This is just a case where the liberals pushed too far too soon.  Don't worry, they'll be back.  They'll get this through sooner or later.  That way the big corporate farms can have more advantage and push the family farm further toward extinction.  All under the guise of "protecting the chilllldren."  Don't DARE question our actions if we say "it's for the chilllldren."

Ever notice?  The libs always have to be "getting something through."  Make the government bigger and bigger, (never smaller.)  Give the government more and more power, (never less.)  Burping out thousands of pages of laws and regulations every day ... it's lib nirvana.

Surprised it was withdrawn. Tossing in the old "children" or "environment" word is near always good for streamlining whatever regulation you want to impose. Here in Mendocino, using the old "environment" word, we have banned stores from using plastic bags and saved our world from unimaginable horrors. At the added cost, of course, of convenience and ten cent mandatory charge per paper bag. I'm sorry, not "plastic" bags but "single use" bags: a double-speak way of making everyone think we toss the things into the wind on the way into our homes, not store them and use them for a myriad of household tasks from garbage collection to laundry to dog shit (in fact no one I know "single uses" them; must be a liberal practice).

For Scot whose comment was mysteriously deleted.
