Can you hear me now??

Brutal damage from the tsunamis

Well, looks like the scientists were right to predict those dangerous tsunamis.  Yep, closed down roads, beaches, paralyzed entire towns.  WHEEEEEE-EWWW!  Thanks to these timely warnings them being completely wrong, nobody was hurt.  Oh, and it was all cost-free sooooo no problem ... thanks "scientists."

Also, did you notice any objective jourrrrnalist ask the obvious question?  "Hey, why are you forecasting tsunamis when you don't know your elbow from your asshole?  Are you also a global warming scientist?  Is that why you love to blast off at the pie-hole without regard to the expense involved?  Seriously, do you use gunpowder for toothpaste or something?"

Do you think you will hear any "objective jourrrrnalist" explaining why these forecasts were bullshit?  Any interviews with the "scientists" asking for an explanation as to why we should ever believe them again?

The next time this happens (and there WILL be a next time,) do you think any "objective jourrrrnalist" will remind you of the idiocy perpetrated this time?  Of course not, they are counting on the amnesia of the standard American moron ... the kind of moron that thinks we should spare no expense when it comes to safety ... as long as it's someone else's money.  You know, because they think it doesn't cost them anything ... it's free, FREE - EVERYTHING IS FREE!!

Another thing ... did you hear all the crying, moaning, and gnashing of teeth that was going on when the tsunamis didn't materialize?  Turns out it was coming from the American Bar Association.  Yes, you can feel for them because lawyers are entitled to make millions whenever a natural disaster strikes.

Amazing Democrat genius imparts wisdom

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Sunday that Republicans have left their mark on the healthcare bill and should accept that the bill will go forward.

"They've had plenty of opportunity to make their voices heard," she said on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday morning. "Bipartisanship is a two-way street. A bill can be bipartisan without bipartisan votes. Republicans have left their imprint." More here:

Yes, like all the other bipartisan legislation that didn't have bipartisan votes, right Nancy?

So now they are going to try to pass the bill through the reconciliation process and the Republicans should be happy and just pipe down.  I heard Obama the other day ... of the reconciliation process (that bypasses the filibuster process) he said "The American people will be happy with a majority vote."
Reconciliation is a legislative process in the United States Senate intended to allow consideration of a contentious budget bill without the threat of filibuster.
Oh really? So the American people should be happy with just a majority vote in the Senate?  Is that why the Democrats NEVER allowed a floor vote for Bush's judicial nominees?  Why wasn't a majority vote good enough then, jackass?

Democrats crack me up.  Prior to this era, the filibuster was NEVER used to block judges but the Democrats decided to do it and continued to do it for eight years.  Prior to this the reconciliation process has been mostly reserved for the budget (since the constitution REQUIRES a budget to be passed every year.)  But now the Democrats have decided to use this process for the health no-care bill.  I've even noticed the libs are very busy on Wikipedia trying to justify the use of reconciliation for this purpose -- pulling obscure unrelated crap out of history to show "see, this isn't REALLY the very first time."

Isn't that funny?  There is NO level to which libs will not stoop to force things upon you against your will.  They will use every loathsome scheme they can find to take power from individuals and give it to government.  And yet, complete idiots keep voting for them.

I think if they actually try to do it with reconciliation it would end up with even MORE of them losing their seats.  Let us pray they attempt it.

Biden said it was easy

SEATTLE - If you've been keeping up on what is permitted in Seattle parks, guns are okay. Spitting is also okay. Smoking? Not so fast.

Starting on April 1, you could get kicked out of a Seattle park for smoking. It's not an April fool's joke. The Seattle Parks and Recreation superintendent decided to ban smoking, despite recommendations from the Board of Park Commissioners.

Tonight, at Victor Steinbrueck Park along Seattle's waterfront, you could find a number of visitors smoking while enjoying the sunset. But come April 1, no more. Even non-smokers are surprised.

I guess the superintendent is on a power trip and does not care what the Board suggested they should do.

Last week, the Board of Park Commissioners decided against a smoking ban. But today, Parks Superintendent Tim Gallagher issued a memo, stating he decided to "prohibit smoking, chewing or other tobacco use anywhere on [Seattle] Parks and Recreation property."

City Retracts Blanket Ban on Smoking in Parks
Posted by Dominic Holden on Thu, Feb 18, 2010 at 5:50 PM
Tim Gallagher, the superintendent of Seattle Parks and Recreation, announced this evening that he would retract a smoking ban that applied to all places in Seattle's 400 parks. The blanket smoking ban, which Gallagher decreed only yesterday, would have allowed police to kick out people found using any tobacco products from city parks.

Instead, Gallhager is adopting the recommendation of the Board of Park Commissioners, which advised rules to prohibit "smoking, chewing, or other tobacco use ... within 25 feet of other park patrons and in play areas, beaches, or playgrounds.”

“Based on the input from the public that followed my initial decision, I have decided that a gradual approach to a smoking ban is reasonable,” Gallagher said in a statement released by his spokeswoman.

I guess the input had something to do about keeping a job

Riiiiight. Nice try, batman!

How I now debate a climate fraud denier

From ClimateGate. I thought this was very well stated so I'm posting it unenhanced. "

On another website I’ve been engaged in a brusque debate with an evangelizing global warming doomsayer–the type that Dr. John Costella, expert science analyst of the leaked CRY emails, aptly terms,’ climate fraud denier.’ Quickly, to counter my scientific arguments he turned to personalizing the matter. I was called ‘obsessive’ and a ‘conspiracy theorist.’ I was then challenged to justify why I knew better than ’97.5% of all climate scientists.’
Here was my reply:
I am a legal advocate, totally unpaid in relation to fighting these climate criminals. I have litigated against government corruption for over a decade in the U.S. federal Court Second Circuit as well as the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Appeal Court and Division of Human Rights. I have insight plus I still haven’t lost a case. If that makes me ‘obsessive’ about fighting corruption then count me in.
I am 100% in support of conservation, recycling and prudent use of natural resources. I have close friends who were former members of environment groups until those organizations became heavily politicized in the early 1990’s.
I argue the free market has been most adept at taking care of the supply and demand issues over dwindling fossil fuels. Fuel price rises compel us to conserve regardless of unnecessary government policy. Nationalized industries have an appalling history of waste and inefficiency. Common sense tells us if a commodity becomes more rare it goes up in price, so we become more precious about it. Technological development occurs best in a free market economy so we do not need big government to force us to ‘go green.’
Many so-called green energy alternatives are uneconomic and futile e.g. wind turbines use vast amounts of copper, are wholly unreliable plus extremely expensive to build and maintain. Without huge government subsidies no one would touch them. France runs on 80% nuclear power most efficiently and happily. Nuclear power is the only practicable long-term solution for national base energy loads.
Humans are NOT heating up the planet. Simply check the two oldest and most reliable ground RAW temp records in the world: the CET (England) and the Central European Record (Prague). These prove that for the past several hundred years global warming has been occurring naturally at a rate of 0.25 C per century, entirely normal for the Holocene interglacial period in which we live.
Indeed, the warming blip that climate scaremongers get all hot about is that time from 1975-98, which compares neatly with those entirely natural yet similar blips of 1860-80 and 1910-40 and which no climatologist attributes to human emissions. Therefore, we see no human climate-forcing signal.
The truth is in the science. Science is about facts, not a show of hands. The complexity of climate involves a multiplicity of scientific disciplines. Yet climate scientists have had to rely on a small core of a mere two dozen or so ‘elite’ climate scientists who are responsible for the ‘homogenized’ temp data sets produced from a central WMO source. That is where the fraud lies.
Government agencies GHCN, NOAA and CRU have been artificially heating up the numbers to show a warming signal; they call it ‘homogenisation.’ Independent analysts have now exposed the fraud of homogenization of climate data. The raw data so far examined proves that older temperatures have been pushed down, while recent temperatures have been ramped up–that’s fraud.
Hundreds of honorable climate scientists have been fed the faked numbers so that they have been duped for years, en masse. This is why independent auditors, for the past seven years, have tried to have access to how the homogenization process was done by those few crooks. But they have been declined. Why?
From the leaked Climategate emails we learn that this crooked elite rigged the peer-review process and also admitted to ‘fudging’ the data to ‘hide the decline.’ Until discredited Professor Phil Jones of CRU admitted to the BBC that there has been ‘no statistically significant’ temperature rise since 1995, the world had been continuously fed the lie that the temperatures were rising at a ‘catastrophic’ rate.
I have analyzed the leaked emails from CRU, and in my opinion they prove a conspiracy to commit fraud. This is the greatest Ponzi scheme of all time. Bernie Madoff is a small fry by comparison. That is why 16 major climate actions have just hit the US courts. The truth is out and the game is up. I care not whether you ‘believe’ in global warming or not–the task of legal advocates, like me, as for honorable scientists, is to work with the facts.
I am actively lobbying the UK police and Attorney General to bring criminal charges against Jones et al. I can assure you, on the lower quantum of proof in civil courts, the likes of Al Gore, Jones, Mann, Hansen, etc. will be fined and made bankrupt. But we need their kind behind bars–they have wasted over $50 billion of taxpayer’s money already. Even this corrupt UK government had to admit that Freedom Of Information (FOI) requests were criminally refused as per ICO investigations. Only self-serving politicians continue to obstruct justice. But as they see their political constituency dwindle they, too, will soon capitulate to facts and reason.
Carbon trading was going to make billions for a select few. That investment bubble has now burst. Climategate has irrevocably changed history. The proposed carbon economy was intended as a global wealth redistribution scheme and green taxes were the thread to sew together all nations into a one world government. Read the Copenhagen Draft Treaty–it spells out in black and white the plan for a new world socialist order–no elected representatives for you, no democracy! Read it, and then try telling me I’m a conspiracy theorist. Just be thankful climate skeptics saved you from that dystopia."

This would be hysterical if I weren't paying for it

CLIMATE scientists yesterday stunned Britons suffering the coldest winter for 30 years by claiming last month was the hottest January the world has ever seen.

The remarkable claim, based on global satellite data, follows Arctic temperatures that brought snow, ice and travel chaos to millions in the UK.

At the height of the big freeze, the entire country was blanketed in snow. But Australian weather expert Professor Neville Nicholls, of Monash University in Melbourne, said yesterday: “January, according to satellite data, was the hottest January we’ve ever seen. More here:

Oh man.  Lately, any time I've even SEEN the words "climate scientist" I start laughing.

"Remarkable claim?"  What's so remarkable?  You can check old newspapers and find "scientists" alternating between global cooling and global warming going back to the last 1800's.  So every time they make idiots of themselves it's "remarkable?"  Actually, that's the OPPOSITE of remarkable, it's normal.

Obama is impressed with being President

I've noticed something. Obama is TOTALLY impressed with being the President. I started noticing it about six months ago. He's always saying "I'm the President." I'm thinking of doing a video compilation of him doing it. It's ridiculous and shows a lot about his psychology. I mean, who goes around saying "I'm the President" all the time. I'm guessing if I posted that on Youtube, it would be fairly popular.

Mysterious and Tragic.

From CNN

Orlando, Florida (CNN) -- A whale trainer at SeaWorld died from "multiple traumatic injuries and drowning" after a 12,000-pound killer whale grabbed her ponytail and pulled her underwater in front of shocked onlookers at Shamu Stadium, the Orange County Sheriff's office said Thursday.
...
The county medical examiner ruled Brancheau "most likely died from multiple traumatic injuries and drowning after one of the park's killer whales pulled her into a pool behind Shamu Stadium," the sheriff's office said in a statement.

"AND drowning"? I never finished medical school, but I'm pretty sure that if you drown, THAT is the cause of death. Let's face it- people drown as a result of aspirating too much water. Dead men don't aspirate ANYTHING (you know- cuz they're DEAD). If there's water in the lungs of a corpse, it's because they were still breathing when they were exposed to the water. Of course, naming the cause of death "multiple traumatic injuries and drowning makes for better entertainment so I "understand".

The statement confirms Tompkins' account, saying that Brancheau was interacting with the whale, named Tilikum, in knee-deep water "when the animal grabbed her by the hair, said to be in a long ponytail, and pulled her underwater."

...

WESH: Watch tourist's video seconds before whale attack

This video is largely uninteresting but you get a glimpse of Ms. Brancheau smiling naively at the whale just before the "horseplay" commences toward the end of the clip.

"While this incident remains the subject of an ongoing death investigation, there are no signs of foul play," the sheriff's statement said. "All evidence and witness statements indicate that the death was a tragic accident."

Someone was killed by a Killer Whale and anyone suspected foul play? Very funny. Someone got in the water with a Killer Whale with a history of horseplay/killing people and it's a "tragic accident"? What's tragic here is that these people are allowed to confine wild animals in the name of "furthering scientific research through funding and revenue realized from facilities like Sea World".

Earlier accounts varied on how Brancheau ended up in the tank.

A witness told CNN affiliate WKMG-TV that the whale approached the glass side of the 35-foot-deep tank at Shamu Stadium, jumped up and grabbed Brancheau by her waist, shaking her so violently that her shoe came off. A SeaWorld employee, who asked not to be identified, described the incident the same way.

"shaking her so violently that her shoe came off". I heard another account wherein her shoe "went flying off". Either way, people watch way too many youtube videos but flying shoes must be some kind of running joke perpetrated by God and physics.

Orange County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jim Solomons said Brancheau slipped into the tank.

Tilikum has been linked to two other deaths. He and two other whales were involved in the drowning of a trainer at a Victoria, British Columbia, marine park in 1991. The trainer fell into the whale tank at the Sea Land Marine Park Victoria and was dragged underwater as park visitors watched.

You'd think they'd put up a rail or something to prevent people from "slipping" or "falling" into the tank. On second thought, since these are all Libs "communing" with nature and somehow, mysteriously and tragically experience the inevitable, maybe we should install "slip n' slides" and an unlimited supply of WD-40.

In 1999, Tilikum was blamed for the death of a 27-year-old man whose body was found floating in a tank at SeaWorld, the apparent victim of a whale's "horseplay," authorities said then.

More on "horseplay" later in this post.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said the man apparently hid in the park until after it closed, then climbed into the tank.

The 22-foot-long whale was "not accustomed to people being in his tank" and "wouldn't have realized he was dealing with a very fragile human being," Solomons said at the time.

Yes- because if he had realized he was dealing with a very fragile human being, that would have made all the difference in the world. Let's face it, they've captured, confined, and harassed a highly-intelligent, large, wild animal and suddenly and miraculously, it sees very fragile human beings as "friends". I guess you have to be well-practiced in self-deception to believe that one.

Because of Tilikum's history, as well as his size, trainers did not get into the water with him, Tompkins told CNN. Specific procedures were in place for working with him, he said, although "obviously, we need to evaluate those protocols."

Well, in her defense, she didn't mean to get in the water with him- she slipped. Of course, I'm sure that if she wasn't 100% certain that she'd be fine if she got just a bit closer... a bit deeper into the wading area... she never would have gotten herself into trouble in the first place. I'm not sure how many years of experience she had working with Orcas but it seems to me that she should have consulted with an expert before getting anywhere near the water.

...
Tompkins pointed out that the 1991 incident occurred before SeaWorld owned Tilikum and that no one is sure what took place in the incident eight years later.

Yes because if they kept complete and accurate records, they'd lose their funding.

Tilikum could have been trying to play with Brancheau or get her attention or companionship, said Nancy Black, a marine biologist who has studied whales for 20 years. Such whales play with seals and sea lions in the wild, tossing them in the air, she said. But they do not kill them and end up letting them go.

Yes- but they also kill them and eat them.

"I don't believe the killer whale purposely intended to kill the woman," she said. "It was more likely an accident, I would guess." But, she said, the whale could also have been frustrated for some reason.
Tompkins said there were no indications of any problem with Tilikum or any other animal just before the incident, and that Brancheau "had done a great session with him ... he seemed to enjoy what he was doing at the time."

She's been studying whales for 20 years and goes on record to say that she has NO IDEA IN THE WORLD what happened. That's TWENTY YEARS of study without gaining any useful ore relevant knowledge. I suspect it's time her grants be reviewed.

The incident, however, raises larger questions regarding the captivity of wild animals.
A spokesman for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals called the death "a tragedy that didn't have to happen."

Jaime Zalac said the organization had called on SeaWorld "to stop confining oceangoing mammals to an area that to them is like the size of a bathtub, and we have also been asking the park to stop forcing the animals to perform silly tricks over and over again. It's not surprising when these huge, smart animals lash out."

I'm going to step out of character for a minute here and state that this is a rare occasion that I agree with PeTa. Wild animals should not be confined like this.

Black told CNN that killer whales in the wild live in family groups, and males stay with their mothers their entire lives. Family members rely on each other for social structure and play, and they cover hundreds of miles of ocean, she said.

"I think they do need more space, and situations like that do cause a lot of stress for them, most likely." She said Tilikum had a "flopped fin," something seen in captivity but not much in the wild.

But Tompkins said, "We have a tremendous track record with these animals at SeaWorld" and a very small percentage of problems. It's useful to have animals in the park, he said, because it gives scientists a chance to study them and gives members of the public an opportunity to see them and learn about them.

"This is the first time in 46 years that we've ever had an incident like this with a trainer," he said. Although Tilikum is large and has to be handled carefully, "to mark him as a killer is unfair."
In 2006, a trainer at the adventure park was hospitalized after a killer whale grabbed him and twice held him underwater during a show at Shamu Stadium.

Yes- unfair. I mean, this is only the third incident. In California with their "three strikes" law, he'd be set free by now.

Another Shocking Story

A professional extreme skier who competed in the Winter X Games died Wednesday after he fell and hit his head on a rock outcropping while taking a run down a steep chute at California's Squaw Valley.

C.R. Johnson, 26, was skiing with a group of friends when he fell while trying to negotiate a "very, very tight, rocky area," said Jim Rogers, a member of the Lake Tahoe-area resort's ski patrol. He fell face-first, then spun around and struck the back of his head on rocks. Johnson was wearing a helmet, but Rogers said the helmet took a serious blow.

"Professional extreme skier". Please. Tell Obama there's a job open in California.

That's Why They're Called "Killer Whales"

Bold is mine (obviously)

SeaWorld in San Diego suspended its killer whale show after a trainer was killed Wednesday at its Florida park in front of a horrified audience.

Spokesman David Koontz could not say when the daily show would resume. It was not immediately clear if the killer whale show, one of SeaWorld's biggest draws, would also be suspended at the park's San Antonio location, which was closed until the weekend.

On Wednesday, a killer whale attacked a SeaWorld Orlando trainer who slipped or fell in its tank. The trainer drowned in front of the audience, who were quickly hustled out of the stadium. The park was immediately closed.

The 40-year-old veteran trainer was one of the park's most experienced. It was not clear how she died.

LOL @ "the audience ...quickly hustled out". Next time watch the nurse sharks, morons.

Oopsie daisy - tsk, "scientists"

While drilling for natural gas near the Turkmen village of Derweze in 1971, geologists watched their rig fall through the surface into a huge underground cavern.

The opening was full of gas, so they ignited it, hoping it would burn off in a few days.

That was 39 years ago. Presumably it will still burn out eventually, but the locals have given up waiting — they now call it “the door to hell.” Found it at Futility Closet:

Al Gore - he must be in hiding

Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) today asked the Obama administration to investigate what he called “the greatest scientific scandal of our generation” — the actions of climate scientists revealed by the Climategate files, and the subsequent admissions by the editors of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Fourth Assessment Report (AR4).

Senator Inhofe also called for former Vice President Al Gore to be called back to the Senate to testify.

“In [Gore's] science fiction movie, every assertion has been rebutted,” Inhofe said. He believes Vice President Gore should defend himself and his movie before Congress. More at pajamasmedia:

Sure, good luck with that Senator.  The Democrats have the majority in congress that THEY will be deciding who will be dragged before congress to testify.  You can be sure they will only drag Republicans or evil corporate executives.

Hippies - they never wise up, that's a hippie hallmark

[Marijuana] long a fixture among young people, use of the country's most popular illicit drug is now growing among the AARP set, as the massive generation of baby boomers who came of age in the 1960s and '70s grows older.

The number of people aged 50 and older reporting marijuana use in the prior year went up from 1.9 percent to 2.9 percent from 2002 to 2008, according to surveys from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.

The rise was most dramatic among 55- to 59-year-olds, whose reported marijuana use more than tripled from 1.6 percent in 2002 to 5.1 percent.

Observers expect further increases as 78 million boomers born between 1945 and 1964 age. For many boomers, the drug never held the stigma it did for previous generations, and they tried it decades ago.More at breitbart.com:

Gee, this comes as a real shocker, doesn't it?  Nothing more pathetic than gray-haired hippy with a pony tail still thinking he's "cool"  cuz he's all about the weed, man.

Meanwhile, I couldn't care less whether or not they smoke it.  The part I like is how they want to stop everyone else from enjoying freedom while they expect to flaunt the law with impunity.  Keep smoking, libs hippies. You're all such geniuses.

THE SCIENCE IS SETTLED -- SO JUST SHUT UP!!

Hey, remember all the bullshit hoopla that global warming jackasses scientists were putting out about the rising sea levels?  Yes, remember how "the science it settled."  Well, it turns out that it's not actually settled so much as it is all fucked up.  Gee, who could have predicted this?

Scientists have been forced to withdraw a study on projected sea level rise due to global warming after finding mistakes that undermined the findings.

The paper – entitled "Constraints on future sea-level rise from past sea-level change" – used fossil coral data and temperature records derived from ice-core measurements to reconstruct how sea level has fluctuated with temperature since the peak of the last ice age, and to project how it would rise with warming over the next few decades.

In a statement the authors of the paper said: "Since publication of our paper we have become aware of two mistakes which impact the detailed estimation of future sea level rise. This means that we can no longer draw firm conclusions regarding 21st century sea level rise from this study without further work.

"One mistake was a miscalculation; the other was not to allow fully for temperature change over the past 2,000 years. Because of these issues we have retracted the paper and will now invest in the further work needed to correct these mistakes." More at The Guardian.co.uk

Ha ha, in one part of the article some doofus is confused.  He's not sure whether this means the sea level could actually rise even FARTHER and THAT'S why they had to retract their "paper."  Gee, yes, it's quite the mystery isn't it?  I guess it is ... you know ... if you're a complete idiot lib.

Lib-Spotting 101

I watched this video on youtube because I missed Lindsey Vonn's gold medal win. This was interesting to me because she suffered a lower leg injury almost a week before she was due to compete. In spite of that injury, she went on to compete anyway and not only that but won the gold medal.

This video doesn't show the win but since I didn't know who she was, it was nice to put a face to the name. I suspected that she wasn't a Liberal because rather than tell the tale, "I was *this close* to winning 'olympic gold' but because of my leg injury, I couldn't compete", she went with trying anyway and probably due to strength of will and intestinal fortitude did it anyway. I also suspected she wasn't a Liberal because when you look at her you don't instinctively want to smack her.

That's the big difference between Liberals and the rest of us. They're awfully good at making excuses, not doing the work, and blaming everyone else for their own failures.

Lindsey Vonn is no Lib.

Here's the link to the comments: youtube

This is one comment I found to be very telling:

Nice run to win the gold! But she's a total faker with all the injury hype. She was clearly looking for an excuse if she failed. One might call it the Kerri Strug effect. (a true WARRIOR who had a REAL injury) Also, am I the only one who notices how Vonn is always fixing her hair for the cameras? Someone, please........ pie this poser.
Now, we all know that this commenter is a Lib. Here are the red flags:

1. The username is "usaisadump". Libs hate America.
2. We suspect in others what we're guilty of ourselves and this commenter thinks she's a "faker" with an excuse just in case.
3. They call some unknown a "true" warrior with a "real" injury... both lib qualifier buzzwords
4. "also, am i the only one who notices..."... they think they're smarter than everyone else.
5. The commenter advocates and recommends throwing food.
6. They not only advocate and recommend violence, they want it done by proxy. "Someone... please" [do it for me so I don't get in trouble].
7. They canna spell "poseur".

For those of you who don't know or who forgot who Kerri Strug is, here's her picture. You might remember that she's the one who ran at full speed to the pommel horse and after she stuck the landing, couldn't bear to put any weight on her ankle. She's also the one who had to be carried to the winner's podium. I mean, talk about a media whore.

Lib communes with nature (volcano)

Bold is mine:

Mount St. Helens, Washington (CNN) -- A climber who fell into the crater of Mount St. Helens volcano on Monday has been found dead, an official said Tuesday.

Bohlig, of Kelso, Washington, was at the edge of the volcano's crater Monday when the cornice on which he was standing crumbled, causing him to plunge 1,500 feet down its ice- and rock-covered inner wall, authorities said.

Warnings about unstable cornices on the crater rim are posted, according to the Gifford Pinchot National Forest Web site.

Fellow climber Scott Salkovics told CNN affiliate KGW that Bohlig had handed his camera to another climber and was about to pose for a picture with Mount Rainier in the background when he turned around and took a final step on the cornice.

"Boom, it busted off and I saw him clawing for the edge with a startled look on his face, and then he disappeared," Salkovics told KGW. More here:

Yes, a "startled look" cuz ... WHAAAA, how can this happink?

Well, at least I found out what the hell a cornice is.
In climbing, a cornice is an overhanging edge of snow on a ridge or the crest of a mountain. They form by wind blowing snow over the crest of the mountain, so they often form on the leeward sides of mountains. Cornices are extremely dangerous and traveling above or below them should be avoided.

LMAO -- the guy didna even get his ass kicked that bad and he's crying for an ambulance.  WTF?  Did they steal his bag at the end?  Something tells me they're going to be caught.  This video is only one day old right now.  I went to YouTube and read all the comments.  Suffice it to say, every racist with a pointy hat is commenting on that video.  Reading the comments revealed a lot of the dialogue in the video though. DALLAS, Feb 16 (Reuters) - Texas and several national industry groups on Tuesday filed separate petitions in federal court challenging the government's authority to regulate U.S. greenhouse gas emissions.

Texas, which leads U.S. states in carbon dioxide emissions due to its heavy concentration of oil refining and other industries, will see a major impact if U.S. mandatory emissions reductions take effect.  Actually, no ... no they won't.  The thing that will se a major impact is YOUR WALLET!  You think these companies are just going to "eat" the loss?  Think again, Batman.

In December, the Environmental Protection Agency ruled that greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide endanger human health, opening the door for the agency to issue mandatory regulations to reduce them. More here:

Right.  Forget having Congress pass laws ... the EPA can just bypass Congress and hit your wallet directly.  Sweet, huh?  Think "taxes."  The executive branch (Obama administration) is going to start taxing you.  They won't call it a tax, they'll call it a fee or a penalty to corporations but you'll pay ... you'll pay just like it were a tax on you.  Keep voting for libs.

Best Albums Ever?

Apparently, the Pope likes to rock - The Vatican has announced its Top Ten Best Rock/Pop albums.
Story and list
here.

I remember plenty of heated arguments in college (well - I remember vague parts - it was a long time ago) about what music would you want if you were stranded on a desert island. I think 10 is too many to pick - so I'll go with 5. Here are mine - in no particular order:

"Dark Side of the Moon" - Pink Floyd
"Aja" - Steely Dan
"Spike" - Elvis Costello
"London Calling" - The Clash
"Ah Via Musicom" - Eric Johnson

Nope - No Beatles.

Morning Briefs for Tuesday Item 3: I am thinking his hair came through this just fine

Morning Briefs for Tuesday Item 3: I am thinking his hair came through this just fine: "

Michelle 'Mashed up bag of meat' Malkin reports that Mitt 'Mittens' Romney was involved in an Air Rage incident. But unlike Patrick Kennedy, he was not the perpetrator of the air rage incident.

Mr. Romney, 62, and his wife, Ann, were sitting in Row 15 of the economy section of the Embrarer 190 airplane, waiting for the plane to take off when the incident happened.
The man sitting in front of Mr. Romney's wife dropped his seat back and when Mr. Romney asked him to move it upright for takeoff, the man became 'physically violent.' Another report said that the man tried to strike Mr. Romney.'Gov. Romney did not retaliate,' said Mr. Fehrnstrom.Mr. Romney was not injured.
The pilot returned to the gate and the passenger and his bags were removed by the RCMP.

But you know what I really like about this story? Mitt Romney, Republican millionaire, flying coach. Meanwhile, Al Gore --- the self-deified environmentalist --- takes private jets wherever he goes.

A striking contrast, n'est-ce pas?

Not So Tough Now, Are You, Lady?

This Liberal lady begs for it/gets it and then weeps profusely at the inhumanity of getting a taste of her own medicine.

Nascar fans are soooooo stupid

DAYTONA BEACH – Palin-mania easily surpassed Danica-mania at Daytona International Speedway on Sunday.

While Patrick got all the headlines for the better part of two weeks, she had no stake in the Daytona 500. Palin did, and as a VIP guest for the race, she ate up all the attention.

When she arrived for the drivers meeting, Palin was immediately mobbed. She briefly chatted with Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele, shook hands with supporters and smiled big.

She took a seat up front next to Harry Connick Jr., who sang the national anthem for the race. When NASCAR president Mike Helton acknowledged her as a special guest, she got the largest ovation from the room, packed from the front to the back with drivers, team members, support personnel and onlookers. More at the Sun-Sentinel:

Yes, well ... that's ok.  What do you expect from a bunch of Nacar fans.  Those people are so stupid ... they don't know any better.  They're nothing but hillbilly idiots.  You know how I know?  The media tells me at every opportunity ... Nascar fans and Sarah Palin ... stupid, stupid, stupid.

The world finally loves us -- *sniff*

Yes, if we ONLY elect Obama president then the world will love us.  Working great so far.  Isn't it great to be loved and respected ... you know ... now that's we've elected Obama.  remember when all the media wal telling us how the world hates us and how all would be well if only ... IF ONLY we elect Obama?

Yes, we give more than any other nation evey time there's a disaster in the world.  We pay for most of the United Nations crap.  We pay and pay and give and give and the world STILL hates us.

"The world" reminds me of a shithook kid who lives at home with mommy and daddy, pays no bills,  has no job, doesn't go to school, gets free food, shelter, gas, etc and bitches up a storm about how stupid his parents are.  And  ... no matter how much his parents give him, he constantly looks at them with contempt.

Oh really? What a shocker!!

Phil Jones - aka "Jackass"
  • Data for vital 'hockey stick graph' has gone missing
  • There has been no global warming since 1995
  • Warming periods have happened before - but NOT due to man-made changes

Bold is mine:

The academic at the centre of the ‘Climategate’ affair, whose raw data is crucial to the theory of climate change, has admitted that he has trouble ‘keeping track’ of the information.

Colleagues say that the reason Professor Phil Jones has refused Freedom of Information requests is that he may have actually lost the relevant papers.

Professor Jones told the BBC yesterday there was truth in the observations of colleagues that he lacked organisational skills, that his office was swamped with piles of paper and that his record keeping is ‘not as good as it should be’.

The data is crucial to the famous ‘hockey stick graph’ used by climate change advocates to support the theory.

Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon.

And he said that for the past 15 years there has been no ‘statistically significant’ warming. More at the dailymail:

Well ... what difference does it make if he "lost the data."  I doubt that's true.  I think it's more likely that he FAKED the data.  So what do you do with a guy who's caused so much turmoil and wasted money/resources ... on purpose ... for personal gain?  If the Klown were in charge, he'd get the death penalty ... with torture first.  Yes, I think the torture would work like this:

For every 10K you stole/wasted you get one day of torture.  One "day" of torture would be broken down into four increments of 30 minutes each throughout the day.  Each morning the guard comes before breakfast and rolls a pair of dice.  If a seven comes up -- it's TORTURE DAY!!  After you've done all the torture you have coming, you're put to death ... in a humane way of course ... we're not animals.

This lady is stealing YOUR money

NEW YORK (CBS) ―An interior designer is suing CNN anchor Anderson Cooper after she took an unusual fall at an old Manhattan firehouse that he is converting into a new home.

Killian O'Brien, of Brooklyn, said in her suit that she plunged 17 feet through the hole that once held the station's fire pole.

The pole had been removed, but the hole was uncovered.

The accident happened in September. Her lawyer says she is lucky to be alive. She is also suing the developer of the building.

Cooper's spokesman declined to comment.

The firehouse was built in 1906. It was the former home of a unit of the Fire Patrol, a private firefighting organization backed by the insurance industry. From wcbstv.com:

Just another in a LONG and ever-increasing series of lawsuits against YOU insurance companies. Notice how she's suing everyone in sight.  This is called "naming" someone in a lawsuit.  The more people/companies she "names," the more chance she has of getting PAID.

That's right ... getting PAID for being an idiot and falling through a perfectly visible hole in the floor.

And why don't the insurance companies fight these lawsuits?  Because it's cheaper to settle them and then raise your rates, that's why. That's why YOU PAY whenever one of these suits is filed. If the insurance companies could get repaid for their trouble and costs in defending lawsuits like this, they would defend themselves.  For this to happen, we need tort reform.

Note the lawyers getting rich on this kind of crap.  Tort reform would also work on medical malpractice suits.  Ask youself ... Who is making money off these suits?  Is it free?  If not, who is paying?

Utah calls bullshit on global warming

Excerpts:

Carbon dioxide is "essentially harmless" to human beings and good for plants. So now will you stop worrying about global warming?

Utah's House of Representatives apparently has at least. Officially the most Republican state in America, its political masters have adopted a resolution condemning "climate alarmists", and disputing any scientific basis for global warming.

The measure, which passed by 56-17, has no legal force, though it was predictably claimed by climate change sceptics as a great victory in the wake of the controversy caused by a mistake over Himalayan glaciers in the UN's landmark report on global warming.

The original version of the bill dismissed climate science as a "well organised and ongoing effort to manipulate and incorporate "tricks" related to global temperature data in order to produce a global warming outcome". It accused those seeking action on climate change of riding a "gravy train" and their efforts would "ultimately lock billions of human beings into long-term poverty".

By the time the final version of the bill came to a vote, cooler heats apparently prevailed. The bill dropped the word "conspiracy", and described climate science as "questionable" rather than "flawed". From the Guardian:

Ha, that's ONE state.  Any others?

Washington Post’s King Disparages Palin as ‘Simple-Minded’ and ‘Mediocre’

Washington Post’s King Disparages Palin as ‘Simple-Minded’ and ‘Mediocre’: "
Sarah Palin “doesn't have any substance there behind her” and her remarks at the Tea Party convention were “embarrassing at points” since she delivered “simple, simple thoughts, very simple-mindedly expressed,” Washington Post columnist Colby King charged on Inside Washington.

Jumbling the famous “most of the American people are mediocre. And they have a right to be represented” quote and its source, Colby, the Post's deputy editorial page editor from 2000 to 2007, applied the “mediocre” label to Palin: “Just as the Supreme Court nominee who was defeated said, you know, ‘everybody needs to have a little mediocre representation and that's what I am.’ That's what she is.”

That’s a pretty mediocre recollection of the quote which actually is from a Senator commenting on a Supreme Court nominee, not from the nominee. As James Taranto recounted on OpinionJournal.com in 2002:

When President Nixon appointed G. Harrold Carswell to the Supreme Court in 1970, critics said Carswell was mediocre. Sen. Hruska, a Nebraska Republican, rose to the nominee's defense: “It has been held against this nominee that he's mediocre. Well there are a lot of mediocre judges and lawyers and people. Most of the American people are mediocre. And they have a right to be represented on the Supreme Court.” The elitist U.S. Senate, however, rejected Carswell by a 51-45 vote.

King’s denigration of Palin, as spouted on Inside Washington, a weekly show produced and aired over the weekend by Washington, DC's ABC affiliate, but first broadcast Friday night on the local PBS station:

Sarah Palin does one thing very well, she speaks in cliches, but she doesn’t have any substance there behind her. I watched her speak at the Tea Party convention, then I listened to the interview that followed with the Tea Party chairman and it was embarrassing at points, to the point where you just want to avert your gaze when she starts to talk. Simple, simple thoughts, very simple-mindedly expressed.

Look, I understand she’s got a following, but just as the Supreme Court nominee who was defeated said, you know, ‘everybody needs to have a little mediocre representation and that’s what I am.’ That’s what she is.
"

SO WHAT? What is wrong with expressing your thoughts clearly and simply? Why on earth would anyone aspire to unnecessarily complicate their words? I'm frankly sick and tired of pseudo-intellectual Liberals playing "dress up" by choosing archaic, pedantic forms of expression under the guise of being "eloquent" when really, they're just trying to ensure that nobody picks up on what they're really saying.

The etymology of "sophisticated" is that it comes from the Sophists who established the philosophy of Sophistry. These people had a reputation for being intelligently tricky. I learned this 30 years ago and ever since have had an ingrained distrust for such people. Just say what you mean and mean what you say.

I don't care how simply you say it- just be sincere. I suspect and trust I'm not alone on this and for that reason, I have a strange feeling that Palin is going to be our next president or at the very least, vice president.

Remember how the libs whined about the patriot act?

Yes, the patriot act.  That was the one that authorized the government to (without an immediate warrant) listen in on phone conversations.  They still had to get a warrant but they could get it later.  Presumably if no warrant was allowed, the evidence could not be used.  There were also some "rules" about it.
It's more complex than this but I shall summarize:
1 - The phone call had to originate from another country.
2 - They had to have reason to believe one of the numbers belonged to a terrorist.

Ohhhhh, the libs screamed bloody murder about this ... on and on and on ... daily harping by the media. I'm sure you recall.

Well,  now the Obama administration is trying to get an OK to track your cell phone ... WITHOUT a warrant.  From what I can tell, they don't have to get a warrant later either.  Do I care?  Only because it doesn't require a warrant ... which means that it can be abused easier ... which means we're losing some freedom here.

Anyway, do you hear anything from the media about this?  Shall they harp on and on and on?  Of course not.  You know why?  Because the Dipshitocrats are doing it, that's why ... and anything the Dipshitocrats do is just fine an dandy with the media ... capisce?  They only care when conservatives do something like this.  Actually, it doesn't matter WHAT conservative intiatives come up, the media are against them.
Even though police are tapping into the locations of mobile phones thousands of times a year, the legal ground rules remain unclear, and federal privacy laws written a generation ago are ambiguous at best. On Friday, the first federal appeals court to consider the topic will hear oral arguments in a case that could establish new standards for locating wireless devices.

In that case, the Obama administration has argued that warrantless tracking is permitted because Americans enjoy no "reasonable expectation of privacy" in their--or at least their cell phones'--whereabouts. U.S. Department of Justice lawyers say that "a customer's Fourth Amendment rights are not violated when the phone company reveals to the government its own records" that show where a mobile device placed and received calls. Chris Matthews Continues to Convince Us That He's a Blithering Buffoon.

See WOMBAT's blog for video- it's not showing up here for some reason.

At least they don't perpetuate the myth that Liberals are snicker and condescending jackasses who have never lived down getting shoved into lockers in high school.

If MSNBC and CNN are really wondering why FOX is getting all the good ratings, they really should watch the network for a little while and pay attention. The hosts of the shows rarely snicker, never condescend to people who don't agree with their points, and when they have more than one guest on the air, it's invariably someone with a differing opinion from the first.

This video is a painfully reminiscent of what it must be like when a cheerleader tries to join drama club. For the first time, the people in drama club get to be the ones to exclude the "popular people" and do everything to pour as much acid as they can muster.

I know that Chris Matthews isn't a journalist- he's an entertainer so I really shouldn't take him seriously at all. After watching this video, I don't see how anyone could take him seriously at all.

Doctor yanks dumbass fatty into reality

A foul-mouthed New Zealand surgeon has been reprimanded after swearing at a severely obese patient.

A 44-year-old mother filed a complaint about the doctor after a tense consultation with him last year, The New Zealand Herald reports.

The doctor said f--- at least three times to the Maori woman after she told him she didn't like the word "diet" and preferred the term "lifestyle".

He told her she was, "going on a f---ing diet". More here :

Too funny.  "Lifestyle change."  Ohhhhh, PUL-LEASE!  See, here's the call, you have to eat less calories.  That is called a DIET.  Now you can call it a lifestyle change but it's really a diet.  Here's another one the fatties use ... "Journey."  As in "I'm on a journey."  No fatso, you're on a fucking DIET!  Maybe when you pull your head out of your ass and realize that, you'll lose some weight.  Stop blaiming everyone and everything but yourself.

What? The government SQUANDERING tax money?

POLK COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- The Polk County school district is giving away iPods to some parents.

The school district is using the device to reward parents of children with disabilities who fill out a 10-minute online survey. The district wants to know how well it's connecting with the parents and how to get parents involved in their children's education.

The district is spending about $350,000 in federal stimulus money for the iPods. From here:

Ha ha, yeah.  Looks like we're going to have to raise taxes.

Chuck Todd, NBC's Political Director and Chief Doofus

From I Hate The Media (IHTM)
Chuck Todd, NBC’s political director and chief White House correspondent really didn’t like it when Fox News Washington managing editor Bill Sammon appeared on Fox News Sunday and said, “…the mainstream media hates the tea party movement almost as much as it hates Sarah Palin.”

From the "Morning with Joe" show on MSNBC:
Todd: We all know there are a lot of different ways people get news. And then you have straight journalists, you have activist journalists, you have opinion folks. And we know that they’re all out there. I think we believe here at NBC that people are smart enough to figure it out [yes they are and they don't believe your bullshit for five seconds]. And that’s why when a news executive goes out there and states a crazy accusation like that, that it ends up, it only ends up probably hurting what they’re trying to do, but it creates, it only denigrates all of us ["but it creates, it only denigrates"? What you said? Remember- this guy is NBC's political director and chief White House correspondent. How on earth did he get there?].
. . .
And I’m sorry, there is [are] certain news organizations out here [there] whose agenda is [are] to undermine the 90% of journalists who are just simply trying to cover stories [You know- stop picking on the good, honest, hard-working people who are just trying to do their jobs. Really? Clearly, he has the most disproportionally egotistical people confused with people who actually work for a living.]  out there. And that’s what really frustrates me about what’s happened in the media landscape. It is a business for some media organizations to undermine the quote-unquote [endquote] the [sic] mainstream media because it’s good for their business. And this is not just on the right, it’s happening on the left as well.
I know it's obvious that he's really talking about ONE "certain news organizations [sic]"- FOX. His use of singular verbs rather plural verbs makes this painfully obvious. If he weren't a Liberal, he'd just come out and say what he actually means instead of half-heartedly feign impartiality. Rather than coming across as diplomatic or tactful, he comes across as being a cowardly rat and that's probably closer to the truth.

Diversity at Harlem Luncheon for Liberal Bloggers.

Here’s a comical story. Last year, “first black president” Bill Clinton held a luncheon in Harlem for a handful of liberal bloggers. Black liberals complained that there were no blacks at the luncheon (where “soul food” was served), though the organizer said he invited some. Below is a photo of bloggers who attended last year’s luncheon:

I can’t tell you how much I laughed and laughed at that photo. :D I ranted alongside black liberal bloggers about white liberals’ hypocrisy. I even bonded with a couple of them. Fond memories…

Get the witches -- get their wallets -- it's open season!!

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Adding a $1 per pack tax to cigarettes could raise more than $9 billion a year for states, health advocates said on Wednesday, and a poll released with the study shows Americans would support such a tax.

Barack Obama | Health

The poll, conducted by International Communications Research, found 60 percent of voters would support the tax to help struggling states and would prefer it over other tax increases or budget cuts.

"An increase in tobacco tax rates is not only sound public health policy but a smart and predictable way to help boost the economy and generate long-term health savings for states facing deepening budget deficits," said John Seffrin, chief executive of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network. More here:

By all means, LET'S TAX THOSE WITCHES!!  Dirty, filthy smokers.  While we're at it, let's tax the latte's etc at Starbucks too.  I think $1 per drink would be fine, don't you?  Let's get those soda drinkers too.  They're disgusting.

Keep voting for libs

You are NOT going to believe what goes on in this video ... trust me.

This is the kind of absolute horseshit that goes on thanks to liberals writing laws for lawyers. and appointing their ideological peers to the bench.  This is the kind of absolute horseshit that results from "evil corporations' being forced to pay ridiculous amounts of money in predatory lawsuits.  This behavior can be stopped through action by elected officials.

What do you think would have happened if the security guards intervened?  The media would have made them all out to be criminals.  There would have been hearings at the city council and the lawyers would be swarming.  The funny things is, the same ones who would have swarmed the guards (security company) will instead swarm the city and the taxpayers will pay.

Common sense is gone ... replaced by the wisdom of predatory lawyers and facilitated by the liberals in the congress and the judiciary.  This is why the libs filibustered all of Bush's judicial nominees.  They were used to filling the judicial vacancies (which is crucial to forming society in their desired image) and when Bush started to make appointments to the bench, the libs filibustered.  The filibuster was never used to block judicial appointees until the libs started it. Republicans did not employ this tactic. Nor had the libs until Bush was elected.  When the Republicans had the option to stop it, they failed to act.

Al Gore is a fucking IDIOT!

By Noel Sheppard at Newbusters:

The cover of Nobel Laureate Al Gore's new book "Our Choice: A Plan to Solve the Climate Crisis" was intentionally doctored to exaggerate the appearance of hurricanes in the northern hemisphere as well as reduce the amount of ice present in the Arctic.

Maybe even more ominously, Florida was so diminished it's almost totally gone.

As reported by Florida State University hurricane expert Ryan Maue at the website Watts Up With That, the truth was apparently inconvenient for the Global Warmingist-in-Chief (h/t NBer Blonde):

The cover opens and closes half and half - so you only see one hurricane...as in the press release photo or the one on Amazon.

But this is the real picture sequence from the book which I looked at Borders today and took cell-phone pictures, original (before the retouching by some "artist") Note all of the Arctic ice and the size of the Florida Peninsula...

According to Maue, this is the full, unfolded cover:

Hey! Where'd Florida go?

With hurricane activity at 30-year lows, and Arctic ice levels on the rise, I guess Gore and Company figured they needed some help proving their point.

What?  AlGore lying and cheating and stealing?  Nah, can't be possible. Didn't he win a Nobel prize or something?  By the way, there's something else that's obviously fake about this pic.  I'll let you try to figure it out (has to do with the hurricanes.)  If no one figures it out, I'll reveal it in the comments tomorrow ... or maybe Friday.

From Newsbusters:

Trouble lurking - the end is near

Jim DeMint & Lynn Jenkins

(Jim DeMint, R-SC) The conservative senator took to Twitter on Tuesday amid reports that the area is due to receive another 10 to 20 inches of snow this week:

It's going to keep snowing in DC until Al Gore cries "uncle"
Forget it, Jim. Al Gore is a lib and as such is incapable of learning.  If he could learn, he'd be a conservative.  Libs are also incapable of humiliation, which is why he'll go to his grave swearing that global warming is real and caused by humans.

The South Carolina senator was not the first Republican to use the snowstorm to make a political point. Rep. Lynn Jenkins (R-Kansas) said that absence of votes in the House is a plus for taxpayers.

You got that right, Lynn.  It would be different if every time they voted the gave us some of our liberty back.  As it is, the jackasses are voting our liberty away as fast as they can.
